We perform generalizations of Witt and Virasoro algebras, and derive the corresponding Korteweg-de Vries equations from known R(p,q)-deformed quantum algebras previously introduced in J. Math. Phys. 51, 063518, (2010). Related relevant properties are investigated and discussed. Besides, we construct the R(p,q)-deformed Witt n- algebra, and determine the Virasoro constraints for a toy model, which play an important role in the study of matrix models. Finally, as matter of illustration, explicit results are provided for main particular deformed quantum algebras known in the literature.
In this paper, we construct the super Witt algebra and super Virasoro algebra in the framework of the $\mathcal{R}(p,q)$-deformed quantum algebras. Moreover, we perform the super $\mathcal{R}(p,q)$-deformed Witt $n$-algebra, the $\mathcal{R}(p,q)$-deformed Virasoro $n$-algebra and discuss the super $\mathcal{R}(p,q)$-Virasoro $n$-algebra ($n$ even). Besides, we define and construct another super $\mathcal{R}(p,q)$-deformed Witt $n$-algebra and study a toy model for the super $\mathcal{R}(p,q)$-Virasoro constraints. Relevant particular cases induced from the quantum algebras known in the litera…
This paper addresses an R(p,q)-deformed conformal Virasoro algebra with an arbitrary conformal dimension Delta. Wellknown deformations constructed in the literature are deduced as particular cases. Then, the special case of the conformal dimension Delta=1 is elucidated for its interesting properties. The R(p,q)-KdV equation, associated with the deformed Virasoro algebra, is also derived and discussed. Finally, the (p,q)-deformed energy-momentum tensor, consistent with the central extension term, is computed and analyzed.
In this paper, we formulate and present ample evidence towards the conjecture that the partition function (i.e. the exponential of the generating series of intersection numbers with monomials in psi classes) of the Pixton class on the moduli space of stable curves is the topological tau function of the noncommutative KdV hierarchy, which we introduced in a previous work. The specialization of this conjecture to the top degree part of Pixton's class states that the partition function of the double ramification cycle is the tau function of the dispersionless limit of this hierarchy. In fact, we …
A proof of the vanishing of the third cohomology group of the Witt algebra with values in the adjoint module is given. Moreover, we provide a sketch of the proof of the one-dimensionality of the third cohomology group of the Virasoro algebra with values in the adjoint module. The proofs given in the present article are completely algebraic and independent of any underlying topology. They are a generalization of the ones provided by Schlichenmaier, who proved the vanishing of the second cohomology group of the Witt and the Virasoro algebra by using purely algebraic methods. In the case of the t…
Inspired by Eynard-Orantin topological recursions, we reformulate the Virasoro constraints for curves as residues of multilinear differentials. As applications they can be used to compute the $n$-point functions of Gromov-Witten invariants of curves.
For an arbitrary solution to the KdV hierarchy, the generating series of logarithmic derivatives of the tau-function of the solution can be expressed by the basic matrix resolvent via algebraic manipulations. Based on this we develop in this paper two new formulae for the generating series by introducing a pair of wave functions of the solution. Applications to the Witten--Kontsevich tau-function, to the generalized Brézin--Gross--Witten (BGW) tau-function, as well as to a modular deformation of the generalized BGW tau-function which we call the Lamé tau-function are also given.
We construct a tau cover of the generalized Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy associated to an arbitrary affine Kac-Moody algebra with gradations $\mathrm{s}\le\mathds{1}$ and derive its Virasoro symmetries. By imposing the Virasoro constraints we obtain solutions of the Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy of Witten-Kontsevich and of Brezin-Gross-Witten types, and of those characterized by certain ordinary differential equations of Painlevé type. We also show the existence of affine Weyl group actions on solutions of such Painlevé type equations, which generalizes the theory of Noumi and Yamada on affine Weyl…
We derive explicit universal equations for primary Gromov-Witten invariants by applying Getzler's genus one relation to quantum powers of Euler vector field. As an application, we provide some evidences for the genus-1 Virasoro conjecture.
In their fundamental work, B. Dubrovin and Y. Zhang, generalizing the Virasoro equations for the genus 0 Gromov-Witten invariants, proved the Virasoro equations for a descendent potential in genus 0 of an arbitrary conformal Frobenius manifold. More recently, a remarkable system of partial differential equations, called the open WDVV equations, appeared in the work of A. Horev and J. P. Solomon. This system controls the genus 0 open Gromov-Witten invariants. In our paper, for an arbitrary solution of the open WDVV equations, satisfying a certain homogeneity condition, we construct a descendent…
The main aim of this article is to prove the one-dimensionality of the third algebraic cohomology of the Virasoro algebra with values in the adjoint module. We announced this result in a previous publication with only a sketch of the proof. The detailed proof is provided in the present article. We also show that the third algebraic cohomology of the Witt and the Virasoro algebra with values in the trivial module is one-dimensional. We consider purely algebraic cohomology, i.e. our results are independent of any topology chosen. The vanishing of the third algebraic cohomology of the Witt algebr…
We investigate the Brezin-Gross-Witten model, a tau-function of the KdV hierarchy, and its natural one-parameter deformation, the generalized Brezin-Gross-Witten tau-function. In particular, we derive the Virasoro constraints, which completely specify the partition function. We solve them in terms of the cut-and-join operator. The Virasoro constraints lead to the loop equations, which we solve in terms of the correlation functions. Explicit expressions for the coefficients of the tau-function and the free energy are derived, and a compact formula for the genus zero contribution is conjectured.…
Recently R. Pandharipande, J. Solomon and R. Tessler initiated a study of the intersection theory on the moduli space of Riemann surfaces with boundary. They conjectured that the generating series of the intersection numbers is a specific solution of a system of PDEs, that they called the open KdV equations. In this paper we show that the open KdV equations are closely related to the equations for the wave function of the KdV hierarchy. This allows us to give an explicit formula for the specific solution in terms of Witten's generating series of the intersection numbers on the moduli space of …
In this note, we introduce a notion of multi-parameter formal deformations of ternary hom-Nambu-Lie algebras. Within this framework, we construct formal deformations of the three-dimensional Jacobian determinant and of the cross-product in four-dimensional Euclidean space. We also conclude that the previously defined ternary q-Virasoro-Witt algebra is a formal deformation of the ternary Virasoro-Witt algebra.
The aim of this work is to further study the fractional bosonic string theory. In particular, we wrote the energy-momentum tensor in the fractional conformal gauge and study their symmetries. We introduced the Virasoro operators of all orders. In fact, we found the same $L_0 (\widetilde{L}_0)$ operator originally defined in the work of fractional bosonic string up to a shift transformation. Also, we compute the algebra of our Fractional Virasoro Operators, finding that the satifies the $Witt$ algebra. Lastly, we showed that in the boundary of our theory we recover the lost conservation law ass…
We show that it is possible to construct a Virasoro algebra as a central extension of the fractional Witt algebra generated by non-local operators of the form, $L_n^a\equiv\left(\frac{\partial f}{\partial z}\right)^a$ where $a\in {\mathbb R}$. The Virasoro algebra is explicitly of the form, \beq [L^a_m,L_n^a]=A_{m,n}L^a_{m+n}+δ_{m,n}h(n)cZ^a \eeq where $c$ is the central charge (not necessarily a constant), $Z^a$ is in the center of the algebra and $h(n)$ obeys a recursion relation related to the coefficients $A_{m,n}$. In fact, we show that all central extensions which respect the special str…
Let $\mf g$ be the Witt algebra or the positive Witt algebra. It is well known that the enveloping algebra $U(\mf g )$ has intermediate growth and thus infinite Gelfand-Kirillov (GK-) dimension. We prove that the GK-dimension of $U(\mf g)$ is {\em just infinite} in the sense that any proper quotient of $U(\mf g)$ has polynomial growth. This proves a conjecture of Petukhov and the second named author for the positive Witt algebra. We also establish the corresponding results for quotients of the symmetric algebra $S(\mf g)$ by proper Poisson ideals. In fact, we prove more generally that any cent…
We consider the KdV equation on a circle and its Lie-Poisson reconstruction, which is reminiscent of an equation of motion for fluid particles. For periodic waves, the stroboscopic reconstructed motion is governed by an iterated map whose Poincaré rotation number yields the drift velocity. We show that this number has a geometric origin: it is the sum of a dynamical phase, a Berry phase, and an "anomalous phase". The last two quantities are universal: they are solely due to the underlying Virasoro group structure. The Berry phase, in particular, was previously described in [arXiv:1703.06142] f…
