We show that if p is an odd prime then $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}E_kE_{p-1-k}=1 (mod p)$$ and $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-3}E_kE_{p-3-k}=(-1)^{(p-1)/2}2E_{p-3} (mod p),$$ where E_0,E_1,E_2,... are Euler numbers. Moreover, we prove that for any positive integer n and prime number p>2n+1 we have $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1+2n}E_kE_{p-1+2n-k}=s(n) (mod p)$$ where s(n) is an integer only depending on n.
We construct an Euler system in the cohomology of the tensor product of the Galois representations attached to two modular forms, using elements in the higher Chow groups of products of modular curves. We use this Euler system to prove a finiteness theorem for the strict Selmer group of the Galois representation when the associated p-adic Rankin--Selberg L-function is non-vanishing at s = 1.
Using general identities for difference operators, as well as a technique of symbolic computation and tools from probability theory, we derive very general kth order (k \ge 2) convolution identities for Bernoulli and Euler polynomials. This is achieved by use of an elementary result on uniformly distributed random variables. These identities depend on k positive real parameters, and as special cases we obtain numerous known and new identities for these polynomials. In particular we show that the well-known identities of Miki and Matiyasevich for Bernoulli numbers are special cases of the same …
We study a special Dirichlet series studied before by Apostol and Matsuoka and specify its values at negative integers. These values are related to a certain convolution of Bernoulli numbers
Many kinds of convolution identities have been considered about several numbers, including Bernoulli, Euler, Genocchi, Cauchy, Stirling, and Fibonacci numbers. The well-known basic result about Bernoulli numbers is due to Euler. The convolution identities have been studied. In this paper, we give convolution identities for Tribonacci numbers without binomial coefficients and with binomial coefficients. Convolution identities of Fiboancci numbers or Lucas numbers can be expressed in the form of linear combinations of Fibonacci numbers and Lucas numbers only. Fibonacci numbers and Lucas numbers …
The Euler numbers occur in the Taylor expansion of $\tan(x)+\sec(x)$. Since Stieltjes, continued fractions and Hankel determinants of the even Euler numbers, on the one hand, of the odd Euler numbers, on the other hand, have been widely studied separately. However, no Hankel determinants of the (mixed) Euler numbers have been obtained and explicitly calculated. The reason for that is that some Hankel determinants of the Euler numbers are null. This implies that the Jacobi continued fraction of the Euler numbers does not exist. In the present paper, this obstacle is bypassed by using the Hankel…
To determine Euler numbers modulo powers of two seems to be a difficult task. In this paper we achieve this and apply the explicit congruence to give a new proof of a classical result due to M. A. Stern.
The integral representation of the Hadamard product of two functions is used to prove several Euler-type series transformation formulas. As applications we obtain three binomial identities involving harmonic numbers and an identity for the Laguerre polynomials. We also evaluate in a closed form certain power series with harmonic numbers
In this article, we introduce combinatorial models for poly-Bernoulli polynomials and poly-Euler numbers of both kinds. As their applications, we provide combinatorial proofs of some identities involving poly-Bernoulli polynomials.
We equip the space of lattice cones with a coproduct which makes it a connected cograded colagebra. The exponential sum and exponential integral on lattice cones can be viewed as linear maps on this space with values in the space of meromorphic germs with linear poles at zero. We investigate the subdivision properties-- reminiscent of the inclusion-exclusion principle for the cardinal on finite sets-- of such linear maps and establish a compatibility of these properties with respect to the convolution quotient of the coalgebra. Implementing the Algebraic Birkhoff Factorization procedure on the…
By using various expansions of the parametric digamma function and the method of residue computations, we study three variants of the linear Euler sums, related Hoffman's double $t$-values and Kaneko-Tsumura's double $T$-values, and establish several symmetric extensions of the Kaneko-Tsumura conjecture. Some special cases are discussed in detail to determine the coefficients of involved mathematical constants in the evaluations. In particular, it can be found that several general convolution identities on the classical Bernoulli numbers and Genocchi numbers are required in this study, and the…
Carlitz has introduced an interesting $q$-analogue of Frobenius-Euler numbers in [4]. He has indicated a corresponding Stadudt-Clausen theorem and also some interesting congruence properties of the $q$-Euler numbers. In this paper we give another construction of $q$-Euler numbers, which are different than his $q$-Euler numbers. By using our $q$-Euler numbers, we define the $q$-analogue of Genocchi numbers and investigate the relations between $q$-Euler numbers and $q$-analogs of Genocchi numbers.

In this paper, we introduce the hypergeometric Euler number as an analogue of the hypergeometric Bernoulli number and the hypergeometric Cauchy number. We study several expressions and sums of products of hypergeometric Euler numbers. We also introduce complementary hypergeometric Euler numbers and give some characteristic properties. There are strong reasons why these hypergeometric numbers are important. The hypergeometric numbers have one of the advantages that yield the natural extensions of determinant expressions of the numbers, though many kinds of generalizations of the Euler numbers h…

In [14] Ozden-Simsek-Cangul constructed generating functions of higher-order twisted $(h,q)$-extension of Euler polynomials and numbers, by using $p$-adic q-deformed fermionic integral on $\Bbb Z_p$. By applying their generating functions, they derived the complete sums of products of the twisted $(h,q)$-extension of Euler polynomials and numbers, see[13, 14]. In this paper we cosider the new $q$-extension of Euler numbers and polynomials to be different which is treated by Ozden-Simsek-Cangul. From our $q$-Euler numbers and polynomials we derive some interesting identities and we construct $q…

In this paper we study that the $q$-Euler numbers and polynomials are analytically continued to $E_q(s)$. A new formula for the Euler's $q$-Zeta function $ζ_{E,q}(s)$ in terms of nested series of $ζ_{E,q}(n)$ is derived. Finally we introduce the new concept of the dynamics of analytically continued $q$-Euler numbers and polynomials.
In this paper we are interested in Euler-type sums with products of harmonic numbers, Stirling numbers and Bell numbers. We discuss the analytic representations of Euler sums through values of polylogarithm function and Riemann zeta function. Moreover, we provide explicit evaluations for almost all Euler sums with weight 5, which can be expressed in terms of zeta values and polylogarithms. Furthermore, we give explicit formula for several classes of Euler-related sums in terms of zeta values and harmonic numbers, and several examples are given. The given representations are new.

Recently, introduced are the generalized Euler-Genocchi and generalized degenerate Euler-Genocchi polynomials. The aim of this note is to study the multi-Euler-Genocchi and degenerate multi-Euler-Genocchi polynomials which are defined by means of the multiple logarithm and generalize respectively the generalized Euler-Genocchi and generalized degenerate Euler-Genocchi polynomials. Especially, we express the former by the generalized Euler-Genocchi polynomials, the multi-Stirling numbers of the first kind and Stirling numbers of the second kind, and the latter by the generalized degenerate Eule…
For an integer $k$, define poly-Euler numbers of the second kind $\widehat E_n^{(k)}$ ($n=0,1,\dots$) by $$ \frac{{\rm Li}_k(1-e^{-4 t})}{4\sinh t}=\sum_{n=0}^\infty\widehat E_n^{(k)}\frac{t^n}{n!}\,. $$ When $k=1$, $\widehat E_n=\widehat E_n^{(1)}$ are {\it Euler numbers of the second kind} or {\it complimentary Euler numbers} defined by $$ \frac{t}{\sinh t}=\sum_{n=0}^\infty\widehat E_n\frac{t^n}{n!}\,. $$ Euler numbers of the second kind were introduced as special cases of hypergeometric Euler numbers of the second kind in \cite{KZ}, so that they would supplement hypergeometric Euler number…

We define generating functions of multiple q-Euler numbers and polynomials. Furthermore we construct multivariate Hurwitz type zeta function which interpolates the multivariate q-Euler numbers or polynomials at negative integers.

Direct links between generalized harmonic numbers, linear Euler sums and Tornheim double series are established in a more perspicuous manner than is found in existing literature. We show that every linear Euler sum can be decomposed into a linear combination of Tornheim double series of the same weight. New closed form evaluations of various Euler sums are presented. Finally certain combinations of linear Euler sums that are reducible to Riemann zeta values are discovered.
