We show that any unique global solution (here we do not require any smallness condition beforehand) to 3-D axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations in some scaling invariant spaces must eventually become a small solution. In particular, we show that the limits of $\|ω^θ(t)/r\|_{L^1}$ and $\|u^θ(t)/\sqrt r\|_{L^2}$ are all $0$ as $t$ tends to infinity. And by using this, we can refine some decay estimates for the axisymmetric solutions.
In the note, a local regularity condition for axisymmetric solutions to the non-stationary 3D Navier-Stokes equations is proven. It reads that axially symmetric energy solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations have no Type I blowups.
In the note, a new regularity condition for axisymmetric solutions to the non-stationary 3D Navier-Stokes equations is proven. It is slightly supercritical.
In the paper, a new {\it slightly supercritical} condition, providing {\it local} regularity of axially symmetric solutions to the non-stationary 3D Navier-Stokes equations, is discussed. It generalises almost all known results in the local regularity theory of weak axisymmetric solutions.
We consider a family of 3D models for the axi-symmetric incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The models are derived by changing the strength of the convection terms in the axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations written using a set of transformed variables. We prove the global regularity of the family of models in the case that the strength of convection is slightly stronger than that of the original Navier-Stokes equations, which demonstrates the potential stabilizing effect of convection.
We study the asymptotic behavior of axisymmetric solutions with no swirl to the steady Navier-Stokes equations in the outside of the cylinder. We prove an a priori decay estimate of the vorticity under the assumption that the velocity has generalized finite Dirichlet integral. As an application, we obtain a Liouville-type theorem.

In this note, a new local regularity criteria for the axisymmetric solutions to the 3D Navier--Stokes equations is investigated. It is slightly supercritical and implies an upper bound for the oscillation of $Γ=r u^θ$: for any $0< τ<1$, there exists a constant $c>0$, $$ |Γ(r,x_{3},t)|\leq N e^{-c\, |\ln r|^τ},\ 0<r\leq \frac{1}{4}. $$
We point out some criteria that imply regularity of axisymmetric solutions to Navier-Stokes equations. We show that boundedness of $\|{v_{r}}/{\sqrt{r^3}}\|_{L_2({\rm R}^3\times (0,T))}$ as well as boundedness of $\|{ω_φ}/{\sqrt{r}}\|_{L_2({\rm R}^3\times (0,T))},$ where $v_r$ is the radial component of velocity and $ω_φ$ is the angular component of vorticity, imply regularity of weak solutions.
We show that the Navier-Stokes as well as a random perturbation of this equation can be derived from a stochastic variational principle where the pressure is introduced as a Lagrange multiplier. Moreover we describe how to obtain corresponding constants of the motion.
In this paper, we rigorously derive the compressible one-fluid Navier-Stokes equation from the scaled compressible two-fluid Navier-Stokes-Maxwell equations locally in time under the assumption that the initial data are well prepared. We justify the singular limit by proving the uniform decay of the error system, which is obtained by elaborate energy estimates.
Global Existence and Incompressible Limit for the Three-Dimensional Axisymmetric Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations with Large Bulk Viscosity and Large Initial Data
The three-dimensional Navier-Stokes-$α$ model for fast rotating geophysical fluids is considered. The Navier-Stokes-$α$ model is a nonlinear dispersive regularization of the exact Navier-Stokes equations obtained by Lagrangian averaging and tend to the Navier-Stokes equations as $α\rightarrow 0^+$. We estimate upper bounds for the dimensions of global attractors and study the dependence of the dimensions on the parameter $α$. All the estimates are uniform in $α$, and our estimate of attractor dimensions remain finite when $α\rightarrow 0^+$.
We consider a family of weights which permit to generalize the Leray procedure to obtain weak suitable solutions of the 3D incom-pressible Navier-Stokes equations with initial data in weighted L 2 spaces. Our principal result concerns the existence of regular global solutions when the initial velocity is an axisymmetric vector field without swirl such that both the initial velocity and its vorticity belong to L 2 ((1 + r 2) -- $γ$ 2 dx), with r = x 2 1 + x 2 2 and $γ$ $\in$ (0, 2).
We classify all (-1)-homogeneous axisymmetric no-swirl solutions of incompressible stationary Navier-Stokes equations in three dimension which are smooth on the unit sphere minus the south and north poles, parameterizing them as a four dimensional surface with boundary in appropriate function spaces. Then we establish smoothness properties of the solution surface in the four parameters. The smoothness properties will be used in a subsequent paper where we study the existence of (-1)-homogeneous axisymmetric solutions with non-zero swirl on $\mathbb{S}^2\setminus\{S,N\}$, emanating from the fou…
By applying the delicate \textit{a priori} estimates for the equations of $(Φ,Γ)$, which is introduced in the previous work, we obtain some multi-scale regularity criteria of the swirl component $u^θ$ for the 3D axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations. In particularly, the solution $\mathbf{u}$ can be continued beyond the time $T$, provided that $u^θ$ satiesfies $$ u^θ \in L^{p}_{T}L^{q_{v}}_{v}L^{q_{h},w}_{h},~~\frac{2}{p}+\frac{1}{q_{v}}+\frac{2}{q_{h}}\leq 1, ~2<q_{h}\leq\infty,~\frac{1}{q_{v}}+\frac{2}{q_{h}}<1. $$
We study Caccioppoli's inequalities of the non-stationary Stokes equations and Navier-Stokes equations. Our analysis is local near boundary and we prove that, in contrast to the interior case, the Caccioppoli's inequalities of the Stokes equations and the Navier-Stokes equations, in general, fail near boundary.
An algebraic upper bound for the decay rate of solutions to the Navier-Stokes and Navier-Stokes-Coriolis equations in the critical space $\dot{H} ^{\frac{1}{2}} (\mathbb{R} ^3)$ is derived using the Fourier Splitting Method. Estimates are framed in terms of the decay character of initial data, leading to solutions with algebraic decay and showing in detail the roles played by the linear and nonlinear parts.
In this paper, we first prove the global well-posedness of a scaled anisotropic Navier-Stokes system and the hydrostatic Navier-Stokes system in a 2-D striped domain with small analytic data in the tangential variable. Then we justify the limit from the anisotropic Navier-Stokes system to the hydrostatic Navier-Stokes system with analytic data.
In this paper, we shall establish the global well-posedness, the space-time analyticity of the Navier-Stokes equations for a class of large periodic data $u_0 \in BMO^{-1}(\mathbb{R}^3)$. This improves the classical result of Koch \& Tataru \cite{koch-tataru}, for the global well-posedness with small initial data $u_0 \in BMO^{-1}(\mathbb{R}^n)$.
We study the stationary Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations with non-homogeneous Navier boundary condition in a bounded domain $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^{3}$ of class $\mathcal{C}^{1,1}$. We prove existence, uniqueness of weak and strong solutions in $\mathbf{W}^{1,p}(Ω)$ and $\mathbf{W}^{2,p}(Ω)$ for all $1<p<\infty$ considering minimal regularity on the friction coefficient $α$. Moreover, we deduce uniform estimates on the solution with respect to $α$ which enables us to analyze the behavior of the solution when $α\rightarrow \infty$.
We introduce a framework to justify hydrodynamic limits of the Vlasov-Navier-Stokes system. We specifically study high friction regimes, which take into account the fact that particles of the dispersed phase are light (resp. small) compared to the fluid part, and lead to the derivation of Transport-Navier-Stokes (resp. Inhomogeneous Navier-Stokes) systems.
Fundamental solutions to the time-periodic Stokes and Oseen linearizations of the Navier-Stokes equations in dimension $n\geq 2$ are investigated. Integrability properties and pointwise estimates are established.
In this paper, we justify the limit from the Navier-Stokes system in a thin domain to the hydrostatic Navier-Stokes/Prandtl system for the convex initial data with Gevrey 9/8 regualrity in $x$.
These notes are dedicated to the analysis of the one-dimensional free-congested Navier-Stokes equations. After a brief synthesis of the results obtained in [4] related to the existence and the asymptotic stability of partially congested profiles associated to the soft congestion Navier-Stokes system, we present a first local well-posedness result for the one-dimensional free-congested Navier-Stokes equations.
In this paper, we study the upper bound of the time decay rate of solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations and generalized Navier-Stokes equations with damping term $|u|^{β-1}u$ ($β>1$) in $\mathbb{R}^3$.
We study 2D Navier-Stokes equations with a constraint on $L^2$ energy of the solution. We prove the existence and uniqueness of a global solution for the constrained Navier-Stokes equation on $\R^2$ and $\T$, by a fixed point argument. We also show that the solution of constrained Navier-Stokes converges to the solution of Euler equation as viscosity $ν$ vanishes.
We prove in this paper a decay estimate for scaling invariant local energy solutions for some toy-models related to the incompressible Navier-Stokes system.
A Liouville type theorem is proven for the steady-state Navier-Stokes equations. It follows from the corresponding theorem on the Stokes equations with the drift. The drift is supposed to belong to a certain Morrey space.
In this paper, we study the low Mach number limit of the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations with revised Maxwell law. By applying the uniform estimation of the error system, we prove that the solutions of the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations with time relaxation converge to that of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations as the Mach number tends to zero. Moreover, the convergence rates are also obtained.
