We establish a weighted $L^p$ norm estimate for the Bergman projection for a class of pseudoconvex domains. We obtain an upper bound for the weighted $L^p$ norm when the domain is, for example, a bounded smooth strictly pseudoconvex domain, a pseudoconvex domain of finite type in $\mathbb C^2$, a convex domain of finite type in $\mathbb C^n$, or a decoupled domain of finite type in $\mathbb C^n$. The upper bound is related to the Bekollé-Bonami constant and is sharp. When the domain is smooth, bounded, and strictly pseudoconvex, we also obtain a lower bound for the weighted norm.
Consider the Bergman kernel $K^B(z)$ of the domain $\ellip = \{z \in \Comp^n ; \sum_{j=1}^n |z_j|^{2m_j}<1 \}$, where $m=(m_1,\ldots,m_n) \in \Natl^n$ and $m_n \neq 1$. Let $z^0 \in \partial \ellip$ be any weakly pseudoconvex point, $k \in \Natl$ the degenerate rank of the Levi form at $z^0$. An explicit formula for $K^B(z)$ modulo analytic functions is given in terms of the polar coordinates $(t_1, \ldots, t_k, r)$ around $z^0$. This formula provides detailed information about the singularities of $K^B(z)$, which improves the result of A. Bonami and N. Lohoué \cite{bol}. A similar result is e…
We establish a weighted inequality for the Bergman projection with matrix weights for a class of pseudoconvex domains. We extend a result of Aleman-Constantin and obtain the following estimate for the weighted norm of $P$: \[\|P\|_{L^2(Ω,W)}\leq C(\mathcal B_2(W))^{2}.\] Here $\mathcal B_2(W)$ is the Bekollé-Bonami constant for the matrix weight $W$ and $C$ is a constant that is independent of the weight $W$ but depends upon the dimension and the domain.
We obtain local estimates, also called propagation of smallness or Remez-type inequalities, for analytic functions in several variables. Using Carleman estimates, we obtain a three sphere-type inequality, where the outer two spheres can be any sets satisfying a boundary separation property, and the inner sphere can be any set of positive Lebesgue measure. We apply this local result to characterize the dominating sets for Bergman spaces on strongly pseudoconvex domains in terms of a density condition or a testing condition on the reproducing kernels. Our methods also yield a sufficient conditio…
We construct a solution operator for $\overline{\partial}$ equation that gains $\frac{1}{2}$ derivative in the fractional Sobolev space $H^{s,p}$ on bounded strictly pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$ with $C^2$ boundary, for all $1 < p < \infty$ and $ s > \frac{1}{p}$.
This paper presents monotonicity of subelliptic estimates on rigid pseudoconvex domains. As an application of monotonicity, we will show that if a rigid monomial domain is of finite type in the D'Angelo's sense, then the sharp subelliptic estimate of this domain equals the reciprocal of the type.
In this paper, we study the behavior of the weighted composition operators acting on Bergman spaces defined on strictly pseudoconvex domains via the sparse domination technique from harmonic analysis. As a byproduct, we also prove a weighted type estimate for the weighted composition operators which is adapted to Sawyer-testing conditions. Our results extend the work by the first author, Li, Shi and Wick under a much more general setting.
We introduce a new integral representation formula in the d-bar Neumann Theory on weakly pseudoconvex domains which satisfies certain estimates analogous to the basic L^2 estimate. It is expected that more complete estimates can be obtained in case the boundary is of finite type.
We obtain weighted estimates for the $\bar{\partial}$-Neumann operator on intersections of two smooth strictly pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^2$. The regularity estimates are described with the use of Sobolev norms with weights which are powers of the defining functions of the two domains.
A uniform upper bound for the Diederich--Fornaess index is given for weakly pseudoconvex domains whose Levi-form of the boundary vanishes in $\ell$-directions everywhere.
We give estimates of the $L^p$ norm of the Bergman projection on a strongly pseudoconvex domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$. We show that this norm is comparable to $\frac{p^2}{p - 1}$ for $1 <p< \infty$.
This paper is concerned with proving superlogarithmic estimates for the operator $\Box_b$ on pseudoconvex CR manifolds and using them to establish hypoellipticity of $\Box_b$ and of the $\bar{\partial}$-Neumann problem. These estimates are established under the assumption that subellipticity degenerates in certain specified ways.
An extension of the estimates for the squeezing function of strictly pseudoconvex domains obtained recently by J. E. Fornæss and E. Wold in \cite{FW1} is applied to derive a sharp boundary behaviour of invariant metrics and Bergman curvatures.
It is well known that elliptic estimates fail for the $\bar\partial$-Neumann problem. Instead, the best that one can hope for is that derivatives in every direction but one can be estimated by the associated Dirichlet form, and when this happens, we say that the $\bar\partial$-Neumann problem satisfies maximal estimates. In the pseudoconvex case, a necessary and sufficient geometric condition for maximal estimates has been derived by Derridj (for $(0,1)$-forms) and Ben Moussa (for $(0,q)$-forms when $q\geq 1$). In this paper, we explore necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for maxima…
We apply modern techniques of dyadic harmonic analysis to obtain sharp estimates for the Bergman projection in weighted Bergman spaces. Our main theorem focuses on the Bergman projection on the Hartogs triangle. The estimates of the operator norm are in terms of a Bekollé-Bonami type constant. As an application of the results obtained, we give, for example, an upper bound for the $L^p$ norm of the Bergman projection on the generalized Hartogs triangle $\mathbb H_{m/n}$ in $\mathbb C^2$.
We derive a new homotopy formula for a strictly pseudoconvex domain of $C^2$ boundary in ${\mathbf C}^n$ by using a method of Lieb and Range and obtain estimates in Lipschitz spaces for the homotopy operators. For $r>1$ and $q>0$, we obtain a $Λ_{r+{1}/{2}}$ solution $u$ to $\overline\partial u=f$ for $\overline\partial$-closed $(0,q)$ forms $f$ of class $Λ_{r}$ on the domain. We apply the estimates to obtain boundary regularities of $\mathcal D$-solutions for a domain in the Levi-flat Euclidean space.
Let $D$ be a strictly pseudoconvex domain and $X$ be a singular analytic set of pure dimension $n-1$ in $C^n$ such that $X\cap D\neq \emptyset$ and $X\cap bD$ is transverse. We give sufficient conditions for a function holomorphic on $D\cap X$ to admit a holomorphic extension which belongs to $L^q(D),$ $q\in [1,+\infty[$, or to $BMO(D)$. The extension is given by mean of integral representation formulas and residue currents.
The goal of this note is to explore the relationship between the Folland-Kohn basic estimate and the $Z(q)$-condition. In particular, on unbounded pseudoconvex (resp., pseudoconcave) domains, we prove that the Folland-Kohn basic estimate is equivalent to uniform strict pseudoconvexity (resp., pseudoconcavity). As a corollary, we observe that despite the Siegel upper half space being strictly pseudoconvex and biholomorphic to a the unit ball, it fails to satisfy uniform strict pseudoconvexity and hence the Folland-Kohn basic estimate fails. On unbounded non-pseudoconvex domains, we show that th…
In this paper, we introduce a concept of super-pseudoconvex domain. We prove that the solution of the Feffereman equation on a smoothly bounded strictly pseudoconvex domain $D$ in $\CC^n$ is plurisubharmonic if and only if $D$ is super-pseudoconvex. As an application, we give a lower bound estimate the bottom of the spectrum of Laplace-Beltrami operators when $D$ is super-pseudoconvex by using the result of Li and Wang \cite{LiWang}.
The $k$-Cauchy-Fueter operators and complexes are quaternionic counterparts of the Cauchy-Riemann operator and the Dolbeault complex in the theory of several complex variables. To develop the function theory of several quaternionic variables, we need to solve the non-homogeneous $k$-Cauchy-Fueter equation over a domain under the compatibility condition, which naturally leads to a Neumann problem. The method of solving the $\overline{\partial}$-Neumann problem in the theory of several complex variables is applied to this Neumann problem. We introduce notions of $k$-plurisubharmonic functions an…
We give a parameter version of Graham-Kerzman approximation theorem for bounded holomorphic functions on strictly pseudoconvex domains. As an application, we present some uniform estimates for the boundary behaviour of the Kobayashi and Carathéodory pseudodistences on such domains.
For a domain $D$ of $\mathbb{C}^n$ which is weakly $q$-pseudoconvex or $q$-pseudoconcave we give a sufficient condition for subelliptic estimates for the $\bar{\partial}$-Neumann problem. The paper extends to domains which are not necessarily pseudoconvex, the results and the techniques of Catlin. MSC: 32D10, 32U05, 32V25
Let D be a J-pseudoconvex region in a smooth almost complex manifold (M,J) of real dimension four. We construct a local peak J-plurisubharmonic function at every boundary point p of finite D'Angelo type. As applications we give local estimates of the Kobayashi pseudometric, implying the local Kobayashi hyperbolicity of D at p. In case the point p is of D'Angelo type less than or equal to four, or the approach is nontangential, we provide sharp estimates of the Kobayashi pseudometric.
In this paper, we generalize a recent work of Liu et al. from the open unit ball $\mathbb B^n$ to more general bounded strongly pseudoconvex domains with $C^2$ boundary. It turns out that part of the main result in this paper is in some certain sense just a part of results in a work of Bracci and Zaitsev. However, the proofs are significantly different: the argument in this paper involves a simple growth estimate for the Carathéodory metric near the boundary of $C^2$ domains and the well-known Graham's estimate on the boundary behavior of the Carathéodory metric on strongly pseudoconvex domain…
A new explicit construction of Cauchy-Fantappié kernels is introduced for an arbitrary weakly pseudoconvex domain with smooth boundary. While not holomorphic in the parameter, the new kernel reflects the complex geometry and the Levi form of the boundary. Some estimates are obtained for the corresponding integral operator, which provide evidence that this kernel and related constructions give useful new tools for complex analysis on this general class of domains.
We derive estimates in a weighted Sobolev space $W^{k,p}_μ(D)$ for a homotopy operator on a bounded strictly pseudoconvex domain $D$ of $C^2$ boundary in ${\C}^n$. As a result, we show that given any $2n < p < \infty$, $k > 1$, $q \geq 1$, and a $\dbar$-closed $(0,q)$ form $\var$ of class $W^{k,p}(D)$, there exist a solution $u$ to $\dbar u = \var$ such that $u \in W^{k,p}_{\yh-\ve}(D)$ for any $\ve > 0$. If $k=1$, then we can take $p$ to be any value between $1$ and $\infty$. In other words, the solution gains almost $\yh$-derivative in a suitable sense.
We present a method of obtaining a lower bound estimate of the curvatures of the Bergman metric without using the regularity of the kernel function on the boundary. As an application, we prove the existence of an uniform lower bound of the bisectional curvatures of the Bergman metric of a smooth bounded pseudoconvex domain near the boundary with constant Levi rank.
This work consists of two parts. In the first part, we consider a compact connected strongly pseudoconvex CR manifold $X$ with a transversal CR $S^{1}$ action. We establish an equidistribution theorem on zeros of CR functions. The main techniques involve a uniform estimate of Szegő kernel on $X$. In the second part, we consider a general complex manifold $M$ with a strongly pseudoconvex boundary $X$. By using classical result of Boutet de Monvel-Sjöstrand about Bergman kernel asymptotics, we establish an equidistribution theorem on zeros of holomorphic functions on $\overline M$.
Our main goal is to describe the integral kernel of the dbar-Neumann operator on certain non-smooth domains, the so-called Henkin-Leiterer domains. We do so by explicitly constructing an integral kernel which accounts for the main mapping properties of the operator. We use our calculations to derive $L^p$ estimates.
We prove that the Kobayashi distance near boundary of a pseudoconvex Reinhardt domain $D$ increases asymptotically at most like $-\log d_D+C$. Moreover, for boundary points from $\text{int}\bar{D}$ the growth does not exceed $1/2\log(-\log d_D)+C$. The lower estimate by $-1/2\log d_D+C$ is obtained under additional assumptions of $\mathcal C^1$-smoothness of a domain and a non-tangential convergence.
The Diederich--Fornæss index has been introduced since 1977 to classify bounded pseudoconvex domains. In this article, we derive several intrinsic, geometric conditions on boundary of domains for arbitrary indexes. Many results, in the past, by various mathematicians estimated the index by assuming some properties of domains. Our motivation of this paper is, the other way around, to look for how the index effects properties and shapes of domains. Especially, we look for a necessary condition of all bounded pseudoconvex domains $Ω\subset\mathbb{C}^2$ with the Diederich--Fornæss index 1. We also…
We consider the curvature strict positivity of the direct image bundle associated to a pseudoconvex family of bounded domains. The main result is that the curvature of the direct image bundle associated to a strictly pseudoconvex family of bounded circular domains or Reinhardut domains are strictly positive in the sense of Nakano, even if the weight functions are not strictly plurisubharmonic. This result gives a new geometric insight about the property of strict pseudoconvexity, and has some applications in complex analysis and convex analysis. We investigate that the main result implies a re…
We prove non-subelliptic estimates for the tangential Cauchy-Riemann system over a weakly "$q$-pseudoconvex" higher codimensional submanifold $M$ of $\C^n$. Let us point out that our hypotheses do not suffice to guarantee subelliptic estimates, in general. Even more: hypoellipticity of the tangential C-R system is not in question (as shows the example by Kohn in case of a Levi-flat hypersurface). However our estimates suffice for existence of smooth solutions to the inhomogeneous C-R equations in certain degree. The main ingredients in our proofs are the weighted $L^2$ estimates by Hörmander a…
We develop a method for proving sup-norm and Hölder estimates for $\overline{\partial}$ on wide class of finite type pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$. A fundamental obstruction to proving sup-norm estimates is the possibility of singular complex curves with exceptionally high order of contact with the boundary. Our method handles this problem, and in $\mathbb{C}^3$, we prove sup-norm and Hölder estimates for all bounded, pseudoconvex domains with real-analytic boundary.
We characterize the weights for which we have the boundedness of standard weighted integral operators induced by the Bergman-Besov kernels acting between two general weighted Lebesgue classes on the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^N$ in terms of Békollé - Bonami type condition on the weights. To accomplish this we employ the proof strategy originated by Békollé.
Let $M$ be a pseudoconvex, oriented, bounded and closed CR submanifold of $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ of hypersurface type. Our main result says that when a certain $1$-form on $M$ is exact on the null space of the Levi form, then the complex Green operator on $M$ satisfies Sobolev estimates. This happens in particular when $M$ admits a set of plurisubharmonic defining functions or when $M$ is strictly pseudoconvex except for the points on a simply connected complex submanifold.
By establishing a unified estimate of the twisted Kohn-Morrey-Hörmander estimate and the $q$-pseudoconvex Ahn-Zampieri estimate, we discuss variants of Property $(P_q)$ of Catlin and Property $(\widetilde{P_q})$ of McNeal on the boundary of a smooth pseudoconvex domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ for certain high level forms. These variant conditions on the one side, imply $L^2$-compactness of the $\overline{\partial}$-Neumann operator on the associated domain, on the other side, are different from the classical Property $(P_q)$ and Property $(\widetilde{P_q})$. As an application of our result, we show …
We obtain $L^p$ regularity for the Bergman projection on some Reinhardt domains. We start with a bounded initial domain $Ω$ with some symmetry properties and generate successor domains in higher {dimensions}. We prove: If the Bergman kernel on $Ω$ satisfies appropriate estimates, then the Bergman projection on the successor is $L^p$ bounded. For example, the Bergman projection on successors of strictly pseudoconvex initial domains is bounded on $L^p$ for $1<p<\infty$. The successor domains need not have smooth boundary nor be strictly pseudoconvex.
We refine estimates introduced by Balogh and Bonk, to show that the boundary extensions of isometries between smooth strongly pseudoconvex domains in $\C^n$ are conformal with respect to the sub-Riemannian metric induced by the Levi form. As a corollary we obtain an alternative proof of a result of Fefferman on smooth extensions of biholomorphic mappings between pseudoconvex domains. The proofs are inspired by Mostow's proof of his rigidity theorem and are based on the asymptotic hyperbolic character of the Kobayashi or Bergman metrics and on the Bonk-Schramm hyperbolic fillings.
We give estimates for the squeezing function on strictly pseudoconvex domains, and derive some sharp estimates for the Caratheodory, Sibony and Azukawa metric near their boundaries.
In this paper we study the Bergman-Toeplitz operator $T_ψ$ induced by $ψ(w) = K_Ω^{-α}(w,w)d_Ω^β(w)$ with $α, β\geq 0$ acting from a weighted $L^p$-space $L_a^p(Ω)$ to another one $L_a^q(Ω)$ on a large class of pseudoconvex domains of finite type. In the case $1 < p \leq q < \infty$, the following results are established: \\ - Necessary and sufficient conditions for boundedness, which generalize the recent results obtained by Khanh, Liu and Thuc.\\ - Upper and lower estimates for essential norm, in particular, a criterion for compactness.\\ - A characterization of Schatten class membership of …
We consider the subharmonicity property of the logarithm of Azukawa pseudometrics of pseudoconvex domains under pseudoconvex variations. We prove that such a property holds for the variation of balanced domains. We also give a non-balanced example. The relation of the volume of Azukawa indicatrix and the estimate in the Ohsawa-Takegoshi $L^2$-extension theorem is also discussed.
In this paper we investigate the regularity properties of weighted Bergman projections for smoothly bounded pseudo-convex domains of finite type in $\mathbb{C}^{n}$. The main result is obtained for weights equal to a non negative rational power of the absolute value of a special defining function $ρ$ of the domain: we prove (weighted) Sobolev-$L^{p}$ and Lipchitz estimates for domains in $\mathbb{C}^{2}$ (or, more generally, for domains having a Levi form of rank $\geq n-2$ and for "decoupled" domains) and for convex domains. In particular, for these defining functions, we generalize results o…
We study spectral stability of the $\bar\partial$-Neumann Laplacian on a bounded domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ when the underlying domain is perturbed. In particular, we establish upper semi-continuity properties for the variational eigenvalues of the $\bar\partial$-Neumann Laplacian on bounded pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$, lower semi-continuity properties on pseudoconvex domains that satisfy property ($P$), and quantitative estimates on smooth bounded pseudoconvex domains of finite D'Angelo type in $\mathbb{C}^n$.
In this note we show that the weighted $L^{2}$-Sobolev estimates obtained by P. Charpentier, Y. Dupain & M. Mounkaila for the weighted Bergman projection of the Hilbert space $L^{2}\left(Ω,dμ_{0}\right)$ where $Ω$ is a smoothly bounded pseudoconvex domain of finite type in $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ and $μ_{0}=\left(-ρ_{0}\right)^{r}dλ$, $λ$ being the Lebesgue measure, $r\in\mathbb{Q}_{+}$ and $ρ_{0}$ a special defining function of $Ω$, are still valid for the Bergman projection of $L^{2}\left(Ω,dμ\right)$ where $μ=\left(-ρ\right)^{r}dλ$, $ρ$ being any defining function of $Ω$. In fact a stronger direct…
Let $D$ be a strictly pseudoconvex domain in $\C^N$ and $X$ a pure-dimensional non-reduced subvariety that behaves well at $\partial D$. We provide $L^p$-estimates of extensions of holomorphic functions defined on $X$.
