Partial Fourier transforms are used to find explicit formulas for two remarkable fundamental solutions for a generalized Tricomi operator. These fundamental solutions reflect clearly the mixed type of the operator. In order to prove these results, we establish explicit formulas for Fourier transforms of some type of Bessel functions.
In this work, The Tricomi type boundary problem with integral conjugation condition on the type-changing line for the mixed type equation with Hilfer fractional differential operator has been considered. Using method of integral equations, energy integral's method, a unique solvability of the formulated problem has been proved.
We consider the expansion of an integral considered by F.G. Tricomi given by \[\int_{-\infty}^\infty x e^{-x^2}(\frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{2}\mbox{erf}\,x)^{m} dx\] as $m\to\infty$. The procedure involves a suitable change of variable and the inversion of the complementary error function $\mbox{erfc}\,x$. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the accuracy of the expansion. A second part examines an extension of an integral arising in airfoil theory.
Some sharp two-sided Turán type inequalities for parabolic cylinder functions and Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions are deduced. The proofs are based on integral representations for quotients of parabolic cylinder functions and Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions, which arise in the study of the infinite divisibility of the Fisher-Snedecor F distribution. Moroever, some complete monotonicity results are given concerning Turán determinants of Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions. These complement and improve some of the results of Ismail and Laforgia [23].
In this paper we deduce some tight Turán type inequalities for Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions of the second kind, which in some cases improve the existing results in the literature. We also give alternative proofs for some already established Turán type inequalities. Moreover, by using these Turán type inequalities, we deduce some new inequalities for Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions of the second kind. The key tool in the proof of the Turán type inequalities is an integral representation for a quotient of Tricomi confluent hypergeometric functions, which arises in the st…
In this paper we consider the evolution equation $\partial_t u=Δ_μu+f$ and the corresponding Cauchy problem, where $Δ_μ$ represents the Bessel operator $\partial_x^2+(\frac{1}{4}-μ^2)x^{-2}$, for every $μ>-1$. We establish weighted and mixed weighted Sobolev type inequalities for solutions of Bessel parabolic equations. We use singular integrals techniques in a parabolic setting.
A number of new definite integrals involving Bessel functions are presented. These have been derived by finding new integral representations for the product of two Bessel functions of different order and argument in terms of the generalized hypergeometric function with subsequent reduction to special cases. Connection is made with Weber's second exponential integral and Laplace transforms of products of three Bessel functions.
Based on known definite integrals of Bessel functions of the first kind, we obtain exact solutions to unknown definite integrals using the method of integral transforms from Hankel's transform.
Analytic expressions for integrals which arise in a theory of atomic structure due to Schwinger and Englert are evaluated in terms of Bessel and Struve functions
Generalized integral formulas involving the generalized Bessel-Maitland function are considered and it expressed in terms of generalized Wright hypergeometric functions. By assuming appropriate values of the parameters in the main results, we obtained some interesting results of ordinary Bessel function.
We investigate the asymptotic expansion of integrals analogous to Ball's integral \[\int_0^\infty \left(\frac{Γ(1+ν)|J_ν(x)|}{(x/2)^ν}\right)^{\!n}dx\] for large $n$ in which the Bessel function $J_ν(x)$ is replaced by the modified Bessel functions $I_ν(x)$ and $K_ν(x)$ together with appropriate exponential factors $e^{\mp x}$, respectively. The above integral with $J_ν(x)$ replaced by a hyper-Bessel function of the type recently discussed in Aktas {\it et al.} [The Ramanujan J., 2019] and taken over a finite interval determined by the first positive zero of the function is also considered for…
In this paper, we discuss the generalized integral formula involving Bessel-Struve kernel function $S_{α}\left( λz\right) $, which expressed in terms of generalized Wright functions. Many interesting special cases also obtained in this study.
It is shown in this paper that there is a connection between the Riemann zeta-function $\zf$ and the Bessel's functions. In this direction, a new class of the nonlinear integral equations is introduced.
The main object of this article is to present an interesting double integral involving generalized Bessel-Maitland function defined by Ghaysuddin et al., which is expressed in terms of generalized (Wright) hypergeometric function. We also considered some special cases as an application of the main result.
We establish good numerical estimates for a certain class of integrals involving sixfold products of Bessel functions. We use relatively elementary methods. The estimates will be used in the study of a sharp Fourier restriction inequality on the circle.
In this paper, we derive a Laplace-type integral representations for both the generalized Bessel function and the Dunkl kernel associated with the rank-two root system of type B_2. The derivation of the first one elaborates on the integral representation of the generalized Bessel function proved in \cite{Demni} through the modified Bessel function of the first kind. In particular, we recover an expression of the density of the Duistermaat-Heckman measure for the dihedral group of order eight. As to the integral representation of the corresponding Dunkl kernel, it follows from an application of…
Generalized integral formulas involving the generalized modified k-Bessel function $J_{k,ν}^{c,γ,λ}\left( z\right) $ of first kind are expressed in terms generalized $k-$Wright functions. Some interesting special cases of the main results are also discussed
Simple inequalities are established for some integrals involving the modified Bessel functions of the first and second kind. In most cases these inequalities are tight in certain limits. As a consequence, we deduce a tight double inequality, involving the modified Bessel function of the first kind, for a generalized hypergeometric function. We also present some open problems that arise from this research.
Simple inequalities for some integrals involving the modified Bessel functions $I_ν(x)$ and $K_ν(x)$ are established. We also obtain a monotonicity result for $K_ν(x)$ and a new lower bound, that involves gamma functions, for $K_0(x)$.
We obtain new inequalities for the modified Bessel function of the second kind $K_ν$ in terms of the gamma function. These bounds follow as special cases of inequalities that we derive for the kernel of the Krätzel integral transformation.
Spectral decomposition of dynamical equations using curl-eigenfunctions has been extensively used in fluid and plasma dynamics problems using their orthogonality and completeness properties for both linear and non-linear cases. Coefficients of such expansions are integrals over products of Bessel functions in problems involving cylindrical geometry. In this paper, certain identities involving products of two and three general solutions of Bessel's equation have been derived. Some of these identities have been useful in the study of Turner relaxation of annular magnetized plasma [S.K.H. Auluck,…
We consider a generalisation of a definite integral involving the Bessel function of the first kind. It is shown that this integral can be expressed in terms of the Fox-Wright function ${}_pΨ_q(z)$ of one variable. Some consequences of this representation are explored by suitable choice of parameters. In addition, two closed-form evaluations of infinite series of the Fox-Wright function are deduced.
We investigate the integral \[\int_0^\infty \cosh^μ\!t\,K_ν(z\cosh t)\,dt \qquad \Re(z)>0,\] where $K$ denotes the modified Bessel function, for non-negative integer values of the parameters $μ$ and $ν$. When the integers are of different parity, closed-form expressions are obtained in terms of $z^{-1}e^{-z}$ multiplied by a polynomial in $z^{-1}$ of degree dependent on the sign of $μ-ν$.
We investigate a family of integrals involving modified Bessel functions that arise in the context of neutrino scattering. Recursive formulas are derived for evaluating these integrals and their asymptotic expansions are computed. We prove in certain cases that the asymptotic expansion yields the exact result after a finite number of terms. In each of these cases we derive a formula that bounds the order at which the expansion terminates. The method of calculation developed in this paper is applicable to similar families of integrals that involve Bessel or modified Bessel functions.
We aim to introduce the generalized multiindex Bessel function $J_{\left( β_{j}\right) _{m},κ,b}^{\left( α_{j}\right)_{m},γ,c}\left[ z\right] $ and to present some formulas of the Riemann-Liouville fractional integration and differentiation operators. Further, we also derive certain integral formulas involving the newly defined generalized multiindex Bessel function $J_{\left( β_{j}\right) _{m},κ,b}^{\left( α_{j}\right)_{m},γ,c}\left[ z\right] $. We prove that such integrals are expressed in terms of the Fox-Wright function $_{p}Ψ_{q}(z)$. The results presented here are of general in nature an…
Simple inequalities are established for some integrals involving the modified Bessel functions of the first and second kind. In most cases, we show that we obtain the best possible constant or that our bounds are tight in certain limits. We apply these inequalities to obtain uniform bounds for several expressions involving integrals of modified Bessel functions. Such expressions occur in Stein's method for variance-gamma approximation, and the results obtained in this paper allow for technical advances in the method. We also present some open problems that arise from this research.
We obtain integral representations of the $n$-th derivatives of the Bessel functions with respect to the order. The numerical evaluation of these expressions is very efficient using a double exponential integration strategy. Also, from the integral representation corresponding to the Macdonald function, we have calculated a new integral. Finally, we calculate integral expressions for the fractional derivatives of the Bessel functions with respect to the order. Simple proofs for some particular cases given in the literature are provided as well.
We use the operator method to evaluate a class of integrals involving Bessel or Bessel-type functions. The technique we propose is based on the formal reduction of these family of functions to Gaussians.
In this paper we give a new integral expression of I and J-Bessel functions on simple Euclidean Jordan algebras, integrating on a bounded symmetric domain. From this we easily get the upper estimate of Bessel functions. As an application we give an upper estimate of the integral kernel function of the holomorphic 1-dimensional semi-group acting on the space of square integrable functions on symmetric cones.
As to the Bessel integrals of type \begin{equation*} \int_0^x \left(x^μ-t^μ\right)^λt^αJ_β(t)dt\qquad(x>0), \end{equation*} we improve known positivity results by making use of new positivity criteria for ${}_1F_2$ and ${}_2F_3$ generalized hypergeometric functions. As an application, we extend Buhmann's class of compactly supported radial basis functions.
In the first part of this paper, we express the generalized Bessel function associated with dihedral systems and a constant multiplicity function as a infinite series of confluent Horn functions. The key ingredient leading to this expression is an extension of an identity involving Gegenbauer polynomials proved in a previous paper by the authors, together with the use of the Poisson kernel for these polynomials. In particular, we derive an integral representation of this generalized Bessel function over the standard simplex. The second part of this paper is concerned with even dihedral systems…
The derivatives with respect to order ν for the Bessel functions of argument x (real or complex) are studied. Representations are derived in terms of integrals that involve the products pairs of Bessel functions, and in turn series expansions are obtained for these integrals. From the new integral representations, asymptotic approximations involving Airy functions are constructed for the order derivatives, for ν large and uniformly valid for unbounded positive real x.
Fix $λ>0$. Consider the Bessel operator $\triangle_λ:=-\frac{d^2}{dx^2}-\frac{2λ}{x} \frac d{dx}$ on $\mathbb{R_+}$, where $\mathbb{R_+}:=(0,\infty)$ and $dm_λ:=x^{2λ}dx$ with $dx$ the Lebesgue measure. We provide a deeper study of the Bessel Riesz transform and fractional integral operator via the related Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces associated with $\triangle_λ$. Moreover, we investigate some possible characterization of the commutator of fractional integral operator, which was missing in the literature of the Bessel setting.
We have used recent integral representations of the derivatives of the Bessel functions with respect to the order to obtain closed-form expressions in terms of generalized hypergeometric functions and Meijer-$G$ functions. Also, we have carried out similar calculations for the derivatives of the modified Bessel functions with respect to the order, obtaining closed-form expressions as well. For this purpose, we have obtained integral representations of the derivatives of the modified Bessel functions with respect to the order. As by-products, we have calculated two non-tabulated integrals.
Hardy-Littlewood maximal, generalized Bessel-Riesz and generalized fractional integral operators in generalized Morrey and $BMO_ϕ$ spaces associated with Dunkl operator on the real line
We introduce a symbolic method for the evaluation of definite integrals containing combinations of various functions, including exponentials, logarithm and products of Bessel functions of different types. The method we develop is naturally suited for the evaluation of integrals associated with specific Feynman diagrams.
We provide additional methods for the evaluation of the integral \begin{eqnarray} N_{0,4}(a;m) & := & \int_{0}^{\infty} \frac{dx} {\left( x^{4} + 2ax^{2} + 1 \right)^{m+1}} \end{eqnarray} where $m \in {\mathbb{N}}$ and $a \in (-1, \infty)$ in the form \begin{eqnarray} N_{0,4}(a;m) & = & \fracπ{2^{m+3/2} (a+1)^{m+1/2} } P_{m}(a) \end{eqnarray} where $P_{m}(a)$ is a polynomial in $a$. The first one is based on a method of Schwinger to evaluate integrals appearing in Feynman diagrams, the second one is a byproduct of an expression for a rational integral in terms of Schur functions. Finally, the …
In this paper, we prove a new integral representation for the Bessel function of the first kind $J_μ(z)$. This formula generalizes to any $μ,z\in\mathbb{C}$ the classical representations of Bessel and Poisson.
In this present paper our aim is to deal with two integral transforms which involving the Gauss hypergeometric function as its kernels. We prove some compositions formulas for such a generalized fractional integrals with k Bessel function. The results are established in terms of generalized Wright type hypergeometric function and generalized hypergeometric series. Also, the authors presented some corresponding assertions for Riemann Liouville and Erdelyi Kober fractional integral transforms.
A Fourier-type integral representation for Bessel's function of the first kind and complex order is obtained by using the Gegenbuaer extension of Poisson's integral representation for the Bessel function along with a trigonometric integral representation of Gegenbauer's polynomials. This representation lets us express various functions related to the incomplete gamma function in series of Bessel's functions. Neumann series of Bessel functions are also considered and a new closed-form integral representation for this class of series is given. The density function of this representation is simpl…
The order derivatives of the modified Bessel function of the second kind at s = .5 are obtained as finite expressions of integrals that generalize the exponential integral appearing in the first derivative (Theorem 1.) The derivatives arise in the investigation of a BesselK relationship with the Riemann zeta function. Any use of the term, derivative, with respect to a Bessel function, here means a derivative with respect to its order.
We find an explicit integral formula for the eigenfunctions of a fourth order differential operator against the kernel involving two Bessel functions. Our formula establishes the relation between K-types in two different realizations of the minimal representation of the indefinite orthogonal group, namely the L^2-model and the conformal model.
In the present paper, unification of Bessel, modified Bessel, spherical Bessel and Bessel-Clifford functions via the generalized Pochhammer symbol [ Srivastava HM, Cetinkaya A, Kıymaz O. A certain generalized Pochhammer symbol and its applications to hypergeometric functions. Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2014, 226 : 484-491] is defined. Several potentially useful properties of the unified family such as generating function, integral representation, Laplace transform and Mellin transform are obtained. Besides, the unified Bessel, modified Bessel, spherical Bessel and Bessel-Clifford fun…
Simple upper and lower bounds are obtained for the integral $\int_0^x\mathrm{e}^{-γt}t^νI_ν(t)\,\mathrm{d}t$, $x>0$, $ν>-\frac{1}{2}$, $0<γ<1$. Most of our bounds for this integral are tight as $x\rightarrow\infty$. We apply one of our inequalities to bound some expressions involving this integral. Two of these expressions appear in Stein's method for variance-gamma approximation, and our bounds will allow for a technical advancement to be made to the method.
In this paper, sums represented in (3) are studied. The expressions are derived in terms of Bessel functions of the first and second kinds and their integrals. Further, we point out the integrals can be written as a Meijer G function.
This paper was published in the special issue of the Journal of Inequalities and Special Functions dedicated to Professor Ivan Dimovski's contributions to different fields of mathematics: transmutation theory, special functions, integral transforms, function theory etc. In this paper we study fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator. The fractional powers are defined explicitly in the integral form without use of integral transforms in its definitions. Some general properties of the fractional powers of the Bessel differential operator are proved and some are listed. Among them ar…
In this work, series expansions in terms of Bessel functions of the first kind are given for the sine and cosine integrals. These representations differ from many of the known Neumann-type series expansions for the sine and cosine integrals, which contain non-integer order or quadratic Bessel function terms. In addition, using the theory of Euler sums we are able to obtain some closed form evaluations of integrals involving Bessel functions and the sine and cosine integrals.
In the paper, the authors verify the complete monotonicity of the difference $e^{1/t}-ψ'(t)$ on $(0,\infty)$, compute the completely monotonic degree and establish integral representations of the remainder of the Laurent series expansion of $e^{1/z}$, and derive an inequality which gives a lower bound for the first order modified Bessel function of the first kind.
From new integral representations of the $n$-th derivative of Bessel functions with respect to the order, we derive some reflection formulas for the first and second order derivative of $J_{ν}\left( t\right) $ and $% Y_{ν}\left( t\right) $ for integral order, and for the $n$-th order derivative of $I_{ν}\left( t\right) $ and $K_{ν}\left( t\right) $ for arbitrary real order. As an application of the reflection formulas obtained for the first order derivative, we extend some formulas given in the literature to negative integral order. Also, as a by-product, we calculate an integral which does no…
We here present a method of performing integrals of products of spherical Bessel functions (SBFs) weighted by a power-law. Our method, which begins with double-SBF integrals, exploits a differential operator $\hat{D}$ defined via Bessel's differential equation. Application of this operator raises the power-law in steps of two. We also here display a suitable base integral expression to which this operator can be applied for both even and odd cases. We test our method by showing that it reproduces previously-known solutions. Importantly, it also goes beyond them, offering solutions in terms of …
In this paper, we prove an exponential integral formula for the Fourier transform of Bessel functions over complex numbers, along with a radial exponential integral formula. The former will enable us to develop the complex spectral theory of the relative trace formula for the Shimura-Waldspurger correspondence and extend the Waldspurger formula from totally real fields to arbitrary number fields.
Through the theory of Jack polynomials we give an iterative method for integral formula of Dunkl-Bessel functions of type $A_{N-1}$ and a partial product formula for it.
A useful identity relating the infinite sum of two Bessel functions to their infinite integral was discovered in Dominici et al. (2012). Here, we extend this result to products of $N$ Bessel functions, and show it can be straightforwardly proven using the Abel-Plana theorem, or the Poisson summation formula. For $N=2$, the proof is much simpler than that of Dominici et al., and significantly enlarges the range of validity.
We consider a new identity involving integrals and sums of Bessel functions. The identity provides new ways to evaluate integrals of products of two Bessel functions. The identity is remarkably simple and powerful since the summand and integrand are of exactly the same form and the sum converges to the integral relatively fast for most cases. A proof and numerical examples of the identity are discussed.
In this work, we are interested by the $q$-Bessel Fourier transform with a new approach. Many important results of this $q$-integral transform are proved with a new constructive demonstrations and we establish in particular the associated $q$-Fourier-Neumen expansion which involves the $q$-little Jacobi polynomials.
