We first seek the rebit-retrit counterpart to the (formally proven by Lovas and Andai) two-rebit Hilbert-Schmidt separability probability of $\frac{29}{64} =\frac{29}{2^6} \approx 0.453125$ and the qubit-qutrit analogue of the (strongly supported) value of $\frac{8}{33} = \frac{2^3}{3 \cdot 11} \approx 0.242424$. We advance the possibilities of a rebit-retrit value of $\frac{860}{6561} =\frac{2^2 \cdot 5 \cdot 43}{3^8} \approx 0.131078$ and a qubit-qutrit one of $\frac{27}{1000} = (\frac{3}{10})^3 =\frac{3^3}{2^3 \cdot 5^3} = 0.027$. These four values for $2 \times m$ systems ($m=2,3$) suggest certain numerator/denominator sequences involving powers of $m$, which we further investigate for $m>3$. Additionally, we find that the Hilbert-Schmidt separability/PPT-probabilities for the two-rebit, rebit-retrit and two-retrit $X$-states all equal $\frac{16}{3 π^2} \approx 0.54038$, as well as more generally, that the probabilities based on induced measures are equal across these three sets. Then, we extend the master Lovas-Andai formula to induced measures. For instance, the two-qubit function ($k=0$) is $\tildeχ_{2,0}(\varepsilon)=\frac{1}{3} \varepsilon^2 (4 -\varepsilon^2)$, yielding $\frac{8}{33}$, while its $k=1$ induced measure counterpart is $\tildeχ_{2,1}(\varepsilon)=\frac{1}{4} \varepsilon ^2 \left(3-\varepsilon ^2\right)^2$, yielding $\frac{61}{143} =\frac{61}{11 \cdot 13} \approx 0.426573$, where $\varepsilon$ is a singular-value ratio. Interpolations between Hilbert-Schmidt and operator monotone (Bures, $\sqrt{x}$) measures are also studied. Using a recently-developed golden-ratio-related (quasirandom sequence) approach, current (significant digits) estimates of the two-rebit and two-qubit Bures separability probabilities are 0.15709 and 0.07331, respectively.
We study the noisy GHZ-W mixture. We demonstrate some necessary but not sufficient criteria for different classes of separability of these states. It turns out that the partial transposition criterion of Peres and the criteria of Gühne and Seevinck dealing with matrix elements are the strongest ones for different separability classes of this 2 parameter state. As a new result we determine a set of entangled states of positive partial transpose.
We extend the findings and analyses of our two recent studies (Phys. Rev. A, 75, 032326 [2007] and arXiv:0704.3723) by, first, obtaining numerical estimates of the separability function based on the (Euclidean, flat) Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) metric for the 27-dimensional convex set of quaternionic two-qubit systems. The estimated function appears to be strongly consistent with our previously-formulated Dyson-index (beta = 1, 2, 4) ansatz, dictating that the quaternionic (beta=4) separability function should be exactly proportional to the square of the separability function for the 15-dimensional c…
Milz and Strunz ({\it J. Phys. A}: {\bf{48}} [2015] 035306) recently studied the probabilities that two-qubit and qubit-qutrit states, randomly generated with respect to Hilbert-Schmidt (Euclidean/flat) measure, are separable. They concluded that in both cases, the separability probabilities (apparently exactly $\frac{8}{33}$ in the two-qubit scenario) hold {\it constant} over the Bloch radii ($r$) of the single-qubit subsystems, jumping to 1 at the pure state boundaries ($r=1$). Here, firstly, we present evidence that in the qubit-qutrit case, the separability probability is uniformly distrib…
Previously, a formula, incorporating a $5F4$ hypergeometric function, for the Hilbert-Schmidt-averaged determinantal moments $\left\langle \left\vert ρ^{PT}\right\vert ^{n}\left\vert ρ\right\vert ^{k}\right\rangle /\left\langle \left\vert ρ\right\vert ^{k}\right\rangle$ of $4 \times 4$ density-matrices ($ρ$), and their partial transposes ($ρ^{PT}|$) was applied with $k=0$ to the generalized two-qubit separability-probability question. The formula can, further, be viewed we note here, as an averaging over "induced measures in the space of mixed quantum states". The associated induced-measure se…
Two-qubit X-matrices have been the subject of considerable recent attention, as they lend themselves more readily to analytical investigations than two-qubit density matrices of arbitrary nature. Here, we maximally exploit this relative ease of analysis to formally derive an exhaustive collection of results pertaining to the separability probabilities of generalized two-qubit X-matrices endowed with Hilbert-Schmidt and, more broadly, induced measures. Further, the analytical results obtained exhibit interesting parallels to corresponding earlier (but, contrastingly, not yet fully rigorous) res…
We study, further, a conjectured formula for generalized two-qubit Hilbert-Schmidt separability probabilities that has recently been proven by Lovas and Andai (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1610.01410.pdf) for its real (two-rebit) asserted value ($\frac{29}{64}$), and that has also been very strongly supported numerically for its complex ($\frac{8}{33}$), and quaternionic ($\frac{26}{323}$) counterparts. Now, we seek to test the presumptive octonionic value of $\frac{44482}{4091349} \approx 0.0108722$. We are somewhat encouraged by certain numerical computations, indicating that this (51-dimensional) …
We report substantial progress in the study of separability functions and their application to the computation of separability probabilities for the real, complex and quaternionic qubit-qubit and qubit-qutrit systems. We expand our recent work (arXiv:0704.3723), in which the Dyson indices of random matrix theory played an essential role, to include the use of not only the volume element of the Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) metric, but also that of the Bures (minimal monotone) metric as measures over these finite-dimensional quantum systems. Further, we now employ the Euler-angle parameterization of den…
Using the Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) decomposition we suggest new possible choices of Bell operators and entanglement witnesses (EW ) for n (>2) qubits systems for (full/bi) separability. The latter give upper bounds for (full/bi) separability. Also using the HS decomposition, we find explicitly (full/bi) separable forms for some qubits states which give lower bounds for (full/bi) separability. When the lower bounds and upper bounds coincide it means that the EW is optimal. In the case of full separability, the positive transpose method can sometimes give optimal results. As concrete examples, we gi…
The partial separability of multipartite qubit density matrixes is strictly defined. We give a reduction way from N-partite qubit density matrixes to bipartite qubit density matrixes, and prove a necessary condition that a N-partite qubit density matrix to be partially separable is its reduced density matrix to satisfy PPT condition.
Firstly, we reduce the long-standing problem of ascertaining the Hilbert-Schmidt probability that a generic pair of qubits is separable to that of determining the specific nature of a one-dimensional (separability) function of the radial coordinate (r) of the unit ball in 15-dimensional Euclidean space, and similarly for a generic pair of rebits, using the 9-dimensional unit ball. Separability probabilities, could, then, be directly obtained by integrating the products of these functions (which we numerically estimate and plot) with jacobian factors of r^m over r in [0,1], with m=17 for the tw…
Milz and Strunz recently reported substantial evidence to further support the previously conjectured separability probability of $\frac{8}{33}$ for two-qubit systems ($ρ$) endowed with Hilbert-Schmidt measure. Additionally, they found that along the radius ($r$) of the Bloch ball representing either of the two single-qubit subsystems, this value appeared constant (but jumping to unity at the locus of the pure states, $r=1$). Further, they also observed (personal communication) such separability probability $r$-invariance, when using, more broadly, random induced measure ($K=3,4,5,\ldots$), wit…
In this Letter we find the new criteria of separability of multipartite qubit density matrixes. Especially, we discuss in detail the criteria of separability for tripartite qubit density matrixes. We find the sufficient and necessary conditions of separability for tripartite qubit density matrixes, and give two corollaries. The second corollary can be taken as the criterion of existence of entanglement for tripartite qubit density matrixes. In concrete application, its steps are quite simple and easy to operate. Some examples, discussions and the generalization to more high dimensional multipa…
We begin by seeking the qubit-qutrit and rebit-retrit counterparts to the now well-established Hilbert-Schmidt separability probabilities for (the 15-dimensional convex set of) two-qubits of $\frac{8}{33} = \frac{2^3}{3 \cdot 11} \approx 0.242424$ and (the 9-dimensional) two-rebits of $\frac{29}{64} =\frac{29}{2^6} \approx 0.453125$. Based in part on extensive numerical computations, we advance the possibilities of a qubit-qutrit value of $\frac{27}{1000} = (\frac{3}{10})^3 =\frac{3^3}{2^3 \cdot 5^3} = 0.027$ and a rebit-retrit one of $\frac{860}{6561} =\frac{2^2 \cdot 5 \cdot 43}{3^8} \approx…
Employing the volume of quantum steering ellipsoids (QSEs) as a measure on the fifteen-dimensional convex set of two-qubit states, we estimate the ratio of the integral of the measure over the separable states to its integral over all (separable and entangled) states to be 0.0288. This can be contrasted with the considerably larger separability ratios (probabilities) of $\frac{8}{33} = \frac{2^3}{3 \cdot 11} \approx 0.242424$ and $\frac{25}{341}=\frac{5^2}{11 \cdot 31} \approx 0.0733138$ that various forms of evidence point to with the use of the prominent Hilbert-Schmidt and Bures measures, r…
Compelling evidence-though yet no formal proof-has been adduced that the probability that a generic (standard) two-qubit state ($ρ$) is separable/disentangled is $\frac{8}{33}$ (arXiv:1301.6617, arXiv:1109.2560, arXiv:0704.3723). Proceeding in related analytical frameworks, using a further determinantal $4F3$-hypergeometric moment formula (Appendix A), we reach, {\it via} density-approximation procedures, the conclusion that one-half ($\frac{4}{33}$) of this probability arises when the determinantal inequality $|ρ^{PT}|>|ρ|$, where $PT$ denotes the partial transpose, is satisfied, and, the oth…
In this paper, we discuss the partial separability and its criteria problems of multipartite qubit mixed-states. First we strictly define what is the partial separability of a multipartite qubit system. Next we give a reduction way from N-partite qubit density matrixes to bipartite qubit density matrixes, and prove a necessary condition that a N-partite qubit mixed-state to be partially separable is its reduction to satisfy the PPT condition. We give a complete, hierarchic classification for arbitrary multi-qubit mixed states based on the separability properties of certain partitions. We introduce a family of N-qubit states to which any arbitrary state can be depolarized. This family can be viewed as the generalization of Werner states to multi-qubit systems. We fully classify those states with respect to their separability and distillability properties. This provides sufficient conditions for nonseparability and distillability for arbitrary states.
We find equivalent hypergeometric- and difference-equation-based formulas, $Q(k,α)= G_1^k(α) G_2^k(α)$, for $k = -1, 0, 1,\ldots,9$, for that (rational-valued) portion of the total separability probability for generalized two-qubit states endowed with random induced measure, for which the determinantal inequality $|ρ^{PT}| >|ρ|$ holds. Here $ρ$ denotes a $4 \times 4$ density matrix and $ρ^{PT}$, its partial transpose, while $α$ is a Dyson-index-like parameter with $α= 1$ for the standard (15-dimensional) convex set of two-qubit states. The dimension of the space in which these density matrices…
We characterize the separability of three qubit GHZ diagonal states in terms of entries. This enables us to check separability of GHZ diagonal states without decomposition into the sum of pure product states. In the course of discussion, we show that the necessary criterion of Gühne for (full) separability of three qubit GHZ diagonal states is sufficient with a simpler formula. The main tool is to use entanglement witnesses which are tri-partite Choi matrices of positive bi-linear maps.
In this paper, we present a method to construct full separability criteria for tripartite systems of qubits. The spirit of our approach is that a tripartite pure state can be regarded as a three-order tensor that provides an intuitionistic mathematical formulation for the full separability of pure states. We extend the definition to mixed states and given out the corresponding full separability criterion. As applications, we discuss the separability of several bound entangled states, which shows that our criterion is feasible.
This paper characterizes two forms of separability of pure states of systems of n qubits: (i) into a tensor product of n qubit states, and (ii), into a tensor product of 2 subsystems states of p and q qubits respectively with p+q=n. For both cases, necessary and sufficient conditions are proved in the form of minimal sets of equalities among pair-wise products of amplitudes. These conditions bear some relation with entanglement measures, and a number of more refined questions about separability in n qubit systems can be studied on the basis of these results.
We construct seven kinds of three-qubit biseparable states to show that every class of biseparable states in the partial separability classification proposed by Szalay and Kökényesi [S. Szalay and Z. Kökényesi, Phys. Rev. A 86, 032341 (2012)] is nonempty.
We derive a general expression for standard tensor norm of $N$-body correlation tensors for $N$-qubit complete graph states. With the help of this expression, we formulate a separability criterion that identifies non-$k$-separability of a class of $N$-qubit complete graph states, including GHZ state. We illustrate the performance of our criterion by considering the $N$-qubit complete graph states added with colored product noise. We also demonstrate that few local measurement settings are sufficient to evaluate our criterion.
We give a separability criterion for three qubit states in terms of diagonal and anti-diagonal entries. This gives us a complete characterization of separability when all the entries are zero except for diagonal and anti-diagonals. The criterion is expressed in terms of a norm arising from anti-diagonal entries. We compute this norm in several cases, so that we get criteria with which we can decide the separability by routine computations.
We detect a certain pattern of behavior of separability probabilities $p(r_A,r_B)$ for two-qubit systems endowed with Hilbert-Schmidt, and more generally, random induced measures, where $r_A$ and $r_B$ are the Bloch radii ($0 \leq r_A,r_B \leq 1$) of the qubit reduced states ($A,B$). We observe a relative repulsion of radii effect, that is $p(r_A,r_A) < p(r_A,1-r_A)$, except for rather narrow "crossover" intervals $[\tilde{r}_A,\frac{1}{2}]$. Among the seven specific cases we study are, firstly, the "toy" seven-dimensional $X$-states model and, then, the fifteen-dimensional two-qubit states ob…
We report a concise answer--in the case of 2 x 2 systems--to the fundamental quantum-information-theoretic question as to "the volume of separable states" posed by Zyczkowski, Horodecki, Sanpera and Lewenstein (Phys. Rev. A, 58, 883 [1998]). We proceed by applying the Mathematica command FindSequenceFunction to a series of conjectured Hilbert-Schmidt generic 2 x 2 (rational-valued) separability probabilities p(a), a = 1, 2,...,32, with a = 1 indexing standard two-qubit systems, and a = 2, two-quater(nionic)bit systems. These 32 inputted values of p(a)--as well as 32 companion non-inputted valu…
Explicit separable density matrices, for mixed two qubits states, are derived by the use of Hilbert Schmidt decompositions and Peres Horodecki criterion. A strongly separable two qubits mixed state is defined by multiplications of two density matrices given with pure states while weakly separable two qubits state is defined by multiplications of two density matrices which includes non-pure states. We find the sufficient and necessary condition for separability of two-qubits density matrices and show that under this condition the two-qubit density matrices are strongly separable.
We introduce an entanglement criterion to exclude full separability of quantum states. We present numerical evidence that the criterion is necessary and sufficient for the class of GHZ diagonal three-qubit states and estimate the volume of bound entangled states within this class. Finally, we extend our approach to bound entangled states which are not GHZ diagonal.
Necessary conditions for separability are most easily expressed in the computational basis, while sufficient conditions are most conveniently expressed in the spin basis. We use the Hadamard matrix to define the relationship between these two bases and to emphasize its interpretation as a Fourier transform. We then prove a general sufficient condition for complete separability in terms of the spin coefficients and give necessary and sufficient conditions for the complete separability of a class of generalized Werner densities. As a further application of the theory, we give necessary and suffi…
We analyze the separability of the joint state of a collection of two-level systems at finite temperature T. The fact that only separable states are found in the neighborhood of their thermal equilibrium state guarantees that decoherence will destroy any initially arranged entanglement in a finite time.
We report major advances in the research program initiated in "Moment-Based Evidence for Simple Rational-Valued Hilbert-Schmidt Generic 2 x 2 Separability Probabilities" (J. Phys. A, 45, 095305 [2012]). A highly succinct separability probability function P(alpha) is put forth, yielding for generic (9-dimensional) two-rebit systems, P(1/2) = 29/64, (15-dimensional) two-qubit systems, P(1) = 8/33 and (27-dimensional) two-quater(nionic)bit systems, P(2)=26/323. This particular form of P(alpha) was obtained by Qing-Hu Hou and colleagues by applying Zeilberger's algorithm ("creative telescoping") t…
The separable mixed 2-qubit X-states are classified in accordance with degeneracies in the spectrum of density matrices. It is shown that there are four classes of separable X-states, among them: one 4D family, a pair of 2D family and a single, zero-dimensional maximally mixed state.
We begin by investigating relationships between two forms of Hilbert-Schmidt two-re[al]bit and two-qubit "separability functions"--those recently advanced by Lovas and Andai (J. Phys. A 50 [2017] 295303), and those earlier presented by Slater (J. Phys. A 40 [2007] 14279). In the Lovas-Andai framework, the independent variable $\varepsilon \in [0,1]$ is the ratio $σ(V)$ of the singular values of the $2 \times 2$ matrix $V=D_2^{1/2} D_1^{-1/2}$ formed from the two $2 \times 2$ diagonal blocks ($D_1, D_2$) of a $4 \times 4$ density matrix $D$. In the Slater setting, the independent variable $μ$ i…
We give separability criteria for general multi-qubit states in terms of diagonal and anti-diagonal entries. We define two numbers which are obtained from diagonal and anti-diagonal entries, respectively, and compare them to get criteria. They give rise to characterizations of separability when all the entries are zero except for diagonal and anti-diagonal, like Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger diagonal states. The criteria is strong enough to get nonzero volume of entanglement with positive partial transposes.
In view of the photon-number tomograms of two-mode light states, using the qubit-portrait method for studying the probability distributions with infinite outputs, the separability and entanglement detection of the states are studied. Examples of entangled Gaussian state and Schrödinger cat state are discussed.
We conduct a pair of quasirandom estimations of the separability probabilities with respect to ten measures on the 15-dimensional convex set of two-qubit states, using its Euler-angle parameterization. The measures include the (non-monotone) Hilbert-Schmidt one, plus nine others based on operator monotone functions. Our results are supportive of previous assertions that the Hilbert-Schmidt and Bures (minimal monotone) separability probabilities are $\frac{8}{33} \approx 0.242424$ and $\frac{25}{341} \approx 0.0733138$, respectively, as well as suggestive of the Wigner-Yanase counterpart being …
Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) decompositions are employed for analyzing systems of n-qubits, and a qubit with a qudit. Negative eigenvalues, obtained by partial-transpose (PT) plus local unitary transformations (PTU) for one qubit from the whole system, are used for indicating inseparability. A sufficient criterion for full separability of the n-qubits and qubit-qudit systems is given. We use the singular value decomposition (SVD) for improving the criterion for full separability. General properties of entanglement and separability are analyzed for a system of a qubit and a qudit and n-qubits systems, …
Substantial progress has recently been reported in the determination of the Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) separability probabilities for two-qubit and qubit-qutrit (real, complex and quaternionic) systems. An important theoretical concept employed has been that of a separability function. It appears that if one could analogously obtain separability functions parameterized by the eigenvalues of the density matrices in question--rather than the diagonal entries, as originally used--comparable progress could be achieved in obtaining separability probabilities based on the broad, interesting class of monot…
Separability and entanglement for n-qubits systems are quantified by using Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) decompositions in which the density matrices are decomposed into various terms representing certain one qubit, two-qubits,and larger qubits measurements. The present method is more general than previous methods for bipartite systems as it can be used for quantification of entanglement for large n-qubits systems. We demonstrate the use of such method by analyzing three qubits GHZ states, and three qubits general Bell states produced by a certain multiplications of Braid operators, operating on the com…
The question of the generation of random mixed states is discussed, aiming for the computation of probabilistic characteristics of composite finite dimensional quantum systems. Particularly, we consider the generation of the random Hilbert-Schmidt and Bures ensembles of qubit and qutrit pairs and compute the corresponding probabilities to find a separable state among the states of a fixed rank.
We employ a quasirandom methodology, recently developed by Martin Roberts, to estimate the separability probabilities, with respect to the Bures (minimal monotone/statistical distinguishability) measure, of generic two-qubit and two-rebit states. This procedure, based on generalized properties of the golden ratio, yielded, in the course of almost seventeen billion iterations (recorded at intervals of five million), two-qubit estimates repeatedly close to nine decimal places to $\frac{25}{341} =\frac{5^2}{11 \cdot 31} \approx 0.073313783$. Howeer, despite the use of over twenty-three billion it…
A conceptually simpler proof of the separability criterion for two-qubit systems, which is referred to as "Hefei inequality" in literature, is presented. This inequality gives a necessary and sufficient separability criterion for any mixed two-qubit system unlike the Bell-CHSH inequality that cannot test the mixed-states such as the Werner state when regarded as a separability criterion. The original derivation of this inequality emphasized the uncertainty relation of complementary observables, but we show that the uncertainty relation does not play any role in the actual derivation and the Pe…
The separability from spectrum problem asks for a characterization of the eigenvalues of the bipartite mixed states ρ with the property that U^*ρU is separable for all unitary matrices U. This problem has been solved when the local dimensions m and n satisfy m = 2 and n <= 3. We solve all remaining qubit-qudit cases (i.e., when m = 2 and n >= 4 is arbitrary). In all of these cases we show that a state is separable from spectrum if and only if U^*ρU has positive partial transpose for all unitary matrices U. This equivalence is in stark contrast with the usual separability problem, where a state…
We show that all $2\otimes 4$ states with strong positive partial transposes (SPPT) are separable. We also construct a family of $2\otimes 5$ entangled SPPT states, so the conjecture on the separability of SPPT states are completely settled. In addition, we clarify the relation between the set of all $2\otimes d$ separable states and the set of all $2\otimes d$ SPPT states for the case of $d=3,4$.
An important variable in the 2017 analysis of Lovas and Andai, formally establishing the Hilbert-Schmidt separability probability conjectured by Slater of $\frac{29}{64}$ for the 9-dimensional convex set of two-rebit density matrices, was the ratio ($\varepsilon =\frac{σ_2}{σ_1}$) of the two singular values ($σ_1 \geq σ_2 \geq 0$) of $D_2^{\frac{1}{2}} D_1^{-\frac{1}{2}}$. There, $D_1$ and $D_2$ were the diagonal $2 \times 2$ blocks of a $4 \times 4$ two-rebit density matrix $ρ$. Working within the Lovas-Andai "separability function" ($\tildeχ_d(\varepsilon)$) framework, Slater was able to ver…
It was shown in [Augusiak et al.,\;Phys. Rev. A \textbf{77}, 030301(R) (2008)] that discrimination between entanglement and separability in a two qubit state can be achieved by a measurement of a single observable on four copies of it. Moreover, a pseudo entanglement monotone $π$ was proposed to quantify entanglement in such states. The main goal of the present paper is to show that close relationship between $π$ and concurrence reported there is a result of sharing the same underlying construction of a spin flipped matrix. We also show that monogamy of entanglement can be rephrased in terms o…
A Multipartite entangled state has many different kinds of entanglement specified by the number of partitions. The most essential example of multipartite entanglement is the entanglement of multi-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state in white noise. We explicitly construct the entanglement witnesses for these states with stabilizer generators of the GHZ states. For a $N$ qubit GHZ state in white noise, we demonstrate the necessary and sufficient criterion of separability when it is divided into $k$ parties with $N\leq 2k-1$ for arbitrary $N$ and $k$. The criterion covers more than a ha…
Explicit separability of general two qubits density matrices is related to Lorentz transformations. We use the 4-dimensional form R(u,v=0,1,2,3) of the Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) decomposition of the density matrix. For the generic case in which Lorentz transformations diagonalize R(u,v=0,1,2,3) (into s(0),s(1),s(2),s(3)) we give relations between the R parameters and the s parameters. In particular we consider two cases: a) Two qubits density matrices with one pair of linear terms in the HS decomposition. b) Two qubits density matrices with two or three symmetric pairs of linear terms. Some of the …
We investigate the geometric characterization of pure state bipartite entanglement of $(2\times{D})$- and $(3\times{D})$-dimensional composite quantum systems. To this aim, we analyze the relationship between states and their images under the action of particular classes of local unitary operations. We find that invariance of states under the action of single-qubit and single-qutrit transformations is a necessary and sufficient condition for separability. We demonstrate that in the $(2\times{D})$-dimensional case the von Neumann entropy of entanglement is a monotonic function of the minimum sq…
To begin, we find certain formulas $Q(k,α)= G_1^k(α) G_2^k(α)$, for $k = -1, 0, 1,...,9$. These yield that part of the total separability probability, $P(k,α)$, for generalized (real, complex, quaternionic,\ldots) two-qubit states endowed with random induced measure, for which the determinantal inequality $|ρ^{PT}| >|ρ|$ holds. Here $ρ$ denotes a $4 \times 4$ density matrix, obtained by tracing over the pure states in $4 \times (4 +k)$-dimensions, and $ρ^{PT}$, its partial transpose. Further, $α$ is a Dyson-index-like parameter with $α= 1$ for the standard (15-dimensional) convex set of (compl…
We found three qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger diagonal states which tells us that the partial separability of three qubit states violates the distributive rules with respect to the two operations of convex sum and intersection. The gaps between the convex sets involving the distributive rules are of nonzero volume.
We examine the entanglement of general mixed states of a two qubit Heisenberg XYZ chain in the presence of a magnetic field, and its detection by means of different criteria. Both the exact separability conditions and the weaker conditions implied by the disorder and the von Neumann entropic criteria are analyzed. The ensuing limit temperatures for entanglement in thermal states of different XYZ models are then examined and compared with the limit temperature of the symmetry-breaking solution in a mean field type approximation. The latter, though generally lower, can also be higher than the ex…
We list in increasing order -- 1/3, 3/8, 2/5, 135 pi/1024, 16/(3 pi^2), 3 pi/16, 5/8, 105 pi/512, 2 - 435 pi/1024, 11/16, 1 -- a number of exact two-qubit Hilbert-Schmidt (HS) separability probabilities, we are able to compute. Each probability corresponds to a specific scenario -- a class of 4 x 4 density matrices (rho) with an m-subset (m<6) of its six off-diagonal pairs of symmetrically located entries set to zero. Initially, we consider only scenarios in which the (6-m) non-nullified pairs are real, but then permit them to be complex (as well as quaternionic) in nature also. The general an…
We propose a method of constructing the separability criteria for multipartite quantum states on the basis of entanglement witnesses. The entanglement witnesses are obtained by finding the maximal expectation values of Hermitian operators and then optimizing over all possible Hermitian operators. We derive a set of tripartite separability criteria for the four-qubit Greenberger--Horne--Zeilinger (GHZ) diagonal states. The derived criterion set contains four criteria that are necessary and sufficient for the tripartite separability of the highly symmetric four-qubit GHZ diagonal states; the cri…
When two qubits A and B are in an appropriate state, Alice can remotely steer Bob's system B into different ensembles by making different measurements on A. This famous phenomenon is known as quantum steering, or Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering. Importantly, quantum steering establishes the correspondence not only between a measurement on A (made by Alice) and an ensemble of B (owned by Bob) but also between each of Alice's measurement outcomes and an unnormalized conditional state of Bob's system. The unnormalized conditional states of B corresponding to all possible measurement outcomes of …
We construct a single observable measurement of which mean value on four copies of an {\it unknown} two-qubit state is sufficient for unambiguous decision whether the state is separable or entangled. In other words, there exists a universal collective entanglement witness detecting all two-qubit entanglement. The test is directly linked to a function which characterizes to some extent the entanglement quantitatively. This function is an entanglement monotone under so--called local pure operations and classical communication (pLOCC) which preserve local dimensions. Moreover it provides tight up…
We compute the probability that a bipartite quantum state is separable by Monte Carlo sampling. This is carried out for rebits, qubits and quaterbits. We sampled $5\times 10^{11}$ points for each of these three cases. The results strongly support conjectures for certain rational values of these probabilities that have been found by other methods.
