In a recent paper the authors Beliakova, Blanchet and Gainutdinov have shown that the modified trace on the category $H$-pmod of the projective modules corresponds to the symmetrised integral on the finite dimensional pivotal Hopf algebra $H$. We generalize this fact to the context of $G$-graded categories and Hopf $G$-coalgebra studied by Turaev-Virelizier. We show that the symmetrised $G$-integral on a finite type pivotal Hopf $G$-coalgebra induces a modified trace in the associated $G$-graded category.
We study algebraic properties of Hopf group-coalgebras, recently introduced by Turaev. We show the existence of integrals and traces for such coalgebras, and we generalize the main properties of quasitriangular and ribbon Hopf algebras to the setting of Hopf group-coalgebras.
In this work we study the induction theory for Hopf group coalgebra. To reach this goal we define a substructure B of a Hopf group coalgebra $H$, called subHopf group coalgebra. Also, we introduced the definition of Hopf group suboalgebra and group coisotropic quantum subgroup of $H$.
We provide an analog of the Drinfeld quantum double construction in the context of crossed Hopf group coalgebras introduced by Turaev. We prove that, provided the base group is finite, the double of a semisimple crossed Hopf group coalgebra is both modular and unimodular.
A new quantization of groupoids under the name of \times-Hopf coalgebras is introduced. We develop a Hopf cyclic theory with coefficients in stable-anti-Yetter-Drinfeld modules for \times-Hopf coalgebras. We use \times-Hopf coalgebras to study coextensions of coalgebras. Finally, equivariant \times-Hopf coalgebra Galois coextensions are defined and applied as functors between categories of stable anti-Yetter-Drinfeld modules over \times-Hopf coalgebras involved in the coextension.
We provide an analog of Tannaka Theory for Hopf algebras in the context of crossed Hopf group coalgebras introduced by Turaev. Following Street and our previous work on the quantum double of crossed structures, we give a construction, via Tannaka Theory, of the quantum double of crossed Hopf group algebras (not necessarily of finite type).
In this paper, we give several necessary conditions for non-cosemisimple coalgebras being admissible. The implications simplify the classification problems for Hopf algebras of dimension 45, 105 and a few others.
The Multiplier Hopf Group Coalgebra was introduced by Hegazi in 2002 [7] as a generalization of Hope group caolgebra, introduced by Turaev in 2000 [5], in the non-unital case. We prove that the concepts introduced by A.Van Daele in constructing multiplier Hopf algebra \cite{4} can be adapted to serve again in our construction. A multiplier Hopf group coalgebra is a family of algebras $A=\{A_α\}_{α\in π}$, ($π$ is a discrete group) equipped with a family of homomorphisms $Δ=\{Δ_{α,β}:A_{αβ}\longrightarrow M(A_α\otimes A_β)\}_{α,β\in π}$ which is called a comultiplication under some conditions, …
We show that Turaev's group-coalgebras and Hopf group-coalgebras are coalgebras and Hopf algebras in a symmetric monoidal category, which we call the Turaev category. A similar result holds for group-algebras and Hopf group-algebras. As an application, we give an alternative approach to Virelizier's version of the Fundamental Theorem for Hopf algebras. We introduce Yetter-Drinfeld modules over Hopf group-coalgebras using the center construction.
This notes gives a proof that a connected coaugmented cofiltered coalgebra is a conilpotent coalgebra and thus a connected coaugmented cofiltered bialgebra is a Hopf algebra. This applies in particular to a connected coaugmented cograded coalgebra and a connected coaugmented cograded bialgebra.
In this work we study the induction (induced and coinduced)theory for Hopf group coalgebra. We define a substructure B of a Hopf group coalgebra $H$, called subHopf group coalgebra. Also, we have introduced the definition of Hopf group suboalgebra and group coisotropic quantum subgroup of $H$. The properties of the algebraic structure of the induced and coinduced are given. Moreover, a framework of the geometric interperation and simplicity theory of such representation strructure are stuided.
We give the explicit construction of the product of an arbitrary family of coalgebras, bialgebras and Hopf algebras: it turns out that the product of an arbitrary family of coalgebras (resp. bialgebras, Hopf algebras) is the sum of a family of coalgebras (resp. bialgebras, Hopf algebras). The equalizers of two morphisms of coalgebras (resp. bialgebras, Hopf algebras) are also described explicitly. As a consequence the categories of coalgebras, bialgebras and Hopf algebras are shown to be complete and a explicit description for limits in the above categories is given.
The aim of this paper is to generalize the concept of Lie-admissible coalgebra introduced by Goze and Remm to Hom-coalgebras and to introduce Hom-Hopf algebras with some properties. These structures are based on the Hom-algebra structures introduced by the authors.
In this paper we construct the Differential calculus on the Hopf Group Coalgebra introduced by Turaev [10]. We proved that the concepts introduced by S.L.Woronowicz in constructing Differential calculus on Hopf Compact Matrix Pseudogroups (Quantum Groups)[7] can be adapted to serve again in our construction.
In this work the notions of partial action of a weak Hopf algebra on a coalgebra and partial action of a groupoid on a coalgebra will be introduced, just as some important properties. An equivalence between these notions will be presented. Finally, a dual relation between the structures of partial action on a coalgebra and partial action on an algebra will be established, as well as a globalization theorem for partial module coalgebras will be presented.
Given a group G, we use involutary Hopf G-coalgebras to define a scalar invariant of flat G-bundles over 3-manifolds. When G=1, this invariant equals to the one of 3-manifolds constructed by Kuperberg from involutary Hopf algebras. We give examples which show that this invariant is not trivial.
In this article -that has also the intention to survey some known results in the theory of compact quantum groups using methods different from the standard and with a strong algebraic flavor- we consider compact o-coalgebras and Hopf algebras. In the case of a o-Hopf algebra we present a proof of the characterization of the compactness in terms of the existence of a positive definite integral, and use our methods to give an elementary proof of the uniqueness - up to conjugation by an automorphism of Hopf algebras- of the compact involution appearing in [4]. We study the basic properties of the…
We construct the analogue of Takeuchi's free Hopf algebra in the setting of Poisson Hopf algebras. More precisely, we prove that there exists a free Poisson Hopf algebra on any coalgebra or, equivalently that the forgetful functor from the category of Poisson Hopf algebras to the category of coalgebras has a left adjoint. In particular, we also prove that the category of Poisson Hopf algebras is a reflective subcategory of the category of Poisson bialgebras. Along the way, we describe coproducts and coequalizers in the category of Poisson Hopf algebras, therefore showing that the latter catego…
Starting from a Hopf algebra endowed with an action of a group G by Hopf automorphisms, we construct (by a twisted double method) a quasitriangular Hopf G-coalgebra. This method allows us to obtain non-trivial examples of quasitriangular Hopf G-coalgebras for any finite group G and for infinite groups G such as GL(n,K). In particular, we define the graded quantum groups.
The incidence algebra of a partially ordered set (poset) supports in a natural way also a coalgebra structure, so that it becomes a m-weak bialgebra even a m-weak Hopf algebra with Möbius function as antipode. Here m-weak means that multiplication and comultiplication are not required to be coalgebra- or algebra-morphisms, respectively. A rich theory is obtained in computing modulo an equivalence relation on the set of intervals in the poset.
Let $A$ and $B$ be algebras and coalgebras in a braided monoidal category $\Cc$, and suppose that we have a cross product algebra and a cross coproduct coalgebra structure on $A\ot B$. We present necessary and sufficient conditions for $A\ot B$ to be a bialgebra, and sufficient conditions for $A\ot B$ to be a Hopf algebra. We discuss when such a cross product Hopf algebra is a double cross (co)product, a biproduct, or, more generally, a smash (co)product Hopf algebra. In each of these cases, we provide an explicit description of the associated Hopf algebra projection.
This paper is concerned with the theory of cup-products in Hopf-type cyclic cohomology of algebras and coalgebras. Here we give detailed proofs of the statements, announced in our previous paper. We show that the cyclic cohomology of a coalgebra can be obtained from a construction involving noncommutative Weil algebra. Then we use a generalization of Quillen and Crainic's construction to define the cup-product. We discuss the relation of the introduced cup-product and $S$-operations on cyclic cohomology. After this we describe the relation of this type of product and bivariant cyclic cohomolog…
For a given Hopf algebra $A$ we classify all Hopf algebras $E$ that are coalgebra split extensions of $A$ by $H_4$, where $H_4$ is the Sweedler's 4-dimensional Hopf algebra. Equivalently, we classify all crossed products of Hopf algebras $A # H_4$ by computing explicitly two classifying objects: the cohomological 'group' ${\mathcal H}^{2} (H_4, A)$ and $\textsc{C}\textsc{r}\textsc{p} (H_4, A) :=$ the set of types of isomorphisms of all crossed products $A # H_4$. All crossed products $A #H_4$ are described by generators and relations and classified: they are parameterized by the set ${\mathcal…
Let H be a finite-dimensional pivotal and unimodular Hopf algebra over a field k. It was shown in [BBGa] that the projective tensor ideal in H-mod admits a unique non-degenerate modified trace, a natural generalisation of the categorical trace. This paper provides an extension of this result to a much more general setting. We first extend the notion of the modified trace to the so-called module trace for a given k-linear module category M over a pivotal category C equipped with a module endofunctor. We provide a non-trivial class of examples of such module traces. In particular, we show that a…
Let $H$ be a Hopf algebra over a field $K$ of characteristic $0$ and let $A$ be a bialgebra or Hopf algebra such that $H$ is isomorphic to a sub-Hopf algebra of $A$ and there is an $H$-bilinear coalgebra projection $π$ from $A$ to $H$ which splits the inclusion. Then $A \cong R \#_ξH$ where $R$ is the pre-bialgebra of coinvariants. In this paper we study the deformations of $A$ by an $H$-bilinear cocycle. If $γ$ is a cocycle for $A$, then $γ$ can be restricted to a cocycle $γ_R$ for $R$, and $A^γ\cong R^{γ_R} \#_{ξ_γ} H$. As examples, we consider liftings of $\mathcal{B}(V) \# K[Γ]$ where $Γ$ …
We generalize the results on existence and uniqueness of integrals from compact groups and Hopf algebras in a pure (co)algebraic setting, and find a series of new results on (quasi)-co-Frobenius and semiperfect coalgebras. For a coalgebra $C$, we introduce the generalized space of integrals $\int_M=\Hom^C(C,M)$ associated to a right $C$-comodule $M$ and study connections between "uniqueness of integrals" $\dim(\int_M)\leq \dim(M)$ and "existence of integrals" $\dim(\int_M)\geq \dim(M)$ for all $M$ and representation theoretic properties of $C$: (quasi)-co-Frobenius, semiperfect. We show that a…
In this paper we establish a duality between etale Lie groupoids and a class of non-necessarily commutative algebras with a Hopf algebroid structure. For any etale Lie groupoid G over a manifold M, the groupoid algebra C_c(G) of smooth functions with compact support on G has a natural coalgebra structure over C_c(M) which makes it into a Hopf algebroid. Conversely, for any Hopf algebroid A over C_c(M) we construct the associated spectral etale Lie groupoid G_sp(A) over M such that G_sp(C_c(G)) is naturally isomorphic to G. Both these constructions are functorial, and C_c is fully faithful left…
We introduce the notion of a partial corepresentation of a given Hopf algebra $H$ over a coalgebra $C$ and the closely related concept of a partial $H$-comodule. We prove that there exists a universal coalgebra $H^{par}$, associated to the original Hopf algebra $H$, such that the category of regular partial $H$-comodules is isomorphic to the category of $H^{par}$-comodules. We introduce the notion of a Hopf coalgebroid and show that the universal coalgebra $H^{par}$ has the structure of a Hopf coalgebroid over a suitable coalgebra.
Let $G$ be a group and assume that $(A_p)_{p\in G}$ is a family of algebras with identity. We have a {\it Hopf $G$-coalgebra} (in the sense of Turaev) if, for each pair $p,q\in G$, there is given a unital homomorphism $\co_{p,q}:A_{pq}\to A_p \ot A_q$ satisfying certain properties. Consider now the direct sum $A$ of these algebras. It is an algebra, without identity, except when $G$ is a finite group, but the product is non-degenerate. The maps $\co_{p,q}$ can be used to define a coproduct $\co$ on $A$ and the conditions imposed on these maps give that $(A,\co)$ is a multiplier Hopf algebra. I…
We give a natural monomorphism from the necklace Lie coalgebra, defined for any quiver, to Connes and Kreimer's Lie coalgebra of trees, and extend this to a map from a certain quiver-theoretic Hopf algebra to Connes and Kreimer's renormalization Hopf algebra, as well as to pre-Lie versions. These results are direct analogues of Turaev's results in 2004, by replacing algebras of loops on surfaces with algebras of paths on quivers. We also factor the morphism through an algebra of chord diagrams and explain the geometric version. We then explain how all of the Hopf algebras are uniquely determin…
We classify graded Hopf algebras structures over path coalgebras, that is over free pointed coalgebras, using Hopf quivers which are analogous to Cayley graphs. The description involves formulas for the product besides the canonical formulas for the coproduct. This makes explicit the quantum shuffle product making use of natural elements in a Hopf bimodule having a simple "geometrical" interpretation in the quiver sense, rather than working systematically with right or left coinvariants.
We give a systematic construction of Hopf algebra structures on braided cofree coalgebras. The relevant underlying structures are braided algebras and braided coalgebras. We provide some interesting examples of these algebras and coalgebras related to quantum groups. We introduce quantum multi-brace algebras which are generalizations of both braided algebras and $\textbf{B}_\infty$-algebras, as the natural framework. This new subject enables one to quantize some important algebra structures in a uniform way. Particular interesting examples are quantum quasi-shuffle algebras.
We prove a number of results concerning monomorphisms, epimorphisms, dominions and codominions in categories of coalgebras. Examples include: (a) representation-theoretic characterizations of monomorphisms in all of these categories that when the Hopf algebras in question are commutative specialize back to the familiar necessary and sufficient conditions (due to Bien-Borel) that a linear algebraic subgroup be epimorphically embedded; (b) the fact that a morphism in the category of (cocommutative) coalgebras, (cocommutative) bialgebras, and a host of categories of Hopf algebras has the same cod…
For $G$ a commutative group, we give a purely Hopf $G$-coalgebra construction of $G$-colored $3$-manifolds invariants using the notion of modified integral.
We introduce the concept of a covering of a graded pointed Hopf algebra. The theory developed shows that coverings of a bosonized Nichols algebra can be concretely expressed by biproducts using a quotient of the universal coalgebra covering group of the Nichols algebra. If there are enough quadratic relations, the universal coalgebra covering is given by the bosonization by the enveloping group of the underlying rack.
Coalgebra-Galois extensions generalise Hopf-Galois extensions, which can be viewed as non-commutative torsors. In this paper it is analysed when a coalgebra-Galois extension is a separable, split, or strongly separable extension.
We investigate a Hopf algebra structure on the cotensor coalgebra associated to a Hopf bimodule algebra which contains universal version of Clifford algebras and quantum groups as examples. It is shown to be the bosonization of the quantum quasi-shuffle algebra built on the space of its right coinvariants. The universal property and a Rota-Baxter algebra structure are established on this new algebra.
For a quasi-Hopf algebra $H$, a left $H$-comodule algebra $\mf{B}$ and a right $H$-module coalgebra $C$ we will characterize the category of Doi-Hopf modules ${}^C{\cal M}(H)_{\mf{B}}$ in terms of modules. We will also show that for an $H$-bicomodule algebra $\mb{A}$ and an $H$-bimodule coalgebra $C$ the category of generalized Yetter-Drinfeld modules ${}_{\mb{A}}{\cal YD}(H)^C$ is isomorphic to a certain category of Doi-Hopf modules. Using this isomorphism we will transport the properties from the category of Doi-Hopf modules to the category of generalized Yetter-Drinfeld modules.
"Co-Frobenius" coalgebras were introduced as dualizations of Frobenius algebras. Recently, it was shown in \cite{I} that they admit left-right symmetric characterizations analogue to those of Frobenius algebras: a coalgebra $C$ is co-Frobenius if and only if it is isomorphic to its rational dual. We consider the more general quasi-co-Frobenius (QcF) coalgebras; in the first main result we show that these also admit symmetric characterizations: a coalgebra is QcF if it is weakly isomorphic to its (left, or equivalently right) rational dual $Rat(C^*)$, in the sense that certain coproduct or prod…
We study algebraic and homological properties of two classes of infinite dimensional Hopf algebras over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic zero. The first class consists of those Hopf k-algebras that are connected graded as algebras, and the second class are those Hopf k-algebras that are connected as coalgebras. For many but not all of the results presented here, the Hopf algebras are assumed to have finite Gel'fand-Kirillov dimension. It is shown that if the Hopf algebra H is a connected graded algebra of finite Gel'fand-Kirillov dimension n, then H is a noetherian domain whic…
We construct from coassociative coalgebras, bialgebras, Hopf algebras, new objects such as Poisson algebras, Leibniz algebras defined by J-L Loday and M. Ronco and explore the notion of coassociative manifolds.
The unified product was defined in \cite{am3} related to the restricted extending structure problem for Hopf algebras: a Hopf algebra $E$ factorizes through a Hopf subalgebra $A$ and a subcoalgebra $H$ such that $1\in H$ if and only if $E$ is isomorphic to a unified product $A \ltimes H$. Using the concept of normality of a morphism of coalgebras in the sense of Andruskiewitsch and Devoto we prove an equivalent description for the unified product from the point of view of split morphisms of Hopf algebras. A Hopf algebra $E$ is isomorphic to a unified product $A \ltimes H$ if and only if there …
In this paper, we study finite dimensional non-cosemisimple Hopf algebras through its underlying coalgebra. We decompose such a Hopf algebra as a direct sum of `blocks'. Blocks are closely related to each other by `rules' and form the `block system'. Through the block system, we are able to give a lower bound for $\dim H$, where $H$ is a non-cosemisimple Hopf algebras with no nontrivial skew-primitives, and a series of results about non-cosemisimple Hopf algebras of dimension $12p, 15p, 16p, 20p\ \text{and}\ 21p$ with $p$ being a prime number.
Let A be a Hopf algebra and H a coalgebra. We shall describe and classify up to an isomorphism all Hopf algebras E that factorize through A and H: that is E is a Hopf algebra such that A is a Hopf subalgebra of E, H is a subcoalgebra in E with 1_{E} \in H and the multiplication map $A\otimes H \to E$ is bijective. The tool we use is a new product, we call it the unified product, in the construction of which A and H are connected by three coalgebra maps: two actions and a generalized cocycle. Both the crossed product of an Hopf algebra acting on an algebra and the bicrossed product of two Hopf …
For $A$ a Hopf algebra of arbitrary dimension over a field $K$, it is well-known that if $A$ has nonzero integrals, or, in other words, if the coalgebra $A$ is co-Frobenius, then the space of integrals is one-dimensional and the antipode of $A$ is bijective. Bulacu and Caenepeel recently showed that if $H$ is a dual quasi-Hopf algebra with nonzero integrals, then the space of integrals is one-dimensional, and the antipode is injective. In this short note we show that the antipode is bijective.
Given an abelian k-linear rigid monoidal category V, where k is a perfect field, we define squared coalgebras as objects of cocompleted V tensor V (Deligne's tensor product of categories) equipped with the appropriate notion of comultiplication. Based on this, (squared) bialgebras and Hopf algebras are defined without use of braiding. If V is the category of k-vector spaces, squared (co)algebras coincide with conventional ones. If V is braided, a braided Hopf algebra can be obtained from a squared one. Reconstruction theorems give equivalence of squared co- (bi-, Hopf) algebras in V and corres…
Let $\k$ be a field and $Q$ a minimal Hopf quiver, i.e., a cyclic quiver or the infinite linear quiver, and let $\rep^{ln}(Q)$ denote the category of locally nilpotent finite dimensional $\k$-representations of $Q.$ The category $\rep^{ln}(Q)$ has natural tensor structures induced from graded Hopf structures on the path coalgebra $\k Q.$ Tensor categories of the form $\rep^{ln} (Q)$ are an interesting class of tame hereditary pointed tensor categories which are not finite. The aim of this paper is to compute the Clebsch-Gordan formulae and Green rings of such tensor categories.
A cotensor product A\Box_H P of an H-Hopf Galois extension A and a C-coalgebra Galois extension P, such that P is an (H,C)-bicomodule, is analyzed. Conditions are stated, when A\Box_H P is a C-coalgebra Galois extension and when there exists a strong connection on A\Box_H P. Two examples are given, in both, A and P are Matsumoto spheres, and H=C=C(U(1)).
A Hopf algebra object in Loday and Pirashvili's category of linear maps entails an ordinary Hopf algebra and a Yetter-Drinfel'd module. We equip the latter with a structure of a braided Leibniz algebra. This provides a unified framework for examples of racks in the category of coalgebras discussed recently by Carter, Crans, Elhamdadi and Saito.
An object $P$ in a monoidal category $\mathcal{C}$ is called pivotal if its left dual and right dual objects are isomorphic. Given such an object and a choice of dual $Q$, we construct the category $\mathcal{C}(P,Q)$, of objects which intertwine with $P$ and $Q$ in a compatible manner. We show that this category lifts the monoidal structure of $\mathcal{C}$ and the closed structure of $\mathcal{C}$, when $\mathcal{C}$ is closed. If $\mathcal{C}$ has suitable colimits we show that $\mathcal{C}(P,Q)$ is monadic and thereby construct a family of Hopf monads on arbitrary closed monoidal categories…
Braided Morita invariants of finite-dimensional semisimple and cosemisimple Hopf algebras with braidings are constructed by refining the polynomial invariants introduced by the author. The invariants are computed for the duals of Suzuki's braided Hopf algebras, and as an application of that, the braided Morita equivalence classes over the $8$-dimensional Kac-Paljutkin algebra are determined. This paper also includes the modified results and proofs on determination of the coribbon elements of Suzuki's braided Hopf algebras, that are discussed and given in my previous paper "The coribbon structu…
Masuoka proved (2009) that a finite-dimensional irreducible Hopf algebra $H$ in positive characteristic is semisimple if and only if it is commutative semisimple if and only if the Hopf subalgebra generated by all primitives is semisimple. In this paper, we give another proof of this result by using Hochschild cohomology of coalgebras.
Let $(C,A,φ)$ be an entwining structure over $k$. In this paper, we introduce the notions of the pivotal entwined datums and ribbon entwined datums to generalize (co)pivotal Hopf algebras and (co)ribbon Hopf algebras. These notions give necessary and sufficient conditions for the category of entwined modules to be a pivotal category and ribbon category.
Hopf algebroids are generalization of Hopf algebras over non-commutative base rings. It consists of a left- and a right-bialgebroid structure related by a map called the antipode. However, if the base ring of a Hopf algebroid is commutative one does not necessarily have a Hopf algebra. Meanwhile, a Hopf category is the categorification of a Hopf algebra. It consists of a category enriched over a braided monoidal category such that every hom-set carries a coalgebra structure together with an antipode functor. In this article, we will introduce the notion of a topological Hopf category$-$ a smal…
A weakly equivariant Hopf algebra is a Hopf algebra A with an action of a finite group G up to inner automorphisms. We show that each weakly equivariant Hopf algebra can be replaced by a Morita equivalent algebra B with a strict action of G and with a coalgebra structure that leads to a tensor equivalent representation category. However, the coproduct of this strictification cannot, in general, be chosen to be unital, so that a strictification of the G-action can only be found on a weak Hopf algebra B.
We introduce Nakayama functors for coalgebras and investigate their basic properties. These functors are expressed by certain (co)ends as in the finite case discussed by Fuchs, Schaumann, and Schweigert. This observation allows us to define Nakayama functors for Frobenius tensor categories in an intrinsic way. As applications, we establish the categorical Radford $S^4$-formula for Frobenius tensor categories and obtain some related results. These are generalizations of works of Etingof, Nikshych, and Ostrik on finite tensor categories and some known facts on co-Frobenius Hopf algebras.
Entwined modules arose from the coalgebra-Galois theory. They are a generalisation of unified Doi-Hopf modules. In this paper, Frobenius properties and Maschke-type theorems, known for Doi-Hopf modules are extended to the case of entwined modules.
