In this paper we will analyse a noncommutative deformation of the ABJM theory in N=1 superspace formalism. We will then analyse the BRST and the anti-BRST symmetries for this deformed ABJM theory, in linear as well as non-linear gauges. We will show that the sum of gauge fixing term and the ghost term for this deformed ABJM theory can be expressed as a combination of the total BRST and the total anti-BRST variation, in Landau and non-linear gauges. We will show that in Landau and Curci-Ferrari gauges this deformed ABJM theory is invariant under a additional set of symmetry transformations. We will also discuss the effect that the addition of a bare mass term has on this theory.
In this paper we analyse the ABJM theory in ${\cal N}=1$ superspace. Firstly we study the linear and non-linear BRST transformations for the ABJM theory. Then we derive the finite field dependent version of these BRST (FFBRST) transformations. Further we show that such FFBRST transformations relate the generating functional in linear gauge to the generating functional in the non-linear gauge of ABJM theory.
In this paper we will analyse the ABJM theory in harmonic superspace. The harmonic superspace variables will be parameterized by the coset $SU(2)/U(1)$ and thus will have manifest $\mathcal{N} =3$ supersymmetry. We will study the quantum gauge transformations and the BRST transformations of this theory in gaugeon formalism. We will use this BRST symmetry to project out the physical sub-space from the total Hilbert space. We will also show that the evolution of the $\mathcal{S}$-matrix is unitary for this ABJM theory in harmonic superspace.
The structures and the associated gauge algebra of ABJM theory in ${\cal N}=1$ superspace are reviewed. We derive the Ward identities of the theory in the class of Lorentz-type gauges at quantum level to justify the renormalizability of the model. We compute the Nielsen identities for the two-point functions of the theory with the help of enlarged BRST transformation. The identities are derived in ABJM theory to ensure the gauge independence of the physical poles of the Green's functions.
In this paper we construct a light-like polygonal Wilson loop in N=6 superspace for ABJM theory. We then use it to obtain constraints on its two- and three-loop bosonic version, by focusing on higher order terms in the $θ$ expansion. The Grassmann expansion of the three-loop answer contains integrals which may be elliptic polylogarithms. Our results take their simplest form when expressed in terms of OSp(6|4) supertwistors.
We construct the classical action of the Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) model in the N=3, d=3 harmonic superspace. In such a formulation three out of six supersymmetries are realized off shell while the other three mix the superfields and close on shell. The superfield action involves two hypermultiplet superfields in the bifundamental representation of the gauge group and two Chern-Simons gauge superfields corresponding to the left and right gauge groups. The N=3 superconformal invariance allows only for a minimal gauge interaction of the hypermultiplets. Amazingly, the correct sex…
In this short note we begin the analysis of deformed integrable Chern-Simons theories. We construct the two loop dilatation operator for the scalar sector of the ABJM theory with $k1 \neq -k2$ and we compute the anomalous dimension of some operators.
We investigate the integrable aspects of the planar $γ$-deformed ABJM theory and propose the twisted asymptotic Bethe ansatz equations. A more general method through a twisted generating functional is discussed, based on which, the asymptotic large L solution of Y-system is modified in order to match the asymptotic Bethe ansatz equations. Several applications of our method were made in the $sl(2)$-like sector and some important examples in $β$-deformed ABJM are presented as well.
We construct ${\cal N}=2,4$ supersymmetric abelian projections of the ${\cal N}=6$ mass-deformed ABJM theory. There are well-defined dual background geometries for the ${\cal N}=2$ abelian theory, while those geometries are unclear for the ${\cal N}=4$ abelian theory. The ${\cal N}=2$ theory is built on the supersymmetric vacua of the mass-deformed ABJM theory, which are proven to have one-to-one correspondence with the ${\mathbb Z}_k$ quotient of Lin-Lunin-Maldacena geometries. We select one special vacuum of the mass-deformed ABJM theory and show that the corresponding geometry is weakly cur…
We exactly compute the partition function for $U(2)_k\times U(2)_{-k}$ ABJM theory on $\mathbb S^3$ deformed by mass $m$ and Fayet-Iliopoulos parameter $ζ$. For $k=1,2$, the partition function has an infinite number of Lee-Yang zeros. For general $k$, in the decompactification limit the theory exhibits a quantum (first-order) phase transition at $m=2ζ$.
When mass-deformed ABJM theory is considered on S(3), the partition function of the theory localises and is given by a matrix model. We solve this model at large-N in the decompactification limit, where the radius of the three-sphere is taken to infinity. In this limit, the theory exhibits a rich phase structure with an infinite number of third-order quantum phase transitions accumulating at strong coupling.
In this paper the free energy of the mass deformed ABJM theory on S^3 in the large N limit is studied. We find a new solution of the large N saddle point equation which exists for an arbitrary value of the mass parameter, and compute the free energies for these solutions. We also show that the solution corresponding to an asymptotically AdS_4 geometry is singular at a certain value of the mass parameter and does not exist over this critical value. It is not clear what the gravity dual of the mass deformed ABJM theory on S^3 for the mass parameter larger than the critical value is.
In this paper, using the localization technique we analyze the large N limit of the mass deformed Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory on the three sphere with a finite mass parameter and finite Chern-Simons levels. We find two different solutions of the saddle point equations in the large N limit. With these solutions we compute the free energy and find that there is a first order phase transition. Our results may predict a phase transition in the dual gravity theory.
In this paper we analyse the ABJM theory on deformed spacetime. We show that this theory reduces to a deformed super-Yang-Mills theory when one of the scalar superfields is given a non-vanishing vacuum expectation value. Our analyse is done in N=1 superspace formulism.
We study Yangian-invariant deformations of scattering amplitudes in 4d N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and 3d N=6 Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory. In particular, we obtain the deformed Grassmannian integral for 4d N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, both in momentum and momentum-twistor space. For 3d ABJM theory, we initiate the study of deformed scattering amplitudes. We investigate general deformations of on-shell diagrams, and find the deformed Grassmannian integral for this theory. We furthermore introduce the algebraic R-matrix construction of deformed Yangian invariants fo…
In this paper we study the thermodynamics of black branes with a modulated complex scalar in the context of bulk and boundary theories. The modulation induces inhomogeneity to the dual field theory, anisotropic pressure, and brane charge to the bulk geometry. The first law of thermodynamics and the Smarr relation are obtained using the off-shell ADT and the reduced action formalisms. We discuss the prescription for the mass of black branes, which relies on relevant and marginal deformations in the dual field theory. One of the cases is the gravity dual to a ABJM model with a sinusoidal mass fu…
We consider real mass and FI deformations of ABJM theory preserving supersymmetry in the large $N$ limit, and compare with holographic results. On the field theory side, the problems amounts to a spectral problem of a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. For certain values of the deformation parameters this is invariant under an antiunitary operator (generalised $\mathcal{PT}$ symmetry), which ensures the partition function remains real and allows us to calculate the free energy using tools from statistical physics. The results obtained are compatible with previous work, the important new feature being …
We give a brief account of the recently proposed N=3 superfield formulation of the N=6, 3D superconformal theory of Aharony et al (ABJM) describing a low-energy limit of the system of multiple M2-branes on the AdS_4 x S^7/Z_k background. This formulation is given in harmonic N=3 superspace and reveals a number of surprising new features. In particular, the sextic scalar potential of ABJM arises at the on-shell component level as the result of eliminating appropriate auxiliary fields, while there is no any explicit superpotential at the off-shell superfield level.
We investigate a mass deformation effect on the renormalized entanglement entropy (REE) near the UV fixed point in (2+1)-dimensional field theory. In the context of the gauge/gravity duality, we use the Lin-Lunin-Maldacena (LLM) geometries corresponding to the vacua of the mass-deformed ABJM theory. We analytically compute the small mass effect for various droplet configurations and show in holographic point of view that the REE is monotonically decreasing, positive, and stationary at the UV fixed point. These properties of the REE in (2+1)-dimensions are consistent with the Zamolodchikov $c$-…
We find a class of new supersymmetric dyonic black holes in four-dimensional maximal gauged supergravity which are asymptotic to the ${\rm SU(3)}\times {\rm U(1)}$ invariant AdS$_4$ Warner vacuum. These black holes can be embedded in eleven-dimensional supergravity where they describe the backreaction of M2-branes wrapped on a Riemann surface. The holographic dual description of these supergravity backgrounds is given by a partial topological twist on a Riemann surface of a three-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=2$ SCFT that is obtained by a mass-deformation of the ABJM theory. We compute explicitly t…
Starting with generic Wess-Zumino type coupling to constant four-form and the dual seven-form field strengths in the ABJM theory, we obtain mass-deformed theories with ${\cal N}=2,4$ supersymmetries. These theories contain massless scalar fields and allow the implementation of the Mukhi-Papageorgakis Higgsing procedure. Using this procedure, we connect the Higgsed theories to three-dimensional mass-deformed SYM theories. These are also connected by the four-dimensional ${\cal N}=1^*,2^*$ mass-deformed SYM theories through dimensional reduction. We classify the three-dimensional mass-deformed S…
We investigate the effect of supersymmetry preserving mass deformation near the UV fixed point represented by the ${\cal N}=6$ ABJM theory. In the context of the gauge/gravity duality, we analytically calculate the leading small mass effect on the renormalized entanglement entropy (REE) for the most general Lin-Lunin-Maldacena (LLM) geometries in the cases of the strip and disk shaped entangling surfaces. Our result shows that the properties of the REE in (2+1)-dimensions are consistent with those of the $c$-function in (1+1)-dimensions. We also discuss the validity of our computations in term…
A massive Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) model in $\mathcal{N} =1$ superspace is analysed by considering a Proca type mass term into the most general Faddeev-Popov action in a covariant gauge. The presence of mass term breaks the original BRST and anti-BRST invariance of the model. Further, the symmetry of the massive ABJM model is restored by extending the BRST and anti-BRST transformations. We show that the supergauge dependence of generating functional for connected diagrams occurs in presence of mass and ghost-anti-ghost condensates in the theory.
We study dual geometries to a deformed ABJM model with spatially dependent source functions at finite temperature. These source functions are proportional to the mass function $m(x)= m_0 \sin k x$ and its derivative $m'(x)$. As dual geometries, we find hairy black branes and AdS solitons corresponding to deconfinement phase and confining phase of the dual field theory, respectively. It turns out that the hairy AdS solitons have lower free energy than the black branes when the Hawking temperature is smaller than the confining scale. Therefore the dual system undergoes the first order phase tran…
We study a deformed $su(m|n)$ algebra on a quantum superspace. Some interesting aspects of the deformed algebra are shown. As an application of the deformed algebra we construct a deformed superconformal algebra. {}From the deformed $su(1|4)$ algebra, we derive deformed Lorentz, translation of Minkowski space, $iso(2,2)$ and its supersymmetric algebras as closed subalgebras with consistent automorphisms.
A quantum deformation of 4-dimensional superconformal algebra realized on quantum superspace is investigated. We study the differential calculus and the action of the quantum generators corresponding to $sl_q(1|4)$ which act on the quantum superspace. We derive deformed $su(1|2,2)$ algebras from the deformed $sl(1|4)$ algebra. Through a contraction procedure we obtain a deformed super-Poincar{é} algebra.
Recently, ${\cal N} =3$ mass-deformed ABJM model with arbitrary mass-function depending on a spatial coordinate was constructed. In addition to the ${\cal N} = 3$ case, we construct lower supersymmetric ${\cal N} =1$ and ${\cal N} =2$ inhomogeneously mass-deformed ABJM (ImABJM) models, which require three and two arbitrary mass-functions, respectively. We also construct general vacuum solutions of the ${\cal N} = 3$ ImABJM model for any periodic mass-function. There are two classes of vacua, which are diagonal type and GRVV type according to reference value of mass-functions. We provide explic…
We present a detailed account and extension of our claim in arXiv:1610.01490. We test the gauge/gravity duality between the ${\cal N} = 6$ mass-deformed ABJM theory with U$_k(N)\times$U$_{-k}(N)$ gauge symmetry and the 11-dimensional supergravity on LLM geometries with SO(4)/${\mathbb Z}_k$ $\times$SO(4)/${\mathbb Z}_k$ isometry, in the large $N$ limit. Our analysis is based on the evaluation of vacuum expectation values of chiral primary operators from the supersymmetric vacua of mass-deformed ABJM theory and from the implementation of Kaluza-Klein holography to the LLM geometries. We focus o…
In this paper we will study non-abelian Chern-Simons theory on a deformed superspace. We will deform the superspace in such a way that it includes the noncommutativity between bosonic and fermionic coordinates. We will first analyse the BRST and the anti-BRST symmetries of the Chern-Simons theory on this deformed superspace. Then we will analyse the extended BRST and the extended anti-BRST symmetries of this theory in the Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) formalism. Finally, we will express these extended BRST and extended anti-BRST symmetries in extended superspace formalism by introducing new Grassman…
It has been known for quite some time that the N=4 super Yang-Mills equations defined on four-dimensional Euclidean space are equivalent to certain constraint equations on the Euclidean superspace R^(4|16). In this paper we consider the constraint equations on a deformed superspace R^(4|16)_\hbar a la Seiberg and derive the deformed super Yang-Mills equations. In showing this, we propose a super Seiberg-Witten map.
We derive the BRST symmetry, Slavnov-Taylor identities and Nielsen identities for the ABJM theories in ${\cal N}{=}3$ harmonic superspace. Further, the gauge dependence of one-particle irreducible amplitudes in such superconformal Chern-Simons theory is shown to be generated by a canonical flow with respect to the extended Slavnov-Taylor identity, induced by the extended BRST transformations (including the BRST transformations of the gauge parameters).
In this paper we construct the Seiberg-Witten maps for superfields on the theta-theta deformed superspaces with N=(1/2,0) and N=(1/2,1/2) supersymmety. We show that on the N=(1/2,0) deformed superspace there is no Seiberg-Witten map for antichiral superfields which is at the same time antichiral, local and which preserves the N=(1/2,0) supersymmetry. Solutions which break these requirements are presented. On the N=(1/2,1/2) deformed superspace we show that for the chiral gauge parameter, and therefore also for the chiral matter field, there is no chiral Seiberg-Witten map. Some other possible …
In this paper we construct Seiberg-Witten maps for superfields on canonically deformed N=1, d=4 Minkowski and Euclidean superspace. On Minkowski superspace we show that the Seiberg-Witten map is not compatible with locality, (anti)chirality and supersymmetry at the same time. On Euclidean superspace we show that there exists a local, chiral and supersymmetric Seiberg-Witten map for chiral superfields if we take the noncommutativity parameter to be selfdual, and a local, antichiral and supersymmetric Seiberg-Witten map for antichiral superfields if we take the noncommutativity parameter to be a…
We consider a quantum group interpretation of the non-anticommutative deformations in Euclidean supersymmetric theories. Twist deformations in the corresponding superspaces and Lie superalgebras are constructed in terms of the left supersymmetry generators. Non-anticommutative $\star$-products of superfields are covariant objects in the twist-deformed supersymmetries, and this covariance guarantees the manifest invariance of superfield actions using $\star$-products.
We consider a deformed superspace in which the coordinates θdo not anticommute, but satisfy a Clifford algebra. We present results on the properties of N=1/2 supersymmetric theories of chiral superfields in deformed superspace, taking the Wess-Zumino model as the prototype. We prove new (non)renormalization theorems: the F-term is radiatively corrected and becomes indistinguishable from the D-term, while the Fbar-term is not renormalized. Supersymmetric vacua are critical points of the antiholomorphic superpotential. The vacuum energy is zero to all orders in perturbation theory. We illustrate…
We review the general procedure for the field-theoretical computation of wrapping effects in standard and beta-deformed N=4 super Yang-Mills by means of N=1 superspace techniques. In the undeformed theory, these methods allowed to find explicit results at four and five loops for two-impurity operators. In the deformed case, a general expression for the finite-size correction to the anomalous dimension of single-impurity operators at the critical order was obtained.
In this paper we will analyse the Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory in $\mathcal{N}=1$ superspace formalism. We then study the quantum gauge transformations for this ABJM theory in gaugeon formalism. We will also analyse the extended BRST symmetry for this ABJM theory in gaugeon formalism and show that these BRST transformations for this theory are nilpotent and this in turn leads to the unitary evolution of the $\mathcal{S}$-matrix.
We built up a explicit realization of (0+1)-dimensional q-deformed superspace coordinates as operators on standard superspace. A q-generalization of supersymmetric transformations is obtained, enabling us to introduce scalar superfields and a q-supersymmetric action. We consider a functional integral based on this action. Integration is implemented, at the level of the coordinates and at the level of the fields, as traces over the corresponding representation spaces. Evaluation of these traces lead us to standard functional integrals. The generation of a mass term for the fermion field leads, …
We find half-BPS vortex solitons, at both weak and strong coupling, in the N=6 supersymmetric mass deformation of ABJM theory with U(N) x U(N) gauge symmetry and Chern-Simons level k. The strong coupling gravity dual is obtained by performing a Z_k quotient of the N=8 supersymmetric eleven dimensional supergravity background of Lin, Lunin and Maldacena corresponding to the mass deformed M2-brane theory. At weak coupling, the BPS vortices preserving six supersymmetries are found in the Higgs vacuum of the theory where the gauge symmetry is broken to U(1) x U(1). The classical vortex solitons br…
We derive five-dimensional super Yang-Mills theory from mass-deformed ABJM theory by expanding about $S^2$ for large Chern-Simons level $K$. We obtain the Yang-Mills coupling constant $g_{YM}^2 = 4π^2 R/K$. If we consider $S^3/{\mb{Z}_K}$ as a fiber bundle over $S^2$ then $R/K$ is the circumference of the fiber. The value on the coupling constant agrees with what one gets by compactifying M five-brane on that fiber. For this computation we take $R,K\to \infty$ while keeping $R/K$ at a fixed finite value. We also study mass deformed star-three-product BLG theory at K=1 and $R\to \infty$. In tha…
We build string backgrounds for Yang-Baxter deformations of the $AdS_4\times\mathbb{CP}^3$ superstring generated by $r$-matrices satisfying the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We obtain the metric and the NS-NS two-form of the gravity dual corresponding to noncommutative and dipole deformations of ABJM theory, as well as a deformed background with Schrödinger symmetry. The first two backgrounds may also be found by TsT transformations while for the last background we get a new family of non-relativistic ABJM theories with Schrödinger symmetry.
We review the non-anticommutative Q-deformations of N=(1,1) supersymmetric theories in four-dimensional Euclidean harmonic superspace. These deformations preserve chirality and harmonic Grassmann analyticity. The associated field theories arise as a low-energy limit of string theory in specific backgrounds and generalize the Moyal-deformed supersymmetric field theories. A characteristic feature of the Q-deformed theories is the half-breaking of supersymmetry in the chiral sector of the Euclidean superspace. Our main focus is on the chiral singlet Q-deformation, which is distinguished by preser…
The classical $r$-matrix for $N=1$ superPoincar{é} algebra, given by Lukierski, Nowicki and Sobczyk is used to describe the graded Poisson structure on the $N=1$ Poincar{é} supergroup. The standard correspondence principle between the even (odd) Poisson brackets and (anti)commutators leads to the consistent quantum deformation of the superPoincar{é} group with the deformation parameter $q$ described by fundamental mass parameter $κ\quad (κ^{-1}=\ln{q})$. The $κ$-deformation of $N=1$ superspace as dual to the $κ$-deformed supersymmetry algebra is discussed.
We give explicit analytical expressions for the partition function of $U(N)_{k}\times U(N+M)_{-k}$ ABJ theory at weak coupling ($k\rightarrow \infty )$ for finite and arbitrary values of $N$ and $M$ (including the ABJM case and its mass-deformed generalization). We obtain the expressions by identifying the one-matrix model formulation with a Meixner-Pollaczek ensemble and using the corresponding orthogonal polynomials, which are also eigenfunctions of a $su(1,1)$ quantum oscillator. Wilson loops in mass-deformed ABJM are also studied in the same limit and interpreted in terms of $su(1,1)$ cohe…
In this paper, we will study the deformation of a three dimensional theory with $\mathcal{N} =2$ supersymmetry. This theory will be deformed by the presence of a constant vector field. This deformation will break the Lorentz symmetry. So, we will analyse this theory using $\mathcal{N} =2$ aether superspace. The $\mathcal{N} =2$ aether superspace will be obtained from a deformation of the usual $\mathcal{N} =2$ superspace. This will be done by deforming the generators of the three dimensional $\mathcal{N} =2$ supersymmetry. After analysing this deformed superalgebra, we will derive an explicit …
We analyze the quantum ABJM theory on ${\cal N} = 1$ superspace in different gauges. We study the Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) formulation for this model. By developing field/antifield dependent BRST transformation we establish connection between the two different solutions of the quantum master equation within the BV formulation.
Mass-deformed ABJM theory has a maximally supersymmetric fuzzy two-sphere vacuum solution where the scalar fields are proportional to the TGRVV matrices. We construct these matrices using Schwinger oscillators. This shows that the ABJM gauge group that corresponds to the fuzzy two-sphere geometry is $U(N)\times U(N-1)$. We deconstruct the graviphoton term in the D4 brane theory. The normalization of this term is fixed by topological reasons. This gives us the correct normalization of the deconstructed U(1) gauge field and fixes the Yang -Mills coupling constant to the value which corresponds t…
Maximally supersymmetric mass deformation of the Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson (BLG) theory corresponds to a {non-central} extension of the d=3 N=8 Poincare superalgebra (allowed in three dimensions). We obtain its light-cone superspace formulation which has a novel feature of the dynamical supersymmetry generators being {cubic} in the kinematical ones. The mass deformation picks a quaternionic direction, which breaks the SO(8) R-symmetry down to SO(4)xSO(4). The Hamiltonian of the theory is shown to be a quadratic form of the dynamical supersymmetry transformations, to all orders in the mass para…
We explore the chaotic dynamics of the mass-deformed Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena model. To do so, we first perform a dimensional reduction of this model from $2+1$ to $0+1$ dimensions, considering that the fields are spatially uniform. Working in the 't Hooft limit and tracing over ansatz configurations involving fuzzy 2-spheres, which are described in terms of the Gomis-Rodriguez-Gomez-Van Raamsdonk-Verlinde matrices with collective time dependence, we obtain a family of reduced effective Lagrangians and demonstrate that they have chaotic dynamics by computing the associated Lyapunov e…
In this paper, we will analyse the superloop space formalism for a four dimensional supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in deformed superspace. We will deform the $\mathcal{N} =1$ superspace by imposing non-anticommutativity. This non-anticommutative deformation of the superspace will break half the supersymmetry of the original theory. So, this theory will have $\mathcal{N} =1/2$ supersymmetry. We will analyse the superloop space duality for this deformed supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory using the $\mathcal{N} =1/2$ superspace formalism. We will demonstrate that the sources in the original theor…
We study the instanton equation of the supersymmetric CP^{N-1} sigma model on non(anti)commutative superspace in two dimensions. We show that the undeformed instanton equation is consistent with the deformed equations of motion. Then we conclude that the instanton equation is not deformed by superspace non(anti)commutativity.
We study supergravity BPS equations which correspond to mass-deformation of some representative AdS/CFT examples. The field theory of interest are N=4, D=4 super Yang-Mills, the ABJM model in D=3, and the Brandhuber-Oz fixed point in D=5. For these gauge theories the free energy with mass terms for matter multiplets is calculable in large-N limit using supersymmetric localization technique. We suggest a perturbative method to solve the supergravity equations. For the dual of mass-deformed ABJM model we reproduce the known exact solutions. For the mass-deformed Brandhuber-Oz theory our method g…
It is known that the partition functions of the U(N) x U(N+M) ABJM theory satisfy a set of bilinear relations, which, written in the grand partition function, was recently found to be the q-Painleve III_3 equation. In this paper we have suggested a similar bilinear relation holds for the ABJM theory with N=6 preserving mass deformation for an arbitrary complex value of mass parameter, to which we have provided several non-trivial checks by using the exact values of the partition functions for various N,k,M and the mass parameter. For particular choices of the mass parameters labeled by integer…
We propose a type of non-anticommutative superspace, with the interesting property of relating to Lee-Wick type of higher derivatives theories, which are known for their interesting properties, and have lead to proposals of phenomenologicaly viable higher derivatives extensions of the Standard Model. The deformation of superspace we consider does not preserve supersymmetry or associativity in general; however, we show that a non-anticommutative version of the Wess-Zumino model can be properly defined. In fact, the definition of chiral and antichiral superfields turns out to be simpler in our c…
We study vacua, walls and three-pronged junctions of mass-deformed nonlinear sigma models on $SO(2N)/U(N)$ and $Sp(N)/U(N)$ for generic $N$. We review and discuss the on-shell component Lagrangians of the ${\mathcal{N}}=2$ nonlinear sigma model on the Grassmann manifold, which are obtained in the ${\mathcal{N}}=1$ superspace formalism and in the harmonic superspace formalism. We also show that the Kähler potential of the ${\mathcal{N}}=2$ nonlinear sigma model on the complex projective space, which is obtained in the projective superspace formalism, is equivalent to the Kähler potential of the…
We consider non(anti)commutative (NAC) deformations of d=1 N=2 superspace. We find that, in the chiral base, the deformation preserves only a half of the original (linearly realized) supercharge algebra, as it usually happens in NAC field theories. We obtain in terms of a real supermultiplet a closed expression for a deformed Quantum Mechanics Lagrangian in which the original superpotential is smeared, similarly to what happens for the two dimensional deformed sigma model. Quite unexpectedly, we find that a second conserved charge can be constructed which leads to a nonlinear field realization…
We study Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory without and with mass deformation. It is shown that maximally supersymmetry preserving, D-term, and F-term mass deformations of single mass parameter are equivalent. We obtain vortex-type half-BPS equations and the corresponding energy bound. For the undeformed ABJM theory, the resulting half-BPS equation is the same as that in supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and no finite energy regular BPS solution is found. For the mass-deformed ABJM theory, the half-BPS equations for U(2)xU(2) case reduce to the vortex equation in Maxwell-Higgs the…
