In this present work, we try to build up a cosmological model using a non-canonical scalar field within the framework of a spatially flat FRW space-time. In this context, we have considered four different parametrizations of the equation of state parameter of the non-canonical scalar field. Under this scenario, analytical solutions for various cosmological parameters have been found out. It has been found that the deceleration parameter shows a smooth transition from a positive value to some negative value which indicates that the universe was undergoing an early deceleration followed by late time acceleration which is essential for the structure formation of the universe. With these four parametrizations, the future evolution of the models are also discussed. It has been found that one of the models (Generalized Chaplygin gas model, GCG) mimics the concordance $Λ$CDM in the near future, whereas two other models (CPL and JBP) diverge due to future singularity. Finally, we have studied these theoretical models with the latest datasets from SN Ia $+$ $H(z)$ $+$ BAO/CMB.
We propose a new pressure-parametrization model to explain the accelerated expansion of the late-time Universe by considering the dark contents (dark matter and dark energy) as a unified dark fluid. To realize this model more physically, we reconstruct it with the quintessence and phantom scalar fields, respectively. We use the recent cosmological data to constrain this model, distinguish it from the standard cosmological model and find that the value of the Hubble constant $H_0=68.34^{+0.53}_{-0.92}$ supports the global measurement by the Planck satellite at the $1σ$ confidence level.
We explore non-canonical scalar field model in the background of non-flat $D$-dimensional fractal Universe with cosmological constant $Λ$ on the condition that the matter and scalar field are separately conserved. The potential $V$, scalar field $ϕ$, function $f$, densities, Hubble parameter and deceleration parameter can be expressed in terms of the redshift $z$ and these depend on the equation of state parameter $w_ϕ$. We also investigate four kinds of well known parametrization models and graphically we have analyzed the natures of potential, scalar field, function $f$, densities, the Hubbl…
We further investigate slowing down of acceleration of the universe scenario for five parametrizations of the equation of state of dark energy using four sets of supernovae data. In a maximal probability analysis we also use the baryon acoustic oscillation and cosmic microwave background observations. We found the low redshift transition of the deceleration parameter appears, independently of the parametrization, using supernovae data alone except for the Union 2.1 sample. This feature disappears once we combine the supernova data with high redshift data. We conclude that the rapid variation o…
We introduce a new parametrization for the dark energy, led by the same idea to the linear expansion of the equation of state in scale factor $a$ and in redshift $z$, which diverges neither in the past nor future and contains the same number of degrees of freedom with the former two. We present constraints of the cosmological parameters using the most updated baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) measurements along with cosmic microwave background (CMB) data and a recent reanalysis of Type Ia supernova (SN) data. This new parametrization allowed us to carry out successive observational analyses by…
We propose a model-independent parametrization of dark energy motivated by thermodynamics. To this aim, we consider Padé polynomials to reconstruct the form of deceleration parameter adequate to describe different epochs of cosmic history and divergence-free in the far future. The proposed scenario also fulfills the demand of structure formation and contains the $Λ$CDM model as a limiting case. Thus, a numerical analysis at both background and perturbation levels is performed through the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method in view of the most recent cosmic data. We then use the observational const…
In this paper, we have considered a spatially flat FRW universe filled with pressureless matter and dark energy. We have considered a phenomenological parametrization of the deceleration parameter $q(z)$ and from this we have reconstructed the equation of state for dark energy $ω_ϕ(z)$. This divergence free parametrization of the deceleration parameter is inspired from one of the most popular parametrization of the dark energy equation of state given by Barboza and Alcaniz. Using the combination of datasets (SN Ia $+$ Hubble $+$ BAO/CMB), we have constrained the transition redshift $z_{t}$ (at…
We examine the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) parametrization, in the context of quintessence and barotropic dark energy models, to determine the subset of such models to which it can provide a good fit. The CPL parametrization gives the equation of state parameter $w$ for the dark energy as a linear function of the scale factor $a$, namely $w = w_0 + w_a(1-a)$. In the case of quintessence models, we find that over most of the $w_0$, $w_a$ parameter space the CPL parametrization maps onto a fairly narrow form of behavior for the potential $V(ϕ)$, while a one-dimensional subset of parameter s…
Parametrizations of Equation of state parameter as a function of the scale factor or redshift are frequently used in dark energy modeling. The question investigated in this paper is if parametrizations proposed in the literature are compatible with the dark energy being a barotropic fluid. The test of this compatibility is based on the functional form of the speed of sound squared, which for barotropic fluid dark energy follows directly from the function for the Equation of state parameter. The requirement that the speed of sound squared should be between 0 and speed of light squared provides …
The phenomenological parametrizations of dark-energy (DE) equation of state can be very helpful, since they allow for the investigation of its cosmological behavior despite the fact that its underlying theory is unknown. However, although there has been a large amount of research on DE parametrizations which involve two or more free parameters, the one-parameter parametrizations seem to be underestimated. We perform a detailed observational confrontation of five one-parameter DE models, with observational data from cosmic microwave background (CMB), Joint light-curve analysis sample from Super…
The model-independent piecewise parametrizations (0-spline, linear-spline and cubic-spline) are used to estimate constraints of equation of state of dark energy ($w_{de}$) from current observational data (including SNIa, BAO and Hubble parameter) and the simulated future data. A combination of fitting results of $w_{de}$ from these three spline methods reveal essential properties of real equation of state $w_{de}$. It is shown that $w_{de}$ beyond redshift $z\sim0.5$ is poorly constrained from current data, and the mock future $\sim2300$ supernovae data give poor constraints of $w_{de}$ beyond…
In the present work we perform a systematic analysis of a new dark energy parametrization and its various corrections at first and higher orders around the presence epoch $z=0$, where the first order correction of this dark energy parametrization recovers the known Chevallier-Polarski-Linder model. We have considered up to the third order corrections of this parametrization and investigate the models at the level of background and perturbations. The models have been constrained using the latest astronomical datasets from a series of potential astronomical data, such as the cosmic microwave bac…
We perform a detailed confrontation of various oscillating dark-energy parame-trizations with the latest sets of observational data. In particular, we use data from Joint Light Curve analysis (JLA) sample from Supernoave Type Ia, Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) distance measurements, Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) observations, redshift space distortion, weak gravitational lensing, Hubble parameter measurements from cosmic chronometers, and we impose constraints on four oscillating models. From the analyses we find that the best-fit characters of almost all models are bent towards the ph…
The CPL parametrization is very important for investigating the property of dark energy with observational data. However, the CPL parametrization only respects the past evolution of dark energy but does not care about the future evolution of dark energy, since $w(z)$ diverges in the distant future. In a recent paper [J.Z. Ma and X. Zhang, Phys.\ Lett.\ B {\bf 699}, 233 (2011)], a robust, novel parametrization for dark energy, $w(z)=w_0+w_1({\ln (2+z)\over 1+z}-\ln2)$, has been proposed, successfully avoiding the future divergence problem in the CPL parametrization. On the other hand, an oscill…
In the present work, we study the R$\acute{e}$nyi holographic dark energy model (RHDE) in a flat FRW Universe where the infrared cut-off is taken care by the Hubble horizon and also by taking three different parametrizations of the interaction term between the dark matter and the dark energy. Analyzing graphically, the behavior of some cosmological parameters in particular deceleration parameter, equation of state (EoS) parameter, energy density parameter and squared speed of sound, in the process of the cosmic evolution, is found to be leading towards the late-time accelerated expansion of th…
In order to scrutinize the nature of Dark Energy, many Equations of State have been proposed. In this context we examine four popular models (the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) model, Jassal model, Barboza & Alcaniz model and Wetterich model) in the field of quintessence and barotropic dark energy models, to compare with each other. We develop a theoretical method of constructing the quintessence potential directly from the four equations of state which describes the properties of the dark energy.
We propose a new Dark Energy parametrization based on the dynamics of a scalar field. We use an equation of state w=(x-1)/(x+1), with x=E_k/V, the ratio of kinetic energy E_k=\dotphi^2/2 and potential V. The equation of motion gives x=(L/6)(V/3H^2) and has a solution x=([(1+y)^2+2 L/3]^{1/2}-(1+y))/2 where y\equiv \rmm/V and L= (V'/V)^2 (1+q)^2, q=\ddotphi/V'. The resulting EoS is w=[6+ L- 6 \sqrt((1+y)^2+2L/3)]/(L+6y). Since the universe is accelerating at present time we use the slow roll approximation in which case we have |q|<< 1 and L\simeq (V'/V)^2. However, the derivation of w is exact …
We employ the Statefinder hierarchy and the growth rate of matter perturbations to explore the discrimination of $Λ$CDM and some parametrization dark energy models including the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL), the Jassal-Bagla-Padmanabhan (JBP), the Padé(\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral1}), (\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral2}). We find that the statefinder $S_3^{(m)}$ containing third derivatives of $a(t)$ can differentiate CPL and JBP from $Λ$CDM and Padé(\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral1}), (\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral2}). While the statefinder $S_4^{(1)}$ involving fo…
We point out that the CPL parametrization has a problem that the equation of state $w(z)$ diverges in the far future, so that this model can only properly describe the past evolution but cannot depict the future evolution. To overcome such a difficulty, in this Letter we propose two novel parametrizations for dark energy, the logarithm form $w(z)=w_0+w_1({\ln (2+z)\over 1+z}-\ln2)$ and the oscillating form $w(z)=w_0+w_1({\sin(1+z)\over 1+z}-\sin(1))$, successfully avoiding the future divergency problem in the CPL parametrization, and use them to probe the dynamics of dark energy in the whole e…
A new version of tetrad gravity in globally hyperbolic, asymptotically flat at spatial infinity spacetimes with Cauchy surfaces diffeomorphic to $R^3$ is obtained by using a new parametrization of arbitrary cotetrads to define a set of configurational variables to be used in the ADM metric action. Seven of the fourteen first class constraints have the form of the vanishing of canonical momenta. A comparison is made with other models of tetrad gravity and with the ADM canonical formalism for metric gravity.
We develop a theoretical method of constructing the scalar (quintessence or phantom) potential directly from the dimensionless dark energy function X(z), the dark energy density in units of its present value. We apply our method to two parametrizations of the dark energy density, the quiessence-Lambda ansatz and the generalized Chaplygin gas model, and discuss some features of the constructed potentials.
In this work we explore signatures of evolution for the dark energy density $X(z)=ρ_{de}(z)/ρ_{de}(0)$ using latest observations on SNIa and H(z). The models consist of parametrizations of the dark energy density and consequently a reconstruction for the EoS parameter w(z) as a function of redshift. Both parametrization methods using the SH0Es prior results in a small deviation from LCDM at 1$σ$ for $X(z)$. Extending the analysis up to 2$σ$, the evidence for evolution of $X(z)$ dilute in both cases. We have also studied an interacting dark model where this trend is also found.
Understanding the nature of dark energy is one of the most outstanding problems in cosmology at present. In last twenty years, cosmological observations related to SNIa, Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation, Baryon Acoustic Oscillations etc, have put stringent constraints on the the dark energy evolution, still there is enough uncertainty in our knowledge about dark energy that demands new generation of cosmological observations. Post-reionization neutral hydrogen 21 cm intensity mapping surveys are one of the most promising future cosmological observations that have the potential to map the …
Dark energy equation of state $w(z)$ parametrizations with two parameters and given monotonicity are generically either convex or concave functions. This makes them suitable for fitting either freezing or thawing quintessence models but not both simultaneously. Fitting a dataset based on a freezing model with an unsuitable (concave when increasing) $w(z)$ parametrization (like CPL) can lead to significant misleading features like crossing of the phantom divide line, incorrect $w(z=0)$, incorrect slope \etc that are not present in the underlying cosmological model. To demonstrate this fact we g…
We introduce a new version of the Integrated Software in Testing General Relativity (ISiTGR) which is a patch to the software CAMB and CosmoMC. ISiTGR is intended to test deviations from GR at cosmological scales using cosmological data sets. While doing so, it allows for various extensions to the standard flat $Λ$CDM model. In this new release, we have support for the following: 1) dynamical dark energy parametrizations with a constant or time-dependent equation of state; 2) a consistent implementation of anisotropic shear to model massive neutrinos throughout the full formalism; 3) multiple …
We explore the cosmological consequences of the recently released Union2 sample of 557 Type Ia supernovae (SNIa). Combining this latest SNIa dataset with the Cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy data from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe 7 year (WMAP7) observations and the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) results from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7 (DR7), we measure the dark energy density function $f(z)\equiv ρ_{de}(z)/ρ_{de}(0)$ as a free function of redshift. Two model-independent parametrization methods (the binned parametrization and the polynomial int…
We examine in some detail the influence of the systematics in different data sets including type Ia supernova sample, baryon acoustic oscillation data and the cosmic microwave background information on the fitting results of the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder parametrization. We find that the systematics in the data sets does influence the fitting results and leads to different evolutional behavior of dark energy. To check the versatility of Chevallier-Polarski-Linder parametrization, we also perform the analysis on the Wetterich parametrization of dark energy. The results show that both the param…
The current paper provides a comprehensive examination of a dark energy cosmological model in the classical regime, in which a generic scalar field is regarded as a dark energy source. Einstein's field equations are solved in model independent way i.e. using a scheme of cosmological parametrization. A parametrization of the density parameter as a function of the cosmic scale factor has been investigated in this line. The result is noteworthy because it shows a smooth transition from a decelerating to an accelerating phase in the recent past. The model parameters involved in the functional form…
In this work it is investigated general models with interactions between two canonical scalar fields and between one non-canonical (tachyon-type) and one canonical scalar field. The potentials and couplings to the gravity are selected through the Noether symmetry approach. These general models are employed to describe interactions between dark energy and dark matter, with the fields being constrained by the astronomical data. The cosmological solutions of some cases are compared with the observed evolution of the late Universe.
We study the linear growth function $f$ for large scale structures in a cosmological scenario where Generalised Chaplygin Gas (GCG) serves as dark energy candidate. We parametrize the growth index parameter as a function of redshift and do a comparative study between the theoretical growth rate and the proposed parametrization. Moreover, we demonstrate that growth rates for a wide range of dark energy models can be modeled accurately by our proposed parametrization. Finally, we compile a data set consisting of 28 data points within redshift range (0.15,3.8) to constrain the growth rate. It inc…
We place observational constraints on models with the late-time cosmic acceleration based on a number of parametrizations allowing fast transitions for the equation of state of dark energy. In addition to the model of Linder and Huterer where the dark energy equation of state $w$ monotonically grows or decreases in time, we propose two new parametrizations in which $w$ has an extremum. We carry out the likelihood analysis with the three parametrizations by using the observational data of supernovae type Ia, cosmic microwave background, and baryon acoustic oscillations. Although the transient c…
We show that a canonical scalar field with a phenomenological form of energy density or equivalently an equation of state parameter can provide the required transition from decelerated ($q>0$) to accelerated expansion ($q<0$) phase of the universe. We have used the latest Type Ia Supernova (SNIa) and Hubble parameter datasets to constrain the model parameters. It has been found that for each of these dataset, the transition in deceleration parameter $q$ takes place at the recent past ($z<1$). The future evolution of $q$ is also discussed in the context of the model under consideration. Further…
We propose a new Dark Energy parametrization based on the dynamics of a scalar field. We use an equation of state $w=(x-1)/(x+1)$, with $x=E_k/V$, the ratio of kinetic energy $E_k=\dotϕ^2/2$ and potential $V$. The eq. of motion gives $x=(L/6)(V/3H^2)$ and with a solution $x=([1+2 L/3(1+y)]^{1/2}-1)(1+y)/2$ where $y\equiv \rm/V$ and $L\equiv (V'/V)^2 (1+q)^2,\, q\equiv\ddot\p/V'$. Since the universe is accelerating at present time we use the slow roll approximation in which case we have $|q|\ll 1$ and $L\simeq (V'/V)^2$. However, the derivation of $L$ is exact and has no approximation. By choos…
Future singularities arising in a family of models for the expanding Universe, characterized by sharing a convenient parametrization of the energy budget in terms of the deceleration parameter, are classified. Finite-time future singularities are known to appear in many cosmological scenarios, in particular, in the presence of viscosity or non-gravitational interactions, the last being known to be able to suppress or just change in some cases the type of the cosmological singularity. Here, a family of models with a parametrization of the energy budget in terms of the deceleration parameter are…

We study a unification model for dark energy, dark matter, and inflation with a single scalar field with non canonical kinetic term. In this model the kinetic term of the Lagrangian accounts for the dark matter and dark energy, and at early epochs a quadratic potential accounts for slow roll inflation. The present work is an extension to the work by Bose and Majumdar [1] with a more general kinetic term that was proposed by Chimento in [2]. We demonstrate that the model is viable at the background and linear perturbation levels.
Observations of high-redshift supernovae indicate that the universe is accelerating at the present stage, and we refer to the cause for this cosmic acceleration as ``dark energy''. In particular, the analysis of current data of type Ia supernovae (SNIa), cosmic large-scale structure (LSS), and the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy implies that, with some possibility, the equation-of-state parameter of dark energy may cross the cosmological-constant boundary ($w=-1$) during the recent evolution stage. The model of ``quintom'' has been proposed to describe this $w=-1$ crossing behavio…
We explore the ultimate fate of the Universe by using a divergence-free parametrization for dark energy $w(z)=w_0+w_a({\ln (2+z)\over 1+z}-\ln2)$. Unlike the CPL parametrization, this parametrization has well behaved, bounded behavior for both high redshifts and negative redshifts, and thus can genuinely cover many theoretical dark energy models. After constraining the parameter space of this parametrization by using the current cosmological observations, we find that, at the 95.4% confidence level, our Universe can still exist at least 16.7 Gyr before it ends in a big rip. Moreover, for the p…
In this work, FRW universe filled with dark matter (perfect fluid with negligible pressure) along with dark energy in the background of Galileon gravity is considered. Four dark energy models with different EoS parametrizations have been employed namely, Linear, CPL, JBP and Logarithmic parametrizations. From Stern, Stern+BAO and Stern+BAO+CMB joint data analysis, we have obtained the bounds of the arbitrary parameters $ω_{0}$ and $ω_{1}$ by minimizing the $χ^{2}$ test. The best-fit values and bounds of the parameters are obtained at 66\%, 90\% and 99\% confidence levels which are shown by clo…
Last years a certain attention was attracted to the statement that Hamiltonian formulations of General Relativity, in which different parametrizations of gravitational variables were used, may not be related by a canonical transformation. The example was given by the Hamiltonian formulation of Dirac and that of Arnowitt - Deser - Misner. It might witness for non-equivalence of these formulations and the original (Lagrangian) formulation of General Relativity. The problem is believed to be of importance since many authors make use of various representations of gravitational field as a starting …

In the context of cosmography approach and using the data of Hubble diagram for supernovae, quasars and gamma-ray bursts, we study some DE parametrizations and also the concordance $Λ$CDM universe. Using the different combinations of data sample including ({\it i}) supernovae (Pantheon), ({\it ii}) Pantheon + quasars and ({\it iii}) Pantheon + quasars + gamma-ray bursts and applying the minimization of $χ^2$ function of distance modulus of data samples in the context of Markov Chain Monte Carlo method, we first obtain the constrained values of the cosmographic parameters in model independent c…
