The aim of this paper is to prove the two-variable anticyclotomic Iwasawa main conjecture for Hida families and a definite version of the horizontal non-vanishing conjecture, which are formulated in Longo-Vigni. Our approach is based on the two-variable anticyclotomic control theorem for Selmer groups for Hida families and the relation between the two-variable anticyclotomic $L$-function for Hida families built out of $p$-adic families of Gross points on definite Shimura curves studied in Castella-Longo and Castella-Kim-Longo and the self-dual twist of the specialisation to the anticyclotomic line of the three-variable $p$-adic $L$-function of Skinner-Urban.
For the anticyclotomic p-adic Rankin--Selberg L-function attached to a fixed Hecke eigenform and an imaginary quadratic field we introduce the second p-adic variable by considering Hida families of Hecke eigenforms parametrized by the weight.
Building on the construction of big Heegner points in the quaternionic setting, and their relation to special values of Rankin-Selberg $L$-functions, we obtain anticyclotomic analogues of the results of Emerton-Pollack-Weston on the variation of Iwasawa invariants in Hida families. In particular, combined with the known cases of the anticyclotomic Iwasawa main conjecture in weight $2$, our results yield a proof of the main conjecture for $p$-ordinary newforms of higher weights and trivial nebentypus.
We construct the three-variable p-adic triple product L-functions attached to Hida families of ellptic newforms and prove the explicit interpolation formulae at all critical specializations by establishing explicit Ichino's formulae for the trilinear period integrals of automorphic forms. Our formulae perfectly fit the conjectural shape of p-adic L-functions predicted by Coates and Perrin-Riou. As an application, we prove the factorization of certain unbalanced p-adic triple product L-functions into a product of anticyclotomic p-adic L-functions for modular forms. By this factorization, we giv…
In this article, we follow Hida's approach to study the mu-invariant of the anticyclotomic projection of p-adic Hecke L-functions for CM fields along a branch character. We prove a conjecture of Gillard on the vanishing of the mu-invariant and give an exact mu-invariant formula for self-dual branch characters.
We prove non-vanishing modulo p, for a prime $\ell$ different from p, of central critical Rankin-Selberg L-values with anticyclotomic twists of $\ell$-power conductor. The L-function is Rankin product of a cusp form and a theta series of arithmetic Hecke character of an imaginary quadratic field. The paper is concerned with the case when the weight of Hecke character is greater than that of cusp form, so the L-value is essentially different in nature from the one in the landmark work of Vatsal and Cornut-Vatsal on the same theme.
In this article, we prove an explicit Waldspurger formula for the toric Hilbert modular forms. As an application, we construct a class of anticyclotomic p-adic Rankin-Selberg L-functions for Hilbert modular forms, generalizing the construction of Bertolini, Darmon and Prasanna in the elliptic case. Moreover, building on works of Hida, we give a necessary and sufficient condition when the Iwasawa mu-invariant of this p-adic L-function vanishes and prove a result on the non-vanishing modulo $p$ of central Rankin-Selberg L-values with anticyclotomic twists.
In this article, we follow Hida's approach to establish an analogue of Washington's theorem on the non-vanishing modulo p of Hecke L-values for CM fields with anticyclotomic twists.
Let M be an imaginary quadratic field, f a Hecke eigenform on GL2(Q) and πthe unitary base-change to M of the automorphic representation associated to f. Take a unitary arithmetic Hecke character χof M inducing the inverse of the central character of f. The celebrated formula of Waldspurger relates the square of an integral L(f) of f and χover the idele class group of M to the central critical value L(1/2,π\otimesχ). In this paper, we present a construction of a new p-adic L-function that interpolates L(f) over arithmetic characters for a cusp form f in the spirit of the landmark result of Kat…
This article is devoted to the elliptic Stark conjecture formulated by Darmon, Lauder and Rotger [DLR], which proposes a formula for the transcendental part of a $p$-adic avatar of the leading term at $s=1$ of the Hasse-Weil-Artin $L$-series $L(E,\varrho_1\otimes \varrho_2,s)$ of an elliptic curve $E$ twisted by the tensor product $\varrho_1\otimes \varrho_2$ of two odd $2$-dimensional Artin representations, when the order of vanishing is two. The main ingredient of this formula is a $2\times 2$ $p$-adic regulator involving the $p$-adic formal group logarithm of suitable Stark points on $E$. T…
We prove a functional equation for the three-variable $p$-adic $L$-function attached to the Rankin-Selberg convolution of a Coleman family and a CM Hida family, which was studied by Loeffler and Zerbes. Consequentially, we deduce that an anticyclotomic $p$-adic $L$-function attached to a $p$-non-ordinary modular form vanishes identically in the indefinite setting.
The purpose of this article is to generalize some results of Vatsal on studying the special values of Rankin-Selberg L-functions in an anticyclotomic $\mathbb{Z}_{p}$-extension. Let $g$ be a cuspidal Hilbert modular form of parallel weight (2,...,2) and level $\mathcal{N}$ over a totally real field F, and let K/F be a totally imaginary quadratic extension of relative discriminant $\mathcal{D}$. We study the $l$-adic valuation of the special values $L(g,χ,\frac{1}{2})$ as χvaries over the ring class characters of K of $\mathcal{P}$-power conductor, for some fixed prime ideal $\mathcal{P}$. We p…
The purpose of this paper is to build on results in {\it{higher codimension Iwasawa theory}}. The setting of our results involves Galois representations arising as cyclotomic twist deformations associated to (i) the tensor product of two cuspidal Hida families $F$ and $G$, and (ii) the tensor product of three cuspidal Hida families $F$, $G$ and $H$. On the analytic side, we consider (i) a pair of $3$-variable Rankin-Selberg $p$-adic $L$-functions constructed by Hida and (ii) a balanced $4$-variable $p$-adic $L$-function (due to Hsieh and Yamana) and an unbalanced $4$-variable $p$-adic $L$-func…
We establish several results towards the two-variable main conjecture of Iwasawa theory for elliptic curves without complex multiplication over imaginary quadratic fields, namely (i) the existence of an appropriate p-adic L-function, building on works of Hida and Perrin-Riou, (ii) the basic structure theory of the dual Selmer group, following works of Coates, Hachimori-Venjakob, et al., and (iii) the implications of dihedral or anticyclotomic main conjectures with basechange. The result of (i) is deduced from the construction of Hida and Perrin-Riou, which in particular is seen to give a bound…
Given two newforms $f$ and $g$ of respective weights $k$ and $l$ with $k<l$, Hida constructed a $p$-adic $L$-function interpolating the values of the Rankin convolution of $f$ and $g$ in the critical strip $l \leq s \leq k$. However, this construction works only if $f$ is an ordinary form. Using a method developed by Panchishkin to construct $p$-adic $L$-function associated with modular forms, we generalize this construction to the case where the slope of $f$ is small.
We prove new congruences between special values of Rankin-Selberg $L$-functions for $\mathrm{GL}(n+1)\times\mathrm{GL}(n)$ over arbitrary number fields. This allows us to control the behavior of $p$-adic $L$-functions under Tate twists and to prove the existence of non-abelian $p$-adic $L$-functions for Hida families on $\mathrm{GL}(n+1)\times\mathrm{GL}(n)$. As an application, we prove strong non-vanishing results for central $L$-values: We give sufficient local conditions for twisted central Rankin-Selberg $L$-values to be generically non-zero.
We provide applications to studying the behavior of Selmer groups under specialization. We consider Selmer groups associated to four dimensional Galois representations coming from (i) the tensor product of two cuspidal Hida families $F$ and $G$, (ii) its cyclotomic deformation, (iii) the tensor product of a cusp form $f$ and the Hida family $G$, where $f$ is a classical specialization of $F$ with weight $k \geq 2$. We prove control theorems to relate (a) the Selmer group associated to the tensor product of Hida families $F$ and $G$ to the Selmer group associated to its cyclotomic deformation a…
In this paper we prove an anticyclotomic Iwasawa main conjecture proposed by Perrin-Riou for Heegner points when the global sign is -1, using a recent work of the author on one divisibility of Iwasawa-Greenberg main conjecture for Rankin-Selberg p-adic L-functions. As a byproduct we also prove the equality for the above mentioned main conjecture under some local conditions.
The rank one Gross conjecture for Deligne-Ribet $p$-adic $L$-functions was solved in works of Darmon-Dasgupta-Pollack and Ventullo by the Eisenstein congruence among Hilbert modular forms. The purpose of this paper is to prove an analogue of the Gross conjecture for the Katz $p$-adic $L$-functions attached to imaginary quadratic fields via the congruences between CM forms and non-CM forms. The new ingredient is to apply the $p$-adic Rankin-Selberg method to construct a non-CM Hida family which is congruent to a Hida family of CM forms at the $1+\varepsilon$ specialization.
In this paper we show how one can combine the p-adic Rankin-Selberg product construction of Hida with freeness results of Hecke modules of Wiles to establish interesting congruences between special values of L-functions. These congruences is a part of some deep conjectural congruences that follow from the work of Kato on the non-commutative Iwasawa theory of the false Tate curve extension.
In this paper we propose and prove an anticyclotomic Iwasawa main conjecture for Heegner points on supersingular elliptic curves with $a_p=0$. The result has a "$\pm$" nature in the sense of Kobayashi. The proof uses a recent work of the second author on one divisibility in the Iwasawa--Greenberg main conjecture for Rankin-Selberg $p$-adic $L$-functions, together with an argument of Howard (adapted to our "$\pm$"-situation). As a byproduct, we also obtain an improvement of Skinner's result on a converse to the Gross--Zagier--Kolyvagin theorem.
Let $F$ be a totally real field and let $E/F$ be a CM quadratic extension. We construct a $p$-adic $L$-function attached to Hida families for the group ${\rm GL}_{2/F}\times {\rm Res}_{E/F}{\rm GL}_{1}$. It is characterised by an exact interpolation property for critical Rankin-Selberg $L$-values, at classical points corresponding to representations $π\boxtimes χ$ with the weights of $χ$ smaller than the weights of$π$. Our $p$-adic $L$-function agrees with previous results of Hida when $E/F$ splits above $p$ or $F=\mathbf{Q}$, and it is new otherwise. Exploring a method that should bear furthe…

We give a construction of a new $p$-adic Maass-Shimura operator defined on an affinoid subdomain of the preperfectoid $p$-adic universal cover $\mathcal{Y}$ of a modular curve $Y$. We define a new notion of $p$-adic modular forms as sections of a certain sheaf $\mathcal{O}_Δ$ of "nearly rigid functions" which transform under the action of subgroups of the Galois group $\mathrm{Gal}(\mathcal{Y}/Y)$ by $\mathcal{O}_Δ^{\times}$-valued weight characters. This extends Katz's notion of $p$-adic modular forms as functions on the Igusa tower $Y^{\mathrm{Ig}}$; indeed we may recover Katz's theory by re…
In this paper we prove one side divisibility of the Iwasawa-Greenberg main conjecture for Rankin-Selberg product of a weight two cusp form and an ordinary CM form of higher weight, using congruences between Klingen Eisenstein series and cusp forms on $\mathrm{GU}(3,1)$, generalizing earlier result of the third-named author to allow non-ordinary cusp forms. The main result is a key input in the third author's proof for Kobayashi's $\pm$-main conjecture for supersingular elliptic curves. The new ingredient here is developing a semi-ordinary Hida theory along an appropriate smaller weight space, …
The present paper is devoted to the relations between Deligne's conjecture on critical values of motivic $L$-functions and the multiplicative relations between periods of arithmetically normalized automorphic forms on unitary groups. In the first place, we combine the Ichino--Ikeda--Neal-Harris (IINH) formula -- which is now a theorem -- with an analysis of cup products of coherent cohomological automorphic forms on Shimura varieties to establish relations between certain automorphic periods and critical values of Rankin-Selberg and Asai $L$-functions of ${\rm GL}(n)\times{\rm GL}(m)$ over CM …
The Ichino-Ikeda conjecture, and its generalization to unitary groups by N. Harris, has given explicit formulas for central critical values of a large class of Rankin-Selberg tensor products. Although the conjecture is not proved in full generality, there has been considerable progress, especially for $L$-values of the form $L(1/2,BC(π) \times BC(π'))$, where $π$ and $π'$ are cohomological automorphic representations of unitary groups $U(V)$ and $U(V')$, respectively. Here $V$ and $V'$ are hermitian spaces over a CM field, $V$ of dimension $n$, $V'$ of codimension $1$ in $V$, and $BC$ denotes …
