Parametrizations of Equation of state parameter as a function of the scale factor or redshift are frequently used in dark energy modeling. The question investigated in this paper is if parametrizations proposed in the literature are compatible with the dark energy being a barotropic fluid. The test of this compatibility is based on the functional form of the speed of sound squared, which for barotropic fluid dark energy follows directly from the function for the Equation of state parameter. The requirement that the speed of sound squared should be between 0 and speed of light squared provides constraints on model parameters using analytical and numerical methods. It is found that this fundamental requirement eliminates a large number of parametrizations as barotropic fluid dark energy models and puts strong constraints on parameters of other dark energy parametrizations.
We examine the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) parametrization, in the context of quintessence and barotropic dark energy models, to determine the subset of such models to which it can provide a good fit. The CPL parametrization gives the equation of state parameter $w$ for the dark energy as a linear function of the scale factor $a$, namely $w = w_0 + w_a(1-a)$. In the case of quintessence models, we find that over most of the $w_0$, $w_a$ parameter space the CPL parametrization maps onto a fairly narrow form of behavior for the potential $V(ϕ)$, while a one-dimensional subset of parameter s…
In order to scrutinize the nature of Dark Energy, many Equations of State have been proposed. In this context we examine four popular models (the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) model, Jassal model, Barboza & Alcaniz model and Wetterich model) in the field of quintessence and barotropic dark energy models, to compare with each other. We develop a theoretical method of constructing the quintessence potential directly from the four equations of state which describes the properties of the dark energy.
In this paper, we propose a new phenomenological two parameter parametrization of $q(z)$ to constrain barotropic dark energy models by considering a spatially flat FRW universe, neglecting the radiation component, and reconstructing the effective equation of state (EoS). This two free-parameter EoS reconstruction shows a non-monotonic behavior, pointing to a more general fitting for the scalar field models, like thawing and freezing models. We constrain the $q(z)$ free parameters using the observational data of the Hubble parameter obtained from cosmic chronometers, the joint-light-analysis ty…
In this paper, we consider Universe filled with two-component fluid. We study two different models. In the first model we assume barotropic fluid with the linear equation of state as the first component of total fluid. In the second model we assume Van der Waals gas as the first component of total fluid. In both models, the second component assumed generalized ghost dark energy. We consider also interaction between component and discuss, numerically, cosmological quantities for two different parametrization of EoS which varies with time. We consider this as a toy model of our Universe. We fix …
Unimodular gravity is an appealing approach to address the cosmological constant problem. In this scenario, the vacuum energy density of quantum fields does not gravitate and the cosmological constant appears merely as an integration constant. Recently, it has been shown that energy diffusion that may arise in quantum gravity and in theories with spontaneous collapse is compatible with this framework by virtue of its restricted diffeomorphism invariance. New studies suggest that this phenomenon could lead to higher-order equations in the context of homogeneous and isotropic Universe, affecting…
In this paper, we have considered a spatially flat FRW universe filled with pressureless matter and dark energy. We have considered a phenomenological parametrization of the deceleration parameter $q(z)$ and from this we have reconstructed the equation of state for dark energy $ω_ϕ(z)$. This divergence free parametrization of the deceleration parameter is inspired from one of the most popular parametrization of the dark energy equation of state given by Barboza and Alcaniz. Using the combination of datasets (SN Ia $+$ Hubble $+$ BAO/CMB), we have constrained the transition redshift $z_{t}$ (at…
We study the late-time evolution of the Universe where dark energy (DE) is presented by a barotropic fluid on top of cold dark matter (CDM). We also take into account the radiation content of the Universe. Here by the late stage of the evolution we refer to the epoch where CDM is already clustered into inhomogeneously distributed discrete structures (galaxies, groups and clusters of galaxies). Under this condition the mechanical approach is an adequate tool to study the Universe deep inside the cell of uniformity. More precisely, we study scalar perturbations of the FLRW metric due to inhomoge…
We show that the dark energy effects can be modeled by using an \emph{Ising perfect fluid} with network interactions, whose low redshift equation of state, i.e. $ω_0$, becomes $ω_0=-1$ as in the $Λ$CDM model. In our picture, dark energy is characterized by a barotropic fluid on a lattice in the equilibrium configuration. Thus, mimicking the spin interaction by replacing the spin variable with an occupational number, the pressure naturally becomes negative. We find that the corresponding equation of state mimics the effects of a variable dark energy term, whose limiting case reduces to the cosm…
An approach to estimate the spatial curvature $Ω_k$ from data independently of dynamical models is suggested, through kinematic parameterizations of the comoving distance ($D_{C}(z)$) with third degree polynomial, of the Hubble parameter ($H(z)$) with a second degree polynomial and of the deceleration parameter ($q(z)$) with first order polynomial. All these parameterizations were done as function of redshift $z$. We used SNe Ia dataset from Pantheon compilation with 1048 distance moduli estimated in the range $0.01<z<2.3$ with systematic and statistical errors and a compilation of 31 $H(z)$ d…
We study the cosmological evolution based upon a $D$-dimensional action in low-energy effective string theory in the presence of second-order curvature corrections and a modulus scalar field (dilaton or compactification modulus). A barotropic perfect fluid coupled to the scalar field is also allowed. Phase space analysis and the stability of asymptotic solutions are performed for a number of models which include ($i$) fixed scalar field, ($ii$) linear dilaton in string frame, and ($iii$) logarithmic modulus in Einstein frame. We confront analytical solutions with observational constraints for …
In this paper, the viscous cosmological dynamics are studied in the presence of dark matter Bose-Einstein Condensation (BEC) by curved-FRW background. For this purpose, we use the BEC regime rather than the normal dark matter (the cold dark matter or the barotropic dark matter) with the dark matter Equation of State (EoS) as $p_{dm} \propto ρ_{dm}^2$, which arises from the gravitational form. Therefore, we obtain the corresponding continuity equations with the existence of the universe components by considering an interacting model with modified Chaplygin gas. Afterward, we derive the energy d…
We propose a method to relate the holographic minimal information density to the de Broglie's wavelength at a given universe temperature $T$. To figure this out, we assume that the thermal length of massive and massless constituents represents the cut-off scale of the holographic principle. To perform our analysis, we suppose two plausible universe volumes, i.e. the adiabatic and the horizon volumes, i.e. $V \propto a^3$ and $V \propto H^{-3}$ respectively, assuming zero spatial curvature. With these choices in mind, we evaluate the thermal lengths for massive and massless particles and we thu…
In the studies on pre-recombination early dark energy (EDE), the evolution of Universe after recombination is usually regarded as $ΛCDM$-like, which corresponds that the equation of state of dark energy responsible for current accelerated expansion is $w=-1$. However, in realistic models, $w$ might be evolving. We consider the parametrizations of $w$ with respect to the redshift $z$ in Axion-like EDE and AdS-EDE models, respectively. We performed the Monte Carlo Markov chain analysis with recent cosmological data, and found that the bestfit $w(z)$ is compatible with $w_0=-1,w_a=0$ (the cosmolo…
We here propose a new class of barotropic factor for matter, motivated by properties of isotropic deformations of crystalline solids. Our approach is dubbed Anton-Schmidt's equation of state and provides a non-vanishing, albeit small, pressure term for matter. The corresponding pressure is thus proportional to the logarithm of universe's volume, i.e. to the density itself since $V\propto ρ^{-1}$. In the context of solid state physics, we demonstrate that by only invoking standard matter with such a property, we are able to frame the universe speed up in a suitable way, without invoking a dark …
We construct a cosmological model which is physically reasonable, mathematically tractable, and extends the study of CDM models to the case where the equations of state (EoS) for matter and dark energy (DE) vary with time. It is based on the assumptions of (i) flatness, (ii) validity of general relativity, (iii) the presence of a DE component that varies between two asymptotic values, (iv) the matter of the universe smoothly evolves from an initial radiation stage - or a barotropic perfect fluid - to a phase where it behaves as cosmological dust at late times. The model approximates the CDM on…
We reconstruct in this paper the deceleration and jerk parameters as functions of the cosmological redshift from data on cosmic chronometers (CCH), baryon acoustic oscillations (BAOs), and the Pantheon+MCT compilation of supernovae of Type Ia (SnIa). The reconstruction is carried out with the Weighted Function Regression method, previously introduced by Gómez-Valent & Amendola (2018). It improves the usual cosmographic approach by automatically implementing Occam's razor criterion. This makes our procedure to be more free of model and parametrization dependencies than many other analyses in th…
We study the entropy-corrected version of the new agegraphic dark energy (NADE) model and dark matter in a spatially non-flat Universe and in the framework of Hořava-Lifshitz cosmology. For the two cases containing noninteracting and interacting entropy-corrected NADE (ECNADE) models, we derive the exact differential equation that determines the evolution of the ECNADE density parameter. Also the deceleration parameter is obtained. Furthermore, using a parametrization of the equation of state parameter of the ECNADE model as $ω_Λ(z)=ω_0+ω_1 z$, we obtain both $ω_0$ and $ω_1$. We find that in t…
