In this paper, we consider a massive charged fermionic quantum field and investigate the current densities induced by a magnetic flux running along the core of an idealized cosmic string in the background geometry of a 5-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime, assuming that an extra dimension is compactified. Along the compact dimension quasi-periodicity condition is imposed on the field with a general phase. Moreover, we admit the presence of a magnetic flux enclosed by the compactified axis. The latter gives rise to Ahanorov-Bohm-like effect on the vacuum expectation value of the currents. In this setup, only azimuthal and axial current densities take place. The former presents two contributions, with the first one due to the cosmic string in a 5-dimensional AdS spacetime without compact dimension, and the second one being induced by the compactification itself. The latter is an odd function of the magnetic flux along the cosmic string and an even function of the magnetic flux enclosed by the compactified axis with period equal to the quantum flux. As to the induced axial current, it is an even function of the magnetic flux along the string's core and an odd function of the magnetic flux enclosed by the compactification perimeter. For untwisted and twisted field along compact dimension, the axial current vanishes. The massless field case is presented as well as some asymptotic limits for the parameters of the model.
We study the fermionic condensate (FC) and the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the energy-momentum tensor for a massive spinor field in the de Sitter (dS) spacetime including an ideal cosmic string. In addition, spatial dimension along the string is compactified to a circle of length $L$. The fermionic field is assumed to obey quasi-periodic condition along the $z$-axis. There are also magnetic fluxes running along the cosmic string and enclosed by the compact dimension. Both, the FC and the VEV of the energy-momentum tensor, are decomposed into two parts: one induced by the cosmic string in…
In this paper, we investigate the fermionic current densities induced by a magnetic flux running along the idealized cosmic string in a four-dimensional spacetime, admitting that the coordinate along the string's axis is compactified. In order to develop this investigation we construct the complete set of fermionic mode functions obeying a general quasiperiodicity condition along the compactified dimension. The vacuum expectation value of the azimuthal current density is decomposed into two parts. The first one corresponds to the uncompactified cosmic string geometry and the second one is the …
In this paper, we analyse the bosonic current densities induced by a magnetic flux running along the core of an idealized cosmic string in a high-dimensional AdS spacetime, admitting that an extra dimension coordinate is compactified. Additionally we admit the presence of a magnetic flux enclosed by the compactified axis. In order to develop this analysis we calculate the complete set of normalized bosonic wave-functions obeying a quasiperiodicity condition, with arbitrary phase $β$, along the compactified extra dimension. In this context, only azimuthal and axial currents densities take place…
We investigate the fermionic condensate (FC) and the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the energy-momentum tensor for a charged massive fermionic field in the geometry of a cosmic string compactified along its axis. In addition, we assume the presence of two types of magnetic fluxes: a flux running along the cosmic string and another enclosed by the compact dimension. These fluxes give rise to Aharanov-Bohm-like effects on the VEVs. The VEVs are decomposed into two parts corresponding to the geometry of a straight cosmic string without compactification plus a topological part induced by the co…
The vacuum expectation value of the fermionic current is evaluated for a massive spinor field in spacetimes with an arbitrary number of toroidally compactified spatial dimensions in presence of a constant gauge field. By using the Abel-Plana type summation formula and the zeta function technique we present the fermionic current in two different forms. Non-trivial topology of the background spacetime leads to the Aharonov-Bohm effect on the fermionic current induced by the gauge field. The current is a periodic function of the magnetic flux with the period equal to the flux quantum. In the abse…
We investigate the fermionic condensate and the vacuum expectation values of the energy-momentum tensor for a massive spinor field in de Sitter spacetime with spatial topology $\mathrm{R}^{p}\times (\mathrm{S}^{1})^{q}$. Both cases of periodicity and antiperiodicity conditions along the compactified dimensions are considered. By using the Abel-Plana formula, the topological parts are explicitly extracted from the vacuum expectation values. In this way the renormalization is reduced to the renormalization procedure in uncompactified de Sitter spacetime. It is shown that in the uncompactified su…
We investigate topological effects of a cosmic string and compactification of a spatial dimension on the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the energy-momentum tensor for a fermionic field in (4+1)-dimensional locally AdS spacetime. The contribution induced by the compactification is explicitly extracted by using the Abel-Plana summation formula. The mean energy-momentum tensor is diagonal and the vacuum stresses along the direction perpendicular to the AdS boundary and along the cosmic string are equal to the energy density. All the components are even periodic functions of the magnetic fluxes…
We investigate the vacuum fermionic currents in the geometry of a compactified cosmic string on background of de Sitter spacetime. The currents are induced by magnetic fluxes running along the cosmic string and enclosed by the compact dimension. We show that the vacuum charge and the radial component of the current density vanish. By using the Abel-Plana summation formula, the azimuthal and axial currents are explicitly decomposed into two parts: the first one corresponds to the geometry of a straight cosmic string and the second one is induced by the compactification of the string along its a…
The Chamblin-Reall background is a static solution of Einstein gravity coupled with a background scalar field and a dynamical domain wall, with the potential of the scalar field being of Liouville type. It can be got by dimensionally reducing a higher dimensional background with a constant potential. Compactified AdS black holes are black hole backgrounds constructed by wrapping one or more spatial directions of a higher dimensional AdS black hole on a torus and then integrating them out. The compactified AdS black hole background is asymptotically flat, non-conformal, and of Chamblin-Reall ty…
Fermionic condensate and the vacuum expectation values of the energy-momentum tensor are investigated for a massive spinor fields in higher-dimensional spacetimes with an arbitrary number of toroidally compactified spatial dimensions. By using the Abel-Plana summation formula and the zeta function technique we present the vacuum expectation values in two different forms. Applications of the general formulae to cylindrical and toroidal carbon nanotubes are given. We show that the topological Casimir energy is positive for metallic cylindrical nanotubes and is negative for semiconducting ones. T…
We provide the metric, the gravitino fields and the gauge fields to all orders in the fermionic zero modes for D=5 and D=4, N=2 gauged supergravity solutions starting from non-extremal AdS--Schwarzschild black holes. We compute the Brown-York stress--energy tensor on the boundary of AdS_5 / AdS_4 spaces and we discuss some implications of the fermionic corrections to perfect fluid interpretation of the boundary theory. The complete non-linear solution, which we denote as fermionic wig, is achieved by acting with supersymmetry transformations upon the supergravity fields and that expansion natu…
In this letter, we systematically explore the holographic (non-)relativistic fermionic spectrum without/with dipole coupling dual to Born-Infeld anti-de Sitter (BI-AdS) black hole. For the relativistic fermionic fixed point, this holographic fermionic system exhibits non-Fermi liquid behavior. Also, with the increase of BI parameter $γ$, the non-Fermi liquid becomes even "more non-Fermi". When the dipole coupling term is included, we find that the BI term makes it a lot tougher to form the gap. While for the non-relativistic fermionic system with large dipole coupling in BI-AdS background, wit…
We investigate the role of quantum fluctuations in the system composed of two branes bounding a region of AdS. It is shown that the modulus effective potential generated by quantum fluctuations of both brane and bulk fields is incapable of stabilizing the space naturally at the separation needed to generate the hierarchy. Consequently, a classical stabilization mechanism is required. We describe the proper method of regulating the loop integrals and show that, for large brane separation, the quantum effects are power suppressed and therefore have negligible affects on the bulk dynamics once a …
In this paper, we analyze the vacuum expectation values (VEVs) of the field squared and the energy-momentum tensor associated with a charged and massive scalar quantum field in a generalized $(D+1)$-dimensional anti-de Sitter space in the presence of a cosmic string, admitting a magnetic flux running along the string's core. In addition we admit that an extra coordinate is compactified to a circle and presents a magnetic flux running along its center. This compactification is implemented by imposing a quasiperiodic condition on the field with an arbitrary phase. The calculation of the VEVs of …
We study the holographic duals of bosonic and fermionic fields and compute their Quasinormal Frequencies (QNF) by exploiting that they are massive charged fields in $\mathrm{AdS_2 \times \mathcal{K}}$. In particular, we assess the stability of the scalar and fermionic operators in Myers-Perry's black holes with equal angular momenta. We compute the central charge and the Hawking-entropy and introduce extremality parameters to determine the properties of the dual CFT. Then, we briefly discuss how detection of Spin-2 fields can pave the way for more deep understanding of the holographic principl…
Fermions scattering on a black hole background cannot develop an instability sourced by superradiance. However, in a global (or planar) AdS$_4$-Reissner-Nordström background fermions can violate the AdS$_2$ fermionic mass stability bound as measured by a near horizon observer at zero temperature. This suggests that AdS-Reissner-Nordström black holes might still be unstable to Dirac perturbations. Motivated by this observation we search for linear mode instabilities of Dirac fields in these backgrounds but find none. This is in contrast with the scalar field case, where a violation of the near-…
Eleven-dimensional supergravity admits non-supersymmetric solutions of the form AdS(5)xM(6) where M(6) is a positive Kahler-Einstein space. We show that the necessary and sufficient condition for such solutions to be stable against linearized bosonic supergravity perturbations can be expressed as a condition on the spectrum of the Laplacian acting on (1,1)-forms on M(6). For M(6)=CP(3), this condition is satisfied, although there are scalars saturating the Breitenlohner-Freedman bound. If M(6) is a product S(2)xM(4) (where M(4) is Kahler-Einstein) then there is an instability if M(4) has a con…
This paper is an investigation of the effects of a thermal bulk fluid in brane world models compactified on AdS_5. Our primary purpose is to study how such a fluid changes the bulk dynamics and to compare these effects with those generated by matter localized to the branes. We find an exact cosmological solution for a thermally excited massless bulk field, as well as perturbative solutions with matter on the brane and in the bulk. We then perturb around these solutions to find solutions for a massive bulk mode in the limit where the bulk mass (m_B) is small compared to the AdS curvature scale …
In this work, we present the quasinormal modes of a fermionic field in the background of Gauss-Bonnet-AdS black holes. We find exact solutions for $D=5$ at the fixed value $α=R^2/2$ of the Gauss--Bonnet coupling constant, with $R$ denoting the AdS radius, and we find numerical solutions for some range of values of the coupling constant $α$ and $D=5, 6$. Mainly, we find two branches of quasinormal frequencies, a branch perturbative in the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant $α$, and another branch nonperturbative in $α$. The phenomena of nonperturbative modes, which seem to be quite general in theor…
We derive the N=1 effective action of the heterotic string compactified on manifolds with SU(3) structure in the presence of background fluxes. We use a Kaluza-Klein reduction and compute the moduli dependence of the Kaehler potential, the gauge kinetic function and the superpotential entirely from fermionic terms of the reduced action.
We derive a metric-like Lagrangian and equations of motion, in AdS space, for multiplets of fermionic fields with spin ranged from 1/2 to s, from their frame-like formulation.
We consider the $AdS_{5}xS^(5)$ integrable model. As it turns out, relying on well known arguments, we claim that the conformally invariant fermionic model is solvable, the resulting solution given in terms of two current algebras realizations.
We investigate the combined effects of a magnetic flux-carrying cosmic string and a brane on the fermionic condensate (FC) and on the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the energy-momentum tensor for a massive charged fermionic field in background of 5-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. The brane is parallel to the AdS boundary and it divides the space into two regions with distinct properties of the fermionic vacuum. For two types of boundary conditions on the field operator and for the fields realizing two inequivalent representations of the Clifford algebra, the brane-induced contri…
Totally symmetric massless fermionic fields of arbitrary spins in AdS(5) are described as su(2,2) multispinors. The approach is based on the well-known isomorfism o(4,2)=su(2,2). Explicitly gauge invariant higher spin free actions are constructed and free field equations are analyzed.
We review the emergence of the ten-dimensional fermionic closed string theories from subspaces of the Hilbert space of the 26-dimensional bosonic closed string theory compactified on an $E_8\times SO(16)$ lattice. They arise from a consistent truncation procedure which generates space-time fermions out of bosons. This procedure is extended to open string sectors. We prove that truncation of the unique tadpole-free $SO(2^{13})$ bosonic string theory compactified on the above lattice determines the anomaly free Chan-Paton group of the Type I theory and the consistent Chan-Paton groups of Type O …
Fermionic totally symmetric arbitrary spin massless fields in AdS space of dimension greater than or equal to four are studied. Using Poincaré parametrization of AdS space, CFT adapted gauge invariant formulation for such fields is developed. We demonstrate that the curvature and radial coordinate contributions to Lagrangian and gauge transformation of the AdS fields can be expressed in terms of ladder operators. Covariant and modified de Donder gauge conditions are proposed. The modified de Donder gauge leads to decoupled equations of motion which can easily be solved in terms of the Bessel f…
The results conjectured here are based on tachyon condensation in compactified bosonic strings. They can in fact be proven from compactification alone, but this step was not treated consistently here. The proof is given in a new version of the paper: hep-th/0106235
We study the fermionic T-duality symmetry of integrable Green-Schwarz sigma models on AdS backgrounds. We show that the sigma model on $AdS_5\times S^1$ background is self-dual under fermionic T-duality. We also construct new integrable sigma models on $AdS_2\times CP^n$. These backgrounds could be realized as supercosets of SU supergroups for arbitrary $n$, but could also be realized as supercosets of OSp supergroups for $n=1,3$. We find that the supercosets based on SU supergroups are self-dual under fermionic T-duality, while the supercosets based on OSp supergroups are not. However, the re…
In this note we consider a fermionic T-duality of the coset realization of the type IIA sigma-model on AdS_4 \times CP^3 with respect to the three flat directions in AdS_4, six of the fermionic coordinates and three of the CP^3 directions. We show that the Buscher procedure fails as it leads to a singular transformation and discuss the result and its implications.
It is proved that when 8 fermions associated with the supersymmetries broken by the AdS_4 x CP^3 superbackground are gauged away by using the kappa-symmetry corresponding equations obtained by variation of the AdS_4 x CP^3 superstring action are contained in the set of fermionic equations of the OSp(4|6)/(SO(1,3) x U(3)) sigma-model.
The unitarity of the NS supersymmetric coset SL(2,R)/U(1) is studied for the discrete representations. The results are applied to the proof of the no-ghost theorem for fermionic strings in AdS(3) x N in the NS sector. A no-ghost theorem is proved for states in flowed discrete representations.
We prove, from bosonic considerations alone, that truncation of the unique tadpole-free $SO(2^{13})$ bosonic string theory compactified on the above lattice determines the anomaly free Chan-Paton group of the Type I theory. It also yi…
We compute the spectrum of color-singlet fermionic operators in the N=2 gauge theory on intersecting D3 and D7-branes using the AdS/CFT correspondence. The operator spectrum is found analytically by solving the equations for the dual D7-brane fluctuations. For the fermionic part of the D7-brane action, we use the Dirac-like form found by Martucci et al. (hep-th/0504041). We also consider the baryon spectrum of a large class of supersymmetric gauge theories using a phenomenological approach to the gauge/gravity duality.
Fermionic T-duality transformation is studied for the N=1 supersymmetric solutions of massive type IIA supergravity with the metric AdS_{10-k} x M_k for k=3 and 5. We derive the Killing spinors of these backgrounds and use them as an input for the fermionic T-duality transformation. The resulting dual solutions form a large family of supersymmetric deformations of the original solutions by complex valued RR fluxes. We observe that the Romans mass parameter does not change under fermionic T-duaity, and prove its invariance in the k=3 case.
We present AdS black hole solutions in four-dimensional N=2 gauged supergravity with the universal hypermultiplet. Here the axion field in this multiplet is dualized to a two-form field. This system is derived from ten-dimensional massive type IIA theory compactified on nearly-Kahler manifold in the presence of geometric fluxes and RR-fluxes. In this work we focus on the simplest coset space G_2/SU(3). Imposing the covariantly constant condition on all scalar fields, we obtain AdS black hole solutions with vanishing electromagnetic charges and arbitrary mass parameter.
We construct the frame-like gauge-invariant Lagrangian formulation for massive fermionic arbitrary spin fields in three-dimensional $AdS$ space. The Lagrangian and complete set of gauge transformations are obtained. We also develop the formalism of gauge-invariant curvatures for the massive theory under consideration and show how the Lagrangian is formulated in their terms. The massive spin-5/2 field is discussed as an example.
We study the fermionic T-duality symmetry of integrable Green-Schwarz sigma-models on AdS backgrounds with Ramond-Ramond fluxes in various dimensions. We show that sigma-models based on supercosets of PSU supergroups, such as AdS_2 \times S^2 and AdS_3 \times S^3 are self-dual under fermionic T-duality, while supercosets of OSp supergroups such as non-critical AdS_2 and AdS_4 models, and the critical AdS_4 \times CP^3 background are not. We present a general algebraic argument to when a supercoset is expected to have a fermionic T-duality symmetry, and when it will fail to have one.
Strong evidence for dual superconformal symmetry in $\mathcal{N} = 6$ superconformal Chern-Simons theory has fueled expectations that the AdS/CFT dual geometry $AdS_4 \times \mathbb{C} P^3$ is self-dual under T-duality. We revisit the problem to identify commuting bosonic and fermionic isometries in a systematic fashion and show that fermionic T-duality, a symmetry originally proposed by Berkovits & Maldacena, inevitably leads to a singularity in the dilaton transformation. We show that TsT deformations commute with fermionic T-duality and comment on T-duality in the corresponding sigma model.…
In this paper, we investigate the vacuum bosonic currents in the geometry of a compactified cosmic string in the background of the de Sitter spacetime. The currents are induced by magnetic fluxes, one running along the cosmic string and another one enclosed by the compact dimension. In order to develop this analysis, we obtain the complete set of normalized bosonic wave-functions obeying a quasiperiodicity condition. In this context, we calculate the azimuthal and axial current densities. Due to the quasiperiodicity condition, the quantum number associated with the compactification of the stri…
Chern-Simons AdS supergravity theories are gauge theories for the super-AdS group. These theories possess a fermionic symmetry which differs from standard supersymmetry. In this paper, we study five-dimensional Chern-Simons AdS supergravity in a Randall-Sundrum scenario with two Minkowski 3-branes. After making modifications to the D = 5 Chern-Simons AdS supergravity action and fermionic symmetry transformations, we obtain a Z_2-invariant total action S = \tilde{S}_bulk + S_brane and fermionic transformations \tildeδ_ε. While \tildeδ_ε\tilde{S}_bulk = 0, the fermionic symmetry is broken by S_b…
We show that the string backgrounds AdS2 x S2 x T6 and AdSd x Sd x Sd x T{10 - 3d} (d = 2, 3) are self-dual under a series of bosonic and fermionic T-dualities. We do this using the fermionic Buscher rules derived by Berkovits and Maldacena, thus working at the level of the supergravity fields. This allows us to explicitly track the behaviour of the RR fields, from which we see that we need T-duality along some torus directions. For the AdS x S x S cases, which contain cosets of D(2,1;alpha), it is necessary to perform bosonic T-duality along some complexified Killing spinors in one of the sph…
We investigate the effects of a brane and magnetic-flux-carrying cosmic string on the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the current density for a charged fermionic field in the background geometry of 4+1 dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. The brane is parallel to the AdS boundary and the cosmic string is orthogonal to the brane. Two types of boundary conditions are considered on the brane that include the MIT bag boundary condition and the boundary conditions in Z2-symmetric braneworld models. The brane divides the space into two regions with different properties of the vacuum state. …
We develop a general gauge invariant Lagrangian construction for half-integer higher spin fields in the AdS space of any dimension. Starting with formulation in terms of auxiliary Fock space we derive the closed nonlinear symmetry algebras of higher spin fermionic fields in the AdS space and find the corresponding BRST operator. A universal procedure of constructing the gauge invariant Lagrangians describing the dynamics of fermionic fields of any spin is developed. No off-shell constraints for the fields and gauge parameters are imposed from the very beginning. It is shown that all the constr…
We extend the search for fermionic subspaces of the bosonic string compactified on E8 X SO(16) lattices to include all fermionic D-branes. This extension constraints the truncation procedure previously proposed and relates the fermionic strings, supersymmetric or not, to the global structure of the SO(16) group. The specific properties of all the fermionic D-branes are found to be encoded in its universal covering, whose maximal toroid defines the configuration space torus of their mother bosonic theory.
This work has as the main aim to explore the nature of the fermionic fields, through a classification of spinor fields about physical space of interest, such as the bulk and the compactified space $S^7$ from the supergravity theories. This classification has an extreme utility in the exploration and in the search for new type of particles, whose observables correspond to bilinear covariants. In this way, these fields are classified into classes, through constraints obtained by means of the Fierz-Pauli-Kofink identities and the bilinear symmetries. We found the Lagrangian terms for the free spi…
Fermionic condensate and the vacuum expectation values of the energy-momentum tensor are investigated for twisted and untwisted massive spinor fields in higher-dimensional de Sitter spacetime with toroidally compactified spatial dimensions. The expectation values are presented in the form of the sum of corresponding quantities in the uncompactified de Sitter spacetime and the parts induced by non-trivial topology. The latter are finite and the renormalization is needed for the first parts only. Closed formulae are derived for the renormalized fermionic vacuum densities in uncompactified odd-di…
The Casimir densities are investigated for a massive spinor field in de Sitter spacetime with an arbitrary number of toroidally compactified spatial dimensions. The vacuum expectation value of the energy-momentum tensor is presented in the form of the sum of corresponding quantity in the uncompactified de Sitter spacetime and the part induced by the non-trivial topology. The latter is finite and the renormalization is needed for the first part only. The asymptotic behavior of the topological term is investigated in the early and late stages of the cosmological expansion. When the comoving leng…
The $D$-brane spectra in the Type IIB string theory compactified on $AdS_{p+2}\times S^{8-p}$ are computed using the K-theory approach. The results signal the existence of the mirror-symmetry-analogue for $D$-branes, analogous to that rised in the context of derived categories.
Based on recent discussions on the so-called unconventional supersymmetry, we analyze a class of solutions of a 5D Chern-Simons AdS-$\mathcal{N}$-SUGRA formulation without gravitino fields. With a Randall-Sundrum-type ansatz, we exploit the properties of Chern-Simons theories to find solutions to the fermionic field equations in a particular dimensional reduction context. We show that this specific dimensional reduction yields a non-trivial equation of motion for the fermionic field. We actually get a non-linear equation of motion for the fermionic fields, typical of models where torsion is pr…
We discuss fermionic higher spin gauge symmetry breaking in AdS space from a holographic perspective. Analogously to the recently discussed bosonic case, the higher spin Goldstino mode responsible for the symmetry breaking has a non-vanishing mass in the limit in which the gauge symmetry is restored. This result is precisely in agreement with the AdS/CFT correspondence, which implies that N=4 SYM at vanishing coupling constant is dual to a theory in AdS which exhibits higher spin gauge symmetry enhancement. When the SYM coupling is non-zero, the current conservation condition becomes anomalous…
For the κ-symmetry gauge fixed superstring action in AdS_5 x S^5 we consider the fermionic fluctuations over a circular bosonic string background with two angular momenta and two winding numbers in S^5. The SU(2)-type redefinitions of fermionic fields and the first-string limit generate a truncated fermionic action for the SU(1|2) sector. It is expressed in a two-dimensional Lorentz-invariant form of a massive Dirac fermion and the plane-wave spectrum for the fermionic excitations is derived. The fermionic spectrum for the SU(2|2) sector is also analyzed.
The study of new BPS objects in AdS_5 has led to a deeper understanding of AdS/CFT. To help complete this picture, and to fully explore the consequences of the supersymmetry algebra, it is also important to obtain new solutions with bulk fermions turned on. In this paper we construct superpartners of the 1/2 BPS black hole in AdS_5 using a natural set of fermion zero modes. We demonstrate that these superpartners, carrying fermionic hair, have conserved charges differing from the original bosonic counterpart. To do so, we find the R-charge and dipole moment of the new system, as well as the ma…
We apply the BRST approach, developed for higher spin field theories, to Lagrangian construction for totally antisymmetric massive fermionic fields in AdS_d space. As well as generic higher spin massive theories, the obtained Lagrangian theory is a reducible gauge model containing, besides the basic field, a number of auxiliary (Stuckelberg) fields and the order of reducibility grows with the value of the rank of the antisymmetric field. However, unlike the generic higher spin theory, for the special case under consideration we show that one can get rid of all the auxiliary fields and the fina…
We find regular axionic Euclidean wormhole solutions in Type IIB string theory compactified on $\text{AdS}_5\times \text{S}^5/\mathbb{Z}_k$. AdS/CFT enables a precise derivation of the axion content of the Euclidean theory, placing the string theory embedding of the wormholes on firm footing. This further sharpens the paradox posed by these solutions.
The AdS/CFT correspondence is established for the AdS_3 space compactified on a solid torus with the CFT field on the boundary. Correlation functions that correspond to the bulk theory at finite temperature are obtained in the regularization a'la Gubser, Klebanov, and Polyakov. The BTZ black hole solutions in AdS_3 are T-dual to the solution in the AdS_3 space without singularity.
This thesis aims to explore the effects caused by the presence of Grassmann numbers in two different frameworks derived from AdS/CFT correspondence: purely fermionic sigma-models and fluid/gravity correspondence. The first analysis we present deals with fermionic sigma-models constructed by means of purely fermionic coset spaces, namely we consider models with anticommuting target-space fields only. We notice that the Grassmanian behaviour of the fields implies several simplifications when we derive the action and the radiative corrections, however it provides obstructions to some supercoordin…
We review peculiar features of type IIA string theory compactified on AdS(4) x CP(3) superspace, in particular, the structure of the Green-Schwarz action, issues with fixing its kappa-symmetry, classical integrability and the string instanton on CP(3)
