Let $F$ be be an arbitrary field and let $h(n)$ be the Heisenberg algebra of dimension $2n+1$ over $F$. It was shown by Burde that if $F$ has characteristic 0 then the minimum dimension of a faithful $h(n)$-module is $n+2$. We show here that his result remains valid in prime characteristic $p$, as long as $(p,n)\neq (2,1)$.
We construct, as well, various families of faithful irreducible $h(n)$-modules if $F$ has prime characteristic, and classify these when $F$ is algebraically closed. Applications to matrix theory are given.
We defined the hyperelliptic Heisenberg algebra as the Heisenberg subalgebra of a hyperlliptic Krichever-Novikov algebra. Then we gave a explicit irreducibility criteria for $φ$-Verma modules for these algebras.
In this paper, it is proved that all irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over the $\Q$ Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra are of intermediate series (all weight spaces are 1-dimensional).
We study $\mathbb Z$-graded modules of nonzero level with arbitrary weight multiplicities over Heisenberg Lie algebras and the associated generalized loop modules over affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras. We construct new families of such irreducible modules over Heisenberg Lie algebras. Our main result establishes the irreducibility of the corresponding generalized loop modules providing an explicit construction of many new examples of irreducible modules for affine Lie algebras. In particular, to any function $ϕ:\mathbb N\rightarrow \{\pm\}$ we associate a $ϕ$-highest weight module over the Heisen…
A new calculus of planar diagrams involving diagrammatics for biadjoint functors and degenerate affine Hecke algebras is introduced. The calculus leads to an additive monoidal category whose Grothendieck ring contains an integral form of the Heisenberg algebra in infinitely many variables. We construct bases of vector spaces of morphisms between products of generating objects in this category.
In this paper, we consider the modules for the Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and the W algebra $W(2,2)$. We determine the modules whose restriction to the Cartan subalgebra (modulo center) are free of rank $1$ for the two algebras. We also determine the simplicity of these modules. These modules provide new simple modules for the W algebra $W(2,2)$.
In this paper, we determine all simple restricted modules over the mirror Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra ${\mathfrak{D}}$, and the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\bar\mathfrak{D}$ with nonzero level. As applications, we characterize simple Whittaker modules and simple highest weight modules over ${\mathfrak{D}}$. A vertex-algebraic interpretation of our result is the classification of simple weak twisted and untwisted modules over the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex operator algebras $\mathcal V^{c} \cong V_{Vir}^{c}\otimes M(1)$. We also present a few examples of simple restricted ${\mathfrak{D…
We explore the connection between the notion of Hopf category and the categorification of the infinite dimensional Heisenberg algebra via graphical calculus proposed by M.Khovanov. We show that the existence of a Hopf structure on a semisimple symmetric monoidal abelian category implies existence of a categorical action in the sense of Khovanov and thus leads to a strong categorification of this algebra.
To each symmetric graded Frobenius superalgebra we associate a W-algebra. We then define a linear isomorphism between the trace of the Frobenius Heisenberg category and a central reduction of this W-algebra. We conjecture that this is an isomorphism of graded superalgebras.
Let $\mathfrak g(G,λ)$ denote the deformed generalized Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra related to a complex parameter $λ\neq-1$ and an additive subgroup $G$ of $\mathbb C$. For a total order on $G$ that is compatible with addition, a Verma module over $\mathfrak g(G,λ)$ is defined. In this paper, we completely determine the irreducibility of these Verma modules.
We study non-trivial deformations of the natural imbedding of the Lie algebra $\fh_1$ of lower triangular matrices (the Heisenberg Lie algebra) into $gl(3,\mathbb{K})$, where $\mathbb{K}=\mathbb{R}$ or $|mathbb{C}$. Our first result is the calculation of the first cohomology space $H^1(\fh_1;gl(3,\mathbb{K}))$. We prove that there are no obstructions for integrability of infinitesemal deformation and, furthermore, give an explicit formula for the most general deformation.
In this paper, we obtain a class of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded conformal algebras which is induced by Heisenberg-Virasoro conformal algebra. More precisely, we classify $\mathbb{Z}$-graded conformal algebras $\mathcal{A} = \oplus^\infty_{i=-1}\mathcal{A}_i$ satisfying the following conditions, (C1) $\mathcal{A}_0$ is the Heisenberg-Virasoro conformal algebra; C2) Each $\mathcal{A}_i$ for $i\in\mathbb{Z}_{\ge-1}^*$ is an $\mathcal{A}_0$-module of rank one; (C3) $[{X_{-1}}_λX_i]\neq 0$ for $i\ge 0$, where $X_i$ is any one of $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-generators of $\mathcal{A}_i$ for $i\in \mathbb{Z}_{\ge…
In this paper, all irreducible weight modules with finite dimensional weight spaces over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra are determined. There are two different classes of them. One class is formed by simple modules of intermediate series, whose weight spaces are all 1-dimensional; the other class consists of the irreducible highest weight modules and lowest weight modules.
A characterization of the maximal abelian sub-algebras of matrix algebras that are normalized by the canonical representation of a finite Heisenberg group is given. Examples are constructed using a classification result for finite Heisenberg groups.
The Grothendieck groups of the categories of finitely generated modules and finitely generated projective modules over a tower of algebras can be endowed with (co)algebra structures that, in many cases of interest, give rise to a dual pair of Hopf algebras. Moreover, given a dual pair of Hopf algebras, one can construct an algebra called the Heisenberg double, which is a generalization of the classical Heisenberg algebra. The aim of this paper is to study Heisenberg doubles arising from towers of algebras in this manner. First, we develop the basic representation theory of such Heisenberg doub…
2-local derivation is a generalized derivation for a Lie algebra, which plays an important role to the study of local properties of the structure of the Lie algebra. In this paper, we prove that every 2-local derivation on the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra is a derivation.
We explain how the action of the Heisenberg algebra on the space of q-deformed wedges yields the Heisenberg crystal structure on charged multipartitions, by using the boson-fermion correspondence and looking at the action of the Schur functions at q = 0. In addition, we give the explicit formula for computing this crystal in full generality.
We define Whittaker modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and obtain analogues to several results from the classical setting, including a classification of simple Whittaker modules by central characters.
We describe the structure of the irreducible highest weight modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro Lie algebra at level zero. We prove that such a module is either isomorphic to a Verma module or to a quotient of two Verma modules.
The trace (or zeroth Hochschild homology) of Khovanov's Heisenberg category is identified with a quotient of the algebra W_{1+\infty}. This induces an action of W_{1+\infty} on symmetric functions.
We determine the groups of automorphisms and their orbits for nilpotent Lie algebras of class 2 and small dimension, over arbitrary fields (including the characteristic 2 case).
The invariant subalgebra H^+ of the Heisenberg vertex algebra H under its automorphism group Z/2Z was shown by Dong-Nagatomo to be a W-algebra of type W(2,4). Similarly, the rank n Heisenberg vertex algebra H(n) has the orthogonal group O(n) as its automorphism group, and we conjecture that H(n)^{O(n)} is a W-algebra of type W(2,4,6,...,n^2+3n). We prove our conjecture for n=2 and n=3, and we show that this conjecture implies that H(n)^G is strongly finitely generated for any reductive group G\subset O(n).
We show that the support of an irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, which has an infinite dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite dimensional. As a corollary, we obtain that every irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, having a nontrivial finite dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module (and hence is either an irreducible highest or lowest weight module or an irreducible module from the intermediate series
In this paper, we classify all indecomposable Harish-Chandra modules of the intermediate series over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra. Meanwhile, some bosonic modules are also studied.
We introduce a twisted version of the Heisenberg double, constructed from a twisted Hopf algebra and a twisted Hopf pairing. We state a Stone--von Neumann type theorem for a natural Fock space representation of this twisted Heisenberg double and deduce the effect on the algebra of shifting the product and coproduct of the original twisted Hopf algebra. We conclude by showing that the quantum Weyl algebra, quantum Heisenberg algebras, and lattice Heisenberg algebras are all examples of the general construction.
We study the $S_3$-orbifold of a rank three Heisenberg vertex algebras in terms of generators and relations. By using invariant theory we prove that the orbifold algebra has a minimal strongly generating set of vectors whose conformal weights are $1,2,3,4,5,6^2$ (two generators of degree $6$). The structure of the cyclic $\mathbb{Z}_3$-oribifold is determined by similar methods. We also study modular properties of characters of modules for these vertex algebras.
We introduce and study a new class of algebras, which we name \textit{quantum generalized Heisenberg algebras} and denote by $\mathcal{H}_q (f,g)$, related to generalized Heisenberg algebras, but allowing more parameters of freedom, so as to encompass a wider range of applications and include previously studied algebras, such as (generalized) down-up algebras. In particular, our class now includes the enveloping algebra of the $3$-dimensional Heisenberg Lie algebra and its $q$-deformation, neither of which can be realized as a generalized Heisenberg algebra. This paper focuses mostly on the cl…
In this paper we construct the action of Ding-Iohara and shuffle algebras in the sum of localized equivariant K-groups of Hilbert schemes of points on C^2. We show that commutative elements K_i of shuffle algebra act through vertex operators over positive part {h_i}_{i>0} of the Heisenberg algebra in these K-groups. Hence we get the action of Heisenberg algebra itself. Finally, we normalize the basis of the structure sheaves of fixed points in such a way that it corresponds to the basis of Macdonald polynomials in the Fock space k[h_1,h_2,...].
For a finite dimensional Lie algebra $\g$ over a field $\k$ of characteristic zero, the $μ$-function (respectively $μ_{nil}$-function) is defined to be the minimal dimension of $V$ such that $\g$ admits a faithful representation (respectively a faithful nilrepresentation) on $V$. Let $\h_m$ be the Heisenberg Lie algebra of dimension $2m + 1$ and let $\mathfrak{a}_n$ be the abelian Lie algebra of dimension $n$. The aim of this paper is to compute $μ(\h_m \oplus \mathfrak{a}_n)$ and $μ_{nil}(\h_m \oplus \mathfrak{a}_n)$ for all $m,n \in \mathbb{N}$.
We give an explicit description of the trace, or Hochschild homology, of the quantum Heisenberg category defined by Licata and Savage. We also show that as an algebra, it is isomorphic to "half" of a central extension of the elliptic Hall algebra of Burban and Schiffmann, specialized at $σ= \barσ^{-1} = q$. A key step in the proof may be of independent interest: we show that the sum (over $n$) of the Hochschild homologies of the positive affine Hecke algebras $\mathrm{AH}_n^+$ is again an algebra, and that this algebra injects into both the elliptic Hall algebra and the trace of the $q$-Heisen…
In this note we give an account of recent progress on the construction of holomorphic vertex algebras as cyclic orbifolds as well as related topics in lattices and modular categories. We present a novel computation of the Schur indicator of a lattice involution orbifold using finite Heisenberg groups and discriminant forms.
For any additive subgroup $G$ of an arbitrary field $F$ of characteristic zero, there corresponds a generalized Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $L[G]$. Given a total order of $G$ compatible with its group structure, and any $h,h_I,c,c_I,c_{LI}\in F$, a Verma module $M(h,h_I,c,c_I,c_{LI})$ over $L[G]$ is defined. In the this note, the irreducibility of Verma modules $M(h,h_I,c,c_I,c_{LI})$ is completely determined.
This paper is a continuation to understand Heisenberg vertex algebras in terms of moduli spaces of their conformal structures. We study the moduli space of the conformal structures on a Heisenberg vertex algebra that have the standard fixed conformal gradation. As we know in Proposition 3.1 in Sect.3, conformal vectors of the Heisenberg vertex algebra $V_{\hatη}(1,0)$ that have the standard fixed conformal gradation is parameterized by a complex vector $h$ of its weight-one subspace. First, we classify all such conformal structures of the Heisenberg vertex algebra $V_{\hatη}(1,0)$ by describin…
Let $A$ be a finite dimensional hereditary algebra over a finite field, and let $m$ be a fixed integer such that $m=0$ or $m>2$. In the present paper, we first define an algebra $L_m(A)$ associated to $A$, called the $m$-periodic lattice algebra of $A$, and then prove that it is isomorphic to Bridgeland's Hall algebra $\mathcal {D}\mathcal {H}_m(A)$ of $m$-cyclic complexes over projective $A$-modules. Moreover, we show that there is an embedding of the Heisenberg double Hall algebra of $A$ into $\mathcal {D}\mathcal {H}_m(A)$.
We show that subsingular vectors exist in Verma modules over W(2,2), and present a subquotient structure of these modules. We prove conditions for irreducibility of a tensor product of intermediate series module with the highest weight module. Relations to intertwining operators over vertex operator algebra associated to W(2,2) is discussed. Also, we study a tensor product of intermediate series and highest weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, and present series of irreducible modules with infinite-dimensional weight spaces.
We study the representation theory of the N=1 super Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex algebra at level zero, which extends the previous work on the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex algebra arXiv:math/0201314, arXiv:1405.1707 and arXiv:1703.00531 to the super case. We calculated all characters of irreducible highest weight representations by investigating certain Fock space representations. Quite surprisingly, we found that the maximal submodules of certain Verma modules are generated by subsingular vectors. The formulas for singular and subsingular vectors are obtained using screening operators appearing i…
