In this paper we study the local law for eigenvalues of large random regular bipartite graphs with degree growing arbitrarily fast. We prove that the empirical spectral distribution of the adjacency matrix converges to a scaled down copy of the Marchenko - Pastur distribution on intervals of short length.
Let $Γ=(G,σ)$ be a signed graph, where $σ$ is the sign function on the edges of $G$. The adjacency matrix of $Γ=(G, σ)$ is a square matrix $A(Γ)=A(G, σ)=\left(a_{i j}^σ\right)$, where $a_{i j}^σ=σ\left(v_{i} v_{j}\right) a_{i j}$. In this paper, we determine the eigenvalues of the signed complete bipartite graphs. Let $(K_{p, q},σ)$, $p\leq q$, be a signed complete bipartite graph with bipartition $(U_p, V_q)$, where $U_p=\{u_1,u_2,\ldots,u_p\}$ and $V_q=\{v_1,v_2,\ldots,v_q\}$. Let $(K_{p, q},σ)[U_r\cup V_s]$, $r\leq p$ and $s\leq q $, be an induced signed subgraph on minimum vertices $r+s$, …
We determine connected bipartite regular graphs with four distinct adjacency eigenvalues that induce periodic Grover walks, and show that it is only $C_6$. We also show that there are only three kinds of the second largest eigenvalues of bipartite regular periodic graphs with five distinct eigenvalues. Using walk-regularity, we enumerate feasible spectra for such graphs.
We analyse the eigenvalues of Erdös--Rényi random bipartite graphs. In particular, we consider $p$ satisfying $n_{1}p=Ω(\sqrt{n_{1}p}\log^{3}(n_{1})),$ $n_{2}p=Ω(\sqrt{n_{2}p}\log^{3}(n_{2})),$ and let $G\sim G(n_{1},n_{2},p)$. We show that with probability tending to $1$ as $n_{1}$ tends to infinity: $$μ_{2} (A(G))\leq 2[1+o(1)](\sqrt{n_{1}p}+\sqrt{n_{2}p}+\sqrt{(n_{1}+n_{2})p}).$$
A regular bipartite tournament is an orientation of a complete balanced bipartite graph $K_{2n,2n}$ where every vertex has its in- and outdegree both equal to $n$. In 1981, Jackson conjectured that any regular bipartite tournament can be decomposed into Hamilton cycles. We prove this conjecture for all sufficiently large bipartite tournaments. Along the way, we also prove several further results, including a conjecture of Liebenau and Pehova on Hamilton decompositions of dense bipartite digraphs.
Let $X=(V, E)$ be a finite regular graph and $H_t(u, v), \, u, v \in V$, the heat kernel on $X$. We prove that, if the graph $X$ is bipartite and has four distinct Laplacian eigenvalues, the ratio $H_t(u, v)/H_t(u, u), \, u, v \in V,$ is monotonically non-decreasing as a function of $t$. The key to the proof is the fact that such a graph is an incidence graph of a symmetric 2-design.
In this paper, we consider the Hessian matrices $H_Γ$ of the complete and complete bipartite graphs, and the special value of $\tilde H_Γ$ at $x_{i}=1$ for all $x_{i}$. We compute the eigenvalues of $\tilde H_Γ$. We show that one of them is positive and that the others are negative. In other words, the metric with respect to the symmetric matrix $\tilde H_Γ$ is Lorentzian. Hence those Hessian $\det (H_Γ)$ are not identically zero. As an application, we show the strong Lefschetz property for the Artinian Gorenstein algebra associated to the graphic matroids of the complete and complete bipartit…
Let $G$ be a graph of order $n$ and $μ$ be an adjacency eigenvalue of $G$ with multiplicity $k\geq 1$. A star complement $H$ for $μ$ in $G$ is an induced subgraph of $G$ of order $n-k$ with no eigenvalue $μ$, and the vertex subset $X=V(G-H)$ is called a star set for $μ$ in $G$. The study of star complements and star sets provides a strong link between graph structure and linear algebra. In this paper, we study the regular graphs with $K_{t,s}\ (s\geq t\geq 2)$ as a star complement for an eigenvalue $μ$, especially, characterize the case of $t=3$ completely, obtain some properties when $t=s$, a…
We study bipartite distance-regular Cayley graphs with diameter three or four. We give sufficient conditions under which a bipartite Cayley graph can be constructed on the semidirect product of a group -- the part of this bipartite Cayley graph which contains the identity element -- and $\mathbb{Z}_{2}$. We apply this to the case of bipartite distance-regular Cayley graphs with diameter three, and consider cases where the sufficient conditions are not satisfied for some specific groups such as the dihedral group. We also extend a result by Miklavič and Potočnik that relates difference sets to …
In this paper, we show that every bipartite distance-regular Cayley graph with diameter $3$ can be constructed on the semidirect product of a group and $\mathbb{Z}_{2}$, except possibly for one case.
Consider the random process in which the edges of a graph $G$ are added one by one in a random order. A classical result states that if $G$ is the complete graph $K_{2n}$ or the complete bipartite graph $K_{n,n}$, then typically a perfect matching appears at the moment at which the last isolated vertex disappears. We extend this result to arbitrary $k$-regular bipartite graphs $G$ on $2n$ vertices for all $k = ω\left( \frac{n}{\log^{1/3} n} \right)$. Surprisingly, this is not the case for smaller values of $k$. Using a construction due to Goel, Kapralov and Khanna, we show that there exist bip…
Let $b(k,\ell,θ)$ be the maximum number of vertices of valency $k$ in a $(k,\ell)$-semiregular bipartite graph with second largest eigenvalue $θ$. We obtain an upper bound for $b(k,\ell,θ)$ for $0 < θ< \sqrt{k-1} + \sqrt{\ell-1}$. This bound is tight when there exists a distance-biregular graph with particular parameters, and we develop the necessary properties of distance-biregular graphs to prove this.
The reciprocal distance Laplacian matrix of a connected graph $G$ is defined as $RD^L(G)=RT(G)-RD(G)$, where $RT(G)$ is the diagonal matrix of reciprocal distance degrees and $RD(G)$ is the Harary matrix. Since $RD^L(G)$ is a real symmetric matrix, we denote its eigenvalues as $λ_1(RD^L(G))\geq λ_2(RD^L(G))\geq \dots \geq λ_n(RD^L(G))$. The largest eigenvalue $λ_1(RD^L(G))$ of $RD^L(G)$ is called the reciprocal distance Laplacian spectral radius. In this article, we prove that the multiplicity of $n$ as a reciprocal distance Laplacian eigenvalue of $RD^L(G)$ is exactly one less than the number…
