This paper studies classical weight modules over the $\imath$quantum group $\mathbf{U}^{\imath}$ of type AI. We introduce the notion of based $\mathbf{U}^{\imath}$-modules by generalizing the notion of based modules over the quantum groups. We prove that each finite-dimensional irreducible classical weight $\mathbf{U}^{\imath}$-module with integer highest weight is a based $\mathbf{U}^{\imath}$-module. As a byproduct, a new combinatorial formula for the branching rule from $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ to $\mathfrak{so}_n$ is obtained.
$\imath$quantum groups are generalizations of quantum groups which appear as coideal subalgebras of quantum groups in the theory of quantum symmetric pairs. In this paper, we define the notion of classical weight modules over an $\imath$quantum group, and study their properties along the lines of the representation theory of weight modules over a quantum group. In several cases, we classify the finite-dimensional irreducible classical weight modules by a highest weight theory.
In order to see the behavior of $\imath$canonical bases at $q = \infty$, we introduce the notion of $\imath$crystals associated to an $\imath$quantum group of certain quasi-split type. The theory of $\imath$crystals clarifies why $\imath$canonical basis elements are not always preserved under natural homomorphisms. Also, we construct a projective system of $\imath$crystals whose projective limit can be thought of as the $\imath$canonical basis of the modified $\imath$quantum group at $q = \infty$.
For $\imath$quantum covering groups $(\mathbf{U}, \mathbf{U}^\imath)$ of super Kac-Moody type, we construct $\imath$-canonical bases for the highest weight integrable $\mathbf{U}$-modules and their tensor products regarded as $\mathbf{U}^\imath$-modules, as well as a canonical basis for the modified form of the $\imath$quantum group $\mathbf{U}^\imath$, using the $\imath^π$-divided powers, rank one canonical basis for $\mathbf{U}^\imath$.
We establish automorphisms with closed formulas on quasi-split $\imath$quantum groups of symmetric Kac-Moody type associated to restricted Weyl groups. The proofs are carried out in the framework of $\imath$Hall algebras and reflection functors, thanks to the $\imath$Hall algebra realization of $\imath$quantum groups in our previous work. Several quantum binomial identities arising along the way are established.
Let $(\bf U, \bf U^\imath)$ be a quantum symmetric pair of Kac-Moody type. The $\imath$quantum groups $\bf U^\imath$ and the universal $\imath$quantum groups $\widetilde{\bf U}^\imath$ can be viewed as a generalization of quantum groups and Drinfeld doubles $\widetilde{\bf U}$. In this paper we formulate and establish Serre-Lusztig relations for $\imath$quantum groups in terms of $\imath$divided powers, which are an $\imath$-analog of Lusztig's higher order Serre relations for quantum groups. This has applications to braid group symmetries on $\imath$quantum groups.
For the quantum symmetric pair $(\textbf{U}, \textbf{U}^{\imath})$ of type AIII/AIV, we show various positivity properties of the $\imath$-canonical bases on finite-dimensional simple $\textbf{U}$-modules, as well as their tensor product.
The existence of the $\imath$-canonical basis (also known as the $\imath$-divided powers) for the coideal subalgebra of the quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ were established by Bao and Wang, with conjectural explicit formulae. In this paper we prove the conjectured formulae of these $\imath$-divided powers. This is achieved by first establishing closed formulae of the $\imath$-divided powers in basis for quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and then formulae for the $\imath$-canonical basis in terms of Lusztig's divided powers in each finite-dimensional simple module of quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. These formulae…
We give a new, conceptual proof of the $\imath$Serre and Serre-Lusztig relations for $\imath$quantum groups. The key to our approach is a new formula for the comultiplication of the $\imath$-divided powers, which allows us to reformulate the relations in terms of the adjoint action. We then obtain a proof using properties of the adjoint representation. The flexibility of this approach allows us to establish a more general family of relations which seem difficult to establish otherwise.
A quantum symmetric pair consists of a quantum group $\mathbf U$ and its coideal subalgebra ${\mathbf U}^{\imath}_{\boldsymbolς}$ (called an $\imath$quantum group) with parameters ${\boldsymbolς}$. In this note, we use the derived Hall algebras of 1-periodic complexes to realize the $\imath$quantum groups ${\mathbf U}^{\imath}_{\boldsymbolς}$ of split type.
Let $(\bf U, \bf U^\imath)$ be a quasi-split quantum symmetric pair of arbitrary Kac-Moody type, where "quasi-split" means the corresponding Satake diagram contains no black node. We give a presentation of the $\imath$quantum group $\bf U^\imath$ with explicit $\imath$Serre relations. The verification of new $\imath$Serre relations is reduced to some new q-binomial identities. Consequently, $\bf U^\imath$ is shown to admit a bar involution under suitable conditions on the parameters.
Recently, Lu and Wang formulated a Drinfeld type presentation for $\imath$quantum group $\widetilde{\mathbf U}^\imath$ arising from quantum symmetric pairs of split affine ADE type. In this paper, we generalize their results by establishing a current presentation for $\widetilde{\mathbf U}^\imath$ of arbitrary split affine type.
let $\widetilde{\bf U}^\imath$ be a quasi-split universal $\imath$quantum group associated to a quantum symmetric pair $(\widetilde{\bf U}, \widetilde{\bf U}^\imath)$ of Kac-Moody type with a diagram involution $τ$. We establish the Serre-Lusztig relations for $\widetilde{\bf U}^\imath$ associated to a simple root $i$ such that $i \neq τi$, complementary to the Serre-Lusztig relations associated to $i=τi$ which we obtained earlier. A conjecture on braid group symmetries on $\widetilde{\bf U}^\imath$ associated to $i$ disjoint from $τi$ is formulated.
The $\imath$Serre relations and the corresponding Serre-Lusztig relations are formulated and established for arbitrary $\imath$quantum groups arising from quantum symmetric pairs of Kac-Moody type.
For quantum symmetric pairs $(\mathbf{U}, \textbf{U}^\imath)$ of Kac-Moody type, we construct $\imath$canonical bases for the highest weight integrable $\mathbf{U}$-modules and their tensor products regarded as $\mathbf{U}^\imath$-modules, as well as an $\imath$canonical basis for the modified form of the $\imath$quantum group $\mathbf{U}^\imath$. A key new ingredient is a family of explicit elements called $\imath$divided powers, which are shown to generate the integral form of $\dot{\bf{U}}^\imath$. We prove a conjecture of Balagovic-Kolb, removing a major technical assumption in the theory …
We introduce the notion of $\imath$Schur superalgebra, which can be regarded as a type B/C counterpart of the $q$-Schur superalgebra (of type A) formulated as centralizer algebras of certain signed $q$-permutation modules over Hecke algebras. Some multiplication formulas for $\imath$Schur superalgebra are obtained to construct their canonical bases. Furthermore, we established an isomorphism theorem between the $\imath$Scuhr superalgebras and the $q$-Schur superalgebras of type A, which helps us derive a semisimplicity criteria of the $\imath$Schur superalgebras.
The $\imath$-divided powers (depending on a parity) form the $\imath$canonical basis for the split rank 1 $\imath$quantum group and they are a basic ingredient for $\imath$quantum groups of higher rank. We obtain closed formulae for the structure constants for multiplication of the $\imath$-divided powers. Closed formulae for the comultiplication of the $\imath$-divided powers are also obtained. These structure constants are integral and positive.
We establish a Drinfeld type new presentation for the $\imath$quantum groups arising from quantum symmetric pairs of split affine ADE type, which includes the $q$-Onsager algebra as the rank 1 case. This presentation takes a form which can be viewed as a deformation of half an affine quantum group in the Drinfeld presentation.
We initiate a general approach to the relative braid group symmetries on (universal) $\imath$quantum groups, arising from quantum symmetric pairs of arbitrary finite types, and their modules. Our approach is built on new intertwining properties of quasi $K$-matrices which we develop and braid group symmetries on (Drinfeld double) quantum groups. Explicit formulas for these new symmetries on $\imath$quantum groups are obtained. We establish a number of fundamental properties for these symmetries on $\imath$quantum groups, strikingly parallel to their well-known quantum group counterparts. We ap…
We develop a general theory of canonical bases for quantum symmetric pairs $(\mathbf{U}, \mathbf{U}^\imath)$ with parameters of arbitrary finite type. We construct new canonical bases for the simple integrable $\mathbf{U}$-modules and their tensor products regarded as $\mathbf{U}^\imath$-modules. We also construct a canonical basis for the modified form of the $\imath$quantum group $\mathbf{U}^\imath$. To that end, we establish several new structural results on quantum symmetric pairs, such as bilinear forms, braid group actions, integral forms, Levi subalgebras (of real rank one), and integra…
It has been known since their birth in Bao and Wang's work that the $\imath$canonical bases of $\imath$quantum groups are not stable in general. In the author's previous work, the stability of $\imath$canonical bases of certain quasi-split types turned out to be closely related to the theory of $\imath$crystals. In this paper, we prove the stability of $\imath$canonical bases of irreducible finite type of real rank $1$, for which the theory of $\imath$crystals has not been developed, by means of global and local crystal bases.
For an essentially small hereditary abelian category $\mathcal{A}$, we define a new kind of algebra $\mathcal{H}_Δ(\mathcal{A})$, called the $Δ$-Hall algebra of $\mathcal{A}$. The basis of $\mathcal{H}_Δ(\mathcal{A})$ is the isomorphism classes of objects in $\mathcal{A}$, and the $Δ$-Hall numbers calculate certain three-cycles of exact sequences in $\mathcal{A}$. We show that the $Δ$-Hall algebra $\mathcal{H}_Δ(\mathcal{A})$ is isomorphic to the 1-periodic derived Hall algebra of $\mathcal{A}$. By taking suitable extension and twisting, we can obtain the $\imath$Hall algebra and the semi-deri…
Expanding the classical work of Kazhdan-Lusztig, we construct a bar involution and canonical bases on the $q$-Brauer algebra introduced by Wenzl. We define explicit actions of the $q$-Brauer algebra on the tensor spaces, and formulate $\imath$Schur dualities between the $q$-Brauer algebra and the $\imath$quantum groups of type AI and AII respectively.
In these lecture notes for a summer mini-course, we provide an exposition on quantum groups and Hecke algebras, including (quasi) R-matrix, canonical basis, and $q$-Schur duality. Then we formulate their counterparts in the setting of $\imath$quantum groups arising from quantum symmetric pairs, including (quasi) K-matrix, $\imath$-canonical basis, and $\imath$Schur duality. As an application, the ($\imath$-)canonical bases are used to formulate Kazhdan-Lusztig theories and character formulas in the BGG categories for Lie (super)algebras of type A-D. Finally, geometric constructions for $q$-Sch…
We generalize a construction in [BW18] (arXiv:1610.09271) by showing that the tensor product of a based $\textbf{U}^{\imath}$-module and a based $\textbf{U}$-module is a based $\textbf{U}^{\imath}$-module. This is then used to formulate a Kazhdan-Lusztig theory for an arbitrary parabolic BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ of the ortho-symplectic Lie superalgebras, extending a main result in [BW13] (arXiv:1310.0103).
Let $G_k$ be a connected reductive algebraic group over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $\neq 2$. Let $K_k \subset G_k$ be a quasi-split symmetric subgroup of $G_k$ with respect to an involution $θ_k$ of $G_k$. The classification of such involutions is independent of the characteristic of $k$ (provided not $2$). We first construct a closed subgroup scheme $\mathbf{G}^\imath$ of the Chevalley group scheme $\mathbf{G}$ over $\mathbb{Z}$. The pair $(\mathbf{G}, \mathbf{G}^\imath)$ parameterizes symmetric pairs of the given type over any algebraically closed field of characteri…
From a quantum $K$-matrix of the fundamental representation, we construct one for the Kirillov-Reshetikhin module by fusion construction. Using the $\imath$crystal theory by the last author, we also obtain combinatorial $K$-matrices corresponding to the symmetric tensor representations of affine type $A$ for all quasi-split Satake diagrams.
A quantum symmetric pair is a quantization of the symmetric pair of universal enveloping algebras. Recent development suggests that most of the theory for quantum groups can be generalised to the setting of quantum symmetric pairs. In this paper, we study the $\imath$quantum group at roots of $1$. We generalize Lusztig's quantum Frobenius morphism in this new setting. We define the small $\imath$quantum group and compute its dimension.
We develop a geometric approach toward an interplay between a pair of quantum Schur algebras of arbitrary finite type. Then by Beilinson-Lusztig-MacPherson's stabilization procedure in the setting of partial flag varieties of type A (resp. type B/C), the Howe duality between a pair of quantum general linear groups (resp. a pair of $\imath$quantum groups of type AIII/IV) is established. The Howe duality for quantum general linear groups has been provided via quantum coordinate algebras in [Z02]. We also generalize this algebraic approach to $\imath$quantum groups of type AIII/IV, and prove that…
