We show that G-equivariant K-semistability (resp. G-equivariant K-polystability) implies K-semistability (resp. K-polystability) for log Fano pairs when G is a finite group.
We give an algebraic proof of the equivalence of equivariant K-semistability (resp. equivariant K-polystability) with geometric K-semistability (resp. geometric K-polystability). Along the way we also prove the existence and uniqueness of minimal optimal destabilizing centers on K-unstable log Fano pairs.
It is conjectured that to test the K-polystability of a polarised variety it is enough to consider test-configurations which are equivariant with respect to a torus in the automorphism group. We prove partial results towards this conjecture. We also show that it would give a new proof of the K-polystability of constant scalar curvature polarised manifolds.
We introduce and study $μ$K-stability of polarized schemes with respect to general test configurations as an algebro-geometric aspect of the existence of $μ$-cscK metrics, which is introduced in the paper arXiv:1902.00664 as a framework unifying the frameworks of Kähler-Ricci solitons and cscK metrics. This article consists of two ingredients. On one hand, we develop a foundational framework concerning `derivative of relative equivariant intersection', which we call equivariant calculus. A core claim in equivariant calculus is a convergence result for some infinite series in equivariant cohomo…
We define G-pseudovaluations on a variety with a group action G. By introducing G-pseudovaluations, we are able to give some criteria for G-equivariant K-stability of Fano varieties which are parallel to existing results for usual K-stability.
We prove two new results on the K-polystability of Q-Fano varieties based on purely algebro-geometric arguments. The first one says that any K-semistable log Fano cone has a special degeneration to a uniquely determined K-polystable log Fano cone. As a corollary, we combine it with the differential-geometric results to complete the proof of Donaldson-Sun's Conjecture which says that the metric tangent cone of any close point appearing on a Gromov-Hausdorff limit of Kahler-Einstein Fano manifolds only depends on the algebraic structure of the singularity. The second result says that for any lo…
We apply equivariant localisation to the theory of $Z$-stability and $Z$-critical metrics on a Kähler manifold $(X,α)$, where $α$ is a Kähler class. We show that the invariants used to determine $Z$-stability of the manifold, which are integrals over test configurations, can be written as a product of equivariant classes, hence equivariant localisation can be applied. We also study the existence of $Z$-critical Kähler metrics in $α$, whose existence is conjectured to be equivalent to $Z$-stability of $(X,α)$. In particular, we study a class of invariants that give an obstruction to the existen…
We study the equivariant cobordism theory of schemes for torus actions. We give the explicit relation between the equivariant and the ordinary cobordism of schemes with torus action. We deduce analogous results for action of arbitrary connected linear algebraic groups. We prove some structure theorems for the equivariant and ordinary cobordism of schemes with torus action and derive important consequences. We establish the localization theorems in this setting. These are used to describe the structure of the ordinary cobordism ring of certain smooth projective varieties.
We give a complete answer to the question of (semi)stability of tangent bundle of any nonsingular projective complex toric variety with Picard number 2 by using combinatorial crietrion of (semi)stability of an equivariant sheaf. We also give a complete answer to the question of (semi)stability of tangent bundle of all toric Fano 4-folds with Picard number (\leq) 3 which are classified by Batyrev \cite{batyrev}. We have constructed a collection of equivariant indecomposable rank 2 vector bundles on Bott tower and pseudo-symmetric toric Fano varieties. Further in case of Bott tower, we have show…
We show the existence of an equivariant weight filtration on the equivariant homology of real algebraic varieties equipped with a finite group action, by applying group homology onto the weight complex of McCrory and Parusiński. The group action enriches the information contained in the induced equivariant weight spectral sequence from which we can not extract finite additivity directly if the group is of even order. Still, we manage to construct additive invariants from its elementary bricks, and prove that they are induced from the very equivariant geometry of real algebraic varieties with a…
To smooth schemes equipped with a smooth affine group scheme action, we associate an equivariant motivic homotopy category. Underlying our construction is the choice of an `equivariant Nisnevich topology' induced by a complete, regular, and bounded $cd$-structure. We show equivariant $K$-theory of smooth schemes is represented in the equivariant motivic homotopy category. This is used to characterize equivariantly contractible smooth affine curves and equivariant vector bundles on such curves. Generalizations of the purity and blow-up theorems in motivic homotopy theory are shown for actions o…
We classify equivariantly Gorenstein log del Pezzo surfaces with boundaries at infinity and with finite group actions such that the quotient surface modulo the finite group has Picard number one. We also determine the corresponding finite groups. Better figures are available upon request.
We study the equivariant cobordism theory of schemes for action of linear algebraic groups. We compare the equivariant cobordism theory for the action of a linear algebraic groups with similar groups for the action of tori and deduce some consequences for the cycle class map of the classifying space of an algebraic groups.
The familiar Fourier-Mukai technique can be extended to an equivariant setting where a finite group $G$ acts on a smooth projective variety $X$. In this paper we compare the group of invariant autoequivalences $\Aut(D(X))^G$ with the group of autoequivalences of $D^G(X)$. We apply this method in three cases: Hilbert schemes on K3 surfaces, Kummer surfaces and canonical quotients.
The main result of this paper is the description of asymptotics along rays in weight space of traces of equivariant Toeplitz operators composed with quantomorphisms for torus actions. The main ingredient in the proof is the microlocal analysis of the equivariant Szego kernels.
We study the equivariant category associated to a finite group action on the derived category of coherent sheaves of a smooth projective variety. We discuss decompositions of the equivariant category and faithful actions, prove the existence of a Serre functor, give a criterion for the equivariant category to be Calabi--Yau, and describe an obstruction for a subgroup of the group of auto-equivalences to act. As application we show that the equivariant category of any symplectic action on the derived category of an elliptic curve is equivalent to the derived category of an elliptic curve.
We introduce equivariant Burnside groups, new invariants in equivariant birational geometry, generalizing birational symbols groups for actions of finite abelian groups, due to Kontsevich, Pestun, and the second author, and study their properties. We establish a specialization map for the equivariant birational type of a smooth algebraic variety with an action of a finite group.
Suppose given a linearized action on a polarized complex projective manifold (M,L), and assume that the stable locus is non-empty. We study the leading asymptotics of the dimension of the equivariant summands appearing in the space of global sections of high powers of L. We use Kirwan resolutions and an elementary algebro-geometric argument to reduce the problem to the case of non-singular actions (that is, actions for which the stable and semistable loci coincide and are non-empty).
For a formal scheme over a complete discrete valuation ring with a good action of a finite group, we define equivariant motivic integration, and we prove a change of variable formula for that.To do so, we construct and examine an induced group action on the Greenberg scheme of such a formal scheme. Using this equivariant motivic integration, we define an equivariant volume Poincaré series, from which we deduce Denef and Loeser's motivic zeta function including the action of the profinite group of roots of unity.
We extend the equivariant holomorphic Morse inequalities of circle actions to cases with torus and non-Abelian group actions on holomorphic vector bundles over Kahler manifolds and show the necessity of the Kahler condition. For torus actions, there is a set of inequalities for each choice of action chambers specifying directions in the Lie algebra of the torus. We apply the results to invariant line bundles over toric manifolds. If the group is non-Abelian, there is in addition an action of the Weyl group on the fixed-point set of its maximal torus. The sum over the fixed points can be rearra…
We show that when a torus $T$ acts on a smooth variety $X$, the twisted HKR isomorphism is equivariant. The main consequence is that the Bezrukavnikov- Lachowska isomorphism, relating the Hochschild cohomology of the principal block of the small quantum group to certain sheaf cohomology groups on the Springer resolution $\widetilde{\mathcal{N}}$ , can be upgraded to a ring isomorphism by a twist.
We define the equivariant Chern-Schwartz-MacPherson class of a possibly singular algebraic variety with a group action over the complex number field (or a field of characteristic 0). In fact, we construct a natural transformation from the equivariant constructible function functor to the equivariant homology functor (in the sense of Totaro-Edidin-Graham), which may be regarded as MacPherson's transformation for (certain) quotient stacks. We discuss on other type Chern/Segre classes and give some applications generalizing orbifold Euler characteristics and Thom polynomials of singularities. The…
In Part II, we saw how genus-0 permutation-equivariant quantum K-theory of a manifold with isolated fixed points of a torus action can be reduced via fixed point localization to permutation-equivariant quantum K-theory of the point. In Part III, we gave a complete description of genus-0 permutation-equivariant quantum K-theory of the point by means of adelic characterization. Here we apply the adelic characterization to introduce the action on this theory of a certain group of $q$-difference operators. This action will enable us to prove that toric $q$-hypergeometric functions represent K-theo…
We study the equivariant cobordism rings for the action of a torus $T$ on smooth varieties over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We prove a theorem describing the rational $T$-equivariant cobordism rings of smooth projective $G$-spherical varieties with the action of a maximal torus $T$ of $G$. As an application, we obtain explicit presentations for the rational equivariant cobordism rings of smooth projective horospherical varieties of Picard number one.
Given an action of a finite group $G$ on the derived category of a smooth projective variety $X$ we relate the fixed loci of the induced $G$-action on moduli spaces of stable objects in $D^b(\mathrm{Coh}(X))$ with moduli spaces of stable objects in the equivariant category $D^b(\mathrm{Coh}(X))_G$. As an application we obtain a criterion for the equivariant category of a symplectic action on the derived category of a symplectic surface to be equivalent to the derived category of a surface. This generalizes the derived McKay correspondence, and yields a general framework for describing fixed lo…
Let $X$ be a complex toric variety equipped with the action of an algebraic torus $T$, and let $G$ be a complex linear algebraic group. We classify all $T$-equivariant principal $G$-bundles $\mathcal{E}$ over $X$ and the morphisms between them. When $G$ is connected and reductive, we characterize the equivariant automorphism group $\text{Aut}_T(\mathcal{E} )$ of $\mathcal{E}$ as the intersection of certain parabolic subgroups of $G$ that arise naturally from the $T$-action on $\mathcal{E}$. We then give a criterion for the equivariant reduction of the structure group of $\mathcal{E}$ to a Levi…
We propose two conjectural relationships between the equivariant Gromov-Witten invariants of the resolved conifold under diagonal and anti-diagonal actions and the Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb{P}^1$, and verify their validity in genus zero approximation. We also provide evidences to support the validity of these relationships in genus one and genus two.
The Seidel maps are two maps associated to a Hamiltonian circle action on a convex symplectic manifold, one on Floer cohomology and one on quantum cohomology. We extend their definitions to $S^1$-equivariant Floer cohomology and $S^1$-equivariant quantum cohomology based on a construction of Maulik and Okounkov. The $S^1$-action used to construct $S^1$-equivariant Floer cohomology changes after applying the equivariant Seidel map (a similar phenomenon occurs for $S^1$-equivariant quantum cohomology). We show the equivariant Seidel map on $S^1$-equivariant quantum cohomology does not commute wi…
A new proof of equivariant resolution of singularities under a finite group action in characteristic 0 is provided. We assume we know how to resolve singularities without group action. We first prove equivariant resolution of toroidal singularities. Then we reduce the general case to the toroidal case.
Let $G$ be an affine group scheme over a noetherian commutative ring $R$. We show that every $G$-equivariant vector bundle on an affine toric scheme over $R$ with $G$-action is extended from $\Spec(R)$ for several cases of $R$ and $G$. We show that given two affine schemes with group scheme actions, an equivalence of the equivariant derived categories implies isomorphism of the equivariant $K$-theories as well as equivariant $K'$-theories.
Let $X$ be a 3-dimensional affine variety with a faithful action of a 2-dimensional torus $T$. Then the space of first order infinitesimal deformations $T^1(X)$ is graded by the characters of $T$, and the zeroth graded component $T^1(X)_0$ consists of all equivariant first order (infinitesimal) deformations. Suppose that using the construction of such varieties from [1], one can obtain $X$ from a proper polyhedral divisor $\mathscr D$ on $\mathbb P^1$ such that the tail cone of (any of) the used polyhedra is pointed and full-dimensional, and all vertices of all polyhedra are lattice points. Th…
For a complex smooth projective surface $M$ with an action of a finite cyclic group $G$ we give a uniform proof of the isomorphism between the invariant $H^1(G, H^2(M, {\mathbb Z}))$ and the first cohomology of the divisors fixed by the action, using $G$-equivariant cohomology. This generalizes the main result of Bogomolov and Prokhorov "On stable conjugacy of finite subgroups of the plane Cremona group, I".
Consider a finite group $G$ acting on a triangulated category $\mathcal T$. In this paper we investigate triangulated structure on the category $\mathcal T^G$ of $G$-equivariant objects in $\mathcal T$. We prove (under some technical conditions) that such structure exists. Supposed that an action on $\mathcal T$ is induced by a DG-action on some DG-enhancement of $\mathcal T$, we construct a DG-enhancement of $\mathcal T^G$. Also, we show that the relation "to be an equivariant category with respect to a finite abelian group action" is symmetric on idempotent complete additive categories.
In this paper we construct the action of Ding-Iohara and shuffle algebras in the sum of localized equivariant K-groups of Hilbert schemes of points on C^2. We show that commutative elements K_i of shuffle algebra act through vertex operators over positive part {h_i}_{i>0} of the Heisenberg algebra in these K-groups. Hence we get the action of Heisenberg algebra itself. Finally, we normalize the basis of the structure sheaves of fixed points in such a way that it corresponds to the basis of Macdonald polynomials in the Fock space k[h_1,h_2,...].
We derive a version of the Rothenberg-Steenrod, fiber-to-base, spectral sequence for cohomology theories represented in model categories of simplicial presheaves. We then apply this spectral sequence to calculate the equivariant motivic cohomology of the general linear group with a general Gm-action, this coincides with the equivariant higher Chow groups. Some of the equivariant motivic cohomology of a Stiefel variety with a general Gm-action is deduced as a corollary.
An old result of the first author and David Lieberman says that if a compact Kaehler manifold X admits a holomorphic vector field V having at least one zero, then the Dolbeault cohomology algebra H^*(X, Ω^*) of X is isomorphic with the bigraded algebra associated to a certain filtered graded ring. If V has isolated zeros this is the graded algebra associated to a certain filtration of the coordinate ring of the scheme Z defined by zero(V). The purpose of this note is to show that if V is generated by a torus action then equivariant Dolbeault cohomology can be used to give direct geometric proo…
In this paper we develop an equivariant intersection theory for actions of algebraic groups on algebraic schemes. The theory is based on our construction of equivariant Chow groups. They are algebraic analogues of equivariant cohomology groups which satsify the formal properties of ordinary Chow groups. In addition, they enjoy many of the properties of equivariant cohomology. The principal results are: (1) We prove the existence of canonical intersection products on the Chow groups of geometric quotients of smooth varieties- even when the stabilizers of geometric points are non-reduced. (2) We…
Suppose given an Hamiltonian action of a compact semisimple Lie group on a polarized complex projective manifold $(M,L)$. We study by means of microlocal techniques the local and global asymptotic behaviour of linear series on $M$ defined in terms of the action and the irreducible representations of $G$.
We give a brief introduction to the Berline-Vergne localization formula for the finite-dimensional setting and indicate how the Duistermaat-Heckman formula is derived from it. We consider applications of the localization formula when it is specialized to a maximal dimensional co-adjoint orbit. In particular, the case when the co-adjoint orbit is a quotient $G/T$ of a connected Lie group $G$ modulo a maximal torus $T$ is analyzed in detail. We describe also a generalization of the localization formula to non-compact group actions.
The paper is based on a talk. Complete exposition is given in "Equivariant Hirzebruch class for singular varieties". Starting from the classical theory we describe Hirzebruch class and the related Todd genus of a complex singular algebraic varieties. When the variety is equipped with an action of an algebraic torus we localize the Hirzebruch class at the fixed points of the action. We give some examples of computations.
