Let G be a reductive algebraic group over the complex field and O_h be a closed adjoint orbit through a semisimple element h. By a result of Borho and Kraft (1979), it is known that the asymptotic cone of the orbit O_h is the closure of a Richardson nilpotent orbit corresponding to a parabolic subgroup whose Levi component is the centralizer Z_G(h) in G.
In this paper, we prove an analogue on a semisimple orbit for a symmetric pair (G, K).
We classify filtered quantizations of conical symplectic singularities and use this to show that all filtered quantizations of symplectic quotient singularities are spherical Symplectic reflection algebras of Etingof and Ginzburg. We further apply our classification and a classification of filtered Poisson deformations obtained by Namikawa to establish a version of the Orbit method for semisimple Lie algebras. Namely, we produce a natural map from the set of adjoint orbits in a semisimple Lie algebra to the set of primitive ideals in the universal enveloping algebra. We show that the map is in…
Let $σ$ be an involution of a complex semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ and $\mathfrak g=\mathfrak g_0\oplus\mathfrak g_1$ the related $\mathbb Z_2$-grading. We study relations between nilpotent $G_0$-orbits in $\mathfrak g_0$ and the respective $G$-orbits in $\mathfrak g$. If $e\in\mathfrak g_0$ is nilpotent and $\{e,h,f\}\subset\mathfrak g_0$ is an $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-triple, then the semisimple element $h$ yields a $\mathbb Z$-grading of $\mathfrak g$. Our main tool is the combined $\mathbb Z\times\mathbb Z_2$-grading of $\mathfrak g$, which is called a mixed grading. We prove, in particul…
We consider the equivariant K-theory of a real semisimple Lie group which acts on the (complex) flag variety of its complexification group. We construct an assemble map in the framework of KK-theory and then we prove that it is an isomorphism. The prove relies on a careful study of the orbits of the real group action on the flag variety and then piecing together different orbits. This result is a special case of the Baum-Connes conjecture with coefficients.
We propose a systematic and topological study of limits $\lim_{ν\to 0^+}G_\mathbb{R}\cdot(νx)$ of continuous families of adjoint orbits for non-compact simple Lie groups. This limit is always a finite union of nilpotent orbits. We describe explicitly these nilpotent orbits in terms of Richardson orbits in the case of hyperbolic semisimple elements. We also show that one can approximate minimal nilpotent orbits or even nilpotent orbits by elliptic semisimple orbits. The special cases of $\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{R})$ and $\mathrm{SU}(p,q)$ are computed in detail.
A nilpotent orbit $O$ of a complex semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ has finite fundamental group. Associated with an etale cover of $O$, we have a finite cover of the closure $\bar{O}$ of $O$. In this article we consider the finite cover X associated with the universal cover of a nilpotent orbit $O$ of a classical simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We construct explicitly a Q-factorial terminalization of X in a group theoretic way.

Let g be a semisimple Lie algebra over the real numbers. We describe an explicit combinatorial construction of the real Weyl group of g with respect to a given Cartan subalgebra. An efficient computation of this Weyl group is important for the classification of regular semisimple subalgebras, real carrier algebras, and real nilpotent orbits associated with g; the latter have various applications in theoretical physics.
Let $G$ be a semisimple Lie group with discrete series. We use maps $K_0(C^*_rG)\to \mathbb{C}$ defined by orbital integrals to recover group theoretic information about $G$, including information contained in $K$-theory classes not associated to the discrete series. An important tool is a fixed point formula for equivariant indices obtained by the authors in an earlier paper. Applications include a tool to distinguish classes in $K_0(C^*_rG)$, the (known) injectivity of Dirac induction, versions of Selberg's principle in $K$-theory and for matrix coefficients of the discrete series, a Tannaka…
We classify states of four rebits, that is, we classify the orbits of the group $\widehat{G}(\mathbb R) = \mathrm{\mathop{SL}}(2,\mathbb R)^4$ in the space $(\mathbb R^2)^{\otimes 4}$. This is the real analogon of the well-known SLOCC operations in quantum information theory. By constructing the $\widehat{G}(\mathbb R)$-module $(\mathbb R^2)^{\otimes 4}$ via a $\mathbb Z/2\mathbb Z$-grading of the simple split real Lie algebra of type $D_4$, the orbits are divided into three groups: semisimple, nilpotent and mixed. The nilpotent orbits have been classified in Dietrich et al. (2017), yielding a…
