Let $\mathbb F$ be a finite field and let $\mathcal A$ and $\mathcal B$ be vector spaces of $\mathbb F$-valued continuous functions defined on locally compact spaces $X$ and $Y$, respectively. We look at the representation of linear bijections $H:\mathcal A\longrightarrow \mathcal B$ by continuous functions $h:Y\longrightarrow X$ as weighted composition operators. In order to do it, we extend the notion of Hamming metric to infinite spaces. Our main result establishes that under some mild conditions, every Hamming isometry can be represented as a weighted composition operator. Connections to coding theory are also highlighted.
Let $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ be standard operator algebras on Banach spaces $\mathcal{X}$ and $\mathcal{Y}$, respectively. In this paper, we show that every bijection completely preserving quadratic operators from $\mathcal{A}$ onto $\mathcal{B}$ is either an isomorphism or (in the complex case) a conjugate isomorphism.
In this paper we consider power means of positive Hilbert space operators both in the conventional and in the Kubo-Ando senses. We describe the corresponding isomorphisms (bijective transformations respecting those means as binary operations) on positive definite cones and on positive semidefinite cones in operator algebras. We also investigate the question when those two sorts of power means can be transformed into each other.
We discuss an extension of Toeplitz quantization based on polyanalytic functions. We derive isomorphism theorem for polyanalytic Toeplitz operators between weighted Sobolev-Fock spaces of polyanalytic functions, which are images of modulation spaces under polyanalytic Bargmann transforms. This generalizes well-known results from the analytic setting. Finally, we derive an asymptotic symbol calculus and present an asymptotic expansion of complex Weyl operators in terms of polyanalytic Toeplitz operators.
The goal of this paper is to study band-dominated operators on Banach spaces with Schauder basis with respect to uniformly locally finite metric spaces as well as the Banach algebras generated by them: the so called uniform Roe algebras. We investigate several kinds of isomorphisms between those Banach spaces (e.g., isomorphisms preserving norm, order, algebraic structure, etc) and prove several rigidity results on when a certain kind of isomorphism between the uniform Roe algebras implies that the base metric spaces are (bijectively) coarsely equivalent.
In this paper, we first show that for a Banach space $X$ there is a fully order reversing mapping $T$ from ${\rm conv}(X)$ (the cone of all extended real-valued lower semicontinuous proper convex functions defined on $X$) onto itself if and only if $X$ is reflexive and linearly isomorphic to its dual $X^*$. Then we further prove the following generalized ``Artstein-Avidan-Milman'' representation theorem: For every fully order reversing mapping $T:{\rm conv}(X)\rightarrow {\rm conv}(X)$ there exist a linear isomorphism $U:X\rightarrow X^*$, $x_0^*, \;φ_0\in X^*$, $α>0$ and $r_0\in\mathbb R$ so …
Let $e$ and $v$ be minimal tripotents in a JBW$^*$-triple $M$. We introduce the notion of triple transition pseudo-probability from $e$ to $v$ as the complex number $TTP(e,v)= φ_v(e),$ where $φ_v$ is the unique extreme point of the closed unit ball of $M_*$ at which $v$ attains its norm. In the case of two minimal projections in a von Neumann algebra, this correspond to the usual transition probability. We prove that every bijective transformation $Φ$ preserving triple transition pseudo-probabilities between the lattices of tripotents of two atomic JBW$^*$-triples $M$ and $N$ admits an extensi…

We investigate continuous linear operators, which commute with the generalized backward shift operator (a one-dimensional perturbation of the Pommiez operator) in a countable inductive limit $E$ of weighted Banach spaces of entire functions. This space E is isomorphic with the help of the Fourier-Laplace transform to the strong dual of the Fréchet space of all holomorphic functions on a convex domain Q in the complex plane, containing the origin. Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained that an operator of the mentioned commutant is a topological isomorphism of E. The problem of the fa…
