We study the asymptotic dynamics of stochastic Young differential delay equations under the regular assumptions on Lipschitz continuity of the coefficient functions. Our main results show that, if there is a linear part in the drift term which has no delay factor and has eigenvalues of negative real parts, then the generated random dynamical system possesses a random pullback attractor provided that the Lipschitz coefficients of the remaining parts are small.
We consider the pullback attractors for non-autonomous dynamical systems generated by stochastic lattice differential equations with non-autonomous deterministic terms. We first establish a sufficient condition for existence of pullback attractors of lattice dynamical systems with both non-autonomous deterministic and random forcing terms. As an application of the abstract theory, we prove the existence of a unique pullback attractor for the first-order lattice dynamical systems with both deterministic non-autonomous forcing terms and multiplicative white noise. Our results recover many existi…
The construction of attractors of a dissipative difference equation is usually based on compactness assumptions. In this paper, we replace them with contractivity assumptions under which the pullback and forward attractors are identical. As a consequence, attractors degenerate to unique bounded entire solutions. As an application, we investigate attractors of integrodifference equations which are popular models in theoretical ecology.
We study the long-time dynamics of a non-autonomous coupled system consisting of the 3D linearized Na\-vier--Stokes equations and nonlinear elasticity equations. We show that this problem generates a process on time-dependent spaces possessing a pullback attractor.
We study the continuity of pullback and uniform attractors for non-autonomous dynamical systems with respect to perturbations of a parameter. Consider a family of dynamical systems parameterised by a complete metric space $Λ$ such that for each $λ\inΛ$ there exists a unique pullback attractor $\mathcal A_λ(t)$. Using the theory of Baire category we show under natural conditions that there exists a residual set $Λ_*\subseteqΛ$ such that for every $t\in\mathbb R$ the function $λ\mapsto\mathcal A_λ(t)$ is continuous at each $λ\inΛ_*$ with respect to the Hausdorff metric. Similarly, given a family…
In order to determine the dynamics of nonautonomous equations both their forward and pullback behavior need to be understood. For this reason we provide sufficient criteria for the existence of such attracting invariant sets in a general setting of nonautonomous difference equations in metric spaces. In addition it is shown that both forward and pullback attractors, as well as forward limit sets persist and that the latter two notions even converge under perturbation. As concrete application, we study integrodifference equation under spatial discretization of collocation type.
In this work we consider the non local evolution equation with time-dependent terms which arises in models of phase separation in $\mathbb{R}^N$ \[ \partial_t u=- u + g \left(β(J*u) +βh(t,u)\right) \] under some restrictions on $h$, growth restrictions on the nonlinear term $g$ and $β>1$. We prove, under suitable assumptions, existence, regularity and upper-semicontinuity of pullback attractors with respect to functional parameter $h(t)$ in some weighted spaces.
In this paper, we study the upper semicontinuity of pullback attractors for a strongly damped wave equation. In particular, under some proper assumptions, we prove that, the pullback attractor $\{A_\varepsilon(t)\}_{t\in\mathbb R}$} of Eq.(1.1) with $\varepsilon\in[0,1]$ satisfies that for any $[a,b]\subset\mathbb R$ and $\varepsilon_0\in[0,1]$, $\lim_{\varepsilon\to\varepsilon_0} \sup_{t\in[a,b]} \mathrm{dist}_{H_0^1\times L^2} (A_\varepsilon(t), A_{\varepsilon_0}(t))=0$, and $\cup_{t\in[a,b]} \cup_{\varepsilon\in[0,1]} A_\varepsilon(t)$ is precompact in $H_0^1 (Ω) \times L^2(Ω)$.
For pullback attractors of asymptotically autonomous dynamical systems we study the convergences of their components towards the global attractors of the limiting semigroups. We use some conditions of uniform boundedness of pullback attractors, instead of uniform compactness conditions used in the literature. Both forward convergence and backward convergence are studied.
The aim of this paper is to analyze the long-time dynamical behavior of the solution for a degenerate wave equation with time-dependent damping term $\partial_{tt}u + β(t)\partial_tu = \mathcal{L}u(x,t) + f(u)$ on a bounded domain $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^N$ with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Under some restrictions on $β(t)$ and critical growth restrictions on the nonlinear term $f$, we will prove the local and global well-posedness of the solution and derive the existence of a pullback attractor for the process associated with the degenerate damped hyperbolic problem.
The authors consider non-autonomous dynamical behavior of wave-type evolutionary equations with nonlinear damping and critical nonlinearity. These type of waves equations are formulated as non-autonomous dynamical systems (namely, cocycles). A sufficient and necessary condition for the existence of pullback attractors is established for norm-to-weak continuous non-autonomous dynamical systems, in terms of pullback asymptotic compactness or pullback $κ-$contraction criteria. A technical method for verifying pullback asymptotic compactness, via contractive functions, is devised. These results ar…
In this work we obtain theoretical results on continuity of selected pullback attractors and we apply them to reaction diffusion equations with dynamical boundary conditions
We study pullback attractors of non-autonomous non-compact dynamical systems generated by differential equations with non-autonomous deterministic as well as stochastic forcing terms. We first introduce the concepts of pullback attractors and asymptotic compactness for such systems. We then prove a sufficient and necessary condition for existence of pullback attractors. We also introduce the concept of complete orbits for this sort of systems and use these special solutions to characterize the structures of pullback attractors. For random systems containing periodic deterministic forcing terms…
The existence of a pullback attractor is established for the singularly perturbed FitzHugh-Nagumo system defined on the entire space $R^n$ when external terms are unbounded in a phase space. The pullback asymptotic compactness of the system is proved by using uniform a priori estimates for far-field values of solutions. Although the limiting system has no global attractor, we show that the pullback attractors for the perturbed system with bounded external terms are uniformly bounded, and hence do not blow up as a small parameter approaches zero.
We consider SDEs driven by two different sources of additive noise, which we refer to as intrinsic and common. We establish almost sure existence and uniqueness of pullback attractors with respect to realisations of the common noise only. These common noise pullback attractors are smooth probability densities that depend only on (the past of) a common noise realisation and to which the pullback evolution of a corresponding stochastic Fokker-Planck equation converges. Common noise pullback attractors have a natural motivation in the context of particle systems with intrinsic and common noise, d…

We study the long time behavior of solutions of the non-autonomous Reaction-Diffusion equation defined on the entire space R^n when external terms are unbounded in a phase space. The existence of a pullback global attractor for the equation is established in L^2(R^n) and H^1(R^n), respectively. The pullback asymptotic compactness of solutions is proved by using uniform a priori estimates on the tails of solutions outside bounded domains.
In this work we study nonuniform exponential dichotomies and existence of pullback and forward attractors for evolution processes associated to nonautonomous differential equations. We define a new concept of nonuniform exponential dichotomy, for which we provide several examples, study the relation with the standard notion, and establish a robustness under perturbations. We provide a dynamical interpretation of admissibility pairs related with exponential dichotomies to obtain existence of pullback and forward attractors. We apply these abstract results for ordinary and parabolic differential…

We discuss the existence of pullback attractors for multivalued dynamical systems on metric spaces. Such attractors are shown to exist without any assumptions in terms of continuity of the solution maps, based only on minimality properties with respect to the notion of pullback attraction. When invariance is required, a very weak closed graph condition on the solving operators is assumed. The presentation is complemented with examples and counterexamples to test the sharpness of the hypotheses involved, including a reaction-diffusion equation, a discontinuous ordinary differential equation and…
In this paper, we prove the existences of pullback attractors in $L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^N)\times L^{2}(\mathbb{R}^N)$ for stochastic Fitzhugh-Nagumo system driven by both additive noises and deterministic non-autonomous forcings. The nonlinearity is polynomial like growth with exponent $p-1$. The asymptotic compactness for the cocycle in $L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^N)\times L^{2}(\mathbb{R}^N)$ is proved by using asymptotic a priori method, where the plus and minus signs of the nonlinearity at large value are not required.
In this paper, we mainly study the regularity of pullback $\mathcal{D}$-attractors for a nonautonomous nonclassical diffusion equation with delay term $b(t,u_t)$ which contains some hereditary characteristics. Under a critical nonlinearity $f$, a time-dependent force $g(t,x)$ with exponential growth and a delayed force term $b(t,u_t)$, we prove that there exists a pullback $\mathcal{D}$-attractor $\mathcal{A}=\{A(t):t \in \mathbb{R}\}$ in $\mathbb{K}^1=H_0^1(Ω) \times L^2((-h,0);L^2(Ω))$ to problem \eqref{ine01} and for each $t \in \mathbb{R}$, $A(t)$ is bounded in $\mathbb{K}^2=H^2(Ω) \cap H_…
In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of solution to a non-autonomous diffusion equations with delay containing some hereditary characteristics and nonlocal diffusion in time-dependent space $C_{\mathcal{H}_{t}(Ω)}$. When the nonlinear function $f$ satisfies the polynomial growth of arbitrary order $p-1$ $(p \ge 2)$ and the external force $h \in L_{l o c}^{2}\left(\mathbb{R} ; H^{-1}(Ω)\right)$, we establish the existence and regularity of the time-dependent pullback attractors.
This paper is concerned with pullback dynamics of 3D Navier-Stokes equations with variable viscosity and subject to time-dependent external forces. Our main result establishes the existence of finite-dimensional pullback attractors in a general setting involving tempered universes. We also present a sufficient condition on the viscosity coefficients that guarantees the attractors are nontrivial. We end the paper by showing the upper semi-continuity of pullback attractors as the non-autonomous perturbation vanishes.
In theoretical ecology, models describing the spatial dispersal and the temporal evolution of species having non-overlapping generations are often based on integrodifference equations. For various such applications the environment has an aperiodic influence on the models leading to nonautonomous integrodifference equations. In order to capture their long-term behaviour comprehensively, both pullback and forward attractors, as well as forward limit sets are constructed for general infinite-dimensional nonautonomous dynamical systems in discrete time. While the theory of pullback attractors, but…
Previous studies have shown that rate-induced transitions can occur in pullback attractors of systems subject to "parameter shifts" between two asymptotically steady values of a system parameter. For cases where the attractors limit to equilibrium or periodic orbit in past and future limits of such an nonautonomous systems, these can occur as the parameter change passes through a critical rate. Such rate-induced transitions for attractors that limit to chaotic attractors in past or future limits has been less examined. In this paper, we identify a new phenomenon is associated with more complex…
The theory of random attractors has different notions of attraction, amongst them pullback attraction and weak attraction. We investigate necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of pullback attractors as well as of weak attractors.
We develop a definition of rate-induced tipping (R-tipping) in discrete-time dynamical systems (maps) and prove results giving conditions under which R-tipping will or will not happen. Specifically, we study (possibly non-invertible) maps with a time-varying parameter subject to a parameter shift. We show that each stable path has a unique associated solution (a local pullback attractor) which stays near the path for all negative time. When the parameter changes slowly, this local pullback attractor stays near the path for all time, but if the parameter changes quickly, the local pullback attr…
In this article we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions, in sense of global pullback attractors, of the evolution system $$ \begin{cases} u_{tt} +ηΔ^2 u+a(t)Δθ=f(t,u), & t>τ,\ x\inΩ,\\ θ_t-κΔθ-a(t)Δu_t=0, & t>τ,\ x\inΩ, \end{cases} $$ subject to boundary conditions $$ u=Δu=θ=0,\ t>τ,\ x\in\partialΩ, $$ where $Ω$ is a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$ with $N\geqslant 2$, which boundary $\partialΩ$ is assumed to be a $\mathcal{C}^4$-hypersurface, $η>0$ and $κ>0$ are constants, $a$ is an Hölder continuous function, $f$ is a dissipative nonlinearity locally Lipschitz in the second variable.
This paper concerns the tempered pullback dynamics of 2D incompressible non-autonomous Navier-Stokes equation with non-homogeneous boundary condition on Lipschitz-like domain. With the presence of a time-dependent external force f(t) which only needs to be pullback translation bounded, we establish the existence of a minimal pullback attractor with respect to a universe of tempered sets for the corresponding non-autonomous dynamical system. We then give estimate on the finite fractal dimension of the attractor based on trace formula. Under the additional assumption that the external force is t…
As it is well-known, the forwards and pullback dynamics are in general unrelated. In this paper we present an in-depth study of whether the pullback attractor is also a forwards attractor for the processes involved with the skew-product semiflow induced by a family of scalar non-autonomous reaction-diffusion equations which are linear in a neighbourhood of zero and have null upper Lyapunov exponent. Besides, the notion of Li-Yorke chaotic pullback attractor for a process is introduced, and we prove that this chaotic behaviour might occur for almost all the processes. When the problems are addi…
We introduce new weak topologies and spaces of Carathéodory functions where the solutions of the ordinary differential equations depend continuously on the initial data and vector fields. The induced local skew-product flow is proved to be continuous, and a notion of linearized skew-product flow is provided. Two applications are shown. First, the propagation of the exponential dichotomy over the trajectories of the linearized skew-product flow and the structure of the dichotomy or Sacker-Sell spectrum. Second, how particular bounded absorbing sets for the process defined by a Carathéodory vect…
It is well-known that random attractors of a random dynamical system are generally not unique. We show that for general pullback attractors and weak attractors, there is always a minimal (in the sense of smallest) random attractor which attracts a given family of (possibly random) sets. We provide an example which shows that this property need not hold for forward attractors. We point out that our concept of a random attractor is very general: The family of sets which are attracted is allowed to be completely arbitrary.
Asymptotic random dynamics of weak solutions for a damped stochastic wave equation with the nonlinearity of arbitrarily large exponent and the additive noise on $\mathbb{R}^n$ is investigated. The existence of a pullback random attractor is proved in a parameter region with a breakthrough in proving the pullback asymptotic compactness of the cocycle with the quasi-trajectories defined on the integrable function space of arbitrary exponent and on the unbounded domain of arbitrary dimension.
We examine the question whether random set attractors for continuous-time random dynamical systems on a connected state space are connected. In the deterministic case, these attractors are known to be connected. In the probabilistic setup, however, connectedness has only been shown under stronger connectedness assumptions on the state space. Under a weak continuity condition on the random dynamical system we prove connectedness of the pullback attractor on a connected space. Additionally, we provide an example of a weak random set attractor of a random dynamical system with even more restricti…
In this paper, under some appropriate assumptions, we prove the existence of the minimal time-dependent pullback $\mathcal D_σ^{\mathcal{H}_{t}}$-attractors ${\mathcal{A}}_{\mathcal D_σ^{\mathcal{H}_{t}}}$ for the non-autonomous nonlocal diffusion equations in time-dependent space $\mathcal{H}_{t}(Ω)$. Next, in same phase space, using a priori estimate and energy methods we establish the existence of time-dependent pullback attractors $\left\{A_ξ(t)\right\}_{t \in \mathbb R}$ and the upper semicontinuity of $\left\{A_ξ(t)\right\}_{t \in \mathbb R}$ and the global attractor $A$ of the equation …
For a process U(t,s) acting on a one-parameter family of normed spaces, we present a notion of time-dependent attractor based only on the minimality with respect to the pullback attraction property. Such an attractor is shown to be invariant whenever the process is T-closed for some T>0, a much weaker property than continuity (defined in the text). As a byproduct, we generalize the recent theory of attractors in time-dependent spaces developed in [10]. Finally, we exploit the new framework to study the longterm behavior of wave equations with time-dependent speed of propagation.
This article concerns the long-term random dynamics in regular spaces for a non-autonomous Navier-Stokes equation defined on a bounded smooth domain $\mathcal{O}$ driven by multiplicative and additive noise. For the two kinds of noise driven equations, we demonstrate the existence of a unique pullback attractor which is backward compact and asymptotically autonomous in $\mathbb{L}^2(\mathcal{O})$ and $\mathbb{H}_0^1(\mathcal{O})$, respectively. The backward-uniform flattening property of the solution is used to prove the backward-uniform pullback asymptotic compactness of the non-autonomous ra…
The existence of a random attractor for the stochastic FitzHugh-Nagumo system defined on an unbounded domain is established. The pullback asymptotic compactness of the stochastic system is proved by uniform estimates on solutions for large space and time variables. These estimates are obtained by a cut-off technique.
