Our purpose in this present paper is to investigate generalized integration formulas containing the generalized $k$-Bessel function $W_{v,c}^{k}(z)$ to obtain the results in representation of Wright-type function. Also, we establish certain special cases of our main result.
Two integral operator involving the Appell's functions, or Horn's function in the kernel are considered. Composition of such functions with generalized Bessel functions of the first kind are expressed in term of generalized Wright function and generalized hypergeometric series. Many special cases, including cosine and sine function are also discussed.
We obtain integral representations of the $n$-th derivatives of the Bessel functions with respect to the order. The numerical evaluation of these expressions is very efficient using a double exponential integration strategy. Also, from the integral representation corresponding to the Macdonald function, we have calculated a new integral. Finally, we calculate integral expressions for the fractional derivatives of the Bessel functions with respect to the order. Simple proofs for some particular cases given in the literature are provided as well.
In this present paper our aim is to deal with two integral transforms which involving the Gauss hypergeometric function as its kernels. We prove some compositions formulas for such a generalized fractional integrals with k Bessel function. The results are established in terms of generalized Wright type hypergeometric function and generalized hypergeometric series. Also, the authors presented some corresponding assertions for Riemann Liouville and Erdelyi Kober fractional integral transforms.
In this article, we extend the integration by parts formulae for the laws of Bessel bridges obtained in previous work with Zambotti, by showing that these formulae hold for very general test functionals on $L^{2}(0,1)$. A key step consists in establishing new Taylor estimates on the laws of pinned Bessel bridges.
The generalized operators of fractional integration involving Appell's function $F_{3}(.) $ due to Marichev-Saigo-Maeda, is applied to the Bessel Struve kernel function $S_{α}\left( λz\right),λ,z\in \mathbb{C}$ to obtain the results in terms of generalized Wright functions. The pathway integral representations Bessel Struve kernel function and its relation between many other functions also derived in this study.
We show a connection formula of the Hahn-Exton $q$-Bessel function around the origin and the infinity. We introduce the $q$-Borel transformation and the $q$-Laplace transformation following C. Zhang to obtain the connection formula. We consider the limit $p\to 1^-$ of the connection formula.
We derive formulas for the derivatives of general order for the functions $z^{-ν}h_ν(z)$ and $z^νh_ν(z)$, where $h_ν(z)$ is a Bessel, Struve or Anger--Weber function.
Generalized integral formulas involving the generalized modified k-Bessel function $J_{k,ν}^{c,γ,λ}\left( z\right) $ of first kind are expressed in terms generalized $k-$Wright functions. Some interesting special cases of the main results are also discussed
We prove a single sum formula for the linearization coefficients of the Bessel polynomials. In two special cases we show that our formula reduces indeed to Berg and Vignat's formulas in their proof of the positivity results about these coefficients (Constructive Approximation, 27(2008), 15-32). As a bonus we also obtain a generalization of an integral formula of Boros and Moll (J. Comput. Appl. Math. 106 (1999), 361-368).
In this paper, a single sum formula for the linearization coefficients of the Bessel polynomials is given. In three special cases this formula reduces indeed to either Atia and Zeng's formula (Ramanujan Journal, Doi 10.1007/s11139-011-9348-4) or Berg and Vignat's formulas in their proof of the positivity results about these coefficients (Constructive Approximation, {\bf 27} (2008), 15-32). As a bonus, a formula reducing a sum of hypergeometric functions $_3F_2$ to $_2F_1$ is obtained.
Through the theory of Jack polynomials we give an iterative method for integral formula of Dunkl-Bessel functions of type $A_{N-1}$ and a partial product formula for it.
In this note, we shall prove a formula for the Fourier transform of spherical Bessel functions over complex numbers, viewed as the complex analogue of the classical formulae of Hardy and Weber. The formula has strong representation theoretic motivations in the Waldspurger correspondence over the complex field.
In this paper, we prove an exponential integral formula for the Fourier transform of Bessel functions over complex numbers, along with a radial exponential integral formula. The former will enable us to develop the complex spectral theory of the relative trace formula for the Shimura-Waldspurger correspondence and extend the Waldspurger formula from totally real fields to arbitrary number fields.
We study potential operators (Riesz and Bessel potentials) associated with classical Jacobi and Fourier-Bessel expansions. We prove sharp estimates for the corresponding potential kernels. Then we characterize those $1 \le p,q \le \infty$, for which the potential operators are of strong type $(p,q)$, of weak type $(p,q)$ and of restricted weak type $(p,q)$. These results may be thought of as analogues of the celebrated Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev fractional integration theorem in the Jacobi and Fourier-Bessel settings. As an ingredient of our line of reasoning, we also obtain sharp estimates of t…
In this paper we study the positivity of the generalized $q$-translation associated with the $q$-Bessel Hahn Exton function which is deduced by a new formulation of the Graf's addition formula related to this function.
In this paper we obtain a set of five new transmutations of the mother formula. Further, we obtain the second set of ten exact metafunctional equations by crossbreeding on every two elements of the previous set. Elements of the last set represent a kind of synergetic formulae describing cooperative interactions between corresponding sets of values of basic classical functions.
This paper introduces and studies a generalization of the $\mathtt{k}$-Bessel function of order $ν$ given by \[\mathtt{W}^{\mathtt{k}}_{ν, c}(x):= \sum_{r=0}^\infty \frac{(-c)^r}{Γ_{\mathtt{k}}\left( r \mathtt{k} +ν+\mathtt{k}\right) r!} \left(\frac{x}{2}\right)^{2r+\fracν{\mathtt{k}}}. \] Representation formulae are derived for $\mathtt{W}^{\mathtt{k}}_{ν, c}.$ Further the function $\mathtt{W}^{\mathtt{k}}_{ν, c}$ is shown to be a solution of a second order differential equation. Monotonicity and log-convexity properties for the generalized $\mathtt{k}$-Bessel function $\mathtt{W}^{\mathtt{k}…
In this article, we shall study fundamental Bessel functions for $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{F})$ arising from the Voronoï summation formula for any rank $n$ and field $\mathbb{F} = \mathbb{R}$ or $\mathbb{C}$, with focus on developing their analytic and asymptotic theory. The main implements and subjects of our study of fundamental Bessel functions are their formal integral representations and Bessel differential equations. We shall prove the asymptotic formulae for fundamental Bessel functions and explicit connection formulae for the Bessel differential equations.
From new integral representations of the $n$-th derivative of Bessel functions with respect to the order, we derive some reflection formulas for the first and second order derivative of $J_{ν}\left( t\right) $ and $% Y_{ν}\left( t\right) $ for integral order, and for the $n$-th order derivative of $I_{ν}\left( t\right) $ and $K_{ν}\left( t\right) $ for arbitrary real order. As an application of the reflection formulas obtained for the first order derivative, we extend some formulas given in the literature to negative integral order. Also, as a by-product, we calculate an integral which does no…
We aim to introduce the generalized multiindex Bessel function $J_{\left( β_{j}\right) _{m},κ,b}^{\left( α_{j}\right)_{m},γ,c}\left[ z\right] $ and to present some formulas of the Riemann-Liouville fractional integration and differentiation operators. Further, we also derive certain integral formulas involving the newly defined generalized multiindex Bessel function $J_{\left( β_{j}\right) _{m},κ,b}^{\left( α_{j}\right)_{m},γ,c}\left[ z\right] $. We prove that such integrals are expressed in terms of the Fox-Wright function $_{p}Ψ_{q}(z)$. The results presented here are of general in nature an…
An identity involving basic Bessel functions and Al-Salam--Chihara polynomials is proved for which we recover Graf's addition formula for the Bessel function as the base $q$ tends to $1$. The corresponding product formula is derived. Some known identities for Jackson's $q$-Bessel functions are obtained as limiting cases. As special cases we prove identities for $q$-Charlier polynomials.
This paper presents the equality of finite index sums of Bessel func- tions containing arbitrary numbers of terms. These reduce to the familiar three term recursion formulas in simple cases.
We have solved a number of holonomic PDEs derived from the Bessel modules which are related to the generating functions of classical Bessel functions and the difference Bessel functions recently discovered by Bohner and Cuchta. This $D$-module approach both unifies and extends generating functions of the classical and the difference Bessel functions. It shows that the algebraic structures of the Bessel modules and related modules determine the possible formats of Bessel's generating functions studied in this article. As a consequence of these $D$-modules structures, a number of new recursion f…
An addition and product formula for the Hahn-Exton $q$-Bessel function, previously obtained by use of a quantum group theoretic interpretation, are proved analytically. A (formal) limit transition to the Graf addition formula and corresponding product formula for the Bessel function is given.
Generalized integral formulas involving the generalized Bessel-Maitland function are considered and it expressed in terms of generalized Wright hypergeometric functions. By assuming appropriate values of the parameters in the main results, we obtained some interesting results of ordinary Bessel function.
In this paper, we discuss the generalized integral formula involving Bessel-Struve kernel function $S_{α}\left( λz\right) $, which expressed in terms of generalized Wright functions. Many interesting special cases also obtained in this study.
In this paper, the mean value formula depends on the Bessel generalized shift operator corresponding to the solutions of the boundary value problem related to the Bessel operator are studied. In addition to, Riesz Bessel transforms related to the Bessel operators are studied. Since Bessel generalized shift operator is translation operator corresponding to the Bessel operator, we construct a family of RBxj by using Bessel generalized shift operator. Finally, we analysis weighted inequalities involving Riesz Bessel transforms .
In this paper, we consider the normalized Bessel function of index $α> -\frac{1}{2}$, we find an integral representation of the term $x^nj_{α+n}(x)j_α(y)$. This allows us to establish a product formula for the generalized Hankel function $B^{κ,n}_λ$ on $\mathbb{R}$. $B^{κ,n}_λ$ is the kernel of the integral transform $\mathcal{F}_{κ,n}$ arising from the Dunkl theory. Indeed we show that $B^{κ,n}_λ(x)B^{κ,n}_λ(y)$ can be expressed as an integral in terms of $B^{κ,n}_λ(z)$ with explicit kernel invoking Gegenbauer polynomials for all $n\in\mathbb{N}^\ast$. The obtained result generalizes the prod…
The Lerche-Newberger formula simplifies harmonic sums of Bessel functions and has seen application in plasma physics and frequency modulated quantum systems. In this paper, we rigorously prove the formula and extend the classical result to a family of multi-dimensional extensions of the single variable Bessel functions called generalized Bessel functions. Since prevailing definitions of these functions do not accommodate arbitrary complex order, we use an auxiliary family of functions called generalized Anger functions and show that the single-variable result holds in multiple dimensions for a…
We find an explicit integral formula for the eigenfunctions of a fourth order differential operator against the kernel involving two Bessel functions. Our formula establishes the relation between K-types in two different realizations of the minimal representation of the indefinite orthogonal group, namely the L^2-model and the conformal model.
In this paper first we survey the Turán type inequalities and related problems for the Bessel functions of the first kind. Then we extend the known higher order Turán type inequalities for Bessel functions of the first kind to real parameters and we deduce new closed integral representation formulae for the second kind Neumann type series of Bessel functions of the first kind occurring in the study of Turán determinants of Bessel functions of the first kind. At the end of the paper we prove a Turán type inequality for the Bessel functions of the second kind.
In this paper we give a new integral expression of I and J-Bessel functions on simple Euclidean Jordan algebras, integrating on a bounded symmetric domain. From this we easily get the upper estimate of Bessel functions. As an application we give an upper estimate of the integral kernel function of the holomorphic 1-dimensional semi-group acting on the space of square integrable functions on symmetric cones.
In this paper, we prove a new integral representation for the Bessel function of the first kind $J_μ(z)$. This formula generalizes to any $μ,z\in\mathbb{C}$ the classical representations of Bessel and Poisson.
Motivated by Dunkl operators theory, we consider a generating series involving a modified Bessel function and a Gegenbauer polynomial, that generalizes a known series already considered by L. Gegenbauer. We actually use inversion formulas for Fourier and Radon transforms to derive a closed formula for this series when the parameter of the Gegenbauer polynomial is a strictly positive integer. As a by-product, we get a relatively simple integral representation for the generalized Bessel function associated with even dihedral groups when both multiplicities sum to an integer. In particular, we re…
N. Kishore, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 14 (1963), 523, considered the Rayleigh functions sigma_n, sums of the negative even powers of the (non-zero) zeros of the Bessel function J_nu(z) and provided a convolution type sum formula for finding sigma_n in terms of sigma_1, ...,sigma_{n-1}. His main tool was the recurrence relation for Bessel functions. Here we extend this result to a larger class of functions by using Riccati ifferential equations. We get new results for the zeros of certain combinations of Bessel functions and their first and second derivatives as well as recovering some results of …
Employing the Lagrange inverting series, a solution of the transcendental equation $(x-a)(x-b)=le^{x}$, that can be considered a quadratic generalization of the equation defining Lambert $W$ function, has been found in terms of Bessel orthogonal polynomials. Once again a transcendental equation can be formally solved by means of classic orthogonal polynomials, suggesting a link between Rodrigues formulas and the terms of Lagrange series. A novel representation for Bessel polynomials has been found, by means of differential identity : $\left(x^{2}D\right)^{n}=x^{n+1}D^{n}x^{n-1}$
Partial Fourier transforms are used to find explicit formulas for two remarkable fundamental solutions for a generalized Tricomi operator. These fundamental solutions reflect clearly the mixed type of the operator. In order to prove these results, we establish explicit formulas for Fourier transforms of some type of Bessel functions.
Let $α_{n1},\dots,α_{nn}$ be the zeros of the $n$th Bessel polynomial $y_n(z)$ and let $a_{nk}=1-α_{nk}/2$, $b_{nk}=1+α_{nk}/2$ $(k=1,\dots,n)$. We propose the new formula \[z f'(z)\approx \sum_{k=1}^n \big(f(a_{nk} z)-f(b_{nk} z)\big)\] for numerical differentiation of analytic functions $f(z)=\sum_0^\infty f_m z^m$. This formula is exact for all polynomials of degree at most $2n$. We find the sharp order of nonlocal estimate of the corresponding remainder for the case when all $|f_m|\le 1$. The estimate shows a high rate of convergence of the differentiating sums to $zf'(z)$ on compact subse…
In this paper, we are interested in a Neumann-type series for modified Bessel functions of the first kind which arises in the study of Dunkl operators associated with dihedral groups and as an instance of the Laguerre semigroup constructed by Ben Said-Kobayashi-Orsted. We first revisit the particular case corresponding to the group of square-preserving symmetries for which we give two new and different proofs other than the existing ones. The first proof uses the expansion of powers in a Neumann series of Bessel functions while the second one is based on a quadratic transformation for the Gaus…
We investigate a family of integrals involving modified Bessel functions that arise in the context of neutrino scattering. Recursive formulas are derived for evaluating these integrals and their asymptotic expansions are computed. We prove in certain cases that the asymptotic expansion yields the exact result after a finite number of terms. In each of these cases we derive a formula that bounds the order at which the expansion terminates. The method of calculation developed in this paper is applicable to similar families of integrals that involve Bessel or modified Bessel functions.
Recently Dixit, Kesarwani, and Moll introduced a generalization $K_{z,w}(x)$ of the modified Bessel function $K_{z}(x)$ and showed that it satisfies an elegant theory similar to $K_{z}(x)$. In this paper, we show that while $K_{\frac{1}{2}}(x)$ is an elementary function, $K_{\frac{1}{2},w}(x)$ can be written in the form of an infinite series of Humbert functions. As an application of this result, we generalize the transformation formula for the logarithm of the Dedekind eta function $η(z)$.
In this article we introduce a new category of special functions called fundamental Bessel functions arising from the Voronoi summation formula for $\mathrm{GL}_n (\mathbb{R})$. The fundamental Bessel functions of rank one and two are the oscillatory exponential functions $e^{\pm i x}$ and the classical Bessel functions respectively. The main implements and subjects of our study of fundamental Bessel functions are their formal integral representations and Bessel equations.
This survey paper discusses the history of approximation formulas for n-th order derivatives by integrals involving orthogonal polynomials. There is a large but rather disconnected corpus of literature on such formulas. We give some results in greater generality than in the literature. Notably we unify the continuous and discrete case. We make many side remarks, for instance on wavelets, Mantica's Fourier-Bessel functions and Greville's minimum R_alpha formulas in connection with discrete smoothing.
A new representation for a regular solution of the radial Dirac system of a special form is obtained. The solution is represented as a Neumann series of Bessel functions uniformly convergent with respect to the spectral parameter. For the coefficients of the series convenient for numerical computation recurrent integration formulas are given. Numerical examples are presented.
We derive new approximate representations of the Lommel functions in terms of the Scorer function and approximate representations of the first derivative of the Lommel functions in terms of the derivative of the Scorer function. Using the same method we obtain previously known approximate representations of the Nicholson type for Bessel functions and their first derivatives. We study also for what values of the parameters our representations have reasonable accuracy.
This paper was published in the special issue of the Journal of Inequalities and Special Functions dedicated to Professor Ivan Dimovski's contributions to different fields of mathematics: transmutation theory, special functions, integral transforms, function theory etc. In this paper we study fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator. The fractional powers are defined explicitly in the integral form without use of integral transforms in its definitions. Some general properties of the fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator are proved and some are listed. Among them ar…
The Euler-Gauss linear transformation formula for the hypergeometric function was extended by Goursat for the case of logarithmic singularities. By replacing the perturbed Bessel differential equation by a monodromic functional equation, and studying this equation separately from the differential equation by an appropriate Laplace-Borel technique, we associate with the latter equation another monodromic relation in the dual complex plane. This enables us to prove a duality theorem and to extend Goursat's formula to much larger classes of functions.
In a recent paper we investigated the internal space of Bessel functions associated with their orders. We found a formula (new) unifying Bessel functions of integer and of real orders. In this paper we study the deformed exterior derivative system $H=d_λ$ on the puctured plane as a tentative to understand the origin of the formula and find that indeed similar formula occurs. This is no coincidence as we will demonstrate that generating functions of integer order Bessel functions and of real orders are respectively eigenstates of the usual exterior derivative and its deformation. As a direct co…
Magnitude is an invariant of metric spaces with origins in category theory. Using potential theoretic methods, Barceló and Carbery gave an algorithm for calculating the magnitude of any odd dimensional ball in Euclidean space, and they proved that it was a rational function of the radius of the ball. In this paper an explicit formula is given for the magnitude of each odd dimensional ball in terms of a ratio of Hankel determinants of reverse Bessel polynomials. This is done by finding a distribution on the ball which solves the weight equations. Using Schröder paths and a continued fraction ex…
There exist several multivariate extensions of the classical Sonine integral representation for Bessel functions of some index $μ+ ν$ with respect to such functions of lower index $μ.$ For Bessel functions on matrix cones, Sonine formulas involve beta densities $β_{μ,ν}$ on the cone and trace already back to Herz. The Sonine representations known so far on symmetric cones are restricted to continuous ranges $\Reμ, \Re ν> μ_0$, where the involved Beta densities are probability measures and the limiting index $μ_0\geq 0$ depends on the rank of the cone. It is zero only in the one-dimensional cas…
Let $V_k$ denote Dunkl's intertwining operator for the root sytem $B_n$ with multiplicity $k=(k_1,k_2)$ with $k_1\geq 0, k_2>0$. It was recently shown that the positivity of the operator $V_{k^\prime\!,k} =V_{k^\prime}\circ V_k^{-1}$ which intertwines the Dunkl operators associated with $k$ and $k^\prime=(k_1+h,k_2)$ implies that $h\in[k_2(n-1),\infty[\,\cup\,(\{0,k_2,\ldots,k_2(n-1)\}-\mathbb Z_+)$. This is also a necessary condition for the existence of positive Sonine formulas between the associated Bessel functions. In this paper we present two partial converse positive results: For $k_1 \…
