Let $$ ζ_E(s,q)=\sum_{n=0}^\infty\frac{(-1)^n}{(n+q)^{s}} $$ be the alternating Hurwitz (or Hurwitz-type Euler) zeta function.
In this paper, we obtain the following asymptotic expansion of $ζ_{E}(s,q)$ $$ ζ_E(s,q)\sim\frac12 q^{-s}+\frac14sq^{-s-1}-\frac12q^{-s}\sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{E_{2k+1}(0)}{(2k+1)!}\frac{(s)_{2k+1}}{q^{2k+1}}, $$ as $|q|\to\infty$, where $E_{2k+1}(0)$ are the special values of odd-order Euler polynomials at 0, and we also consider representations and bounds for the remainder of the above asymptotic expansion. In addition, we derive the asymptotic expansions for the higher order derivatives of $ζ_{E}(s,q)$ with respect to its first argument $$ζ_{E}^{(m)}(s,q)\equiv\frac{\partial^m}{\partial s^m}ζ_E(s,q),$$ as $|q|\to\infty$. Finally, we also prove a new exact series representation of $ζ_{E}(s,q)$.
We obtain a new proof of Hurwitz's formula for the Hurwitz zeta function $ζ(s, a)$ beginning with Hermite's formula. The aim is to reveal a nice connection between $ζ(s, a)$ and a special case of the Lommel function $S_{μ, ν}(z)$. This connection is used to rephrase a modular-type transformation involving infinite series of Hurwitz zeta function in terms of those involving Lommel functions.
The definition for the $p$-adic Hurwitz-type Euler zeta functions has been given by using the fermionic $p$-adic integral on $\mathbb Z_p$. By computing the values of this kind of $p$-adic zeta function at negative integers, we show that it interpolates the Euler polynomials $p$-adically. Many properties are provided for the $p$-adic Hurwitz-type Euler zeta functions, including the convergent Laurent series expansion, the distribution formula, the functional equation, the reflection formula, the derivative formula, the $p$-adic Raabe formula and so on. The definition for the $p$-adic Euler $L$…
In this paper we establish a new summation method by expanding $\prod_{k}(1-\frac{z}{a_{k}})^{-1}$ with two approaches: the Taylor expansion and the infinite partial fraction decomposition. Here we focus on the case when $a_{k}$ is arithmetic sequence. By this summation we obtain many equalities involve Hurwitz zeta function and Gammma function.
We consider some closed-form evaluations of certain infinite sums involving the Hurwitz zeta function $ζ(s,α)$ of the form \[\sum_{k=1}^\infty (\pm 1)^k k^m ζ(s,k),\] where $m$ is a non-negative integer. For the sums with $m=0$ and the argument $k$ in $ζ(s,k)$ replaced by $ka+b$, where $a$ and $b$ are positive parameters, we also obtain a transformation formula suitable for computation in the limit $a\to0$.
Inspired by a famous formula of Ramanujan for odd zeta values, we prove an analogous formula involving the Hurwitz zeta function. We introduce a new integral kernel related to the Hurwitz zeta function, generalizing the integral kernel associated to Ramanujan's identity. We also derive several infinite families of identities analogous to Ramanujan's formula.
We present several formulae for the large-$t$ asymptotics of the modified Hurwitz zeta function $ζ_1(x,s),x>0,s=σ+it,0<σ\leq1,t>0,$ which are valid to all orders. In the case of $x=0$, these formulae reduce to the asymptotic expressions recently obtained for the Riemann zeta function, which include the classical results of Siegel as a particular case.
In this paper, we provide an alternative method to calculate the values of generalized multiple Hurwitz zeta function at non-positive integers by means of \emph{Raabe}'s formula and the \textit{Bernoulli} numbers.
Using the Jackson integral, we obtain the $q$-integral analogue of the Raabe type formulas for Barnes multiple Hurwitz-Lerch zeta functions and Barnes and Vardi's multiple gamma functions. Our results generalize $q$-integral analogue of the Raabe type formulas for the Hurwitz zeta functions and log gamma functions in [N. Kurokawa, K. Mimachi, and M. Wakayama, Jackson's integral of the Hurwitz zeta function, Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo (2) 56 (2007), no. 1, 43--56]. During the proof we also obtain a new formula on the relationship between the higher and lower orders Hurwitz zeta functions.
We give a result on the asymptotic behavior of the Hurwitz-Lerch multiple zeta functions near non-positive integer points by using the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials. From this result, we can evaluate limit values at non-positive integer points.
In 1900, at the international congress of mathematicians, Hilbert claimed that the Riemann zeta function $ζ(s)$ is not the solution of any algebraic ordinary differential equations on its region of analyticity. In 2015, Van Gorder considered the question of whether $ζ(s)$ satisfies a non-algebraic differential equation and showed that it formally satisfies an infinite order linear differential equation. Recently, Prado and Klinger-Logan extended Van Gorder's result to show that the Hurwitz zeta function $ζ(s,a)$ is also formally satisfies a similar differential equation \begin{equation*}\label…
In this note we prove that for all $a \in \mathbb{N}$, $x \in \mathbb{R}_+ \cup \{0\}$, and $s \in \mathbb{C}$ with $\Re(s) > a + 2$, the (alternating) weighted series of the Hurwitz zeta function, $$ \sum_{k \geq 1} (\pm 1)^k (k + x)^aζ(s,k + x), $$ resolves into a finite combination of Hurwitz (Lerch) zeta functions. This applies in Marichal and Zenaïdi's theory on analogues of the Bohr-Mollerup theorem for higher-order convex functions.
We study the value-distribution of the Hurwitz zeta-function with algebraic irrational parameter $ζ(s;α)=\sum_{n\geq_0}(n+α)^{-s}$. In particular, we prove effective denseness results of the Hurwitz zeta-function and its derivatives in suitable strips containing the right boundary of the critical strip $1+i\mathbb{R}$. This may be considered as a first "weak" manifestation of universality for those zeta-functions.
Several relations are obtained among the Riemann zeta and Hurwitz zeta functions, as well as their products. A particular case of these relations give rise to a simple re-derivation if the important results of [11]. Also, a relation derived here provides the starting point of a novel approach which in a series of companion papers yields a formal proof of the Lindelöf hypothesis. Some of the above relations motivate the need for analysing the large $α$ behaviour of the modified Hurwitz zeta function $ζ_1(s,α)$, $s\in \mathbf{C}$, $α\in \mathbf{R}$, which is also presented here.
Semigroup's series for negative degrees of the gaps values in numerical semigroups generated by two integers and identities for the Hurwitz zeta functions
We study the moments $M_k(T;α) = \int_T^{2T} |ζ(s,α)|^{2k}\,dt$ of the Hurwitz zeta function $ζ(s,α)$ on the critical line, $s = 1/2 + it$ with a rational shift $α\in \mathbb Q$. We conjecture, in analogy with the Riemann zeta function, that $M_k(T;α) \sim c_k(α) T (\log T)^{k^2}$ . Using heuristics from analytic number theory and random matrix theory, we conjecturally compute $c_k(α)$. In the process, we investigate moments of products of Dirichlet $L$-functions on the critical line. We prove our conjectures for the cases $k = 1,2$.
Let $K$ be a compact set with connected complement on the half-plane Re$(s)>0$, and let $f$ be a continuous function on $K$ which is analytic in its interior. We prove that for any parameter $0<α<1, α\neq \frac 1 2$ then $f(s)$ may be uniformly approximated arbitrarily closely by $ζ(1+iT+iδs,α)$ on $K$ for some $T,δ>0$, where $ζ(s,α)$ denote the Hurwitz zeta-function. This is the first known universality result that is also known to hold for the Hurwitz zeta-function with an algebraic irrational parameter.
