The metric dimension is quite a well-studied graph parameter. Recently, the adjacency dimension and the local metric dimension have been introduced and studied. In this paper, we give a general formula for the local metric dimension of the lexicographic product $G \circ \mathcal{H}$ of a connected graph $G$ of order $n$ and a family $\mathcal{H}$ composed by $n$ graphs. We show that the local metric dimension of $G \circ \mathcal{H}$ can be expressed in terms of the true twin equivalence classes of $G$ and the local adjacency dimension of the graphs in $\mathcal{H}$.

We investigate when the independence complex of $G[H]$, the lexicographical product of two graphs $G$ and $H$, is either vertex decomposable or shellable. As an application, we construct an infinite family of graphs with the property that every graph in this family has the property that the independence complex of each graph is shellable, but not vertex decomposable.

In this paper we begin an exploration of several domination-related parameters (among which are the total, restrained, total restrained, paired, outer connected and total outer connected domination numbers) in the generalized lexicographic product (GLP for short) of graphs. A simple graph G is said to be well-f-covered, whenever any two maximal induced forest in G be of the same order. In this note, well-f-coveredness of lexicographic product of two graphs in case where the first component is empty, is characterized. In cases where the second component is empty, and the second component is nonempty, a necessary condition is given, and in each one, by an example, it is shown that the given condition is not sufficient.

The packing chromatic number $χ_ρ(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the smallest integer $k$ such that there exists a $k$-vertex coloring of $G$ in which any two vertices receiving color $i$ are at distance at least $i+1$. In this short note we present upper and lower bound for the packing chromatic number of the lexicographic product $G\circ H$ of graphs $G$ and $H$. Both bounds coincide in many cases. In particular this happens if $|V(H)|-α(H)\geq {\rm diam}(G)-1$, where $α(G)$ denotes the independence number of $G$.

The generalized $k$-connectivity $κ_k(G)$ of a graph $G$, introduced by Chartrand et al., is a natural and nice generalization of the concept of (vertex-)connectivity. In this paper, we prove that for any two connected graphs $G$ and $H$, $κ_3(G\circ H)\geq κ_3(G)|V(H)|$. We also give upper bounds for $κ_3(G\Box H)$ and $κ_3(G\circ H)$. We use the theory of lexicographic shellability to provide various examples in which the rank of the homology of a Rees product of two partially ordered sets enumerates some set of combinatorial objects, perhaps according to some natural statistic on the set. Many of these examples generalize a result of J. Jonsson, which says that the rank of the unique nontrivial homology group of the Rees product of a truncated Boolean algebra of degree $n$ and a chain of length $n-1$ is the number of derangements in $§_n$.\

We introduce a technique for establishing and amplifying gaps between parameters of network coding and index coding. The technique uses linear programs to establish separations between combinatorial and coding-theoretic parameters and applies hypergraph lexicographic products to amplify these separations. This entails combining the dual solutions of the lexicographic multiplicands and proving that they are a valid dual of the product. Very recently, a bond-additive topological descriptor, known as the Mostar index, has been proposed as a measure of peripherality in graphs and networks. In this article, we compute the Mostar index of corona product, Cartesian product, join, lexicographic product, Indu-Bala product and subdivision vertex-edge join of graphs and apply these results to find the Mostar index of various classes of chemical graphs and nanostructures.
