We consider the cubic Nonlinear Schroedinger Equation (NLS) in one space dimension, either focusing or defocusing. We prove that the solutions satisfy a-priori local in time Hs bounds in terms of the Hs size of the initial data for s >=-1/4 . This improves earlier results of Christ-Colliander-Tao [2] and of the authors [12]. The new ingredients are a localization in space and local energy decay, which we hope to be of independent interest.
We prove non-existence of solutions for the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the circle if initial data belong to $H^s(\mathbb{T}) \setminus L^2(\mathbb{T})$ for some $s \in (-\frac18, 0)$. The proof is based on establishing an a priori bound on solutions to a renormalized cubic NLS in negative Sobolev spaces via the short time Fourier restriction norm method.
In this short note we present a new proof of the global well-posedness and scattering result for the defocusing energy-critical NLS in four space dimensions obtained previously by Ryckman and Visan. The argument is inspired by the recent work of Dodson on the mass-critical NLS.

For the latter we prove the existence of a cascade of energy. Finally, some new examples of the Talbot effect at the critical level of regularity are given.
We consider the focusing cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with inverse-square potential in three space dimensions. We identify a sharp threshold between scattering and blowup, establishing a result analogous to that of Duyckaerts, Holmer, and Roudenko for the standard focusing cubic NLS. We also prove failure of uniform space-time bounds at the threshold.
Modified scattering for the cubic dispersion-managed NLS

In this article, we study long time dynamics for defocusing cubic NLS on three dimensional product space. First, we apply the decoupling method in Bourgain-Demeter \cite{BD} to establish a bilinear Strichartz estimate. Moreover, we prove global well-posedness for defocusing, cubic NLS on three dimensional product space with rough initial data ($H^s$, $s>\frac{5}{6}$) based on I-method and the bilinear estimate. At last, we discuss the growth of higher Sobolev norm problem which is tightly linked to the weak turbulence phenomenon.
We revisit the scattering result of Holmer and Roudenko on the radial focusing cubic NLS in three space dimensions. Using the radial Sobolev embedding and a virial/Morawetz estimate, we give a simple proof of scattering below the ground state that avoids the use of concentration compactness.
We prove global well-posedness and scattering for the defocusing, cubic NLS on $\mathbb{R}^3$ with initial data in $H^s(\mathbb{R}^3)$ for $s>49/74$. The proof combines the ideas of resonance decomposition in \cite{CKSTT4} and linear-nonlinear decomposition in \cite{ben1}\cite{roy} together with the idea of large time iteration.
We consider the large data scattering problem for the 2D and 3D cubic-quintic NLS in the focusing-focusing regime. Our attention is firstly restricted to the 2D space, where the cubic nonlinearity is $L^2$-critical. We establish a new type of scattering criterion that is uniquely determined by the mass of the initial data, which differs from the classical setting based on the Lyapunov functional. At the end, we also formulate a solely mass-determining scattering threshold for the 3D cubic-quintic NLS in the focusing-focusing regime.
We prove global wellposedness in the energy space of the defocusing cubic nonlinear Schroedinger and Gross-Pitaevskii equations on the exterior of a non-trapping domain in dimension 3. The main ingredient is a Strichartz estimate obtained combining a semi-classical Strichartz estimate with a smoothing effect on exterior domains.
In this paper, we establish bilinear and gradient bilinear Strichartz estimates for Schrödinger operators in 2 dimensional compact manifolds with boundary. Using these estimates, we can infer the local well-posedness of cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in $H^s$ for every $s>{2/3}$ on such manifolds.
We consider the cubic Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation (NLS) as well as the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation in one space dimension. We prove that for each $s>-\frac12$ there exists a conserved energy which is equivalent to the $H^s$ norm of the solution. For the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation there is a similar conserved energy for every $s\ge -1$.
Combining the usual energy functional with a higher-order conserved quantity originating from integrability theory, we show that the black soliton is a local minimizer of a quantity that is conserved along the flow of the cubic defocusing NLS equation in one space dimension. This unconstrained variational characterization gives an elementary proof of the orbital stability of the black soliton with respect to perturbations in $H^2(\mathbb{R})$.
In this paper, we prove that the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with the fractional Laplacian on the unit disk is globally well-posed for certain radial initial data below the energy space. The result is proved by extending the I-method in the fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation setting.
We consider the cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in two space dimensions. For this model, X. Cheng established scattering for $H^1$ data with mass strictly below that of the ground state for the cubic NLS. Subsequently, R. Carles and C. Sparber utilized the pseudoconformal energy estimate to obtain scattering at the sharp threshold for data belonging to a weighted Sobolev space. In this work, we remove the weighted assumption and establish scattering at the threshold for radial data in $H^1$.
We consider the initial-value problem for the $1d$ cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a repulsive delta potential. We prove that small initial data in a weighted Sobolev space lead to global solutions that decay in $L^\infty$ and exhibit modified scattering.

In this paper, we consider a 3d cubic focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) with slowing decaying potentials. Adopting the variational method of Ibrahim-Masmoudi-Nakanishi \cite{IMN}, we obtain a condition for scattering. It is actually sharp in some sense since the solution will blow up if it's false. This article is concerned with the small data problem for the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) in one space dimension, and short range modifications of it. We provide a new, simpler approach in order to prove that global solutions exist for data which is small in $H^{0,1}$. In the same setting we also discuss the related problems of obtaining a modified scattering expansion for the solution, as well as asymptotic completeness.
In this paper, we study the one-dimensional cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the circle. In particular, we develop a normal form approach to study NLS in almost critical Fourier-Lebesgue spaces. By applying an infinite iteration of normal form reductions introduced by the first author with Z. Guo and S. Kwon (2013), we derive a normal form equation which is equivalent to the renormalized cubic NLS for regular solutions. We prove bilinear estimates for the Schrödinger equation on 3D domains, with Dirichlet boundary conditions. On non-trapping domains, they match the $\mathbb{R}^3$ case, while on bounded domains they match the generic boundary less manifold case. As an application, we obtain global well-posedness for the defocusing cubic NLS for data in $H^s_0(Ω)$, $1<s\leq 3$, with $Ω$ any bounded domain with smooth boundary.
In this note, we consider the ill-posedness issue for the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the circle. In particular, adapting the argument by Christ-Colliander-Tao [14] to the periodic setting, we exhibit a norm inflation phenomenon for both the usual cubic NLS and the Wick ordered cubic NLS for $s \leq s_\text{crit} :=- \frac 12$. We also discuss norm inflation phenomena for general cubic fractional NLS on the circle.
In this paper, we prove the global well-posedness for the focusing, cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the product space $\mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{T}^3$ with initial data below the threshold that arises from the the ground state in the Euclidean setting. We study the periodic cubic derivative non-linear Schrödinger equation (dNLS) and the (focussing) quintic non-linear Schrödinger equation (NLS). These are both $L^2$ critical dispersive models, which exhibit threshold type behavior, when posed on the line ${\mathbb R}$. We describe the (three parameter) family of non-vanishing bell-shaped solutions for the periodic problem, in closed form. Periodic waves of the one-dimensional cubic defocusing NLS equation are considered. Using tools from integrability theory, these waves have been shown in [Bottman, Deconinck, and Nivala, 2011] to be linearly stable and the Floquet-Bloch spectrum of the linearized operator has been explicitly computed. We combine here the first four conserved quantities of the NLS equation to give a direct proof that cnoidal periodic waves are orbitally stable with respect to subharmonic perturbations, with period equal to an integer multiple of the period of the wave. In this note we study the initial value problem in a critical space for the one dimensional Schrödinger equation with a cubic non-linearity and under some smallness conditions. In particular the initial data is given by a sequence of Dirac deltas with different amplitudes but equispaced. This choice is motivated by a related geometrical problem; the one describing the flow of curves in three dimensions moving in the direction of the binormal with a velocity that is given by the curvature.
We consider the nonlinear Schrödinger equation in three space dimensions with combined focusing cubic and defocusing quintic nonlinearity. This problem was considered previously by Killip, Oh, Pocovnicu, and Visan, who proved scattering for the whole region of the mass/energy plane where the virial quantity is guaranteed to be positive. In this paper we prove scattering in a larger region where the virial quantity is no longer guaranteed to be sign definite.
We explicitly give all stationary solutions to the focusing cubic NLS on the line, in the presence of a defect of the type Dirac's delta or delta prime. The models proves interesting for two features: first, they are exactly solvable and all quantities can be expressed in terms of elementary functions. We show global wellposedness for the defocusing cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) in $H^1(\mathbb{R}) + H^{3/2+}(\mathbb{T})$, and for the defocusing NLS with polynomial nonlinearities in $H^1(\mathbb{R}) + H^{5/2+}(\mathbb{T})$. This complements local results for the cubic NLS and global results for the quadratic NLS in this hybrid setting.

We prove global existence for the one-dimensional cubic non-linear Schrödinger equation in modulation spaces $M_{p,p'}$ for $p$ sufficiently close to $2$. In contrast to known results, our result requires no smallness condition on initial data. The proof adapts a splitting method inspired by work of Vargas-Vega and Hyakuna-Tsutsumi to the modulation space setting and exploits polynomial growth of the free Schrödinger group on modulation spaces.
In this note we consider the 1-D cubic Schrödinger equation with data given as small perturbations of a Dirac-$δ$ function and some other related equations. We first recall that although the problem for this type of data is ill-posed one can use the geometric framework of the Schrödinger map to define the solution beyond the singularity time. Then, we find some natural and well defined geometric quantities that are not regular at time zero. Finally, we make a link between these results and some known phenomena in fluid mechanics that inspired this note.
For both the cubic Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation (NLS) as well as the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation in one space dimension we consider the set ${\bf M}_N$ of pure $N$-soliton states, and their associated multisoliton solutions. We study the long-time behaviour of the focusing cubic NLS on $\R$ in the Sobolev norms $H^s$ for $0 < s < 1$. We obtain polynomial growth-type upper bounds on the $H^s$ norms, and also limit any orbital $H^s$ instability of the ground state to polynomial growth at worst; this is a partial analogue of the $H^1$ orbital stability result of Weinstein. We consider the Nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation and prove that the Gaussian measure with covariance $(1-\partial_x^2)^{-α}$ on $L^2(\mathbf T)$ is quasi-invariant for the associated flow for $α>1/2$. This is sharp and improves a previous result obtained in \cite{OTT} where the values $α>3/4$ were obtained. Also, our method is completely different and simpler, it is based on an explicit formula for the Radon-Nikodym derivative. This article is concerned with infinite depth gravity water waves in two space dimensions. We consider this system expressed in position-velocity potential holomorphic coordinates. Our goal is to study this problem with small wave packet data, and to show that this is well approximated by the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the natural cubic time scale.
