We construct the action of the q-deformed W-algebra on its level r representation geometrically, using the moduli space of U(r) instantons on the plane and the double shuffle algebra. We give an explicit LDU decomposition for the action of W-algebra currents in the fixed point basis of the level r representation, and prove a relation between the Carlsson-Okounkov Ext operator and intertwiners for the deformed W-algebra. We interpret this result as a q-deformed version of the AGT-W relations.
We construct explicit elements $W_{ij}^k$ in (a completion of) the shifted quantum toroidal algebra of type $A$, and show that these elements act by 0 on the $K$-theory of moduli spaces of parabolic sheaves. We expect that the quotient of the shifted quantum toroidal algebra by the ideal generated by the elements $W_{ij}^k$ will be related to $q$-deformed $W$-algebras of type $A$ for arbitrary nilpotent, which would imply a $q$-deformed version of the AGT correspondence between gauge theory with surface operators and conformal field theory.
Original proofs of the AGT relations with the help of the Hubbard-Stratanovich duality of the modified Dotsenko-Fateev matrix model did not work for beta different from one, because Nekrasov functions were not properly reproduced by Selberg-Kadell integrals of Jack polynomials. We demonstrate that if the generalized Jack polynomials, depending on the N-ples of Young diagrams from the very beginning, are used instead of the N-linear combinations of ordinary Jacks, this resolves the problem. Such polynomials naturally arise as special elements in the equivariant cohomologies of the GL(N)-instant…
We prove the connection between the Nekrasov partition function of N=2 super-symmetric U(2) gauge theory with adjoint matter and conformal blocks for the Virasoro algebra, as predicted by the Alday-Gaiotto-Tachikawa relations. Mathematically, this is achieved by relating the Carlsson-Okounkov Ext vector bundle on the moduli space of rank 2 sheaves with Liouville vertex operators. Our approach is geometric in nature, and uses a new method for intersection-theoretic computations of the Ext operator.
We construct level one dominant representations of the affine Kac-Moody algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_k$ on the equivariant cohomology groups of moduli spaces of rank one framed sheaves on the orbifold compactification of the minimal resolution $X_k$ of the $A_{k-1}$ toric singularity $\mathbb{C}^2/\mathbb{Z}_k$. We show that the direct sum of the fundamental classes of these moduli spaces is a Whittaker vector for $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_k$, which proves the AGT correspondence for pure $\mathcal{N}=2$ $U(1)$ gauge theory on $X_k$. We consider Carlsson-Okounkov type Ext-bundles over produc…
Recently Alday, Gaiotto and Tachikawa proposed a conjecture relating 4-dimensional super-symmetric gauge theory for a gauge group G with certain 2-dimensional conformal field theory. This conjecture implies the existence of certain structures on the (equivariant) intersection cohomology of the Uhlenbeck partial compactification of the moduli space of framed G-bundles on P^2. More precisely, it predicts the existence of an action of the corresponding W-algebra on the above cohomology, satisfying certain properties. We propose a "finite analog" of the (above corollary of the) AGT conjecture. Nam…
We continue our study of the AGT correspondence between instanton counting on C^2/Z_p and Conformal field theories with the symmetry algebra A(r,p). In the cases r=1, p=2 and r=2, p=2 this algebra specialized to: A(1,2)=H+sl(2)_1 and A(2,2)=H+sl(2)_2+NSR. As the main tool we use a new construction of the algebra A(r,2) as the limit of the toroidal gl(1) algebra for q,t tend to -1. We claim that the basis of the representation of the algebra A(r,2) (or equivalently, of the space of the local fields of the corresponding CFT) can be expressed through Macdonald polynomials with the parameters q,t …
We generalize our analysis in [arXiv:1301.1977], and show that a 5d and 6d AGT correspondence for SU(N) -- which essentially relates the relevant 5d and 6d Nekrasov instanton partition functions to the integrable representations of a q-deformed and elliptic affine W_N-algebra -- can be derived, purely physically, from the principle that the spacetime BPS spectra of string-dual M-theory compactifications ought to be equivalent. Via an appropriate defect, we also derive a "fully-ramified" version of the 5d and 6d AGT correspondence where integrable representations of a quantum and elliptic affin…
We further explore the implications of our framework in [arXiv:1301.1977, arXiv:1309.4775], and physically derive, from the principle that the spacetime BPS spectra of string-dual M-theory compactifications ought to be equivalent, (i) a 5d AGT correspondence for any compact Lie group, (ii) a 5d and 6d AGT correspondence on ALE space of type ADE, and (iii) identities between the ordinary, q-deformed and elliptic affine W-algebras associated with the 4d, 5d and 6d AGT correspondence, respectively, which also define a quantum geometric Langlands duality and its higher analogs formulated by Feigin…
The commutative trigonometric shuffle algebra ${\mathrm A}$ is a space of symmetric rational functions satisfying certain wheel conditions. We describe a ring isomorphism between ${\mathrm A}$ and the center of the Hecke algebra using a realization of the elements of ${\mathrm A}$ as partition functions of coloured lattice paths associated to the $R$-matrix of $\mathcal U_{t^{1/2}}(\widehat{gl}_{\infty})$. As an application, we compute under certain conditions the Hilbert series of the commuting scheme and identify it with a particular element of the shuffle algebra ${\mathrm A}$, thus providi…
We consider the algebra of Hecke correspondences (elementary transformations at a single point) acting on the algebraic K-theory groups of the moduli spaces of stable sheaves on a smooth projective surface S. We derive quadratic relations between the Hecke correspondences, and compare the algebra they generate with the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra (at a suitable specialization of parameters), as well as with a generalized shuffle algebra.
In this paper, we prove that the quantum toroidal algebra of gl_n is isomorphic to the double shuffle algebra of Feigin and Odesskii for the cyclic quiver. The shuffle algebra viewpoint will allow us to prove a factorization formula for the universal R-matrix of the quantum toroidal algebra.
We examine the shuffle algebra defined over the ring $\mathbf{R} = \mathbb{C}[q_1^{\pm 1}, q_2^{\pm 1}]$, also called the integral shuffle algebra, which was found by Schiffmann and Vasserot to act on the equivariant $K$-theory of the Hilbert scheme of points in the plane. We find that the modules of 2 and 3 variable elements of the integral shuffle algebra are finitely generated and prove a necessary condition for an element to be in the integral shuffle algebra for arbitrarily many variables.
We define slope subalgebras in the shuffle algebra associated to a (doubled) quiver, thus yielding a factorization of the universal R-matrix of the double of the shuffle algebra in question. We conjecture that this factorization matches the one defined by [1, 18, 32, 33, 34] using Nakajima quiver varieties.
In this paper we construct the action of Ding-Iohara and shuffle algebras in the sum of localized equivariant K-groups of Hilbert schemes of points on C^2. We show that commutative elements K_i of shuffle algebra act through vertex operators over positive part {h_i}_{i>0} of the Heisenberg algebra in these K-groups. Hence we get the action of Heisenberg algebra itself. Finally, we normalize the basis of the structure sheaves of fixed points in such a way that it corresponds to the basis of Macdonald polynomials in the Fock space k[h_1,h_2,...].
Using the concept of mixable shuffles, we formulate explicitly the quantum quasi-shuffle product, as well as the subalgebra generated by primitive elements of the quantum quasi-shuffle bialgebra. We construct a braided coalgebra structure which is dual to the quantum quasi-shuffle algebra. We provide representations of quantum quasi-shuffle algebras on commutative braided Rota-Baxter algebras. As an application, we establish a formal power series whose terms come from a special representation of some kind of quasi-shuffle algebra and whose evaluation at 1 is the multiple $q$-zeta values.
We show that the shuffle algebra associated to a doubled quiver (determined by 3-variable wheel conditions) is generated by elements of minimal degree. Together with results of Varagnolo-Vasserot and Yu Zhao, this implies that the aforementioned shuffle algebra is isomorphic to the localized K-theoretic Hall algebra associated to the quiver by Schiffmann-Vasserot. With small modifications, our theorems also hold under certain specializations of the equivariant parameters, which will allow us in Neguţ-Sala-Schiffmann to give a generators-and-relations description of the Hall algebra of any curv…
In this article, we construct certain commutative subalgebras of the big shuffle algebra of cyclic type. This can be considered as a generalization of the similar construction for the small shuffle algebra, obtained by Feigin-Hashizume-Hoshino-Shiraishi-Yanagida. We present a Bethe algebra realization of these subalgebras. The latter identifies them with the Bethe subalgebras of quantum affine gl(n).
In Part I, we extend our analysis in [arXiv:0807.1107], and show that a mathematically conjectured geometric Langlands duality for complex surfaces in [1], and its generalizations -- which relate some cohomology of the moduli space of certain ("ramified") G-instantons to the integrable representations of the Langlands dual of certain affine (sub) G-algebras, where G is any compact Lie group -- can be derived, purely physically, from the principle that the spacetime BPS spectra of string-dual M-theory compactifications ought to be equivalent. In Part II, to the setup in Part I, we introduce Ome…
In this paper we study some combinatorial properties of the shuffle algebra $S_{q_{1},q_{2}}$ with two complex parameters and, in particular, obtain the Hilbert series for $S_{q_{1},q_{2}}/I$, where $I$ is the ideal generated by $z-λ$ for both generic $q_{1},q_{2}$ and satisfying the relation $q_{1}^{a}q_{2}^{b}=1$ with $a, b \in \mathbb{N}$.

Motivated by a polynomial identity of certain iterated integrals, first observed in [CGM20] in the setting of lattice paths, we prove an intriguing combinatorial identity in the shuffle algebra. It has a close connection to de Bruijn's formula when interpreted in the framework of signatures of paths.
We introduce super Yangians of $\mathfrak{gl}(V),\mathfrak{sl}(V)$ (in the new Drinfeld realization) associated to all Dynkin diagrams of $\mathfrak{gl}(V)$, where $V$ is a finite-dimensional super vector space. We show that all of them are isomorphic to the super Yangians introduced by Maxim Nazarov, by identifying them with the corresponding RTT super Yangians. However, their "positive halves" are not pairwise isomorphic, and we obtain the shuffle algebra realizations of those. We adapt the latter to the trigonometric setup by obtaining the shuffle algebra realizations of the "positive halve…
We construct a family of PBWD (Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt-Drinfeld) bases for the quantum loop algebras $U_v(L\mathfrak{sl}_n), U_{v_1,v_2}(L\mathfrak{sl}_n), U_v(L\mathfrak{sl}(m|n))$ in the new Drinfeld realizations. In the 2-parameter case, this proves Theorem 3.11 of [Hu-Rosso-Zhang] (stated in loc. cit. without a proof), while in the super case it proves a conjecture of [Zhang]. The main ingredient in our proofs is the interplay between those quantum loop algebras and the corresponding shuffle algebras, which are trigonometric counterparts of the elliptic shuffle algebras of Feigin-Odesskii. …
We present a proof of the compositional shuffle conjecture, which generalizes the famous shuffle conjecture for the character of the diagonal coinvariant algebra. We first formulate the combinatorial side of the conjecture in terms of certain operators on a graded vector space $V_*$ whose degree zero part is the ring of symmetric functions $Sym[X]$ over $\mathbb{Q}(q,t)$. We then extend these operators to an action of an algebra $\tildeÅ$ acting on this space, and interpret the right generalization of the $\nabla$ using an involution of the algebra which is antilinear with respect to the conju…
We give a proof of the recursive formula on the norm of Whittaker vector of the deformed Virasoro algebra, which is an analog of the one for the Virasoro Lie algebra proposed by Al. Zamolodchikov. Our formula gives a proof of the pure SU(2) 5d AGT relation proposed by Awata and Yamada. We also give a summary of the structures of the deformed Virasoro algebra and the fundamental properties of the Verma module.
Rosso and Green have shown how to embed the positive part $U_q(n)$ of a quantum enveloping algebra $U_q(g)$ in a quantum shuffle algebra. In this paper we study some properties of the image of the dual canonical basis $B^*$ of $U_q(n)$ under this embedding $Φ$. This is motivated by the fact that when $g$ is of type $A_r$, the elements of $Φ(B^*)$ are $q$-analogues of irreducible characters of the affine Iwahori-Hecke algebras attached to the groups $GL(m)$ over a $p$-adic field.
The purpose of this thesis is to present certain viewpoints on the geometric representation theory of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, in relation to the Maulik-Okounkov stable basis. Our main technical tool is the shuffle algebra, which arises as the K-theoretic Hall algebra of the double cyclic quiver. We prove the isomorphism between the shuffle algebra and the quantum toroidal algebra U_{q,t}(sl_n^^), and identify the quotients of Verma modules for the shuffle algebra with the K-theory groups of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, which were studied by Nakajima and Varagnolo-Vasserot. The s…
The first goal of this note is to extend the well-known Feigin homomorphisms taking quantum groups to quantum polynomial algebras. More precisely, we define generalized Feigin homomorphisms from a quantum shuffle algebra to quantum polynomial algebras which extend the classical Feigin homomorphisms along the embedding of the quantum group into said quantum shuffle algebra. In a recent work of Berenstein and the author, analogous extensions of Feigin homomorphisms from the dual Hall-Ringel algebra of a valued quiver to quantum polynomial algebras were defined. To relate these constructions, we …
