The self-dual spacetime was derived from the mini-superspace approach, based on the polymerization quantization procedure in loop quantum gravity (LQG). Its deviation from the Schwarzschild spacetime is characterized by the polymeric function $P$, purely due to the geometric quantum effects from LQG. In this paper, we consider the observational constraints imposed on $P$ by using the solar system experiments and observations. For this purpose, we calculate in detail the effects of $P$ on astronomical observations conducted in the Solar system, including the deflection angle of light by the Sun, gravitational time delay, perihelion advance, and geodetic precession. The observational constraints are derived by confronting the theoretical predictions with the most recent observations. Among these constraints, we find that the tightest one comes from the measurement of the gravitational time delay by the Cassini mission, which yields $0<P<5.5\times 10^{-6}$. In addition, we also discuss the potential constraint that can be obtained in the near future by the joint European-Japanese BepiColombo project and show that it could significantly improve the current constraints.
Various astrophysical and cosmological observations today serve as an indirect evidence of the existence of dark matter in the universe. In the present work, we propose a class of spacetimes that show some important characteristics relevant to the spacetime of a dark matter halo. These spacetimes are static and spherically symmetric solutions of the Einstein field equations. The proposed spacetimes satisfy the flat velocity profile of a galactic object far away from the center, they give good agreement to the astrometric data of the S2 star, and these also cast a central shadow. Using the Penr…
The photon ring, shadow and observational appearance of the emission originating near a charged black-bounce are investigated. Based on the geodesic analysis, we determine the upper and lower limits of critical impact parameters of a charged black-bounce. In particular, we find that the charged black-bounce shares the same critical impact parameter with the Reissner-Nordstöm black hole. In addition, we classify the light trajectories coming from the region near the charged black-bounce by utilizing the rays tracing procedure, and then investigate the observational appearance of the emissions f…
We derive the multipole moments of the Kerr-NUT black hole spacetime using the Geroch-Hansen formalism, even though the spacetime is not asymptotically flat. Intriguingly, in the presence of the NUT charge, the absence of reflection symmetry about the equatorial plane, leads to mass and spin multipole moments of all orders, in stark contrast to Kerr-like spacetimes. This leads to a drastic departure of the multipolar structure of a compact object with NUT charge, whose implications for gravitational wave observations have been explored. Our analysis of multipole moments for the Kerr-NUT spacet…
We apply the recent derivations of dual charges in asymptotically flat spacetimes to asymptotically locally AdS spacetimes. In contrast to the results in the flat case, in the AdS case with a Dirichlet boundary the dual charge contribution vanishes at the leading order. However, by focusing on the Taub-NUT-AdS solution, we show that nevertheless, more generally, the dual charge is non-vanishing and corresponds to the NUT parameter. We propose a complex first law of black mechanics in the presence of NUT charges that is inspired by the naturally complex nature of the charges derived using Hamil…
We establish a one-to-one correspondence between static spacetimes and Riemannian manifolds that maps causal geodesics to geodesics, as suggested by L. C. Epstein. We then explore constant curvature spacetimes - such as the de Sitter and the anti-de Sitter universes - and find that they map to constant curvature Riemannian manifolds, namely the Euclidean space, the sphere and the hyperbolic space. By imposing the conditions required to map to the sphere, we obtain the spherically symmetric metrics for which there is radial oscillatory motion with a period independent of the amplitude. We then …
Our knowledge of dynamical black holes suffers from a lack of observational insight. In an analogue model of gravity, we can design a longitudinally symmetric dynamical acoustic black hole with a moving horizon. In this symmetric spacetime, the marginally outer trapped surface and the so called evolving horizon are degenerate. Interestingly, there are many ways of assigning a surface gravity to the horizon in the absence of time translation invariance. Here, we present two of them that are distinguished by whether they are defined only locally or take into account the global properties of spac…
Anisotropies generically dominate the earliest stages of expansion of a homogeneous universe. They are particularly relevant in bouncing models, since shears grow in the contracting phase of the cosmos, making the isotropic situation unstable. This paper extends the study of cosmological perturbations in loop quantum cosmology (LQC) to anisotropic Bianchi I models that contain a bounce followed by a phase of slow-roll inflation. We show that, although the shear tensor dilutes and the universe isotropizes soon after the bounce, cosmic perturbations retain memory of this short anisotropic phase.…

In this work, we investigate the quasinormal modes for a massive scalar field with a nonminimal coupling with gravity in the spacetime of a loop quantum black hole, known as the Self-Dual Black Hole. In this way, we have calculated the characteristic frequencies using the 3rd order WKB approach, where we can verify a strong dependence with the mass of scalar field, the parameter of nonminimal coupling with gravity, and parameters of the Loop Quantum Gravity. From our results, we can check that the Self-Dual Black Hole is stable under the scalar perturbations when assuming small values for the …
We revisit the cutoff surface formulation of fluid-gravity duality in the context of the classical double copy. The spacetimes in this fluid-gravity duality are algebraically special, with Petrov type II when the spacetime is four dimensional. We find two special classes of fluids whose dual spacetimes exhibit higher algebraic speciality: constant vorticity flows have type D gravity duals, while potential flows map to type N spacetimes. Using the Weyl version of the classical double copy, we construct associated single-copy gauge fields for both cases, finding that constant vorticity fluids ma…
