In this article, the open problem of finding the exact value of the norm of the Hilbert matrix operator on weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_α$ is adressed. The norm was conjectured to be $\fracπ{\sin \frac{(2+α)π}{p}}$ by Karapetrović. We obtain a complete solution to the conjecture for $α\ge 0$ and $2+α+\sqrt{α^2+\frac{7}{2}α+3} \le p < 2(2+α)$ and a partial solution for $2+2α< p < 2+α+\sqrt{α^2+\frac{7}{2}α+3}.$ Moreover, we also show that the conjecture is valid for small values of $α$ when $2+2α< p \le 3+2α.$ Finally, the case $α= 1$ is considered.
Sub-Bergman Hilbert spaces are analogues of de Branges-Rovnyak spaces in the Bergman space setting. They are reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces contractively contained in the Bergman space of the unit disk. K. Zhu analyzed sub-Bergman Hilbert spaces associated with finite Blaschke products, and proved that they are norm equivalent to the Hardy space. Later S. Sultanic found a different proof of Zhu's result, which works in weighted Bergman space settings as well. In this paper, we give a new approach to this problem and obtain a stronger result. Our method relies on the theory of reproducing ke…
In this note, we frst consider boundedness properties of a family of operators generalizing the Hilbert operator in the upper triangle case. In the diagonal case, we give the exact norm of these operators under some restrictions on the parameters. We secondly consider boundedness properties of a family of positive Bergman-type operators of the upper-half plane. We give necessary and sufficient conditions on the parameters under which these operators are bounded in the upper triangle case.

The results in the paper are related to the classification problem for invariant subspaces of multiplication operators in several variables. The main results consist of characterizations, in the two dimensional case, of ideals of polynomials and analytic functions which are closed in the relative topology induced by Bergman spaces on certain domains. This provides proofs of the Bergman space analogues of a conjecture of R. G. Douglas and V. Paulsen.
This is our third work on Bergman-type operator over bounded domains. In the previous two articles, we systematically study the boundedness, compactness and Schatten membership of Bergman-type on the Hilbert unit ball. In the present paper, we investigate singular integral operators induced by the Bergman kernel and Szegö kernel on the irreducible bounded symmetric domain in its standard Harish-Chandra realization. We completely characterize when Bergman-type operators and Szegö-type operators belong to Schatten class operator ideals by several analytic numerical invariants of the bounded symm…
We first show that the canonical solution operator to d-bar restricted to (0,1)-forms with holomorphic coefficients can be expressed by an integral operator using the Bergman kernel. This result is used to prove that in the case of the unit disc in C the canonical solution operator to d-bar restricted to (0,1)-forms with holomorphic coefficients is a Hilbert-Schmidt operator. In the sequel we give a direct proof of the last statement using orthonormal bases and show that in the case of polydisc and the unit ball in C^n, n>1, the corresponding operator fails to be a Hilbert-Schmidt operator.
In a wide class of weighted Bergman spaces, we construct invertible non-cyclic elements. These are then used to produce z-invariant subspaces of index higher than one. In addition, these elements generate nontrivial bilaterally invariant subspaces in anti-symmetrically weighted Hilbert spaces of sequences.
We compute the exact value of the essential norm of a generalized Hilbert matrix operator acting on weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_v$ and weighted Banach spaces $H^\infty_v$ of analytic functions, where $v$ is a general radial weight. In particular, we obtain the exact value of the essential norm of the classical Hilbert matrix operator on standard weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_α$ for $p>2+α, \, α\ge 0,$ and on Korenblum spaces $H^\infty_α$ for $0 < α< 1.$ We also cover the Hardy space $H^p, \, 1 < p < \infty,$ case. In the weighted Bergman space case, the essential norm of the Hilbert matrix is …
In this paper, we give some estimates for the essential norm and a new characterization for the boundedness and compactness of weighted composition operators from weighted Bergman spaces and Hardy spaces to the Bloch space.
In this paper we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the canonical solution operator to $\overline \partial $ restricted to radial symmetric Bergman spaces to be a Hilbert-Schmidt operator. We also discuss compactness of the solution operator in spaces of entire functions in one variable. In the sequel we consider several examples and also treat the case of weighted spaces of entire functions in several variables.
Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{C}$ be an arbitrary domain in the one-dimensional complex plane equipped with a positive Radon measure $μ$. For any $1\le p< \infty$, it is shown that the weighted Bergman space $A^p(Ω, μ)$ of holomorphic functions is a Banach space if and only if $A^p(Ω, μ)$ has locally uniformly bounded point evaluations. In particular, in the case $p =2$, any complete Bergman space $A^2(Ω, μ)$ is automatically a reproducing kernel Hilbert space.
We generalize a well-known sufficient condition for interpolating sequences for the Hilbert Bergman spaces to other Bergman spaces with normal weights (as defined by Shields and Williams) and obtain new results regarding the membership of the derivative of a Blashke product or a general inner function in such spaces. We also apply duality techniques to obtain further results of this type and obtain new results about interpolating Blaschke products.
We use the author's previous work on atomic decompositions of Besov spaces with spectrum on symmetric cones, to derive new atomic decompositions for Bergman spaces on tube type domains. It is related to work by Ricci and Taibleson who derived decompositions for classical Besov spaces from atomic decompositions of Bergman spaces on the upper half plane. Moreover, for this class of domains our method is an alternative to classical results by Coifman and Rochberg, and it works for a larger range of Bergman spaces.
We study the boundedness and compactness of the generalized Volterra integral operator on weighted Bergman spaces with doubling weights on the unit disk. A generalized Toeplitz operator is defined and the boundedness, compactness and Schatten class of this operator are investigated on the Hilbert weighted Bergman space. As an application, Schatten class membership of generalized Volterra integral operators are also characterized. Finally, we also get the characterizations of Schatten class membership of generalized Toeplitz operator and generalized Volterra integral operators on the Hardy spac…
An equivalent norm in the weighted Bergman space $A^p_ω$, induced by an $ω$ in a certain large class of non-radial weights, is established in terms of higher order derivatives. Other Littlewood-Paley inequalities are also considered. On the way to the proofs, we characterize the $q$-Carleson measures for the weighted Bergman space $A^p_ω$ and the boundedness of a Hörmander-type maximal function. Results obtained are further applied to describe the resolvent set of the integral operators $T_g(f)(z)=\int_0^z g'(ζ)f(ζ)\,dζ$ acting on $A^p_ω$.
We study bounds for the backward shift operator $f \mapsto (f(z)-f(0))/z$ and the related operator $f \mapsto f - f(0)$ on Hardy and Bergman spaces of analytic and harmonic functions. If $u$ is a real valued harmonic function, we also find a sharp bound on $M_1(r,u-u(0))$ in terms of $\|u\|_{h^1}$, where $M_1$ is the integral mean with $p=1$.
We observe that local embedding problems for certain Hardy and Bergman spaces of Dirichlet series are equivalent to boundedness of a class of composition operators. Following this, we perform a careful study of such composition operators generated by polynomial symbols $φ$ on a scale of Bergman--type Hilbert spaces $\mathcal{D}_α$. We investigate the optimal $β$ such that the composition operator $\mathcal{C}_φ$ maps $\mathcal{D}_α$ boundedly into $\mathcal{D}_β$. We also prove a new embedding theorem for the non-Hilbertian Hardy space $\mathcal H^p$ into a Bergman space in the half-plane and …
We obtain some estimates for norm and essential norm of the difference of two composition operators between weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_α$ and $A^q_β$ on the unit ball. In particular, we completely characterize the boundedness and compactness of $C_φ-C_ψ: A^p_α\to A^q_β$ for full range $0<p,q<\infty$, $-1<α,β<\infty$.
The Hilbert spaces are common. But the direct connection between them is rare. The aim of this paper is to establish a direct relation among the three Hilbert spaces Hardy, Bergman and Dirichlet without defining any of the Hilbert space in weighted sense. In order to accomplish this goal, this paper develops the Littlewood-Paley type Identities for Bergman and Dirichlet space. After defining these identities, the vision of connecting all the three Hilbert spaces via a direct connection is achieved.
In this paper we study the Bergman-Toeplitz operator $T_ψ$ induced by $ψ(w) = K_Ω^{-α}(w,w)d_Ω^β(w)$ with $α, β\geq 0$ acting from a weighted $L^p$-space $L_a^p(Ω)$ to another one $L_a^q(Ω)$ on a large class of pseudoconvex domains of finite type. In the case $1 < p \leq q < \infty$, the following results are established: \\ - Necessary and sufficient conditions for boundedness, which generalize the recent results obtained by Khanh, Liu and Thuc.\\ - Upper and lower estimates for essential norm, in particular, a criterion for compactness.\\ - A characterization of Schatten class membership of …
We use induction and interpolation techniques to prove that a composition operator induced by a map $ϕ$ is bounded on the weighted Bergman space $\A^2_α(\mathbb{H})$ of the right half-plane if and only if $ϕ$ fixes $\infty$ non-tangentially, and has a finite angular derivative $λ$ there. We further prove that in this case the norm, essential norm, and spectral radius of the operator are all equal, and given by $λ^{(2+α)/2}$.
This paper concerns a commutant lifting theorem and a Nevanlinna-Pick type interpolation result in the setting of multipliers from vector-valued Drury-Arveson space to a large class of vector-valued reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces over the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^n$. The special case of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces includes all natural examples of Hilbert spaces like Hardy space, Bergman space and weighted Bergman spaces over the unit ball.
In this work, we extend the theory of Békollè-Bonami $B_p$ weights. Here we replace the constant $p$ by a non-negative measurable function $p(\cdot),$ which is log-Hölder continuous function with lower bound $1$. We show that the Bergman projector on the unit ball of $\mathbb C^n$ is continuous on the weighted variable Lebesgue spaces $L^{p(\cdot)}(w)$ if and only if $w$ belongs to the generalised Békollè-Bonami class $B_{p(\cdot)}$. To achieve this, we define a maximal function and show that it is bounded on $L^{p(\cdot)}(w)$ if $w\in B_{p(\cdot)}$. We next state and prove a weighted extrapol…
We introduce and study some new spaces of holomorphic functions on the right half-plane. In a previous work, S. Krantz, C. Stoppato and the first named author formulated the M"untz--Sz'asz problem for the Bergman space, that is, the problem to characterize the sets of complex powers that form a complete set the unweighted Bergman space of a disc. In this paper, we construct a space of holomorphic functions on the right half-plane, whose sets of uniqueness correspond exactly to the sets of powers that are a complete set in Bergman space. We show that this space is a reproducing kernel Hilbert s…
We study the restriction operator from the Bergman space of a domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ to the Bergman space of a non-empty open subset of the domain. We relate the restriction operator to the Toeplitz operator on the Bergman space of the domain whose symbol is the characteristic function of the subset. Using the biholomorphic invariance of the spectrum of the associated Toeplitz operator, we study the restriction operator from the Bergman space of the unit disc to the Bergman space of subdomains with large symmetry groups, such as horodiscs and subdomains bounded by hypercycles. Furthermore, w…
The main purpose of this survey is to gather results on the boundedness of the Bergman projection. First, we shall go over some equivalent norms on weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_ω$ which are useful in the study of this question. In particular, we shall focus on a decomposition norm theorem for radial weights~$ω$ with the doubling property $\int_{r}^1ω(s)\,ds\le C\int_{\frac{1+r}{2}}^1ω(s)\,ds$.
We give estimates for the essential norms of a positive Toeplitz operator on the Bergman space of a minimal bounded homogeneous domain in terms of the Berezin transform or the averaging function of the symbol. Using these estimates, we also give necessary and sufficient conditions for the positive Toeplitz operators to be compact.
In this paper, we obtain a complete characterization for the compact difference of two composition operators acting on Bergman spaces with weight $ω=e^{-η}$, $Δη>0$ in terms of the $η$-derived pseudodistance of two analytic self maps. In addition, we provide simple inducing maps which support our main result. We also study the topological path component of the space of all bounded composition operators on $A^2(ω)$ endowed with the Hilbert-Schmidt norm topology.
We characterize the symbols $Φ$ for which there exists a weight w such that the weighted composition operator M w C $Φ$ is compact on the weighted Bergman space B 2 $α$. We also characterize the symbols for which there exists a weight w such that M w C $Φ$ is bounded but not compact. We also investigate when there exists w such that M w C $Φ$ is Hilbert-Schmidt on B 2 $α$.
Let $H_m(\mathbb B)$ be the analytic functional Hilbert space on the unit ball $\mathbb B \subset \mathbb C^n$ with reproducing kernel $K_m(z,w) = (1 - \langle z,w \rangle)^{-m}$. Using algebraic operator identities we characterize those commuting row contractions $T \in L(H)^n$ on a Hilbert space $H$ that decompose into the direct sum of a spherical coisometry and copies of the multiplication tuple $M_z \in L(H_m(\mathbb B))^n$. For $m=1$, this leads to a Wold decomposition for partially isometric commuting row contractions that are regular at $z = 0$. For $m = 1 = n$, the results reduce to t…
In this paper, we investigate the boundedness, compactness, essential norm and the Schatten class of weighted composition operators $uC_φ$ on Bergman type spaces $A_ω^p $ with double weight $ω$. Let $X=\{u\in H(D): uC_φ:A_ω^p\to A_ω^p \mbox{ is bounded}\}.$ For some regular weights $ω$, we obtain that $X=H^\infty$ if and only if $φ$ is a finite Blaschke product.
We describe the range of of weighted Cauchy transform and its $k$-Bergman projection when action on weighted true poly-Bargmann spaces constituting an orthogonal Hilbertian decomposition of the Hilbert space of Gaussian functions on the complex plane.
In this paper, we study the complex symmetry of weighted composition-differentiation operator $D_{n, ψ, ϕ}$ on weighted Bergman spaces $\mathcal{A}^2_α$ with respect to the conjugation $C_{μ, η}$ for $μ, η\in \{z\in \mathbb{C}:|z|=1\}$. We obtain explicit conditions for which the operator $D_{n, ψ, ϕ}$ is Hermitian and normal. We also characterize the complex symmetric weighted composition-differentiation operator for derivative Hardy spaces.
We show that the weighted Bergman-Orlicz space $A\_α^ψ$ coincides with some weighted Banach space of holomorphic functions if and only if the Orlicz function $ψ$ satisfies the so-called $Δ^{2}$--condition. In addition we prove that this condition characterizes those $A\_α^ψ$ on which every composition operator is bounded or order bounded into the Orlicz space $L\_α^ψ$. This provides us with estimates of the norm and the essential norm of composition operators on such spaces. We also prove that when $ψ$ satisfies the $Δ^{2}$--condition, a composition operator is compact on $A\_α^ψ$ if and only …
For a Dirichlet series g, we study the Volterra operator Tg of symbol g, acting on a class of weighted Hilbert spaces of Dirichlet series. We obtain sufficient / necessary conditions for Tg to be bounded (resp. compact), involving BMO and Bloch type spaces on some half-plane. We also investigate the membership of Tg in Schatten classes. We also relate the boundedness of Tg to the boundedness of a multiplicative Hankel form of symbol g.
In this paper, we show that on the weighted Bergman space of the unit disk the essential norm of a noncompact Hankel operator equals its distance to the set of compact Hankel operators and is realized by infinitely many compact Hankel operators, which is analogous to the theorem of Axler, Berg, Jewell and Shields on the Hardy space in Axler et al. (1979); moreover, the distance is realized by infinitely many compact Hankel operators with symbols continuous on the closure of the unit disk and vanishing on the unit circle.
If $g$ is an analytic function in the unit disc $\D $ we consider the generalized Hilbert operator $\hg$ defined by {equation*}\label{H-g} \mathcal{H}_g(f)(z)=\int_0^1f(t)g'(tz)\,dt. {equation*} We study these operators acting on classical spaces of analytic functions in $\D $. More precisely, we address the question of characterizing the functions $g$ for which the operator $\hg $ is bounded (compact) on the Hardy spaces $H^p$, on the weighted Bergman spaces $A^p_α$ or on the spaces of Dirichlet type $\mathcal D^p_α$.
We consider operators acting on a Hilbert space that can be written as the sum of a shift and a diagonal operator and determine when the operator is hyponormal. The condition is presented in terms of the norm of an explicit block Jacobi matrix. We apply this result to the Toeplitz operator with specific algebraic symbols acting on certain weighted Bergman spaces of the unit disk and determine when such operators are hyponormal.
In this paper, we give some results concerning atomic decompositions for operators on reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, using frame theory techniques. We provide also generalizations for atomic decompositions of some theorems for reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. In particular, we obtain atomic decomposition results for operators on Bergman spaces and Fock spaces in a simple manner.
We characterize the compactness of composition operators; in term of generalized Nevanlinna counting functions, on a large class of Hilbert spaces of analytic functions, which can be viewed between the Bergman and the Dirichlet spaces
If $ψ$ is analytic on the open unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ and $φ$ is an analytic self-map of $\mathbb{D}$, the weighted composition operator $C_{ψ,φ}$ is defined by $C_{ψ,φ}f(z)=ψ(z)f (φ(z))$, when $f$ is analytic on $\mathbb{D}$. In this paper, we study normal, cohyponormal, hyponormal and normaloid weighted composition operators on the Hardy and weighted Bergman spaces. First, for some weighted Hardy spaces $H^{2}(β)$, we prove that if $C_{ψ,φ}$ is cohyponormal on $H^{2}(β)$, then $ψ$ never vanishes on $\mathbb{D}$ and $φ$ is univalent, when $ψ\not \equiv 0$ and $φ$ is not a constant function. M…
