We construct an effective commutative Schrödinger equation in Moyal space-time in $(1+1)$-dimension where both $t$ and $x$ are operator-valued and satisfy $\left[ \hat{t}, \hat{x} \right] = i θ$. Beginning with a time-reparametrised form of an action we identify the actions of various space-time coordinates and their conjugate momenta on quantum states, represented by Hilbert-Schmidt operators. Since time is also regarded as a configuration space variable, we show how an `induced' inner product can be extracted, so that an appropriate quantum mechanical interpretation is obtained. We then discuss several other applications of the formalism developed so far.
We establish a lower bound on the quantum coherence of an arbitrary quantum state in arbitrary dimension, using a noncommutativity estimator of an arbitrary observable of sub-unit norm, where the estimator is the commutator of the observable and its incoherent or classical part. The relation provides a direct method of obtaining an estimate of the quantum coherence of an arbitrary quantum state, without resorting to quantum state tomography or the existing witness operators.
At this paper, it is considered to find a way for defining non-commutative spaces by ordinary commutative ones and vice versa. A novel parameter which has not been considered so far is represented. This parameter describes equivalent spaces. Also, we searched concepts of these new parameters with one problem. Noncommutativity in total space is important here because it could explain more concepts. As we knew SW method (Seiberg-Witten) explained noncommutativity so here, we showed that it was not suitable for some conditions.in the end we considered Hamiltonian of free particle in new noncommut…
It has been argued that the existence of time crystals requires a spontaneous breakdown of the continuous time translation symmetry so to account for the unexpected non-stationary behavior of quantum observables in the ground state. Our point is that such effects do emerge from position ($\hat{q}_i$) and/or momentum ($\hat{p}_i$) noncommutativity, i.e., from $[\hat{q}_i,\,\hat{q}_j]\neq 0$ and/or $[\hat{p}_i,\,\hat{p}_j]\neq 0$ (for $i\neq j$). In such a context, a predictive analysis is carried out for the $2$-dim noncommutative quantum harmonic oscillator through a procedure supported by the…
One examines putative corrections to the Bell operator due to the noncommutativity in the phase-space. Starting from a Gaussian squeezed envelop whose time evolution is driven by commutative (standard quantum mechanics) and noncommutative dynamics respectively, one concludes that, although the time evolving covariance matrix in the noncommutative case is different from the standard case, the squeezing parameter dominates and there are no noticeable noncommutative corrections to the Bell operator. This indicates that, at least for squeezed states, the privileged states to test Bell correlations…
We argue that two distinct probes of quantum chaos, i.e., the growth of noncommutativity of two unequal-time operators and the degree of irreversibility in a time-reversal test, are equivalent for initially localized states. We confirm this for interacting nonintegrable many-body systems and a quantum kicked rotor. Our results show that three-point out-of-time-ordered correlators dominate the growth of the squared commutator for initially localized states, in stark contrast to four-point out-of-time-ordered correlators that have extensively been studied for thermal initial states.
A minimum length scale of the order of Planck length is a feature of many models of quantum gravity that seek to unify quantum mechanics and gravitation. Recently, Perivolaropoulos in his seminal work [Phys. Rev.D 95, 103523 (2017)] predicted the simultaneous existence of minimal and maximal length measurements of quantum gravity. More recently, we have shown that both measurable lengths can be obtained from position-dependent noncommutativity [J. Phys. A: Math.Theor. 53, 115303 (2020)]. In this paper, we present an alternative derivation of these lengths from non-Hermitian position-dependent …
In this work, we investigate the heat flow of two interacting quantum systems on the perspective of noncommutativity phase-space effects and show that by controlling the new constants introduced in the quantum theory, due to a deformed Heisenberg-Weyl algebra, the heat flow from the hot to the cold system may be enhanced, thus decreasing the time required to reach thermal equilibrium. We also give a brief discussion on the robustness of the second law of thermodynamics in the context of noncommutative quantum mechanics
A general formulation of discrete-time quantum mechanics, restrictions on the action and the relation of unitarity to the existence theorem for initial-value problems
We consider a quantum space with rotationally invariant noncommutative algebra of coordinates and momenta. The algebra contains tensors of noncommutativity constructed involving additional coordinates and momenta. In the rotationally invariant noncommutative phase space harmonic oscillator chain is studied. We obtain that noncommutativity affects on the frequencies of the system. In the case of a chain of particles with harmonic oscillator interaction we conclude that because of momentum noncommutativity the spectrum of the center-of-mass of the system is discrete and corresponds to the spectr…
Fring and al in their paper entitled "Strings from position-dependent noncommutativity" have introduced a new set of noncommutative space commutation relations in two space dimensions. It had been shown that any fundamental objects introduced in this space-space non-commutativity are string-like. Taking this result into account, we generalize the seminal work of Fring and al to the case that there is also a maximal length from position-dependent noncommutativity and minimal momentum arising from generalized versions of Heisenberg's uncertainty relations. The existence of maximal length is rela…
In this study, we investigate the effects of noncommutative Quantum Mechanics in three dimensions on the energy levels of a charged isotropic harmonic oscillator in the presence of a uniform magnetic field in the z-direction. The extension of this problem to three dimensions proves to be non-trivial. We obtain the first-order corrections to the energy-levels in closed form in the low energy limit of weak noncommutativity. The most important result we can note is that all energy corrections due to noncommutativity are negative and their magnitude increase with increasing Quantum numbers and mag…
Classical and quantum measurement theories are usually held to be different because the algebra of classical measurements is commutative, however the Poisson bracket allows noncommutativity to be added naturally. After we introduce noncommutativity into classical measurement theory, we can also add quantum noise, differentiated from thermal noise by Poincaré invariance. With these two changes, the extended classical and quantum measurement theories are equally capable, so we may speak of a single "measurement theory". The reconciliation of general relativity and quantum theory has been long de…
We consider a quantum probe $P$ undergoing pure dephasing due to its interaction with a quantum system $S$. The dynamics of $P$ is then described by a well-defined sub-algebra of operators of $S,$ i.e. the "accessible" algebra on $S$ from the point of view of $P.$ We consider sequences of $n$ measurements on $P,$ and investigate the relationship between Kolmogorov consistency of probabilities of obtaining sequences of results with various $n,$ and commutativity of the accessible algebra. For a finite-dimensional $S$ we find conditions under which the Kolmogorov consistency of measurement on $P…
Quantum entanglement, induced by spatial noncommutativity, is investigated for an anisotropic harmonic oscillator. Exact solutions for the system are obtained after the model is re-expressed in terms of canonical variables, by performing a particular Bopp's shift to the noncommuting degrees of freedom. Employing Simon's separability criterion, we find that the states of the system are entangled provided a unique function of the (mass and frequency) parameters obeys an inequality. Entanglement of Formation for this system is also computed and its relation to the degree of anisotropy is discusse…
The quantum dynamics of nonrelativistic single particle systems involving noncommutative coordinates, usually referred to as noncommutative quantum mechanics, has lately been the object of several investigations. In this note we pursue these studies for the case of multi-particle systems. We use as a prototype the degenerate electron gas whose dynamics is well known in the commutative limit. Our central aim here is to understand qualitatively, rather than quantitatively, the main modifications induced by the presence of noncommutative coordinates. We shall first see that the noncommutativity m…
We show that quantum properties of spacetime, encoded by noncommutativity at the Planck scale, lead to a generalized time evolution of quantum systems in which pure states can evolve into mixed states. Specifically, a decoherence mechanism is obtained in the form of a Lindblad-like time evolution for the density operator when the action of time translations generator is deformed by the effects of spacetime noncommutativity. The decoherence time for the evolution of a free particle is used to show that the Planck mass is the maximum allowed mass for elementary quantum systems.
Quantum effects on a pair of Bateman oscillators embedded in an ambient noncommutative space (Moyal plane) is analyzed using both path integral and canonical quantization schemes within the framework of Hilbert-Schmidt operator formulation. We adopt a method which is distinct from the one which employs 't Hooft's scheme of quantization, carried out earlier in the literature where the ambient space was taken to be commutative. Our quantization shows that we end up finally again with a Bateman system except that the damping factor undergoes renormalization. The corresponding expression shows tha…
Appearance of adiabatic geometric phase shift in the context of noncommutative quantum mechanics is studied using an exactly solvable model of 2D simple harmonic oscilator in Moyal plane, where momentum non-commutativity are also considered along with spatial noncommutativity. After finding a suitable Bopp shift, that bridges the noncommutative phase space operators with their effective commutative counterparts, having their dependence on the non-commutative parameters, we study the adiabatic evolution in the Heisenberg picture. An explicit expression for the geometric phase shift under adiaba…

We investigate gravitational radiation in dynamical noncommutative spaces. By including corrections to the gravitational potential due to dynamical noncommutativity, we calculate the power in gravitational radiation and use observational data to place an upper bound on the noncommutativity parameter. We also study quantum interference induced by gravitational potential in the usual and dynamical noncommutative spaces, and compare the resulting phase difference in these cases with that in commutative space.
The CBH theorem characterises quantum theory within a C*-algebraic framework. Namely, mathematical properties of C*-algebras modelling quantum systems are equivalent to constraints that are information-theoretic in nature: (1) noncommutativity of subalgebras is equivalent to impossibility of signalling; (2) noncommutativity of the whole algebra is equivalent to impossibility of broadcasting; (3) the existence of entangled states is implied by the impossibility of secure bit commitment (with the converse conjectured). However, the C*-algebraic framework has drawn criticism as it already contain…
