We compute the CM volume, that is the degree of the descended CM line bundle, of the Fano K-moduli space of Quartic del Pezzo in any dimension, and of the K-moduli space of the log Fano hyperplane arrangements of dimension one and two. Furthermore, we relate these volumes to the Weil-Petersson volumes by extending the notion of Weil-Petersson metric in the log case.
We exhibit the first non-trivial concrete examples of Gromov-Hausdorff compactifications of moduli spaces of Kähler-Einstein Fano manifolds in all complex dimensions bigger than two (Fano K-moduli spaces). We also discuss potential applications to explicit study of moduli spaces of K-stable Fano manifolds with large anti-canonical volume. Our arguments are based on recent progress about the geometry of metric tangent cones and on related ideas about the algebro-geometric study of singularities of K-stable Fano varieties.
We establish an algebraic approach to prove the properness of moduli spaces of K-polystable Fano varieties and reduce the problem to a conjecture on destabilizations of K-unstable Fano varieties. Specifically, we prove that if the stability threshold of every K-unstable Fano variety is computed by a divisorial valuation, then such K-moduli spaces are proper. The argument relies on studying certain optimal destabilizing test configurations and constructing a Theta-stratification on the moduli stack of Fano varieties.
We prove that Kahler-Einstein Fano manifolds with finite automorphism groups form Hausdorff moduli algebraic space with only quotient singularities. We also discuss the limits as Q-Fano varieties which should be put on the boundary of its canonical compactification.
In this short note we show the unboundedness of the dimension of the K-moduli space of $n$-dimensional Fano varieties, and that the dimension of the stack can also be unbounded while, simultaneously, the dimension of the corresponding coarse space remains bounded.
We construct a canonical Hausdorff complex analytic moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Ricci solitons. This naturally enlarges the moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Einstein metrics, which was constructed by Odaka and Li-Wang-Xu. We survey recent results on the existence of Kähler-Einstein metrics on certain smoothable Fano varieties, focusing on the importance of such metrics in the construction of compact algebraic moduli spaces of K-polystable Fano varieties. Moreover, we give some applications and we discuss some natural problems which deserve future investigations.
In this note, we prove that there is a canonical continuous Hermitian metric on the CM line bundle over the proper moduli space $\bar{\mathcal{M}}$ of smoothable Kahler-Einstein Fano varieties. The curvature of this metric is the Weil-Petersson current, which exists as a positive (1,1)-current on $\bar{\mathcal{M}}$ and extends the canonical Weil-Petersson current on the moduli space parametrizing smooth Kahler-Einstein Fano manifolds $\mathcal{M}$. As a consequence, we show that the CM line bundle is nef and big on $\bar{\mathcal{M}}$ and its restriction on $\mathcal{M}$ is ample.
In this paper, we investigate the geometry of the orbit space of the closure of the subscheme parametrizing smooth Fano Kähler-Einstein manifolds inside an appropriate Hilbert scheme. In particular, we prove that being K-semistable is a Zariski open condition and establish the uniqueness for the Gromov-Hausdorff limit for a punctured flat family of Fano Kähler-Einstein manifolds. Based on these, we construct a proper scheme parameterizing the S-equivalent classes of $\QQ$-Gorenstein smoothable, K-semistable Fano varieties, and verify various necessary properties to guarantee that it is a good …
In this paper, we consider the CM line bundle on the K-moduli space, i.e., the moduli space parametrizing K-polystable Fano varieties. We prove it is ample on any proper subspace parametrizing reduced uniformly K-stable Fano varieties which conjecturally should be the entire moduli space. As a corollary, we prove that the moduli space parametrizing smoothable K-polystable Fano varieties is projective. During the course of proof, we develop a new invariant for filtrations which can be used to test various K-stability notions of Fano varieties.
We study moduli spaces of Ulrich bundles of rank $r \geq 2$ on the Fano 3-fold $V_5$ of Picard number 1, degree 5 and index 2. We prove that the moduli space of stable Ulrich bundles of rank $r$ on $V_5$ can be identified with a smooth $(r^2+1)$-dimensional open subset of the moduli space of stable quiver representations with dimension vector $(r, r)$ of the Kronecker quiver with 2 vertices and 3 arrows.
We prove several classification results for the components of the moduli space of rational curves on a smooth Fano threefold. In particular, we prove a conjecture of Batyrev on the growth of the number of components as the degree increases. The key to our approach is Geometric Manin's Conjecture which predicts the number of components parameterizing free curves.
We study semistable sheaves of rank $2$ with Chern classes $c_1=0$, $c_2=2$ and $c_3=0$ on the Fano 3-fold $V_5$ of Picard number $1$, degree $5$ and index $2$. We show that the moduli space of such sheaves has a component that is isomorphic to $\mathbb{P}^5$ by identifying it with the moduli space of semistable quiver representations. This provides a natural smooth compactification of the moduli space of minimal instantons, as well as Ulrich bundles of rank $2$ on $V_5$.
We prove that K-polystable log Fano pairs have reductive automorphism groups. In fact, we deduce this statement by establishing more general results concerning the S-completeness and $Θ$-reductivity of the moduli of K-semistable log Fano pairs. Assuming the conjecture that K-semistability is an open condition, we prove that the Artin stack parametrizing K-semistable Fano varieties admits a separated good moduli space.
Firstly, we see that the bases of the miniversal deformations of isolated $\mathbb{Q}$-Gorenstein toric singularities are quite restricted. In particular, we classify the analytic germs of embedding dimension $\leq 2$ which are the bases of the miniversal deformations of isolated $\mathbb{Q}$-Gorenstein toric singularities. The object of this note is the moduli spaces of cubic fourfolds (resp., Gushel-Mukai fourfolds) which contain some special rational surfaces. Under some hypotheses on the families of such surfaces, we develop a general method to show the unirationality of the moduli spaces of the $n$-pointed such fourfolds. We apply this to some codimension 1 loci of cubic fourfolds (resp., Gushel-Mukai fourfolds) appeared in the literature recently.
We study semi-stable sheaves of rank $2$ with Chern class $c_1=0$, $c_2=2$ and $c_3=0$ on the Fano 3-folds $V_4$ of Picard number $1$, degree $4$ and index $2$. The 'moduli continuity method' permits an explicit algebraisation of the Gromov-Hausdorff compactification of Kähler-Einstein metrics on Fano manifolds in some fundamental examples. Given a smooth non-hyperelliptic prime Fano threefold X, we prove the existence of all rank 2 ACM vector bundles on X by deformation of semistable sheaves. We show that these bundles move in generically smooth components of the corresponding moduli space. We give applications to pfaffian representations of quartic threefolds in P^4 and cubic hypersurfaces of a smooth quadric of P^5.
We study the Hilbert scheme $\mathcal{H}$ of twisted cubics on a special smooth Gushel-Mukai threefolds $X_{10}$. We show that it is a smooth irreducible projective threefold if $X_{10}$ is general among special Gushel-Mukai threefolds, while it is singular if $X_{10}$ is not general. We construct an irreducible component of a moduli space of Bridgeland stable objects in the Kuznetsov component of $X_{10}$ as a divisorial contraction of $\mathcal{H}$. We prove that the Fano variety of lines of a generic cubic fourfold containing a plane is isomorphic to a moduli space of twisted stable complexes on a K3 surface. On the other hand, we show that the Fano varieties are always birational to moduli spaces of twisted stable coherent sheaves on a K3 surface. The moduli spaces of complexes and of sheaves are related by wall-crossing in the derived category of twisted sheaves on the corresponding K3 surface.
In this paper we investigate codimension one Fano distributions on Fano manifolds with Picard number one. We classify Fano distributions of maximal index on complete intersections in weighted projective spaces, Fano contact manifolds, Grassmannians of lines and their linear sections, and describe their moduli spaces. As a consequence, we obtain a classification of codimension one del Pezzo distributions on Fano manifolds with Picard number one.
According to Mukai, any prime Fano threefold X of genus 7 is a linear section of the spinor tenfold in the projectivized half-spinor space of Spin(10). The orthogonal linear section of the spinor tenfold is a canonical genus-7 curve G, and the intermediate Jacobian J(X) is isomorphic to the Jacobian of G. It is proven that, for a generic X, the Abel-Jacobi map of the family of elliptic sextics on X factors through the moduli space of rank-2 vector bundles with c_1=-K_X and deg c_2=6 and that the latter is birational to the singular locus of the theta divisor of J(X).
We show that any $n$-dimensional Fano manifold $X$ admitting Kähler-Einstein metrics satisfies that the anti-canonical volume is less than or equal to the value $(n+1)^n$. Moreover, the equality holds if and only if $X$ is isomorphic to the $n$-dimensional projective space.
We introduce a new effective stability named "divisorial stability" for Fano manifolds which is weaker than K-stability and is stronger than slope stability along divisors. We show that we can test divisorial stability via the volume function. As a corollary, we prove that the first coordinate of the barycenter of the Okounkov body of the anticanonical divisor is not bigger than one for any Kähler-Einstein Fano manifold. We show that the K-moduli spaces of log Fano pairs $(\mathbb{P}^3, cS)$ where $S$ is a quartic surface interpolate between the GIT moduli space of quartic surfaces and the Baily-Borel compactification of moduli of quartic K3 surfaces as $c$ varies in the interval $(0,1)$. We completely describe the wall crossings of these K-moduli spaces. As the main application, we verify Laza-O'Grady's prediction on the Hassett-Keel-Looijenga program for quartic K3 surfaces. We show that the anti-canonical volume of an $n$-dimensional Kähler-Einstein $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety is bounded from above by certain invariants of the local singularities, namely $\mathrm{lct}^n\cdot\mathrm{mult}$ for ideals and the normalized volume function for real valuations. This refines a recent result by Fujita. As an application, we get sharp volume upper bounds for Kähler-Einstein Fano varieties with quotient singularities. In this Thesis, I investigate how Fano manifolds equipped with a Kahler-Einstein metric can degenerate as metric spaces (in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology) and some of the relations of this question with Algebraic Geometry, in particular in the direction of the study of moduli spaces and their compactifications.
We study the moduli spaces of rational curves on prime Fano threefolds of index 1. For general threefolds of most genera we compute the dimension and the number of irreducible components of these moduli spaces. Our results confirm Geometric Manin's Conjecture in these examples and show the enumerativity of certain Gromov-Witten invariants.
In this note we describe a unique linear embedding of a prime Fano 4-fold F of genus 10 into the Grassmannian G(3,6). We use this to construct some moduli spaces of bundles on linear sections of F. In particular the moduli space of bundles with Mukai vector (3,L,3) on a generic polarized K3 surface (S,L) of genus 10 is constructed as a double cover of the projective plane branched over a smooth sextic.
