In this paper we investigate the structure of $\left(\frac{a,b}{\Z{n}}\right)$, the quaternion rings over $\Z{n}$. It is proved that these rings are isomorphic to $\left(\frac{-1,-1}{\Z{n}}\right)$ if $ a \equiv b\equiv -1 \pmod{4}$ or to $\left(\frac{1,1}{\Z{n}}\right)$ otherwise. We also prove that the ring $\left(\frac{a,b}{\Z{n}}\right)$ is isomorphic to $\mathbb{M}_2(\Z{n})$ if and only if $n$ is odd and that all quaternion algebras defined over $\Z{n}$ are isomorphic if and only if $n \not \equiv 0 \pmod{4}$.
In this article we give various formulates for compute the number of all coninvolutions over the group of upper triangular matrix with entries into the ring of Gaussian integers module $p$ and the ring of Quaternions integers module $p$, with $p$ an odd prime number.
We prove a Nullstellensatz for the ring of polynomial functions in n non-commuting variables over Hamilton's ring of real quaternions. We also characterize the generalized polynomial identities in n variables which hold over the quaternions, and more generally, over any division algebra.
It is shown in this paper that, if $R$ is a Frobenius ring, then the quaternion ring $\mathcal{H}_{a,b}(R)$ is a Frobenius ring for all units $a,b \in R$. In particular, if $q$ is an odd prime power then $\mathcal{H}_{a,b}(\mathbb{F}_q)$ is the semisimple non-commutative matrix ring $M_2(\mathbb{F}_q)$. Consequently, a homogeneous weight that depends on the field size $q$ is obtained. On the other hand, the homogeneous weight of a finite Frobenius ring with a unique minimal ideal is derived in terms of the size of the ideal. This is illustrated by the quaternions over the Galois ring $GR(2^r,m…
We provide a nontrivial bound on the rank of any tensor $T$ over the quaternions $\mathbb{H}$ in the $n_1\times n_2\times n_3$ cases where $2\leq n_i\leq 3$. We describe a decomposition of $T$ into $3$ simple tensors in the $2\times 2\times 2$ case. We also show that the upper bound is the best possible for some of the cases, and we provide various partial results involving tensor decompositions over $\mathbb{C}$ and $\mathbb{H}$.
We introduce a class of rings using which we define the concept of skew regularity for quaternion-valued functions over quaternions. It is shown that the notion of skew regularity coincides with the concept of slice regularity over symmetric slice domains. Known results regarding slice-regular functions over symmetric slice domains are generalized to skew-regular functions over general symmetric domains. Furthermore, we present new results concerning slice-regular functions.
Let $R$ be an associative ring with ${\bf 1}$ which is not commutative. Assume that any non-zero commutator $v\in R$ satisfies: $v^2$ is in the center of $R$ and $v$ is not a zero-divisor. (Note that our assumptions do not include finite dimensionality.) We prove that $R$ has no zero divisors, and that if ${\rm char(R)}\ne 2,$ then the localization of $R$ at its center is a quaternion division algebra.
In this paper, we introduce a method computing the primitive decomposition of idempotents of any semisimple finite group algebra based on its matrix representations and Wedderburn decomposition. Particularly, we use this method to calculate the examples of the dihedral group algebras $\mathbb{C}[D_{2n}]$ and generalized quaternion group algebras $\mathbb{C}[Q_{4m}]$. Inspired by the orthogonality relations of the character tables of these two families of groups, we obtain two sets of trigonometric identities. Furthermore, a group algebra isomorphism between $\mathbb{C}[D_{8}]$ and $\mathbb{C}[…
Let $L$ be a separable quadratic extension of either $\mathbb{Q}$ or $\mathbb{F}_q(t)$. We propose efficient algorithms for finding isomorphisms between quaternion algebras over $L$. Our techniques are based on computing maximal one-sided ideals of the corestriction of a central simple $L$-algebra.
