In this paper we consider the curves $H_{k,t}^{(p)} : y^{p^k}+y=x^{p^{kt}+1}$ over $\mathbb F_p$ and and find an exact formula for the number of $\mathbb F_{p^n}$-rational points on $H_{k,t}^{(p)}$ for all integers $n\ge 1$. We also give the condition when the $L$-polynomial of a Hermitian curve divides the $L$-polynomial of another over $\mathbb F_p$.
In this paper, we study configurations of three rational points on the Hermitian curve over $\mathbb{F}_{q^2}$ and classify them according to their Weierstrass semigroups. For $q>3$, we show that the number of distinct semigroups of this form is equal to the number of positive divisors of $q+1$ and give an explicit description of the Weierstrass semigroup for each triple of points studied. To do so, we make use of two-point discrepancies and derive a criterion which applies to arbitrary curves over a finite field.
New informations on the structure of the functional codes defined by forms of degree $h$ on non-degenerate Hermitian varieties in $\mathbb{P}^{n(\mathbb{F}_q)$}
A $\mathbb{C}^{*}$-action on a projective variety $X$ is said to be of Euler type at a nonsingular fixed point $x$ if the isotropy action of $\mathbb{C}^{*}$ on $T_{x}X$ is by scalar multiplication. In this paper, it's proven that a smooth projective variety of Picard number one $X$ is isomorphic to an irreducible Hermitian symmetric space of tube type if and only if for a general pair of points $x,y$ on $X$, there exists a $\mathbb{C}^{*}$-action on $X$ which is of Euler type at $x$ and its inverse action is of Euler type at $y$.
We determine the Weierstrass semigroup $H(P_\infty,P_1,\ldots,P_m)$ at several rational points on the maximal curves which cannot be covered by the Hermitian curve introduced by Tafazolian, Teherán-Herrera, and Torres. Furthermore, we present some conditions to find pure gaps. We use this semigroup to obtain AG codes with better relative parameters than comparable one-point AG codes arising from these curves.
We prove a conjecture of Voisin that no two distinct points on a very general hypersurface of degree $2n$ in ${\mathbb P}^n$ are rationally equivalent.
The complete classification of the orbits on subspaces under the action of the projective stabiliser of (classical) algebraic varieties is a challenging task, and few classifications are complete. We focus on a particular action of $\PGL(2,q^2)$ (and $\PSL(2,q^2)$) arising from the Hermitian Veronese curve in $\PG(3, q^2)$, a maximal rational curve embedded on a smooth Hermitian surface with some fascinating properties. The study of its orbits leads to a new construction of quasi-Hermitian surfaces: sets of points with the same combinatorial and geometric properties as a non-degenerate Hermiti…
Rational quartic spectrahedra in 3-space are semialgebraic convex subsets in $\mathbb{R}^3$ of semidefinite, real symmetric $(4 \times 4)$-matrices, whose boundary admits a rational parameterization. The Zariski closure in $\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^3$ of the boundary of a rational spectrahedron is a rational complex symmetroid. We give necessary conditions on the configurations of singularities of the corresponding real symmetroids in $\mathbb{R}\mathbb{P}^3$ of rational quartic spectrahedra. We provide an almost exhaustive list of examples realizing the configurations, and conjecture that the mis…
The number $N_9(5)$, the maximal number of $\mathbb{F}_9$-rational points on curves over $\mathbb{F}_9$ of genus $5$ is unknown, but it is known that $32 \le N_9(5)\le 35$. In this paper, we enumerate hyperelliptic curves and trigonal curves over $\mathbb{F}_3$ which have many $\mathbb{F}_9$-rational points (and $\mathbb{F}_3$-rational points), especially the maximal number of $\mathbb{F}_9$-rational points of those curves is $30$. Kudo-Harashita studied the nonhyperelliptic and nontrigonal case,where they found a new example of curves (over $\mathbb{F}_3$) of genus five which attains $32$ and…
Let $S$ be a rational projective surface given by means of a projective rational parametrization whose base locus satisfies a mild assumption. In this paper we present an algorithm that provides three rational maps $f,g,h:\mathbb{A}^2 --\to S\subset \mathbb{P}^n$ such that the union of the three images covers $S$. As a consequence, we present a second algorithm that generates two rational maps $f,\tilde{g}:\mathbb{A}^2 --\to S$, such that the union of their images covers the affine surface $S\cap \mathbb{A}^n$. In the affine case, the number of rational maps involved in the cover is in general…
Let $G$ be a reductive linear algebraic group over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{K}$ of characteristic $2$. Fix a parabolic subgroup $P$ such that the corresponding parabolic subgroup over $\mathbb{C}$ has abelian unipotent radical and fix a Levi subgroup $L\subseteq P$. We parametrize the orbits of a Borel $B\subseteq P$ over the Hermitian symmetric variety $G/L$ supposing the root system $Φ$ is irreducible. For $Φ$ simply laced we prove a combinatorial characterization of the Bruhat order over these orbits. We also prove a formula to compute the dimension of the orbits from combinat…
