We prove that the commutation relations among the generators of the quadratic Heisenberg algebra of dimension $n\in\mathbb{N}$, look like a kind of \textit{non-commutative extension} of $\hbox{sl}(2, \mathbb{C})$ (more precisely of its unique $1$--dimensional central extension), denoted $\hbox{heis}_{2;\mathbb{C}}(n)$ and called the complex $n$--dimensional quadratic Boson algebra. This \textit{non-commutativity} has a different nature from the one considered in quantum groups. %In particular we prove that, for %most values of $n$, this Lie algebra cannot be isomorphic to %$\hbox{sl}(N, \mathbb{C})$ for almost any value of $N$. We prove the exponentiability of these algebras (for any $n$) in the Fock representation. We obtain the group multiplication law, in coordinates of the first and second kind, for the quadratic Boson group and we show that, in the case of the adjoint representation, these multiplication laws can be expressed in terms of a generalization of the Jordan multiplication. We investigate the connections between these two types of coordinates (disentangling formulas). From this we deduce a new proof of the expression of the vacuum characteristic function of homogeneous quadratic boson fields.
We consider a reducible unitary representation of Heisenberg-Weyl group in a tensor product of two Hilbert spaces. A non-commutative operator graph generated by this representation is introduced. It is shown that spectral projections of unitaries in the representation are anticliques (quantum error-correcting codes) for this graph. The obtained codes are appeared to be linear envelopes of entangled vectors.
A probability space is a pair ($\mathcal{A},ϕ$) where $\mathcal{A}$ is an algebra and $ϕ$ a state on the algebra. In classical probability $\mathcal{A}$ is the algebra of linear combinations of indicator functions on the sample space and in quantum probability $\mathcal{A}$ is the Heisenberg or Clifford algebra. However, other algebras are of interest in non-commutative probability. Here one discusses some other non-commutative probability spaces, in particular those associated to non-commutative space-time.
We investigate properties of the covariance matrix in the framework of non-commutative quantum mechanics for an one-parameter family of transformations between the familiar Heisenberg-Weyl algebra and a particular extension of it. Employing as a measure of the Robertson-Schrödinger uncertainty principle the linear symplectic capacity of the Weyl ellipsoid (and its dual), we determine its corresponding bounds. Inequalities between the capacities for non-commutative phase-spaces are established. We also present a constructive example based on a simple model to justify our theoretical predictions…
We continue the study of non-commutative operator graphs generated by resolutions of identity covariant with respect to unitary actions of the circle group and the Heisenber-Weyl group as well. It is shown that the graphs generated by the circle group has the system of unitary generators fulfilling permutations of basis vectors. For the graph generated by the Heisenberg-Weyl group the explicit formula for a dimension is given. Thus, we found a new description of the linear structure for the operator graphs introduced in our previous works.
We studied the continuity equation in presence of a local potential, and a non-local potential arising from electron-electron interaction in both commutative and non-commutative phase-space. Furthermore, we examined the influence of the phase-space non-commutativity on both the locality and the non-locality, where the definition of current density in commutative phase-space cannot satisfy the condition of current conservation, but with the steady state, in order to solve this problem, we give a new definition of the current density including the contribution due to the non-local potential. We …
Heisenberg groups over algebras with central involution and their automorphism groups are constructed. The complex quaternion group algebra over a prime field is used as an example. Its subspaces provide finite models for each of the real and complex quadratic spaces with dimension 4 or less. A model for the representations of these Heisenberg groups and automorphism groups is constructed. A pseudo-differential operator enables a parallel treatment of spaces defined over finite and real fields.
Holomorphic functions that characterize states in a two-dimensional Landau level been central to key developments such as the Laughlin state. Their origin has historically been attributed to a special property of "Schrödinger wavefunctions" of states in the "lowest Landau level". It is shown here that they instead arise in any Landau level as a generic mathematical property of the Heisenberg description of the non-commutative geometry of guiding centers. When quasiperiodic boundary conditions are applied to compactify the system on a torus, a new formula for the overlap between holomorphic sta…
When aiming to apply mathematical results of non-commutative geometry to physical problems the question arises how they translate to a context in which only a part of the spectrum is known. In this article we aim to detect when a finite-dimensional triple is the truncation of the Dirac spectral triple of a spin manifold. To that end, we numerically investigate the restriction that the higher Heisenberg equation [A. H. Chamseddine, A. Connes, and V. Mukhanov, Journal of High Energy Physics, 98 (2014)] places on a truncated Dirac operator. We find a bounded perturbation of the Dirac operator on …
We present an approach to $U_\star(N)$ Yang-Mills theory in non-commutative space based upon a novel phase-space analysis of the dynamical fields with additional auxiliary variables that generate Lorentz structure and colour degrees of freedom. To illustrate this formalism we compute the quadratic terms in the effective action focusing on the planar divergences so as to extract the $β$-function for the Yang-Mills coupling constant. Nonetheless the method presented is general and can be applied to calculate the effective action at arbitrary order of expansion in the coupling constant, including…
