We consider the transport properties of a model of fermions scattered by a critical bosonic mode. The mode is overdamped and scattering is mainly in the forward direction. Such a mode appears at the quantum critical point for a electronic nematic phase transition, and in gauge theories for a U(1) spin liquid. It leads to a short fermion life-time, violating Landau's criterion for a Fermi liquid. In spite of this, transport can be described by a Boltzmann equation. We include momentum relaxation by umklapp scattering, supplemented by weak impurity scattering. We find that above a very low temperature which scales with $Δ_q^3$, where $Δ_q$ is the minimum umklapp scattering vector, the resistivity is linear in $T$ with a coefficient which is independent of the amount of disorder. We compare the relaxation time approximation with an exact numerical solution of the Boltzmann equation. Surprisingly we find that unlike the resistivity, the Hall Coefficient strongly deviates from the relaxation time approximation and shows a strong reduction with increasing temperature. We comment on possible comparisons with experiments on high $T_c$ Cuprates.
The electrical resistivity of Fermi liquids (FLs) displays a quadratic temperature ($T$) dependence because of electron-electron (e-e) scattering. For such collisions to decay the charge current, there are two known mechanisms: inter-band scattering (identified by Baber) and Umklapp events. However, dilute metallic strontium titanate (STO) was found to display $T^2$ resistivity in absence of either of these two mechanisms. The presence of soft phonons and their possible role as scattering centers raised the suspicion that $T$-square resistivity in STO is not due to e-e scattering. Here, we pre…
We consider clean metals, at finite temperature, in which the inelastic rate, $\hbar/ τ_{ee}$, can become of the order of, or larger, than the band splitting energy. We show that in suchsystems, contrary to the common knowledge, the umklapp scattering rate becomes independent of both $τ_{ee}$ and the temperature $T,$ in three dimensional systems. We discuss the relation of this phenomenon to the saturation of resistivity at high temperature.
A role of umklapp scattering has been examined for two-coupled chains with both forward and backward scatterings by applying renormalization group method to bosonized Hamiltonian. It has been found that a state with relevant interchain hopping changes into a state with irrelevant (confined) one when the magnitude of umklapp scattering becomes larger than that of interchain hopping. Critical value of umklapp scattering for such a confinement-deconfinement transition is calculated as the function of interchain hopping and intrachain interactions. A crossover from one-dimensional regime into that…
The effects of Umklapp scattering on electronic states are studied in one spatial dimension at absolute zero. The model is basically the Hubbard model, where parameters characterizing the normal ($U$) and Umklapp ($V$) scattering are treated independently. The density of states is calculated in the t-matrix approximation by taking only the forward and Umklapp scattering into account. It is found that the Umklapp scattering causes the global splitting of the density of states. In the presence of sufficiently strong Umklapp scattering, a pole in the t-matrix appears in the upper half plane, sign…
We show that the concept of umklapp-scattering driven instabilities in one-dimensional systems can be generalized to arbitrary multiple umklapp-scattering processes at commensurate fillings given that the system has sufficiently longer range interactions. To this end we study the fundamental model system, namely interacting spinless fermions on a one-dimensional lattice, via a density matrix renormalization group approach. The instabilities are investigated via a new method allowing to calculate the ground-state charge stiffness numerically exactly. The method can be used to determine other gr…
The effect of umklapp scattering on interchain hopping has been investigated for two-coupled chains of interacting electrons with half-filled band. By analyzing in terms of renormalization group method, we have found that interchain hopping is renormalized to zero and is confined when a gap induced by umklapp scattering becomes larger than a critical value. From a phase diagram calculated on a plane of the interchain hopping and the gap, we discuss a role of the correlation gap which has been studied in metallic state at temperatures above spin density wave state in organic conductors.
Recent conductivity measurements performed on the hole-doped two-leg ladder material $\mathrm{Sr_{14-x}Ca_xCu_{24}O_{41}}$ reveal an approximately linear power law regime in the c-axis DC resistivity as a function of temperature for $x=11$. In this work, we employ a bosonic model to argue that umklapp processes are responsible for this feature and for the high spectral weight in the optical conductivity which occurs beyond the finite frequency Drude-like peak. Including quenched disorder in our model allows us to reproduce experimental conductivity and resistivity curves over a wide range of e…
We study the temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity of interacting two-dimensional metallic systems. We perform a numerical simulation of the nonequilibrium state based on semiclassical Boltzmann transport theory. Through our simulation, we demonstrate that deviations from the predictions of standard Fermi-liquid theory can arise due to the special scattering geometry of umklapp processes, in special cases even in the ultra-low-temperature limit. Umklapp scattering is required to relax the total momentum of the quasiparticle distribution function. We investigate the transport pro…
The Mott metal-insulator transition is a typical strong correlation effect triggered by the Umklapp scattering. However, in a physical system, the Umklapp scattering coexists with the normal scattering, including both forward and backward scattering, which conserves the total momentum of scattered electrons. Therefore, it is not easy to quantify the contribution of the Umklapp scattering in a Mott metal-insulator transition. To resolve this difficulty, we propose to explore these scattering processes separately. We study the contribution of each scattering process in the one-dimensional Hubbar…
We propose a theory of longitudinal resistivity in the normal phase of quasi-one-dimensional organic superconductors near the quantum critical point where antiferromagnetism borders with superconductivity under pressure. The linearized semi-classical Boltzmann equation is solved numerically, fed in by the half-filling electronic umklapp scattering vertex as derived from one-loop renormalization group calculations for the quasi-one-dimensional electron gas model. The momentum and temperature dependence of umklapp scattering has an important impact on the behaviour of longitudinal resistivity in…
We apply the density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method to a one-dimensional Hubbard model that lacks Umklapp scattering and thus provides an ideal case to study the Mott-Hubbard transition analytically and numerically. The model has a linear dispersion and displays a metal-to-insulator transition when the Hubbard interaction~$U$ equals the band width, $U_{\rm c}=W$, where the single-particle gap opens linearly, $Δ(U\geq W)=U-W$. The simple nature of the elementary excitations permits to determine numerically with high accuracy the critical interaction strength and the gap function in …
The effects of Umklapp scattering on the zero-temperature conductance in one-dimensional quantum wires are reexamined by taking into account both the screening of external potential and the non-uniform chemical potential shift due to electron-electron interaction. It is shown that in the case away from half-filling the conductance is given by the universal value, $2e^2/h$, even in the presence of Umklapp scattering, owing to these renormalization effects of external potential. The conclusion is in accordance with the recent claim obtained for the system with non-interacting leads being attache…
Efficient momentum relaxation through umklapp scattering, leading to a power law in temperature d.c. resistivity, requires a significant low energy spectral weight at finite momentum. One way to achieve this is via a Fermi surface structure, leading to the well-known relaxation rate Gamma ~ T^2. We observe that local criticality, in which energies scale but momenta do not, provides a distinct route to efficient umklapp scattering. We show that umklapp scattering by an ionic lattice in a locally critical theory leads to Gamma ~ T^(2Δ(k_L)). Here Δ(k_L) \geq 0 is the dimension of the (irrelevant…
We study the low-temperature heat transport in clean two-leg spin ladder compounds coupled to three-dimensional phonons. We argue that the very large heat conductivities observed in such systems can be traced back to the existence of approximate symmetries and corresponding weakly violated conservation laws of the effective (gapful) low--energy model, namely pseudo-momenta. Depending on the ratios of spin gaps and Debye energy and on the temperature, the magnetic contribution to the heat conductivity can be positive or negative, and exhibit an activated or anti-activated behavior. In most regi…
We analyze the effect of the electron-electron interaction on the resistivity of a metal near a Pomeranchuk quantum phase transition (QPT). We show that Umklapp processes are not effective near a QPT, and one must consider both interactions and disorder to obtain finite and T dependent resistivity. By power counting, the correction to the residual resistivity at low T scales as AT^{(D+2)/3} near a Z=3 QPT. We show, however, that A=0 for a simply connected, convex Fermi surface in 2D, due to hidden integrability of the electron motion. We argue that A >0 in a two-band (s-d) model and propose th…
The quadratic low-temperature dependence of resistance in ordinary metals is determined by the momentum relaxation due to electron-electron scattering in the presence Umklapp processes and scattering on impurities. In metals without inversion center spin-orbit interaction of electrons with crystal lattice lifts spin degeneracy of electron states and splits each band on two bands. The temperature dependence of electron-electron collisions scattering rate is found using the matrix kinetic equation including the electron-impurity and electron-electron intra and inter band scattering. It is shown …
Microwave conductivity experiments can directly measure the quasiparticle scattering rate in the superconducting state. We show that this, combined with knowledge of the Fermi surface geometry, allows one to distinguish between closely related superconducting order parameters, e.g., d$_{x^2-y^2}$ and d$_{xy}$ superconductivity. We benchmark this method on YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-δ}$ and, unsurprisingly, confirm that this is a d$_{x^2-y^2}$ superconductor. We then apply our method to $κ$-(BEDT-TTF)$_2$Cu[N(CN)$_2$]Br, which we discover is a d$_{xy}$ superconductor.
We study the renormalization group flow of the interactions in the two-dimensional t-t' Hubbard model near half filling in a N-patch representation of the whole Fermi surface. Starting from weak to intermediate couplings the flows are to strong coupling with different character depending on the choice of parameters. In a large parameter region elastic Umklapp scatterings drive an instability which on parts of the Fermi surface exhibits the key signatures of an insulating spin liquid (ISL), as proposed by Furukawa et al., rather than a conventional symmetry-broken state. The ISL is characterize…
We show that to understand the orthogonality catastrophe in the half-filled lattice model of spinless fermions with repulsive nearest neighbor interaction and a local impurity in its Luttinger liquid phase one has to take into account (i) the impurity scaling, (ii) unusual finite size $L$ corrections of the form $\ln(L)/L$, as well as (iii) the renormalization group flow of the umklapp scattering. The latter defines a length scale $L_u$ which becomes exceedingly large the closer the system is to its transition into the charge-density wave phase. Beyond this transition umklapp scattering is rel…
We study the Hall effect in a system of weakly coupled Luttinger Liquid chains, using a Memory function approach to compute the Hall constant in the presence of umklapp scattering along the chains. In this approximation, the Hall constant decomposes into two terms: a high-frequency term and a Memory function term. For the case of zero umklapp scattering, where the Memory function vanishes, the Hall constant is simply the band value, in agreement with former results in a similar model with no dissipation along the chains. With umklapp scattering along the chains, we find a power-law temperature…
Recent inelastic neutron scattering experiments on (VO)_2P_2O_7 (VOPO) have seen previously unanticipated sharp peaks in the dynamic structure factor in addition to the pair of triplet modes observed earlier. We argue that the additional features are in essence `shadows' of the previously studied features arising due to umklapp scattering, and suggest experimental tests of this proposal. The basic point is illustrated by some elementary calculations within a strong-coupling expansion for the alternating chain with the right geometry (on which the matrix element for umklapp scattering depends s…
The renormalization of the magnetic field penetration depth $λ$ owing to the electron-electron correlation is discussed with its application to high-$T_{\rm c}$ cuprates. The formula for the current carried by quasiparticle with the Umklapp scattering is derived, on the basis of which we investigate how the value of $λ^{-2}$ deviates from that of $n/m^*$ where $n$ and $m^*$ are the carrier density and the effective mass respectively. Although this deviation is small in the case of weak momentum dependence of the vertex, this is large and negative owing to the non-negligible value of the backfl…
We show that in weakly disordered Luttinger liquids close to a commensurate filling the ratio of thermal conductivity kappa and electrical conductivity sigma can deviate strongly from the Wiedemann Franz (WF) law valid for Fermi liquids scattering from impurities. In the regime where the Umklapp scattering rate Gamma_U is much larger than the impurity scattering rate Gamma_imp, the Lorenz number L = (kappa/sigma T) rapidly changes from very large values, L ~ (Gamma_U/Gamma_imp) >> 1 at the commensurate point to very small values, L ~ (Gamma_imp/Gamma_U) << 1 for a slightly doped system. This s…
Over the past two decades, advances in computational algorithms have revealed a curious property of the two-dimensional Hubbard model (and related theories) with hole doping: the presence of close-in-energy competing ground states that display very different physical properties. On the one hand, there is a complicated state exhibiting intertwined spin, charge, and pair density wave orders. We call this `type A'. On the other hand, there is a uniform d-wave superconducting state that we denote as `type B'. We advocate, with the support of both microscopic theoretical calculations and experiment…
We study phenomena driven by electron-electron interactions in the minimally twisted bilayer graphene (mTBLG) with a perpendicular electric field. The low-energy degrees of freedom in mTBLG are governed by a network of one-dimensional domain-wall states, described by two channels of one-dimensional linearly dispersing spin-1/2 fermions. We show that the interaction can realize a spin-gapped inter-channel charge density wave (CDW) state at low temperatures, forming a "Coulomb drag" between the channels and leaving only one charge conducting mode. For sufficiently high temperatures, power-law-in…
Correlation between the strength of low-temperature T-linear normal-state resistivity and $T_{\rm c}$ in overdoped electron-doped cuprate superconductors
We consider the lifetime of quasi-particles in a d-wave superconductor due to scattering from antiferromagnetic spin-fluctuations, and explicitly separate the contribution from Umklapp processes which determines the electrical conductivity. Results for the temperature dependence of the total scattering rate and the Umklapp scattering rate are compared with relaxation rates obtained from thermal and microwave conductivity measurements, respectively.

Electrical transport properties near an electronic Ising-nematic quantum critical point in two dimensions are of both theoretical and experimental interest. In this work, we derive a kinetic equation valid in a broad regime near the quantum critical point using the memory matrix approach. The formalism is applied to study the effect of the critical fluctuations on the dc resistivity through different scattering mechanisms, including umklapp, impurity scattering, and electron-hole scattering in a compensated metal. We show that electrical transport in the quantum critical regime exhibits a rich…
We study the influence of inelastic electron-electron scattering on the temperature variation of the Seebeck coefficient in the normal phase of quasi-one-dimensional organic superconductors. The theory is based on the numerical solution of the semi-classical Boltzmann equation for which the collision integral equation is solved with the aid of the electronic umklapp scattering vertex calculated by the renormalization group method. We show that the one-loop renormalization group flow of momentum and temperature dependent umklapp scattering, in the presence of nesting alterations of the Fermi su…
Scattering among electrons generates a distinct contribution to electrical resistivity that follows a quadratic temperature dependence. In strongly-correlated electron systems, the prefactor A of this T$^2$ resistivity scales with the magnitude of the electronic specific heat. Here, we show that one can change the magnitude of A by four orders of magnitude in metallic SrTiO3 by tuning the concentration of the carriers and consequently, the Fermi energy. The T$^2$ behavior persists in the single-band dilute limit despite the absence of two known mechanisms for T$^2$ behavior, distinct electron …
We apply the recent wavepacket formalism developed by Ossadnik to describe the origin of the short range ordered pseudogap state as the hole doping is lowered through a critical density in cuprates. We argue that the energy gain that drives this precursor state to Mott localization, follows from maximizing umklapp scattering near the Fermi energy. To this end we show how energy gaps driven by umklapp scattering can open on an appropriately chosen surface, as proposed earlier by Yang, Rice and Zhang. The key feature is that the pairing instability includes umklapp scattering, leading to an ener…
While it is well-known that the electron-electron (\emph{ee}) interaction cannot affect the resistivity of a Galilean-invariant Fermi liquid (FL), the reverse statement is not necessarily true: the resistivity of a non-Galilean-invariant FL does not necessarily follow a T^2 behavior. The T^2 behavior is guaranteed only if Umklapp processes are allowed; however, if the Fermi surface (FS) is small or the electron-electron interaction is of a very long range, Umklapps are suppressed. In this case, a T^2 term can result only from a combined--but distinct from quantum-interference corrections-- eff…
Luttinger liquids (LLs) are one dimensional systems with well-understood instabilities due to umklapp or backscattering. We study a generalization of the Luttinger model, which incorporates a time reversal symmetry breaking interaction producing a complex forward scattering amplitude ($g_2$ process). The resulting low energy state is still a LL, and belongs to the family of interacting Schulz-Shastry models. Remarkably, it becomes increasingly robust against additional perturbations -- for purely imaginary $g_2$, both umklapp and local backscattering are always irrelevant. Changing the phase o…
Low-temperature resistivity of half-metals is investigated. To date it has been discussed that the one-magnon scattering process in half-metals is irrelevant for low-temperature resistivity, due to the fully spin-polarized electronic structure at the ground state. If one takes into account the non-rigid-band behavior of the minority band due to spin fluctuations at finite temperatures, however, the unconventional one-magnon scattering process is shown to be most relevant and gives T^3 dependence in resistivity. This behavior may be used as a crucial test in the search for half-metallic materia…
Umklapp scattering determines the conductivity of clean metals. In typical quasi one-dimensional Fermi liquids with an open Fermi surface, certain pseudo-momenta do not decay by 2-particle collisions even in situations where Umklapp scattering relaxes the momentum of the quasi particles efficiently. Due to this approximate conservation of pseudo-momentum, a certain fraction of the electrical current decays very slowly and a well-pronounced low-frequency peak emerges in the optical conductivity. We develop simple criteria to determine under what conditions approximate pseudo-momentum conservati…
We calculate the low-frequency optical conductivity sigma(w) of clean metals and superconductors at zero temperature neglecting the effects of impurities and phonons. In general, the frequency and temperature dependences of sigma have very little in common. For small Fermi surfaces in three dimensions (but not in 2D) we find for example that Re sigma(w>0)=const. for low w which corresponds to a scattering rate Gamma proportional to w^2 even in the absence of Umklapp scattering when there is no T^2 contribution to Gamma. In the main part of the paper we discuss in detail the optical conductivit…
In a recent preprint cond-mat/9812216, Das Sarma and Hwang propose an explanation of the sharp decrease in resistivity at low temperatures which has been attributed to a transition to an unexpected conducting phase in dilute high-mobility two-dimensional systems at B=0. In this Comment, we examine whether their model is supported by the available experimental data.
We derive a low-energy effective model of metallic zigzag carbon nanotubes at half filling. We show that there are three important features characterizing the low-energy properties of these systems: the long-range Coulomb interaction, umklapp scattering and an explicit dimerization generated by interactions. The ratio of the dimerization induced gap and the Mott gap induced by the umklapp interactions is dependent on the radius of the nanotube and can drive the system through a quantum phase transition with SU(2)_1 quantum symmetry. We consider the physical properties of the phases on either s…
Multipolar Fermi Surface Deformations in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ Probed by Resistivity and Sound Attenuation: A Window into Electron Viscosity and the Collision Operator
A two-leg ladder with $n$-component fermionic fields in the chains has been considered using an analytic renormalization group method. The fixed points and possible phases have been determined for generic filling as well as for a half-filled system and for the case when one of the subbands is half filled. A weak-coupling Luttinger-liquid phase and several strong-coupling gapped phases have been found. In the Luttinger liquid phase, for the most general spin dependence of the couplings, all $2n$ modes have different velocities if the interband scattering processes are scaled out, while $n$ doub…
An exhaustive investigation of metallic electronic transport and superconductivity of organic superconductors (TMTSF)_2PF_6 and (TMTSF)_2ClO_4 in the Pressure-Temperature phase diagram between T=0 and 20 K and a theoretical description based on the weak coupling renormalization group method are reported. The analysis of the data reveals a high temperature domain (T\approx 20 K) in which a regular T^2 electron-electron Umklapp scattering obeys a Kadowaki-Woods law and a low temperature regime (T< 8 K) where the resistivity is dominated by a linear-in temperature component. In both compounds a c…
It has been known for decades that thermal conductivity of insulating crystals becomes proportional to the inverse of temperature when the latter is comparable to or higher than the Debye temperature. This behavior has been understood as resulting from Umklapp scattering among phonons. We put under scrutiny the magnitude of the thermal diffusion constant in this regime and find that it does not fall below a threshold set by the square of sound velocity times the Planckian time ($τ_p=\hbar/k_BT$). The conclusion, based on scrutinizing the ratio in cubic crystals with high thermal resistivity, a…
The interplay of Umklapp scattering from a periodic potential and other scattering processes determine the conductivity of (quasi) one-dimensional metals. We show that the transport at finite temperature is qualitatively and quantitatively strongly influenced by a number of approximate conservation laws. Typically, not the strongest but the second strongest scattering mechanism determines the dc-conductivity. We discuss the optical conductivity both of strongly anisotropic, quasi one-dimensional Fermi liquids and of Luttinger liquids.
A possible explanation is given for the anomalous $T^{3/2}$ temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity of MnSi, which is observed in the high-pressure paramagnetic state. The unusual Fermi surface of MnSi includes large open sheets that intersect along the faces of the cubic Brillouin zone. Close to these intersections, long-wavelength interband magnetic spin fluctuations can scatter electrons from one sheet to the other. The current relaxation rate due to such interband scattering events is not reduced by vertex corrections as is that for scattering from intraband ferromagnetic fluc…
We investigate the Hall effect in two different theoretical models of strongly correlated systems: a system made of weakly coupled Luttinger liquids, in the presence of umklapp scattering, and the 2D triangular lattice, with nearest-neighbor hopping and a local Hubbard interaction. In the first model we use a memory function approach to compute the Hall coefficient as a function of temperature and frequency in the presence of umklapp scattering. We find a power-law correction to the free-fermion value (band value), with an exponent depending on the Luttinger parameter $K_ρ$. At sufficiently hi…
In 1937, Baber, Landau and Pomeranchuk postulated that collisions between electrons generates a contribution to the electric resistivity of metals with a distinct T$^2$ temperature dependence. The amplitude of this term is small in common metals, but dominant in metals hosting either heavy carriers or a low concentration of them. The link between the temperature dependence and the size of the scattering phase space is straightforward, but not the microscopic source of dissipation. To explain how electron-electron collisions lead to momentum leak, Umklapp events or multiple electron reservoirs …
We consider a short-range deformation potential scattering model of electron-acoustic phonon interaction to calculate the resistivity of an ideal metal as a function of temperature (T) and electron density (n). We consider both 3D metals and 2D metals, and focus on the dilute limit, i.e., low effective metallic carrier density of the system. The main findings are: (1) a phonon scattering induced linear-in-T resistivity could persist to arbitrarily low T in the dilute limit independent of the Debye temperature ($T_D$) although eventually the low-T resistivity turns over to the expected Bloch-Gr…
We address two long-standing questions regarding the hidden order in URu2Si2: Is it associated with the hybridization process, and what are the distinct roles played by the localized and itinerant electrons? Our quasiparticle scattering spectroscopy reveals a hybridization gap ubiquitous in the entire phase space spanned by P and Fe substitutions in URu2Si2, including the no-order and antiferromagnetic regions, with minimal change upon crossing the phase boundary. This indicates its opening isn't associated with the ordering, and thus localized electrons must be the major player. Towards a con…
The interplay between electronic interactions and disorder is neglected in the conventional Boltzmann theory of transport, yet can play an essential role in determining the resistivity of unconventional metals. When quasiparticles are long-lived, one can account for these intertwined effects by solving spatially inhomogeneous Boltzmann equations. Assuming smooth disorder and neglecting umklapp scattering, we solve these inhomogeneous kinetic equations and compute the electrical resistivity across the ballistic-to-hydrodynamic transition. An important consequence of electron-electron interactio…
The resistivity in metals near an antiferromagnetic quantum critical point (QCP) is strongly affected by small amounts of disorder. In a quasi-classical treatment, we show that an interplay of strongly anisotropic scattering due to spin fluctuations and isotropic impurity scattering leads to a large regime where the resistivity varies as T^alpha, with an anomalous exponent, alpha, 1 <= alpha <= 1.5, depending on the amount of disorder. I argue that this mechanism explains in some detail the anomalous temperature dependence of the resistivity observed in CePd_2Si_2, CeNi_2Ge_2 and CeIn_3 near t…
Peculiarities of transport properties of three- and two-dimensional half-metallic ferromagnets are investigated, which are connected with the absence of spin-flip scattering processes. The temperature and magnetic field dependences of resistivity in various regimes are calculated. The resistivity is proportional to T^{9/2} for T<T* and to T^{7/2} for T>T*, T* being the crossover temperature for longitudinal scattering processes. The latter scale plays also an important role in magnetoresistance. The contribution of non-quasiparticle (incoherent) states to the transport properties is discussed.…
The Fermi-liquid-like (FL) resistivity recently observed in clean HgBa2CuO4 below the pseudogap temperature was related to carriers at the nodal points on the Fermi surface [4]. We show that this necessitates important implications for the electronic spectrum of underdoped (UD) cuprates in whole. Photoemission experiments picture the spectrum as of metallic arcs separated from each other by regions with large energy gaps. We solved the kinetic equation in such model rigorously. The Fermi arcs carriers contribute to FL resistivity, if scattering between the opposite nodal points admits the Umkl…
