We study the AKNS($N$) hierarchy for $N=3,4,5,6$. We give the Hirota bilinear forms of these systems and present local and nonlocal reductions of them. We give the Hirota bilinear forms of the reduced equations. The compatibility of the commutativity diagrams of the application of the recursion operator, reductions of the AKNS($N$) systems, and Hirota bilinearization is also studied.
In this work we continue to study negative AKNS($N$) that is AKNS($-N$) system for $N=3,4$. We obtain all possible local and nonlocal reductions of these equations. We construct the Hirota bilinear forms of these equations and find one-soliton solutions. From the reduction formulas we obtain also one-soliton solutions of all reduced equations.
We first construct a $(2+1)$-dimensional negative AKNS hierarchy and then we give all possible local and (discrete) nonlocal reductions of these equations. We find Hirota bilinear forms of the negative AKNS hierarchy and give one- and two-soliton solutions. By using the soliton solutions of the negative AKNS hierarchy we find one-soliton solutions of the local and nonlocal reduced equations.
Superpositions of hierarchies of integrable equations are also integrable. The superposed equations, such as the Hirota equations in the AKNS hierarchy, cannot be considered as new integrable equations. Furthermore if one applies the Hirota bilinear method to these equations one obtains the same $N$-soliton solutions of the generating equation which differ only by the dispersion relations. Similar discussions can be made for the locally and nonlocally reduced equations as well. We give, as an example, AKNS system of equations in $(1+1)$-dimensions.
Bilinear Identities and Hirota's Bilinear Forms for an Extended Kadomtsev-Petviashvili Hierarchy
在本文中,我们构造了一个扩展的Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(KP)族的波函数的双线性恒等式,该KP族是具有特定扩展流的KP族(2008,Phys. Lett. A,372:3819)。 与Hu和Wang(2007,Inverse Problems,23:1433)的结果相比,本文得到的KPSCS的Hirota双线性方程组形式更为简单.
Lump solutions are analytical rational function solutions localized in all directions in space. We analyze a class of lump solutions, generated from quadratic functions, to nonlinear partial differential equations. The basis of success is the Hirota bilinear formulation and the primary object is the class of positive multivariate quadratic functions. A complete determination of quadratic functions positive in space and time is given, and positive quadratic functions are characterized as sums of squares of linear functions. Necessary and sufficient conditions for positive quadratic functions to…
The Hirota-Miwa equation (also known as the discrete KP equation, or the octahedron recurrence) is a bilinear partial difference equation in three independent variables. It is integrable in the sense that it arises as the compatibility condition of a linear system (Lax pair). The Hirota-Miwa equation has infinitely many reductions of plane wave type (including a quadratic exponential gauge transformation), defined by a triple of integers or half-integers, which produce bilinear ordinary difference equations of Somos/Gale-Robinson type. Here it is explained how to obtain Lax pairs and presymple…
We present some observations on the tau-function for the fourth Painlevé equation. By considering a Hirota bilinear equation of order four for this tau-function, we describe the general form of the Taylor expansion around an arbitrary movable zero. The corresponding Taylor series for the tau-functions of the first and second Painlevé equations, as well as that for the Weierstrass sigma function, arise naturally as special cases, by setting certain parameters to zero.
The Vortex Filament Equation (VFE) is part of an integrable hierarchy of filament equations. Several equations part of this hierarchy have been derived to describe vortex filaments in various situations. Inspired by these results, we develop a general framework for studying the existence and the linear stability of closed solutions of the VFE hierarchy. The framework is based on the correspondence between the VFE and the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) hierarchies. Our results show that it is possible to establish a connection between the AKNS Floquet spectrum and the stability properties of the s…
A new relativistic integrable nonlinear model for real, Majorana type spinor fields in 1+1 dimensions, gauge equivalent to Papanicolau spin model, defined on the one sheet hyperboloid is introduced. By using the double numbers, the model is represented as hyperbolic complex valued relativistic massive Thirring type model. By Hirota's bilinear method, an exact one and two dissipative soliton solutions of this model are constructed. Calculation of first three integrals of motion for one dissipaton solution shows that the last one represents a particle-like nonlinear excitation, with relativistic…
We introduce a class of reductions of the two-component KP hierarchy, which includes the Hirota-Ohta system hierarchy. The description of the reduced hierarchies is based on the Hirota bilinear identity and an extra bilinear relation characterising the reduction. We derive the reduction conditions in terms of the Lax operator and higher linear operators of the hierarchy, as well as in terms of the basic two-component KP system of equations.
We introduce a two-parameter family of birational maps, which reduces to a family previously found by Demskoi, Tran, van der Kamp and Quispel (DTKQ) when one of the parameters is set to zero. The study of the singularity confinement pattern for these maps leads to the introduction of a tau function satisfying a homogeneous recurrence which has the Laurent property, and the tropical (or ultradiscrete) analogue of this homogeneous recurrence confirms the quadratic degree growth found empirically by Demskoi et al. We prove that the tau function also satisfies two different bilinear equations, eac…
Writing the Hirota-Satsuma (HS) system of equations in a symmetrical form we find its local and new nonlocal reductions. It turns out that all reductions of the HS system are Korteweg-de Vries (KdV), complex KdV, and new nonlocal KdV equations. We obtain one-soliton solutions of these KdV equations by using the method of Hirota bilinearization.
Hirota bilinear form and soliton solutions for super-KdV of Kuperschmidt (Kuper-KdV) are given. It is shown that even though the collision of supersolitons is more complicated than in the case of supersymmetric KdV of Manin-Radul, the asymptotic effect of the interaction is simpler. As a physical application it is shown that the well known FPU problem having a phonon-mediated interaction of some internal degrees of freedom expressed through grassmann fields, goes to the Kuper-KdV equation in a multiple-scale approach.
We first study coupled Hirota-Iwao modified KdV (HI-mKdV) systems and give all possible local and nonlocal reductions of these systems. We then present Hirota bilinear forms of these systems and give one-soliton solutions of them with the help of pfaffians. By using the soliton solutions of the coupled HI-mKdV systems for $N=2,3,$ and $N=4$ we find one-soliton solutions of the local and nonlocal reduced equations.
In this paper, we construct the bilinear identities for the wave functions of an extended B-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (BKP) hierarchy, which contains two types of (2+1)-dimensional Sawada-Kotera equation with a self-consistent source (2d-SKwS-I and 2d-SKwS-II). By introducing an auxiliary variable corresponding to the extended flow for the BKP hierarchy, we find the tau-function and the bilinear identities for this extended BKP hierarchy. The bilinear identities can generate all the Hirota's bilinear equations for the zero-curvature forms of this extended BKP hierarchy. As examples, the Hiro…
We present some nonlocal integrable systems by using the Ablowitz-Musslimani nonlocal reductions. We first present all possible nonlocal reductions of nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) and modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) systems. We give soliton solutions of these nonlocal equations by using the Hirota method. We extend the nonlocal NLS equation to nonlocal Fordy-Kulish equations by utilizing the nonlocal reduction to the Fordy-Kulish system on symmetric spaces. We also consider the super AKNS system and then show that Ablowitz-Musslimani nonlocal reduction can be extended to super integrable equa…

We study the integrability of a family of birational maps obtained as reductions of the discrete Hirota equation, which are related to travelling wave solutions of the lattice KdV equation. In particular, for reductions corresponding to waves moving with rational speed N/M on the lattice, where N,M are coprime integers, we prove the Liouville integrability of the maps when N + M is odd, and prove various properties of the general case. There are two main ingredients to our construction: the cluster algebra associated with each of the Hirota bilinear equations, which provides invariant (pre)sym…
A new transformation $u=4 ({\rm ln}f)_x$ that can formulate a quintic linear equation and a pair of Hirota's bilinear equations for the (2+1)-dimensional Sawada-Kotera (2DSK) equation is reported firstly, which enables one to obtain a new hierarchy of multiple soliton solutions of the 2DSK equation. It tells a crucial fact that a nonlinear partial differential equation could possess two hierarchies of multiple soliton solutions and the 2DSK equation is the first and only one found in this paper. The quintic linear equation is solved by a pair of Hirota's bilinear equations, of which one is the…
We propose a new bilinear Hirota equation for $τ$-functions associated with the $E_8$ root lattice, that provides a "lens" generalisation of the $τ$-functions for the elliptic discrete Painlevé equation. Our equations are characterized by a positive integer $r$ in addition to the usual elliptic parameters, and involve a mixture of continuous variables with additional discrete variables, the latter taking values on the $E_8$ root lattice. We construct explicit $W(E_7)$-invariant hypergeometric solutions of this bilinear Hirota equation, which are given in terms of elliptic hypergeometric sum/in…
