Since a long-time, the quantum integrable systems have remained an area where modern mathematical methods have given an access to interesting results in the study of physical systems. The exact computations, both numerical and asymptotic, of the correlation function is one of the most important subject of the theory of the quantum integrable models. In this context an approach based on the calculation of form factors has been proved to be a more effective one. In this thesis, we develop a new method based on the algebraic Bethe ansatz for the computation of the form-factors in thermodynamic limit. It is both applied to and described in the context of isotropic XXX Heisenberg chain, which is one of the examples of an interesting case of critical models where the Fermi-zone is non-compact. In a particular case of two-spinon form-factors, we obtain an exact result in a closed-form which matches the previous result obtained from an approach based on $q$-vertex operator algebra. This method is then generalised to form-factors in higher spinon sectors where we find a reduced determinant representation for the form-factors, in which a higher-level structure for the form-factors is revealed.
In this paper we propose a method based on the algebraic Bethe ansatz leading to explicit results for the form factors of quantum spin chains in the thermodynamic limit. Starting from the determinant representations we retrieve in particular the formula for the two-spinon form factors for the isotropic XXX Heisenberg chain obtained initially in the framework of the $q$-vertex operator approach.
We consider the ferromagnetic quantum Heisenberg model in one dimension, for any spin $S\geq 1/2$. We give upper and lower bounds on the free energy, proving that at low temperature it is asymptotically equal to the one of an ideal Bose gas of magnons, as predicted by the spin-wave approximation. The trial state used in the upper bound yields an analogous estimate also in the case of two spatial dimensions, which is believed to be sharp at low temperature.
In this article we study the thermodynamic limit of the form factors of the XXX Heisenberg spin chain using the algebraic Bethe ansatz approach. Our main goal is to express the form factors for the low-lying excited states as determinants of matrices that remain finite dimensional in the thermodynamic limit. We show how to treat all types of the complex roots of the Bethe equations within this framework. In particular we demonstrate that the Gaudin determinant for the higher level Bethe equations arises naturally from the algebraic Bethe ansatz.
Building on our earlier work \unscite{Sa-Za}, we introduce and study generalized XX0 models. We explicitly construct a long-range interacting spin chain, referred to as the Selberg model, and study the correlation functions of the Selberg and XX0 models. Using a matrix integral representation of the generalized XX0 model and applying asymptotic analysis in non-intersecting Brownian motion, the phase structure of the Selberg model is determined. We find that tails of the Tracy-Widom distribution, of Gaussian unitary ensemble, govern a discrete-to-continuous third-order phase transition in Selbe…
Starting from the massless form factor expansion for the two-point dynamical correlation functions obtained recently, I extract the long-distance and large-time asymptotics of these correlators. The analysis yields the critical exponents and associated amplitudes characterising the asymptotics. The results are obtained on the basis of exact and first principle based considerations: they \textit{do not rely, at any stage}, on some hypothetical correspondence with a field theory or the use of any other phenomenological approach. Being based on form factor expansion, the method allows one to clea…
This work focuses on the calculation of the large-volume behaviour of form factors of local operators in the XXZ spin-$1/2$ chain taken between the ground state and an excited state containing bound states. The analysis is rigorous and builds on various fine properties of the string solutions to the Bethe equations and certain technical hypotheses. These technical hypotheses are satisfied for a generic excited state. The results obtained in this work pave the way for extracting, starting from the first principles, the large-distance and long-time asymptotic behaviour of the XXZ chain's two-poi…
In this article we show that the Euler equations, when linearized around a low frequency perturbation to Couette flow, exhibit norm inflation in Gevrey-type spaces as time tends to infinity. Thus, echo chains are shown to be a (secondary) linear instability mechanism. Furthermore, we develop a more precise analysis of cancellations in the resonance mechanism, which yields a modified exponent in the high frequency regime. In addition it allows us to remove a logarithmic constraint on the perturbations present in prior works by Bedrossian, Deng and Masmoudi and to construct solutions which are i…
We introduce effective form factors for one-dimensional lattice fermions with arbitrary phase shifts. We study tau functions defined as series of these form factors. On the one hand we perform the exact summation and present tau functions as Fredholm determinants in the thermodynamic limit. On the other hand simple expressions of form factors allow us to present the corresponding series as integrals of elementary functions. Using this approach we re-derive the asymptotics of static correlation functions of the XY quantum chain at finite temperature.
In this paper we complete the study on the asymptotic behaviour of the entanglement entropy for Kitaev chains with long range pairing. We discover that when the couplings decay with the distance with a critical exponent new properties for the asymptotic growth of the entropy appear. The coefficient of the leading term is not universal any more and the connection with conformal field theories is lost. We perform a numerical and analytical approach to the problem showing a perfect agreement. In order to carry out the analytical study, a new technique for computing the asymptotic behaviour of blo…
We study the isotropic XY quantum spin chain with a time-periodic transverse magnetic field acting on a single site. The asymptotic problem can be mapped into a highly resonant Floquet-Schrödinger equation, for which, under a diophantine-like assumption on the frequency, we show the existence of a periodic solution. The proof is based on a KAM-type renormalisation. This in turn implies the state of the quantum spin chain to be asymptotically a periodic function synchronised with the forcing also at low frequencies.
We consider periodic traveling waves in FPU-type chains with superpolynomial interaction forces and derive explicit asymptotic formulas for the high-energy limit as well as bounds for the corresponding approximation error. In the proof we adapt twoscale techniques that have recently been develop by Herrmann and Matthies for chains with singular potential and provide an asymptotic ODE for the scaled distance profile.
We study asymptotic solutions to a singularly-perturbed, period-2 Toda lattice and use exponential asymptotics to examine `nanoptera', which are nonlocal solitary waves with constant-amplitude, exponentially small wave trains. With this approach, we isolate the exponentially small, constant-amplitude waves, and we elucidate the dynamics of these waves in terms of the Stokes phenomenon. We find a simple asymptotic expression for the waves, and we study configurations in which these waves vanish, producing localized solitary-wave solutions. In the limit of small mass ratio, we derive a simple an…
