In this paper we use the formalism of S.Weinberg in order to construct a mathematical model based on the weak decay of hadrons and nuclei. In particular we consider a model which generalizes the weak decay of the nucleus of the cobalt. We associate with this model a Hamiltonian with cutoffs in a Fock space. The Hamiltonian is self-adjoint and has an unique ground state. By using the commutator theory we get a limiting absorption principle from which we deduce that the spectrum of the Hamiltonian is absolutely continuous above the energy of the ground state and below the first threshold.
We give an introduction into some aspects of the emerging mathematical theory of many-body localization (MBL) for disordered quantum spin chains. In particular, we discuss manifestations of MBL such as zero-velocity Lieb-Robinson bounds, quasi-locality of the time evolution of local observables, as well as exponential clustering and low entanglement of eigenstates. Explicit models where such properties have recently been verified are the XY and XXZ spin chain, in each case with disorder introduced in the form of a random exterior field. We introduce these models, state many of the available re…
We review several aspects of Many-Body Localization-like properties exhibited by the disordered XY chains: localization properties of the energy eigenstates and thermal states, propagation bounds of Lieb-Robinson type, decay of correlation functions, absence of particle transport, bounds on the bipartite entanglement, and bounded entanglement growth under the dynamics. We also prove new results on the absence of energy transport and Fock space localization. All these properties are made accessible to mathematical analysis due to the exact mapping of the XY chain to a system of quasi-free fermi…
It is well known that the usual formulation of Elko spinor fields leads to a subtle Lorentz symmetry break encoded in the spin sums. Recently it was proposed a redefinition in the dual structure, along with a given mathematical device, which eliminate the Lorentz breaking term in the spin sums. In this work we delve into the analysis of this mathematical device providing a solid framework to the used method.
The self-avoiding walk, and lattice spin systems such as the $φ^4$ model, are models of interest both in mathematics and in physics. Many of their important mathematical problems remain unsolved, particularly those involving critical exponents. We survey some of these problems, and report on recent advances in their mathematical understanding via a rigorous nonperturbative renormalization group method.
In this paper we advance into a generalized spinor classification, based on the so-called Lounesto's classification. The program developed here is based on an existing freedom on the spinorial dual structures definition, which, in a certain simple physical and mathematical limit, allows us to recover the usual Lounesto's classification. The protocol to be accomplished here gives full consideration in the understanding of the underlying mathematical structure, in order to satisfy the quadratic algebraic relations known as Fierz-Pauli-Kofink identities, and also to provide physical observables. …
A mathematically rigorous relativistic quantum Yang-Mills theory with an arbitrary semisimple compact gauge Lie group is set up in the Hamiltonian canonical formalism. The theory is non-perturbative, without cut-offs, and agrees with the causality and stability principles. This paper presents a fully revised, simplified, and corrected version of the corresponding material in the previous papers DYNIN[11] and [12]. The principal result is established anew: due to the quartic self-interaction term in the Yang-Mills Lagrangian along with the semisimplicity of the gauge group, the quantum Yang-Mil…
The description of bumps in scattering cross-sections by Breit-Wigner amplitudes led in the framework of the mathematical Physics to its formulation as the so-called Resonance-Decay Problem. It consists of a spectraltheoretical component and the connection of this component with the construction of decaying states. First the note quotes a solution for scattering systems, where the absolutely continuous parts of the Hamiltonians are semi-bounded and the scattering matrix is holomorphic in the upper half plane. This result uses the approach developed by Lax and Phillips, where the energy scale i…
We consider general mixed $p$-spin mean field spin glass models and provide a method to prove that the spectral gap of the Dirichlet form associated with the Gibbs measure is of order one at sufficiently high temperature. Our proof is based on an iteration scheme relating the spectral gap of the $N$-spin system to that of suitably conditioned subsystems.
A family of spectral decompositions of the spin-weighted spheroidal wave operator is constructed for complex aspherical parameters with bounded imaginary part. As the operator is not symmetric, its spectrum is complex and Jordan chains may appear. We prove uniform upper bounds for the length of the Jordan chains and the norms of the idempotent operators mapping onto the invariant subspaces. The completeness of the spectral decomposition is proven.
The Bundles of Algebraic and Dirac-Hestenes Spinor Fields
The main objective of this paper is to clarify the ontology of Dirac-Hestenes spinor fields (DHSF) and its relationship with sum of even multivector fields, on a general Riemann-Cartan spacetime admitting a spin structure and to give a mathematically rigorous derivation of the so called Dirac-Hestenes equation (DHE) when spacetime is a Lorentzian. To this aim we introduce the Clifford bundle of multivector fields (Cl(M,g)) and the left (Cl_{ Spin_{1,3} ^{e}}^{l}(M)) and right (Cl_{ Spin_{1,3} ^{e}}^{r}(M)) spin-Clifford bundles on the spin manifold (M,g) The relation between left ideal algebra…
We investigate the concept of $q$-replicated arguments in symmetric functions with its connection to spectral functions of hyperbolic geometry. This construction suffices for vector generation functions in the form of $q$-series, and string theory. We hope that the mathematical side of the construction can be enriched by ideas coming from physics.
We generalize the existing finite-size criteria for spectral gaps of frustration-free spin systems to $D>2$ dimensions. We obtain a local gap threshold of $\frac{3}{n}$, independent of $D$, for nearest-neighbor interactions. The $\frac{1}{n}$ scaling persists for arbitrary finite-range interactions in $\mathbb Z^3$. The key observation is that there is more flexibility in Knabe's combinatorial approach if one employs the operator Cauchy-Schwarz inequality.
We develop a renormalisation group approach to deriving the asymptotics of the spectral gap of the generator of Glauber type dynamics of spin systems with strong correlations (at and near a critical point). In our approach, we derive a spectral gap inequality for the measure recursively in terms of spectral gap inequalities for a sequence of renormalised measures. We apply our method to hierarchical versions of the $4$-dimensional $n$-component $|φ|^4$ model at the critical point and its approach from the high temperature side, and of the $2$-dimensional Sine-Gordon and the Discrete Gaussian m…
The $S=1$ Affleck-Kennedy-Lieb-Tasaki (AKLT) quantum spin chain was the first rigorous example of an isotropic spin system in the Haldane phase. The conjecture that the $S=3/2$ AKLT model on the hexagonal lattice is also in a gapped phase has remained open, despite being a fundamental problem of ongoing relevance to condensed-matter physics and quantum information theory. Here we confirm this conjecture by demonstrating the size-independent lower bound $Δ>0.006$ on the spectral gap of the hexagonal model with periodic boundary conditions in the thermodynamic limit. Our approach consists of two…
