Perfect (quantum) state transfer has been proved to be an effective model for quantum information processing. In this paper, we give a characterization of cubelike graphs having perfect edge state transfer. By using a lifting technique, we show that every bent function, and some semi-bent functions as well, can produce some graphs having PEST. Some concrete constructions of such graphs are provided. Notably, using our method, one can obtain some classes of infinite graphs possessing PEST.
A continuous-time quantum random walk describes the motion of a quantum mechanical particle on an underlying graph. The graph itself is associated with a Hilbert space of dimension equal to the number of vertices. The dynamics of the walk is governed by the unitary operator $\mathcal{U}(t) = e^{iAt}$, where $A$ is the adjacency matrix of the graph. An important notion in the quantum random walk is the transfer of a quantum state from one vertex to another. If the fidelity of the transfer is unity, we call it a perfect state transfer. Many graph families have been shown to admit PST or periodic…
A continuous-time quantum walk on a graph evolves according to the unitary operator $e^{-iAt}$, where $A$ is the adjacency matrix of the graph. Perfect state transfer (PST) in a quantum walk is the transfer of a quantum state from one node of a graph to another node with $100\%$ fidelity. It can be shown that the adjacency matrix of a cubelike graph is a finite sum of tensor products of Pauli $X$ operators. We use this fact to construct an efficient quantum circuit for the quantum walk on cubelike graphs. In \cite{Cao2021, rishi2021(2)}, a characterization of integer weighted cubelike graphs i…

Perfect state transfer (PST) has great significance due to its applications in quantum information processing and quantum computation. In this paper we present a characterization on connected simple Cayley graph $Γ={\rm Cay}(G,S)$ having PST. We show that many previous results on periodicity and existence of PST of circulant graphs (where the underlying group $G$ is cyclic) and cubelike graphs ($G=(\mathbb{F}_2^n,+)$) can be derived or generalized to arbitrary abelian case in unified and more simple ways from our characterization. We also get several new results including answers on some probl…
Quantum state transfer within a quantum computer can be achieved by using a network of qubits, and such a network can be modelled mathematically by a graph. Here, we focus on the corresponding Laplacian matrix, and those graphs for which the Laplacian can be diagonalized by a Hadamard matrix. We give a simple eigenvalue characterization for when such a graph has perfect state transfer at time $π/2$; this characterization allows one to choose the correct eigenvalues to build graphs having perfect state transfer. We characterize the graphs that are diagonalizable by the standard Hadamard matrix,…
We study transfer of single photon in an one-dimensional finite Glauber-Fock cavity array whose coupling strengths satisfy a square root law. The evolved state in the array can be mapped to an upper truncated coherent state if the cavities are resonant. Appropriate choices of resonance frequencies provide perfect transfer of a photon between any two cavities in the array. Perfect transfer of the photon allows perfect quantum state transfer between the cavities. Our findings may help in realizing quantum communication and information processing in photonic lattices.
We develop a family of perfect quantum error correcting codes that correct for phase errors that arise on any qubit, at any time, during a perfect state transfer experiment. These ensure that we find the optimal operating regime for corrected state transfer. For a specific class of system, we further show that while dephasing noise can be corrected, depolarising noise cannot.
Certain non-uniformly coupled spin chains can exhibit perfect transfer of quantum states from end to end. Motivated by recent experimental implementations, we extend the simplest such chain to next-to-nearest neighbour (NNN) couplings. It is shown analytically that perfect state transfer can be maintained under the extension and that end-to-end entanglement generation (fractional revival) can occur.
The transfer of data is a fundamental task in information systems. Microprocessors contain dedicated data buses that transmit bits across different locations and implement sophisticated routing protocols. Transferring quantum information with high fidelity is a challenging task, due to the intrinsic fragility of quantum states. We report on the implementation of the perfect state transfer protocol applied to a photonic qubit entangled with another qubit at a different location. On a single device we perform three routing procedures on entangled states with an average fidelity of 97.1%. Our pro…
In this paper, we consider a continuous-time quantum walk based search algorithm. We introduce equitable partition of the graph and perfect state transfer on it. By these two methods, we can calculate the success probability and the finding time of the search algorithm. In addition, we gave some examples of graphs that we can calculate the success probability and the finding time.

Perfect state transfer between two marked vertices of a graph by means of discrete-time quantum walk is analyzed. We consider the quantum walk search algorithm with two marked vertices, sender and receiver. It is shown by explicit calculation that for the coined quantum walks on star graph and complete graph with self-loops perfect state transfer between the sender and receiver vertex is achieved for arbitrary number of vertices $N$ in $O(\sqrt{N})$ steps of the walk. Finally, we show that Szegedy's walk with queries on complete graph allows for state transfer with unit fidelity in the limit o…
We consider a quantum walk with two marked vertices, sender and receiver, and analyze its application to perfect state transfer on complete bipartite graphs. First, the situation with both the sender and the receiver vertex in the same part of the graph is considered. We show that in this case the dynamics of the quantum walk is independent of the size of the second part and reduces to the one for the star graph where perfect state transfer is achieved. Second, we consider the situation where the sender and the receiver vertex are in the opposite parts of the graph. In such a case the state tr…
Perfect state transfer between qubits on a uniformly coupled network, with interactions specified by a graph, has advantages over an engineered chain, such as much faster transfer times (independent of the distance between the input and output vertices). This is achieved by many couplings working in parallel. The trade-offs seem to be the need for increasing connectivity between qubits, and a large number of vertices in the graph. The size of existing graph constructions scale exponentially in the transfer distance, making these schemes impractical over anything but the shortest distances. Thi…
The coherent transfer of excitations between different locations of a quantum many-body system is of primary importance in many research areas, from transport properties in spintronics and atomtronics to quantum state transfer in quantum information processing. We address the transfer of $n>1$ bosonic and fermionic excitations between the edges of a one-dimensional chain modeled by a quadratic hopping Hamiltonian, where the block edges, embodying the sender and the receiver sites, are weakly coupled to the quantum wire. We find that perturbatively perfect coherent transfer is attainable in the…
We introduce an analytical $XX$ spin chain with asymmetrical transport properties. It has an even number $N+1$ of sites labeled by $n=0,\cdots N$. It does not exhibit perfect state transfer (PST) from end-to-end but rather from the first site to the next to last one. In fact, PST of one-excitation states takes place between the even sites: $n\leftrightarrow N-n-1$, $n=0,2,\cdots, N-1$; while states localized at a single odd site undergo fractional revival (FR) over odd sites only. Perfect return is witnessed at double the PST/FR time. The couplings and local magnetic fields are related to the …
In a one-dimensional Heisenberg chain, we show that there are no sets of coupling strengths such that the evolution perfectly transfers a quantum state between the two ends of the chain without the addition of magnetic fields. In lieu of perfect transfer, we consider a range of options for achieving high quality transfer, whether in finite time, or via "pretty good" transfer where one waits long times in the hope of getting arbitrarily close to perfect transfer. In attempting to engineer arbitrarily accurate transfer, we explore a new paradigm that facilitates time estimates for achieving any …
Realizing a controllable network with multiple degrees of interaction is a challenge to physics and engineering. Here, we experimentally report an on-chip reconfigurable network based on nanoelectromechanical resonators with nearest-neighbor (NN) and next-nearest-neighbor (NNN) strong couplings. By applying different parametric voltages on the same on-chip device, we carry out perfect coherent transfer in NN and NNN coupled array networks. Moreover, the low-loss resonators ensure the desired evolution to achieve perfect transfer and the demonstration of the parity-dependent phase relation at t…
A quantum memory is a system that enables transfer, storage, and retrieval of optical quantum states by ON/OFF switching of the control signal in each stages of the memory. In particular, it is known that, for perfect transfer of a single-photon state, appropriate shaping of the input pulse is required. However, in general, such a desirable pulse shape has a complicated form, which would be hard to generate in practice. In this paper, for a wide class of linear quantum memory systems, we develop a method that reduces the complexity of the input pulse shape of a single-photon while maintaining …
