Cubic couplings between a complex scalar field and a tower of symmetric tensor gauge fields of all ranks are investigated on any constant curvature spacetime of dimension d>2. Following Noether's method, the gauge fields interact with the scalar field via minimal coupling to the conserved currents. A symmetric conserved current, bilinear in the scalar field and containing up to r derivatives, is obtained for any rank r from its flat spacetime counterpart in dimension d+1, via a radial dimensional reduction valid precisely for the mass-square domain of unitarity in (anti) de Sitter spacetime of dimension d. The infinite collection of conserved currents and cubic vertices are summarized in a compact form by making use of generating functions and of the Weyl/Wigner quantization on constant curvature spaces.
We study some of the novel properties of conformal field theories with noncompact target spaces as applied to string theory. Standard CFT results get corrected by boundary terms in the target space in a way consistent with the expected spacetime physics. For instance, one-point functions of general operators on the sphere and boundary operators on the disk need not vanish; we show that they are instead equal to boundary terms in spacetime. By applying this result to vertex operators for spacetime gauge transformations with support at infinity, we derive formulas for conserved gauge charges in …
We continue the program of constructing cubic interactions between matter and higher spin supermultiplets. In this work we consider a complex linear superfield and we find that it can have cubic interactions only with supermultiplets with propagating spins $j=s+1$, $j=s+1/2$ for any non-negative integer $s$ (half-integer superspin supermultiplets). We construct the higher spin supercurrent and supertrace, these compose the canonical supercurrent multiplet which generates the cubic interactions. We also prove that for every $s$ there exist an alternative minimal supercurrent multiplet, with van…
Infinite set of higher spin conserved charges is found for the $sp(2M)$ symmetric dynamical systems in $\f{1}{2} M (M+1)$-dimensional generalized spacetime $\M_M$. Since the dynamics in $\M_M$ is equivalent to the conformal dynamics of infinite towers of fields in $d$-dimensional Minkowski spacetime with $d=3,4,6,10,...$ for $M=2,4,8,16, ...$, respectively, the constructed currents in $\M_M$ generate infinite towers of (mostly new) higher spin conformal currents in Minkowski spacetime. The charges have a form of integrals of $M$-forms which are bilinear in the field variables and are closed as…
We give an explicit superspace construction of higher spin conserved supercurrents built out of $4D,\mathcal{N}=1$ massless supermultiplets of arbitrary spin. These supercurrents are gauge invariant and generate a large class of cubic interactions between a massless supermultiplet with superspin $Y_1=s_1+1/2$ and two massless supermultiplets of arbitrary superspin $Y_2$. These interactions are possible only for $s_1\geq 2Y_2$. At the equality, the supercurrent acquires its simplest form and defines the supersymmetric, higher spin extension of the linearized Bel-Robinson tensor.
We compute the conserved charges for Kerr anti-de Sitter spacetimes in various dimensions using the conformal and the counterterm prescriptions. We show that the conserved charge corresponding to the global timelike killing vector computed by the two methods differ by a constant dependent on the rotation parameter and cosmological constant in odd spacetime dimensions, whereas the charge corresponding to the rotational killing vector is the same in either approach. We comment on possible implications of our results to the AdS/CFT correspondence.
The defining properties of Yano tensors naturally generalize those of Killing vectors to anti-symmetric tensor fields of arbitrary rank. We show how the Yano tensors of flat spacetime can be used to construct new, conserved gravitational charges for transverse asymptotically flat spacetimes. The relationship of these new charges to Yano tensors parallels that of ordinary ADM conserved charges to Killing vectors. Hence, we call them Y-ADM charges. A rank n Y-ADM charge is given by an integral over a co-dimension $n$ slice of spatial infinity. In particular, a rank (p+1) Y-ADM charge in a p-bran…
We compute the energy and angular momenta of recent D-dimensional Kerr-AdS solutions to cosmological Einstein gravity, as well as of the BTZ metric, using our invariant charge definitions.
It is shown that the difficulties in formulating the quantum field theory on discrete spacetime appear already in classical dynamics of one degree of freedom on discrete time. The difference equation of motion which maintains a conserved quantity like energy has a very restricted form that is not probably derived by the least action principle. On the other hand, the classical dynamics is possible to be canonically formulated and quantized, if the equation is derived from an action. The difficulties come mainly from this incompatibility of the conserved quantity and the action principle. We for…
Recent work has shown that the addition of an appropriate covariant boundary term to the gravitational action yields a well-defined variational principle for asymptotically flat spacetimes and thus leads to a natural definition of conserved quantities at spatial infinity. Here we connect such results to other formalisms by showing explicitly i) that for spacetime dimension $d \ge 4$ the canonical form of the above-mentioned covariant action is precisely the ADM action, with the familiar ADM boundary terms and ii) that for $d=4$ the conserved quantities defined by counter-term methods agree pre…
Nonabelian Fradkin-Vasiliev cubic interactions for dual-graviton-like gauge fields with gravity and themselves are constructed in anti-de Sitter spacetime. The Young diagrams of gauge potentials have shapes of 'tall-hooks', i.e. two columns the second of height one. The underlying nonabelian algebra is a Clifford algebra with the anti-de Sitter signature. We also discuss the universal enveloping realization of higher-spin algebras, showing that there is a one-parameter family of algebras compatible with unitarity, which is reminiscent of 3d deformed oscillators.
We consider $n$-dimensional asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes in higher curvature gravitational theories with $n \geq 4$, by employing the conformal completion technique. We first argue that a condition on the Ricci tensor should be supplemented to define an asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetime in higher curvature gravitational theories and propose an alternative definition of an asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetime. Based on that definition, we then derive a conservation law of the gravitational field and construct conserved quantities in two classes of higher curvature gravitati…
In the thesis, results presented in various papers involving the author are reviewed. First, general results about consistent deformations at first order (i.e. cubic) using the antifield formalism in Minkowski spacetime are gathered. Secondly, a correspondance between the consistent nonabelian cubic vertices in (Anti)de Sitter and those in Minkowski spacetime is establish. The Minkowski nonabelian cubic solutions for the triplets of spin 2-2-3, 3-3-3 (in particular the parity-breaking ones), 1-s-s and 2-s-s are then studied, the last of which providing the uniqueness of the 2-s-s Fradkin-Vasil…
Previously, we have developed a general method to construct invariant conserved currents and charges in gravitational theories with Lagrangians that are invariant under spacetime diffeomorphisms and local Lorentz transformations. This approach is now generalized to the case when the local Lorentz group is replaced by an arbitrary local gauge group. The particular examples include the Maxwell and Yang-Mills fields coupled to gravity with Abelian and non-Abelian local internal symmetries, and the metric-affine gravity in which the local Lorentz spacetime group is extended to the local general li…
We discuss the definition of conserved quantities in asymptotically locally de Sitter spacetimes. One may define an analogue of holographic charges at future and past infinity and at other Cauchy surfaces $I_t$ as integrals over the intersection of timelike surfaces $C$ and the Cauchy surface $I_t$. In general, the charges $Q^t$ defined on the Cauchy surface $I_t$ depend on $C$, but if gravitational flux is absent the charges are independent of $C$. On the other hand, if there is a net gravitational flux entering or leaving the spacetime region bounded by $C_1, C_2$ and two Cauchy surfaces the…
Stability of massive antisymmetric tensor fields with the Chern-Simons type action in anti de Sitter spacetime is studied. It is found that there exists a complete set of solutions whose energy is conserved and positive definite if the mass is positive. Scalar products of the solutions are shown to be well-defined and conserved. In contrast to the previously studied scalar field case there is no other set of stable solutions with a different kind of boundary condition.
A new prescription to calculate the total energies and angular momenta of asymptotically $(d+1)$-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetimes is proposed. The method is based on an extension of the field theoretical approach to General Relativity to the case where there is an effective cosmological constant. A $(d-1)$-form $Ω$ is exhibited which, when integrated on asymptotic $(d-1)$-dimensional boundary surfaces, yields the values of those conserved quantities. The calculations are gauge independent once asymptotic conditions are not violated . Total energies and angular momenta of some known soluti…
We investigate cubic interactions between a chiral superfield and higher spin superfield corresponding to irreducible representations of the $4D,\, \mathcal{N}=1$ super-Poincaré algebra. We do this by demanding an invariance under the most general transformation, linear in the chiral superfield. Following Noether's method we construct an infinite tower of higher spin supercurrent multiplets which are quadratic in the chiral superfield and include higher derivatives. The results are that a single, massless, chiral superfield can couple only to the half-integer spin supermultiplets $(s+1,s+1/2)$…
In the present contribution we show that the introduction of a conserved axial current in electrodynamics can explain the quantization of electric charge, inducing at the same time a dynamical quantization of spacetime.
We present a covariant phase space construction of hamiltonian generators of asymptotic symmetries with `Dirichlet' boundary conditions in de Sitter spacetime, extending a previous study of Jäger. We show that the de Sitter charges so defined are identical to those of Ashtekar, Bonga, and Kesavan (ABK). We then present a comparison of ABK charges with other notions of de Sitter charges. We compare ABK charges with counterterm charges, showing that they differ only by a constant offset, which is determined in terms of the boundary metric alone. We also compare ABK charges with charges defined b…
Local cubic vertex functions of three higher even spin fields on AdS_D are constructed from the Green function of three conserved currents that are dual to the higher spin fields. Conservation of the currents implies lowest order gauge invariance. These vertex functions appear by the UV divergence as the residue of the highest order pole in the dimensional regularization parameter ε. The method works for even D and maintains covariance at any step. The resulting formula is quite concise.
We apply a recent proposal for defining conserved mass in asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes to the class of Taub-Bolt-dS spacetimes. We compute the action, entropy and conserved mass of these spacetimes, and find that in certain instances the mass and entropy can exceed that of pure de Sitter spacetime, in violation of recent suggestive conjectures to the contrary.
The problem of finding a formulation of Noether's theorem in noncommutative geometry is very important in order to obtain conserved currents and charges for particles in noncommutative spacetimes. In this paper, we formulate Noether's theorem for translations of kappa-Minkowski noncommutative spacetime on the basis of the 5-dimensional kappa-Poincare' covariant differential calculus. We focus our analysis on the simple case of free scalar theory. We obtain five conserved Noether currents, which give rise to five energy-momentum charges. By applying our result to plane waves it follows that the…
We study the symmetries of generalized spacetimes and corresponding phase spaces defined by Jordan algebras of degree three. The generic Jordan family of formally real Jordan algebras of degree three describe extensions of the Minkowskian spacetimes by an extra "dilatonic" coordinate, whose rotation, Lorentz and conformal groups are SO(d-1), SO(d-1,1) XSO(1,1) and SO(d,2)XSO(2,1), respectively. The generalized spacetimes described by simple Jordan algebras of degree three correspond to extensions of Minkowskian spacetimes in the critical dimensions (d=3,4,6,10) by a dilatonic and extra (2,4,8,…
Mass and other conserved Noether charges are discussed for solutions of gravity theories with locally Anti-de Sitter asymptotics in 2n dimensions. The action is supplemented with a boundary term whose purpose is to guarantee that it reaches an extremum on the classical solutions, provided the spacetime is locally AdS at the boundary. It is also shown that if spacetime is locally AdS at spatial infinity, the conserved charges are finite and properly normalized without requiring subtraction of a reference background. In this approach, Noether charges associated to Lorentz and diffeomorphism inva…
We construct a set of conserved charges for asymptotically deSitter spacetimes that correspond to asymptotic conformal isometries. The charges are given by boundary integrals at spatial infinity in the flat cosmological slicing of deSitter. Using a spinor construction, we show that the charge associated with conformal time translations is necessarilly positive and hence may provide a useful definition of energy for these spacetimes. A similar spinor construction shows that the charge associated with the time translation Killing vector of deSitter in static coordinates has both positive and neg…
In Minkowski spacetime it is well-known that the canonical energy-momentum current is involved in the construction of the globally conserved currents of energy-momentum and total angular momentum. For the construction of conserved currents corresponding to (approximate) scale and proper conformal symmetries, however, an improved energy-momentum current is needed. By extending the Minkowskian framework to a genuine metric-affine spacetime, we find that the affine Noether identities and the conformal Killing equations enforce this improvement in a rather natural way. So far, no gravitational dyn…
We study physical properties of constant curvature black holes (CCBHs) in Einstein anti-de Sitter (AdS) gravity. These objects, which are locally AdS throughout the space, are constructed from identifications of global AdS spacetime, in a similar fashion as Banados-Teitelboim-Zanelli (BTZ) black hole in three dimensions. We find that, in dimensions equal or greater than four, CCBHs have zero mass and angular momentum. Only in odd dimensions we are able to associate a nonvanishing conserved quantity to these solutions, which corresponds to the vacuum (Casimir) energy of the spacetime.
We consider in more detail the covariant counterterm proposed by Mann and Marolf in asymptotically flat spacetimes. With an eye to specific practical computations using this counterterm, we present explicit expressions in general $d$ dimensions that can be used in the so-called `cylindrical cut-off' to compute the action and the associated conserved quantities for an asymptotically flat spacetime. As applications, we show how to compute the action and the conserved quantities for the NUT-charged spacetime and for the Kerr black hole in four dimensions.
We derive hamiltionian generators of asymptotic symmetries for general relativity with asymptotic AdS boundary conditions using the ``covariant phase space'' method of Wald et al. We then compare our results with other definitions that have been proposed in the literature. We find that our definition agrees with that proposed by Ashtekar et al, with the spinor definition, and with the background dependent definition of Henneaux and Teitelboim. Our definition disagrees with the one obtained from the ``counterterm subtraction method,'' but the difference is found to consist only of a ``constant …
We find the excitations and construct the conserved charges ( mass and angular momentum) of the recently found Minimal Massive Gravity (MMG) in 2+1 dimensions in asymptotically Anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetimes. The field equation of the theory does not come from an action and hence lacks the required Bianchi Identity needed to define conserved charges. But the theory, which also provides a healthy extension of the Topologically Massive Gravity in the bulk and boundary of spacetime, does admit conserved charges for metric that are solutions. Our construction is based on background Killing vector…
The scattering of a charged scalar field on Coulomb potential is studied using solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation which have a definite momentum. One obtains that in contrast with what happens on Minkowski case the modulus of momentum is not conserved in the scattering process on de Sitter space.
We review issues related to conservation laws for gravity with a negative cosmological constant subject to asymptotically (locally) anti-de Sitter boundary conditions. Beginning with the empty AdS spacetime, we introduce asymptotically (locally) AdS (AlAdS) boundary conditions, important properties of the boundary metric, the notion of conformal frames, and the Fefferman-Graham expansion. These tools are used to construct variational principles for AlAdS gravity, to more properly define the notion of asymptotic symmetry, and to construct the associated boundary stress tensor. The resulting con…
We give a detailed review of construction of conserved quantities in extended theories of gravity for asymptotically maximally symmetric spacetimes and carry out explicit computations for various solutions. Our construction is based on the Killing charge method, and a proper discussion of the conserved charges of extended gravity theories with this method requires studying the corresponding charges in Einstein's theory with or without a cosmological constant. Hence we study the ADM charges (in the asymptotically flat case but in generic viable coordinates), the AD charges (in generic Einstein …
We consider the dynamics of a spherically symmetric massless scalar field coupled to general relativity in Anti--de Sitter spacetime in the small-amplitude limit. Within the context of our previously developed two time framework (TTF) to study the leading self-gravitating effects, we demonstrate the existence of two new conserved quantities in addition to the known total energy $E$ of the modes: The particle number $N$ and Hamiltonian $H$ of our TTF system. Simultaneous conservation of $E$ and $N$ implies that weak turbulent processes undergo dual cascades (direct cascade of $E$ and inverse ca…
From the constructions of the quantum spacetime, a four dimensional quantized spacetime can be embedded in a five dimensional continuous spacetime. Thus to observe from the five dimensional continuous spacetime where the four dimensional quantized spacetime is embedded, there exist the energy-momentum flows between the five dimensional continuous spacetime and the four dimensional quantized spacetime. This makes the energy-momentum not locally conserved generally on the four dimensional quantized spacetime. We propose that energy-momentum tensors of noncommutative field theories constructed fr…
We define an asymptotic symmetry algebra for three-dimensional Goedel spacetimes supported by a gauge field which turns out to be the semi-direct sum of the diffeomorphisms on the circle with two loop algebras. A class of fields admitting this asymptotic symmetry algebra and leading to well-defined conserved charges is found. The covariant Poisson bracket of the conserved charges is then shown to be centrally extended to the semi-direct sum of a Virasoro algebra and two affine algebras.
We introduce simple group-theoretic techniques for classifying conformally-invariant tensor-structures. With them, we classify tensor structures of general n-point functions of non-conserved operators, and $n\geq 4$-point functions of general conserved currents, with or without permutation symmetries, and in any spacetime dimension d. (The case n=3 for conserved operators will appear in subsequent work.) Our techniques are useful for bootstrap applications. The rules we derive simultaneously count tensor structures for flat-space scattering amplitudes in d+1 dimensions.
We derive a class of cubic interaction vertices for three higher spin fields, with integer spins $λ_1$, $λ_2$, $λ_3$, by closing commutators of the Poincaré algebra in four-dimensional flat spacetime. We find that these vertices exhibit an interesting factorization property which allows us to identify off-shell perturbative relations between them.
We first review the result that the noncommutative principal chiral model has an infinite tower of conserved currents, and discuss the special case of the noncommutative CP^1 model in some detail. Next, we focus our attention to a submodel of the CP^1 model in the noncommutative spacetime A_θ(R^2+1). By extending a generalized zero curvature representation to A_θ(R^2+1) we discuss its integrability and construct its infinitely many conserved currents. Supersymmetric principal chiral model with and without the WZW term and a supersymmetric extension of the CP^1 submodel in noncommutative spacet…
Starting from a divergence-free rank-4 tensor of which the trace is the cosmological Einstein tensor, we give a construction of conserved charges in Einstein's gravity and its higher derivative extensions for asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes. The current yielding the charge is explicitly gauge-invariant, and the charge expression involves the linearized Riemann tensor at the boundary. Hence, to compute the mass and angular momenta in these spacetimes, one just needs to compute the linearized Riemann tensor. We give two examples.
We present a unification model based on the well-known but mysterious cubic-structure grouping of quarks and leptons that suggests an underlying symmetry connection deemed explainable by a unified theory. It results in an extension of the Pati-Salam model that consolidates the fermions into two sixteen-dimensional chiral representations of the gauge group. Moreover, the discrete cubic flavor symmetry arbitrarily conjectured in the literature is found here to be implied by the gauge symmetry. Furthermore, the gauge algebra also describes an eleven-dimensional spacetime decomposed into the usual…
A new formula for the conserved charges in 3+1 gravity for spacetimes with local AdS asymptotic geometry is proposed. It is shown that requiring the action to have an extremum for this class of asymptotia sets the boundary term that must be added to the Lagrangian as the Euler density with a fixed weight factor. The resulting action gives rise to the mass and angular momentum as Noether charges associated to the asymptotic Killing vectors without requiring specification of a reference background in order to have a convergent expression. A consequence of this definition is that any negative con…
Recently, the theory of Topologically massive gravity non-minimally coupled to a scalar field has been proposed which comes from Lorentz-Chern-Simons theory \cite{1}. That theory is a torsion free one. We extend that theory by adding an extra term which makes torsion to be non-zero. The extended theory can be regarded as an extension of Minimal massive gravity such that it is non-minimally coupled to a scalar field. We obtain equations of motion of extended theory such that they are expressed in terms of usual torsion free spin-connection. We show that BTZ spacetime is a solution of this theor…
Based purely on symmetry considerations, we derive the following result: in momentum space, the coefficient of the cubic interaction vertex for a spin $λ$ field is equal to the corresponding Yang-Mills (spin 1) coefficient, raised to the power $λ$. This result is valid for all $λ$ for Lagrangians that contain a cubic interaction vertex of the form $λ$-$λ$-$λ$, in four-dimensional flat spacetime. For $λ=3$, we present an additional derivation of this result.
In this paper we consider superstring propagation in a nontrivial NS-NS background. We deform the world sheet stress tensor and supercurrent with an infinitesimal B_{μν} field. We construct the gauge-covariant super-Poincare generators in this background and show that the B_{μν} field spontaneously breaks spacetime supersymmetry. We find that the gauge-covariant spacetime momenta cease to commute with each other and with the spacetime supercharges. We construct a set of "magnetic" super-Poincare generators that are conserved for constant field strength H_{μνλ}, and show that these generators o…
We study conservation laws for gravity theories invariant under general coordinate transformations. The class of models under consideration includes Einstein's general relativity theory as a special case as well as its generalizations to non-Riemannian spacetime geometry and nonminimal coupling. We demonstrate that an arbitrary vector field on the spacetime manifold generates a current density that is conserved under certain conditions, and find the expression of the corresponding superpotential. For a family of models including nonminimal coupling between geometry and matter, we discuss in de…
We revisit the asymptotically Anti de Sitter spacetimes in three dimensions. Using the conformal-completion technique, we formulate the boundary conditions in a covariant fashion and construct the global charges associated with the asymptotic symmetries. The charges so constructed are conserved for the asymptotic Killing vectors fields but are not conserved for the asymptotic conformal Killing vector fields. The quantity integrated to obtain the global charge is interpreted as the Brown-York boundary stress-energy tensor and it is found not to be traceless. The trace is interpreted as the trac…
I introduce a covariant four-vector $\mathcal{G}^a[v]$, which can be interpreted as the momentum density attributed to the spacetime geometry by an observer with velocity $v^a$, and describe its properties: (a) Demanding that the total momentum of matter plus geometry is conserved for all observers, leads to the gravitational field equations. Thus, how matter curves spacetime is entirely determined by this principle of momentum conservation. (b) The $\mathcal{G}^a[v]$ can be related to the gravitational Lagrangian in a manner similar to the usual definition of Hamiltonian in, say, classical me…
To complement recent work on tests of spacetime symmetry in gravity, cubic curvature couplings are studied using an effective field theory description of spacetime-symmetry breaking. The associated mass dimension 8 coefficients for Lorentz violation studied do not result in any linearized gravity modifications and instead are revealed in the first nonlinear terms in an expansion of spacetime around a flat background. We consider effects on gravitational radiation through the energy loss of a binary system and we study two-body orbital perturbations using the post-Newtonian metric. Some effects…
The conserved probability densities (attributed to the conserved currents derived from relativistic wave equations) should be non-negative and the integral of them over an entire hypersurface should be equal to one. To satisfy these requirements in a covariant manner, the foliation of spacetime must be such that each integral curve of the current crosses each hypersurface of the foliation once and only once. In some cases, it is necessary to use hypersurfaces that are not spacelike everywhere. The generalization to the many-particle case is also possible.
The source-free Maxwell action is invariant under electric-magnetic duality rotations in arbitrary spacetimes. This leads to a conserved classical Noether charge. We show that this conservation law is broken at the quantum level in presence of a background classical gravitational field with a non-trivial Chern-Pontryagin invariant, in a parallel way to the chiral anomaly for massless Dirac fermions. Among the physical consequences, the net polarization of the quantum electromagnetic field is not conserved.
From the metric and one Killing-Yano tensor of rank D-2 in any D-dimensional spacetime with such a principal Killing-Yano tensor, we show how to generate k=[(D+1)/2] Killing-Yano tensors, of rank D-2j for all j=0,...,k-1, and k rank-2 Killing tensors, giving k constants of geodesic motion that are in involution. For the example of the Kerr-NUT-AdS spacetime (hep-th/0604125) with its principal Killing-Yano tensor (gr-qc/0610144), these constants and the constants from the k Killing vectors give D independent constants in involution, making the geodesic motion completely integrable (hep-th/06110…
We give a new construction of conserved charges in asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes in Einstein's gravity. The new formula is explicitly gauge-invariant and makes direct use of the linearized curvature tensor instead of the metric perturbation. As an example, we compute the mass and angular momentum of the Kerr-AdS black holes.
In this letter we provide a complete holographic reconstruction of the cubic couplings in the minimal bosonic higher-spin theory in AdS$_{d+1}$. For this purpose we also determine the OPE coefficients of all single-trace conserved currents in the $d$-dimensional free scalar $O\left(N\right)$ vector model, and compute the tree-level three-point Witten diagram amplitudes for a generic cubic interaction of higher-spin gauge fields in the metric-like formulation.

Double field theory is an approach for massless modes of string theory, unifying and geometrizing all gauge invariance in manifest $\mathbf{O}(D,D)$ covariant manner. In this approach, we derive off-shell conserved Noether current and corresponding Noether potential associated with unified gauge invariance. We add Wald-type counter two-form to the Noether potential and define conserved global charges as surface integral. We check our $\mathbf{O}(D,D)$ covariant formula against various string backgrounds, both geometric and non-geometric. In all cases we examined, we find perfect agreements wit…
