Let $F$ be a totally real field and let $E/F$ be a CM quadratic extension. We construct a $p$-adic $L$-function attached to Hida families for the group ${\rm GL}_{2/F}\times {\rm Res}_{E/F}{\rm GL}_{1}$. It is characterised by an exact interpolation property for critical Rankin-Selberg $L$-values, at classical points corresponding to representations $π\boxtimes χ$ with the weights of $χ$ smaller than the weights of$π$.
Our $p$-adic $L$-function agrees with previous results of Hida when $E/F$ splits above $p$ or $F=\mathbf{Q}$, and it is new otherwise. Exploring a method that should bear further fruits, we build it as a ratio of families of global and local Waldspurger zeta integrals, the latter constructed using the local Langlands correspondence in families. In an appendix of possibly independent recreational interest, we give a reality-TV-inspired proof of an identity concerning double factorials.
We compute the Archimedean doubling zeta integrals which appear in the interpolation formulas for the p-adic L-functions of Siegel modular forms, and verify that they agree with the modified Archimedean Euler factors for p-adic interpolation conjectured by Coates--Perrin-Riou.
We construct a meromorphic function on the eigencurve that interpolates a square root of the ratio of the central values of two quadratic twists of the $L$-function at classical points.
We construct the q-extension of the Hurwitz's type L-function which interpolates the q-extension of generalized Bernoulli polynomials attached to $chi$.
We develop the topological polylogarithm which provides an integral version of Nori's Eisenstein cohomology classes for $GL_n(\mathbf{Z})$ and yields classes with values in an Iwasawa algebra. This implies directly the integrality properties of special values of $L$-functions of totally real fields and a construction of the associated $p$-adic $L$-function. Using a result of Graf, we also apply this to prove some integrality and $p$-adic interpolation results for the Eisenstein cohomology of Hilbert modular varieties.
In the present paper, we deal with multiple generalized Genocchi numbers and polynomials. Also, we introduce analytic interpolating function for the multiple generalized Genocchi numbers attached to \c{hi} at negative integers in complex plane and we define the multiple Genocchi p-adic L-function. Finally, we derive the value of the partial derivative of our multiple p-adic l-function at s=0.
Let G be a reductive algebraic group over a number field k. It is shown how Emerton's methods may be applied to the problem of p-adically interpolating the metaplectic forms on G, i.e. the automorphic forms on metaplectic covers of G, as long as the metaplectic covers involved split at the infinite places of k.
In this paper we prove that the motivic Eisenstein classes associated to polylogarithms of commutative group schemes can be $p$-adically interpolated in étale cohomology. This generalizes results for elliptic curves obtained in our former work. Already for one dimensional commutative groups the results proved here are much more flexible as they allow to treat degeneration questions easily.
For any rational prime $p$, we define a certain $p$-stabilization of holomorphic Siegel Eisenstein series for the symplectic group ${\rm Sp}(2n)_{/\mathbb{Q}}$ of an arbitrary genus $n \ge 1$. In addition, we derive an explicit formula for the Fourier coefficients and conclude their $p$-adic interpolation problems. Consequently, for any odd prime $p$, we deduce the existence of a $Λ$-adic form (in the sense of A. Wiles, H. Hida and R.L. Taylor) such that after taking a suitable constant multiple, it interpolates $p$-adic analytic families of the above-mentioned $p$-stabilized Siegel Eisenstein…

Our objective in this series of two articles, of which the present article is the first, is to give a Perrin-Riou-style construction of $p$-adic $L$-functions (of Bellaïche and Stevens) over the eigencurve. As the first ingredient, we interpolate the Beilinson-Kato elements over the eigencurve (including the neighborhoods of $θ$-critical points). Along the way, we prove étale variants of Bellaïche's results describing the local properties of the eigencurve. We also develop the local framework to construct and establish the interpolative properties of these $p$-adic $L$-functions away from $θ$-…
We construct motivic cohomology classes attached to Rankin--Selberg convolutions of modular forms of weights $\ge 2$, show that these vary analytically in p-adic families, and relate their image under the p-adic regulator map to values of L-functions. As consequences, we prove new cases of Perrin-Riou's conjecture on motivic L-values; we prove finiteness results for Tate--Shafarevich groups for twists of elliptic curves by dihedral Artin characters; and we prove one inclusion in the Iwasawa main conjecture for a single modular form over an imaginary quadratic field.
In 2006, Fukaya and Kato formulated a general conjecture about $p$-adic $L$-functions for a large class of motives and derived a precise conjectural interpolation formula from the ETNC. We study this conjectural $p$-adic $L$-function in the setting of Hida families and compare it to the $p$-adic $L$-function constructed by Kitagawa. A priori it is not clear whether the interpolation formulas coincide, mainly because of the rather inexplicit definition of periods (via comparison isomorphisms) that appear in the general formula. Using $p$-adic Eichler-Shimura isomorphisms and their interpolation…
We give a new and representation theoretic construction of $p$-adic interpolation series for central values of self-dual Rankin-Selberg $L$-functions for $\operatorname{GL}_2$ in dihedral towers of CM fields, using expressions of these central values as automorphic periods. The main novelty of this construction, apart from the level of generality in which it works, is that it is completely local. We give the construction here for a cuspidal automorphic representation of $\operatorname{GL}_2$ over a totally real field corresponding to a $\mathfrak{p}$-ordinary Hilbert modular forms of parallel …
Let $f$ be a newform of even weight $2κ$ for $D^\times$, where $D$ is a possibly split indefinite quaternion algebra over $\mathbb{Q}$. Let $K$ be a quadratic imaginary field splitting $D$ and $p$ an odd prime split in $K$. We extend our theory of $p$-adic measures attached to the power series expansions of $f$ around the Galois orbit of the CM point corresponding to an embedding $K\hookrightarrow D$ to forms with any nebentypus and to $p$ dividing the level of $f$. For the latter we restrict our considerations to CM points corresponding to test objects endowed with an arithmetic $p$-level str…
We construct $p$-adic triple product $L$-functions that interpolate (square roots of) central critical $L$-values in the balanced region. Thus, our construction complements that of M. Harris and J. Tilouine. There are four central critical regions for the triple product $L$-functions and two opposite settings, according to the sign of the functional equation. In the first case, three of these regions are of interpolation, having positive sign; they are called the unbalanced regions and one gets three $p$% -adic $L$-functions, one for each region of interpolation (this is the Harris-Tilouine se…
Extending work of Bell and of Bell, Ghioca, and Tucker, we prove that for a p-adic analytic self-map f on a closed unit polydisk, if every coefficient of f(x)-x has valuation greater than that of p^{1/(p-1)}, then the iterates of f can be p-adically interpolated; i.e., there exists a function g(x,n) analytic in both x and n such that g(x,n) = f^n(x) whenever n is a nonnegative integer.
Ming-Lun Hsieh constructed three-variable triple product p-adic L-functions attached to triples of primitive Hida families and proved interpolation formulas. We generalize his result in the unbalanced case and construct a three-variable triple product p-adic L-function attached to a primitive Hida family and two more general p-adic families of modular forms.
Let x be a CM point on a modular or Shimura curve and p a prime of good reduction, split in the CM field K. We define an expansion of an holomorphic modular form f in the p-adic neighborhood of x and show that the expansion coefficients give information on the p-adic ring of definition of f. Also, we show that letting x vary in its Galois orbit, the expansions coefficients allow to construct a p-adic measure whose moments squared are essentially the values at the centre of symmetry of L-functions of the automorphic representation attached to f based-changed to K and twisted by a suitable famil…
In this article, we prove (many parts of) the rank two case of the Kato's local epsilon-conjecture using the Colmez's p-adic local Langlands correspondence for GL_2(Q_p). We show that a Colmez's pairing defined in his study of locally algebraic vectors gives us the conjectural epsilon-isomorphisms for (almost) all the families of p-adic representations of Gal(overline{Q}_p/Q_p) of rank two, which satisfy the desired interpolation property for the de Rham and trianguline case. For the de Rham and non trianguline case, we also show this interpolation property for the "critical" range of Hodge-Ta…
This article is the first of a pair of articles dealing with the Iwasawa theory of modular forms of weight 1 and, more generally, of Artin representations satisfying certain conditions. The main results in this part analyze the structure of certain Selmer groups for the Artin representation. In particular, it is shown that the Selmer groups are co-torsion as $Λ$-modules. For each Selmer group, we consider a generator of the characteristic ideal of its Pontrjagin dual. We call that the algebraic p-adic L-function. We also construct an analytic $p$-adic L-function via deformation to higher weigh…
Let p be a prime number, and let f, g, and h be three modular forms of weights $κ$, $λ$, and $μ$ for $SL(2,\Bbb{Z})$. We suppose $κ\geq λ+ μ$. In joint work with Kudla, one of the authors obtained a formula for the normalized {\it square root} of the value at $s = {1/2}(κ+ λ+ μ- 2)$ (the {\it central critical value}) of the triple product $L(s,f,g,h)$. We apply this formula, letting $f$ (and thus $κ$) vary in a $p$-adic analytic family ${\bold f}$ of ordinary modular forms (a Hida family). By modifying Hida's construction of the $p$-adic Rankin-Selberg convolution, we obtain a generalized $p$-…
We study the properties of Eisenstein-Kronecker numbers, which are related to special values of Hecke $L$-function of imaginary quadratic fields. We prove that the generating function of these numbers is a reduced (normalized or canonical in some literature) theta function associated to the Poincare bundle of an elliptic curve. We introduce general methods to study the algebraic and $p$-adic properties of reduced theta functions for CM abelian varieties. As a corollary, when the prime $p$ is ordinary, we give a new construction of the two-variable $p$-adic measure interpolating special values …
In this article, we study $p$-adic torus periods for certain $p$-adic valued functions on Shimura curves coming from classical origin. We prove a $p$-adic Waldspurger formula for these periods, generalizing the recent work of Bertolini, Darmon, and Prasanna. In pursuing such a formula, we construct a new anti-cyclotomic $p$-adic $L$-function of Rankin-Selberg type. At a character of positive weight, the $p$-adic $L$-function interpolates the central critical value of the complex Rankin-Selberg $L$-function. Its value at a Dirichlet character, which is outside the range of interpolation, essent…
We discuss the formalism of Iwasawa theory descent in the setting of the localized K_1-groups of Fukaya and Kato. We then prove interpolation formulas for the `leading terms' of the global Zeta isomorphisms that are associated to certain Tate motives and of the p-adic L-functions that are associated to certain critical motives.
In this article we study $p$-adic properties of sequences of integers (or $p$-adic integers) that satisfy a linear recurrence with constant coefficients. For such a sequence, we give an explicit approximate twisted interpolation to $\mathbb Z_p$. We then use this interpolation for two applications. The first is that certain subsequences of constant-recursive sequences converge $p$-adically. The second is that the density of the residues modulo $p^α$ attained by a constant-recursive sequence converges, as $α\to \infty$, to the Haar measure of a certain subset of $\mathbb Z_p$. To illustrate the…
Let $L$ be a field of characteristic zero, let $h:\mathbb{P}^1\to \mathbb{P}^1$ be a rational map defined over $L$, and let $c\in \mathbb{P}^1(L)$. We show that there exists a finitely generated subfield $K$ of $L$ over which both $c$ and $h$ are defined along with an infinite set of inequivalent non-archimedean completions $K_{\mathfrak{p}}$ for which there exists a positive integer $a=a(\mathfrak{p})$ with the property that for $i\in \{0,\ldots ,a-1\}$ there exists a power series $g_i(t)\in K_{\mathfrak{p}}[[t]]$ that converges on the closed unit disc of $K_{\mathfrak{p}}$ such that $h^{an+i…
We construct the three-variable p-adic triple product L-functions attached to Hida families of ellptic newforms and prove the explicit interpolation formulae at all critical specializations by establishing explicit Ichino's formulae for the trilinear period integrals of automorphic forms. Our formulae perfectly fit the conjectural shape of p-adic L-functions predicted by Coates and Perrin-Riou. As an application, we prove the factorization of certain unbalanced p-adic triple product L-functions into a product of anticyclotomic p-adic L-functions for modular forms. By this factorization, we giv…
Let $L/F$ be a quadratic extension of totally real number fields. For any prime $p$ unramified in $L$, we construct a $p$-adic $L$-function interpolating the central values of the twisted triple product $L$-functions attached to a $p$-nearly ordinary family of unitary cuspidal automorphic representations of $\text{Res}_{L\times F/F}(\text{GL}_{2})$. Furthermore, when $L/\mathbb{Q}$ is a real quadratic number field and $p$ is a split prime, we prove a $p$-adic Gross-Zagier formula relating the value of the $p$-adic $L$-function outside the range of interpolation to the syntomic Abel-Jacobi imag…
We construct p-adic L-functions associated to cuspidal Hilbert modular eigenforms of parallel weight two in certain dihedral or anticyclotomic extensions via the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence, generalizing works of Bertolini-Darmon, Vatsal and others. The construction given here is adelic, which allows us to deduce a precise interpolation formula from a Waldspurger type formula, as well as a formula for the dihedral mu-invariant. We also make a note of Howard's nonvanishing criterion for these p-adic L-functions, which can be used to reduce the associated Iwasawa main conjecture to a certai…
We describe the generic blocks in the category of smooth locally admissible mod $2$ representations of $\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathbb{Q}_2)$. As an application we obtain new cases of Breuil--Mézard and Fontaine--Mazur conjectures for $2$-dimensional $2$-adic Galois representations.
We prove that certain Galois-isotypic parts of the completed cohomology group for U(2) can be written as a completed tensor product of a representation coming from the p-adic Langlands correspondence for $GL_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)$ and a representation arising via the local Langlands correspondence in famillies of Emerton and Helm.
Let $F$ be a global function field of characteristic $p>0$ and $A/F$ an abelian variety. Let $K/F$ be an $ł$-adic Lie extension ($ł\neq p$) unramified outside a finite set of primes $S$ and such that $\Gal(K/F)$ has no elements of order $ł$. We shall prove that, under certain conditions, $Sel_A(K)_ł^\vee$ has no nontrivial pseudo-null submodule.
In this note we propose a new construction of cyclotomic p-adic L-functions attached to classical modular cuspidal eigenforms. This allows us to cover most known cases to date and provides a method which is amenable to generalizations to automorphic forms on arbitrary groups. In the classical setting of GL2 over Q this allows us to construct the p-adic L-function in the so far uncovered extremal case which arises under the unlikely hypothesis that p-th Hecke polynomial has a double root. Although Tate's conjecture implies that this case should never take place for GL2/Q, the obvious generaliza…
Let $X$ be a quotient of the modular curve $X_0(N)$ whose Jacobian $J_X$ is a simple factor of $J_0(N)^{new}$ over $\mathbb{Q}$. Let $f$ be the newform of level $N$ and weight 2 associated with $J_X$; assume $f$ has analytic rank 1. We give analytic methods for determining the rational points of $X$ using quadratic Chabauty by computing two $p$-adic Gross-Zagier formulas for $f$. Quadratic Chabauty requires a supply of rational points on the curve or its Jacobian; this new method eliminates this requirement. To achieve this, we give an algorithm to compute the special value of the anticyclotom…
Let $E$ be a rational elliptic curve and let $p$ be an odd prime of additive reduction. Let $K$ be an imaginary quadratic field and fix a positive integer $c$ prime to the conductor of $E$. The main goal of the present article is to define an anticyclotomic $p$-adic $L$-function $Ł$ attached to $E/K$ when $E/\QQ_p$ attains semistable reduction over an abelian extension. We prove that $Ł$ satisfies the expected interpolation properties; namely, we show that if $χ$ is an anticyclotomic character of conductor $cp^n$ then $χ(Ł)$ is equal (up to explicit constants) to $L(E,χ,1)$ or $L'(E,χ,1)$.
We develop a framework to investigate conjectures on congruences between the algebraic part of special values of $L$-functions of congruent motives. We show that algebraic local Euler factors satisfy precise interpolation properties in $p$-adic families of motives and that algebraic $p$-adic $L$-functions exist in quite large generality for $p$-adic families of automorphic motives. We formulate two conjectures refining (and correcting) the currently existing formulation of the Equivariant Tamagawa Number Conjecture with coefficients in Hecke algebras and pointing out the links between conjectu…
The main purpose of this note is to provide an algorithm for approximating the value of the balanced $p$-adic $L$-function, as constructed in [Hsi21], at the point $(2,1,1)$, which is lying outside of the interpolation region. The algorithmic procedure is obtained building on the work of [FM14] and considering finite length geodesics on the Bruhat--Tits tree for $GL_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)$. We are interested in the case where at least one of the Hida families is associated with an elliptic curve over the rationals and we further restrict ourselves to the case where only one finite local sign of the f…
We prove an analogue of the Tate isogeny conjecture and the semi-simplicity conjecture for overconvergent crystalline Dieudonné modules of abelian varieties defined over global function fields of characteristic $p$. As a corollary we deduce that monodromy groups of such overconvergent crystalline Dieudonné modules are reductive, and after a finite base change of coefficients their connected components are the same as the connected components of monodromy groups of Galois representations on the corresponding $l$-adic Tate modules, for $l$ different from $p$. We also show such a result for gener…
Let ${\mathbb Z}_p$ denote the ring of all $p$-adic integers and call $${\mathcal U}=\{(x_1,\ldots,x_n):\,a_1x_1+\ldots+a_nx_n+b=0\}$$ a hyperplane over ${\mathbb Z}_p^n$, where at least one of $a_1,\ldots,a_n$ is not divisible by $p$. We prove that if a sufficiently regular $n$-variable function is zero modulo $p^r$ over some suitable collection of $r$ hyperplanes, then it is zero modulo $p^r$ over the whole ${\mathbb Z}_p^n$. We provide various applications of this general criterion by establishing several $p$-adic analogues of hypergeometric identities.
Kobayashi recently proved that the generalized Heegner cycles of Bertolini--Darmon--Prasanna can be interpolated along the anticyclotomic tower, giving rise to distribution valued cohomology classes with expected growth rate. We interpolate these classes along Coleman families. This construction plays a role in the proofs of $p$-adic Gross--Zagier formulae at for non-ordinary eigenforms and consequentially, also in the proof of a conjecture of Perrin-Riou.
We complete the picture of local and global arithmetic duality theorems for short complexes of finite Galois modules and tori over $p$-adic function fields. In view of the duality theorems, we deduce a $12$-term Poitou--Tate exact sequence which relates global Galois cohomology groups to restricted topological products of local Galois cohomology groups.
