The alpha and cluster decay properties of the $132-138$^Nd, $144-158$^Gd, $176-196$^Hg and $192-198$^Pb even-even isotopes in the two mass regions A = 130-158 and A = 180-198 are analysed using the Coulomb and Proximity Potential Model. On examining the clusters at corresponding points in the cold valleys (points with same A_2) of the various isotopes of a particular nucleus we find that at certain mass numbers of the parent nuclei, the clusters emitted are getting shifted to the next lower atomic number. It is interesting to see that the change in clusters appears at those isotopes where a change in shape is occurring correspondingly. Such a change of clusters with shape change is studied for the first time in cluster decay. The alpha decay half lives of these nuclei are computed and these are compared with the available experimental alpha decay data. It is seen that the two are in good agreement. On making a comparison of the alpha half lives of the normal deformed and super deformed nuclei, it can be seen that the normal deformed $132$^Nd, $176-188$^Hg and $192$^Pb nuclei are found to be better alpha emitters than the super deformed (in excited state) $134,136$^Nd, $190-196$^Hg and $194$^Pb nuclei. The cluster decay studies reveal that as the atomic number of the parent nuclei increases the N \neq Z cluster emissions become equally or more probable than the N=Z emissions. On the whole the alpha and cluster emissions are more probable from the parents in the heavier mass region (A=180-198) than from the parents in the lighter mass region (A= 130-158). The effect of quadrupole (β_2) and hexadecapole (β_4) deformations of parent and fragments on half life times are also studied.
Decay modes in Pb isotopes within the range 176$\leq$A$\leq$266 are investigated by the calculation of half-lives using several empirical formulas. These formulas along with various theoretical treatments are first tested to reproduce experimental half-lives and known decay modes of Pb isotopes, which are in consequence applied to estimate half-lives and decay modes of unknown Pb isotopes. A comparison between $α$-decay and weak-decay from the stable to drip-line isotopes is canvassed which leads to the excellent match with experimental data and applicability of applied empirical formulas. In …
Alpha and cluster decay half lives for W isotopes in the range between 2p drip line and beta stability line are studied. The sensitivity of different Skyrme parametrizations in predicting the alpha decay and probable cluster decay modes from W isotopes have been analysed. The half lives are calculated using UDL. Predicted half lives are compared with ELDM and also with available experimental values. The study also revealed the role of neutron shell closure in cluster decay process.
We studed alpha decay half-lives of Pb isotopes in the range 178 < A > 220, whithin Gamow-like model (GLM) which is based on Gamow theory. The empirical formulae like Royer formula, Universal Decay Low (UDL), Viola-Seaborg formula (VSS), Semi-empirical formula for Poenaru (SemFIS) and Denisov-Khudenko formula (DEKH) are used to calculate alpha decay half-lives. The results are compared with experimental data, and also with other theoretical models, the results are in a good agreement was achieved with experimental data.
The feasibility of alpha and cluster decay from Pt isotopes has been investigated within the framework of Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Calculation has been carried out for various Skyrme forces. Harmonic oscillator and transformed harmonic oscillator basis are used to solve HFB equations. The role played by shell closure is withal analysed. Half-lives are estimated with the help of Universal Decay Law (UDL). Geiger-Nuttel plots are also plotted and successfully preserves its linear nature.
In the random-interaction ensembles, electromagnetic moments of Cd $I^π=11/2^-$ isomers predominately present linear systematics as changing the neutron number, which has been reported in realistic nuclear system. Quadrupole-like and $δ$-like $pn$ interaction are responsible for such linear systematics of quadrupole and magnetic moments, respectively.
We show for the first time that the generalized seniority scheme explains reasonably well the $B(E3)$ systematics for the $(0^+ \rightarrow 3_1^-)$ transitions in the Sn-isotopes, which are odd-tensor $E3$ transitions connecting different seniority states ($Δv = 2$). Additionally, we also present Large Scale Shell Model (LSSM) calculations to support our interpretation. The generalized seniority scheme points to the octupole character of these $3^-$ states in Sn isotopes.
The $α$ particle and $^6$He emissions from possible molecular states in beryllium and carbon isotopes have been studied using a mean-field-type cluster potential. Calculations can reproduce well the $α$-decay widths of excited states in $^{8}$Be, $^{12}$C and $^{20}$Ne. For the nucleus $^{10}$Be, we discussed the $α$-decay widths with different shapes or decay modes, in order to understand the very different decay widths of two excited states. The widths of $^{6}$He decay from $^{12}$Be and $α$ decays from $^{13,14}$C are predicted, which could be useful for future experiments.
In this work we studied $β$-decay properties for deformed neutron-rich nuclei in the region Z=36-43. We use the deformed pn-QRPA methods with the realistic CD-Bonn forces, and include both the Gamow-Teller and first-forbidden types of decays in the calculation. The obtained $β$-decay half-lives and neutron-emission probabilities of deformed isotopes are compared with experiment as well as with previous calculations. The advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed.
Continuum coupling correction to binding energies in the neutron rich oxygen and fluorine isotopes is studied using the Shell Model Embedded in the Continuum. We discuss the importance of different effects, such as the position of one-neutron emission threshold, the effective interaction or the number of valence particles on the magnitude of this correction.
Gamow-Teller strength distributions, beta-decay half-lives, and beta-delayed neutron emission are investigated in neutron-rich Zr and Mo isotopes within a deformed quasiparticle random-phase approximation. The approach is based on a self-consistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean field with pairing correlations and residual separable particle-hole and particle-particle forces. Comparison with recent measurements of half-lives stresses the important role that nuclear deformation plays in the description of beta-decay properties in this mass region.
In the unknown territory of transfermium nuclei, the relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory has been applied to probe decay modes which include $α$-decay, spontaneous fission (SF), and a less explored weak-decay. These decay modes are analyzed on equal footing for 101$\leq$Z$\leq$109 and as a consequence, the half-lives for weak-decay are indeed found comparable for several isotopes. Our prediction of decay modes and half-lives are found in excellent agreement with available experimental decay modes and half-lives along with the results of some other theories. Out of $α$, $β^+$/EC, $β^-$, and SF…
We study ground states and beta decay properties of the proton rich isotope chains Ge, Se, Kr, and Sr. We use a deformed selfconsistent HF+RPA approach with density-dependent effective interactions of Skyrme type. We find that most of the isotopes present two HF minima corresponding to two different shapes. In addition to static quadrupole moments and other ground state band properties, we present results for Gamow-Teller strength distributions, as well as for half-lives and summed strengths. The role of deformation is particularly emphasized.
A systematic study for 2$^+_1$ and 4$^+_1$ energies for even-even $^{20-32}$Mg by means of large-scale shell model calculations using the effective interaction USDB and USDBPN with SD and SDPN model space respectively. The reduced transition probability {\em B}({\em E}2;$\uparrow$) were also calculated for the chain of Mg isotopes.Very good agreement were obtained by comparing the first 2$^+_1$ and 4$^+_1$ levels for all isotopes with the recently available experimental data and with the previous theoretical work using 3DAMP+GCM model, but studying the transition strengths {\em B}({\em E}2; 0$…
The properties of recently predicted thermally fissile Th and U isotopes are studied within the framework of relativistic mean field (RMF) approach using axially deformed basis. We calculated the ground, first intrinsic excited state and matter density for highly neutron-rich thorium and uranium isotopes. The possible modes of decay like $α$-decay and $β$-decay are analyzed. We found that the neutron-rich isotopes are stable against $α$-decay, however they are very much unstable against $β$-decay. The life time of these nuclei predicted to be tens of second against $β$-decay. If these nuclei u…
Gamow-Teller strength distributions and beta-decay half-lives in neutron-deficient Kr and Sr isotopes are investigated within a deformed quasiparticle random phase approximation. The approach is based on a selfconsistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean field with pairing correlations and residual separable particle-hole and particle-particle forces. A simple two-level model is used to mix the nuclear shapes into the physical ground state. Good agreement with experiment is found with shape mixing coefficients which are consistent with those obtained phenomenologically from mixing of rotational bands.
We carry out a systematic study of electric dipole mode (E1) for neutron-rich isotopes from nickel (Z=28) to tin (Z=50) using a time-dependent mean-field theory. Our time-dependent scheme is the canonical-basis time-dependent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory which can self-consistently describe nuclear dynamics with pairing correlation. We focus our discussion on the pygmy dipole resonance (PDR) and E1 polarizability. The correlation between neutron-skin thickness and PDR strongly depends on the neutron number, but the correlation between the skin thickness and E1 polarizability is much more sta…

The underlying mean field is described self-consistently from deformed Skyrme Hartree-Fock calculations with pairing correlations. Residual spin-isospin interactions in the particle-hole and particle-particle channels are also included in the formalism. The energy distributions of the Gamow-Teller strength, the beta-decay feedings, the beta-decay half-lives, and the beta-delayed neutron emission probabilities are discussed and compared with other …
A systematic study of the ground state properties of transitional nuclei W, Os and Pt is conducted with the help of Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Different Skyrme interactions are employed in the study. Two different bases, harmonic oscillator and transformed harmonic oscillator, are used in our investigation. 2n-separation energy, charge radii, neutron and proton rms radii, neutron skin thickness and deformation parameter have been estimated. The results obtained are in good agreement with the available experimental values.
The structure of odd-$A$ $^{(115,117)}$Rh and $^{(115,117)}$Pd isotopes is studied by means of the neutron-proton Interacting Boson-Fermion Model (IBFM-2). $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^+$ quantum number assignment for the $^{(115,117)}$Pd ground-states is critically discussed and the predicted energy levels are compared to the existing experimental data. The resulting nuclear wave functions are used to compute the $β$-decay $ft$ values of the transitions from $^{(115,117)}$Rh to $^{(115,117)}$Pd in the microscopic IBFM-2 and the results compared with the data.
Bulk and decay properties, including deformation energy curves, charge mean square radii, Gamow-Teller (GT) strength distributions, and beta-decay half-lives, are studied in neutron-deficient even-even and odd-A Hg and Pt isotopes. The nuclear structure is described microscopically from deformed quasiparticle random-phase approximation calculations with residual interactions in both particle-hole and particle-particle channels, performed on top of a self-consistent deformed quasiparticle Skyrme Hartree-Fock basis. The observed sensitivity of the, not yet measured, GT strength distributions to …

The calculation is dones for various isotopes of Z = 115 element, starting from A = 272 to A = 292. A systematic comparison between the binding energies and experimental data is made. The calculated binding energies are in good agreement with experimental result. The results show the prolate deformation for the ground state of these nuclei. The most stable isotope is found to be 282115 nucleus (N = 167) …
The systematics of one-quasiparticle configurations in neutron-rich Sr, Zr, and Mo odd isotopes is studied within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov plus Equal Filling Approximation method preserving both axial and time reversal symmetries. Calculations based on the Gogny energy density functional with both the standard D1S parametrization and the new D1M incarnation of this functional are included in our analysis. The nuclear deformation and shape coexistence inherent to this mass region are shown to play a relevant role in the understanding of the spectroscopic features of the ground and low-lying …
Four groups (even-even, even-odd, odd-even and odd-odd) of heavy and super-heavy nuclei are of interest for the synthesis of the isotopes with $Z=119, 120$. We report calculations of $α$~decay half-lives using four models: AKRA (Akrawy); ASAF (Analytical Super-Asymmetric Fission); UNIV (Universal Formula), and semFIS (Semi-empirical formula based on Fission Theory). We compare the experimental $Q_α$ values either with AME16 atomic mass evaluation (whenever available) and with the theoretical model WS4, able to give masses of not yet measured nuclides. For $^{92,94}$Sr cluster radioactivity of …
Spontaneous fission and alpha decay are the main decay modes for superheavy nuclei. The superheavy nuclei which have small alpha decay half-life compared to spontaneous fission half-life will survive fission and can be detected in the laboratory through alpha decay. We have studied the alpha decay half-life and spontaneous half-life of some superheavy elements in the atomic range Z = 100-130. Spontaneous fission half-lives of superheavy nuclei have been calculated using the phenomenological formula and the alpha decay half-lives using Viola-Seaborg-Sobiczewski formula (Sobiczewski et al. 1989)…
The effect of nuclear deformation on the energy distributions of the Gamow-Teller strength is studied in neutron-deficient Hg, Pb, and Po even isotopes. The theoretical framework is based on a self-consistent deformed Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean field with pairing correlations between like nucleons in BCS approximation and residual spin-isospin interactions treated in the proton-neutron quasiparticle random phase approximation. After a systematic study of the Gamow-Teller strength distributions in the low excitation energy region, relevant for beta-decay, we have identified the best candidates to…
The microscopically constrained relativistic mean field theory is used to investigate the superdeformation for Pb isotopes. The calculations show that there exists a clear superdeformed minimum in the potential energy surfaces with four different interactions NL3, PK1, TM1 and NLSH. The excitation energy, deformation and depth of well in the superdeformed minimum are comparable for four different interactions. Furthermore the trend for the change of the superdeformed excitation energy with neutron number is correctly reproduced. The calculated two-neutron separation energy in the ground state …
The ground-state properties of Zr and Sn isotopes are studied within the relativistic mean field theory. Zr and Sn isotopes have received tremendous attention due to various reasons, including the predicted giant halos in the neutron-rich Zr isotopes, the unique feature of being robustly spherical in the region of $^{100}$Sn $\sim$ $^{132}$Sn and the particular interest of Sn isotopes to nuclear astrophysics. Furthermore, four (semi-) magic neutron numbers, 40, 50, 82 and 126, make these two isotopic chains particularly important to test the pairing correlations and the deformations in a micro…
In this paper, beta-decay properties of even-even neutron-rich isotopes in the rare-earth mass region are studied within a microscopic theoretical approach based on a proton-neutron quasiparticle random-phase approximation. The underlying mean field is constructed selfconsistently from a deformed Hartree-Fock calculation with Skyrme interactions and pairing correlations to which particle-hole and particle-particle residual interactions are added. Nuclei in this mass region participate in the astrophysical rapid neutron capture process and are directly involved in the generation of the rare-ear…
Beta-decay properties of proton-rich odd-A and even-even Krypton isotopes are studied in the framework of a deformed selfconsistent Hartree-Fock calculation with density-dependent Skyrme forces, including pairing correlations between like nucleons in BCS approximation. Residual spin-isospin interactions are consistently included in the particle-hole and particle-particle channels and treated in Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation. The similarities and differences in the treatment of even-even and odd-A nuclei are stressed. Comparison to available experimental information is done for Gamow…
The observation and prediction of unusually depressed first excited 2^+_1 states in even-A neutron - rich isotopes of semi-magic Sn above 132Sn provide motivations for reviewing the problems related to the nuclear astrophysics in general. In the present work, the beta-decay rates of the exotic even Sn isotopes (134,136Sn) above the 132Sn core have been calculated as a function of temperature (T). In order to get the necessary ft values, B(GT) values corresponding to allowed Gamow Teller (GT-) beta-decay have been theoretically calculated using shell model. The total decay rate shows decrease w…
Producing rare isotopes through statistical multifragmentation is investigated using the Mekjian method for exact solutions of the canonical ensemble. Both the initial fragmentation and the the sequential decay are modeled in such a way as to avoid Monte Carlo and thus provide yields for arbitrarily scarce fragments. The importance of sequential decay, exact particle-number conservation and the sensitivities to parameters such as density and temperature are explored. Recent measurements of isotope ratios from the fragmentation of different Sn isotopes are interpreted within this picture.
We study the role of intruder states and shape coexistence in the even-even $^{190-206}$Po isotopes, through an interacting boson model with configuration mixing calculation. We analyzed the results in the light of known systematics on various observable in the Pb region, paying special attention to the unperturbed energy systematics and quadrupole deformation. We find that shape coexistence in the Po isotopes behaves in very much the same way as in the Pt isotopes, i.e., it is somehow hidden, contrary to the situation in the Pb and the Hg isotopes.

The underlying mean field is described self-consistently from deformed Skyrme Hartree-Fock calculations with pairing correlations. Residual interactions in the particle-hole and particle-particle channels are also included in the formalism. The isotopic evolution of the various nuclear equilibrium shapes and the corresponding charge radii are investigated in all…
We systematically analyze total reaction cross sections of carbon isotopes with N=6--16 on a $^{12}$C target for wide range of incident energy. The intrinsic structure of the carbon isotope is described by a Slater determinant generated from a phenomenological mean-field potential, which reasonably well reproduces the ground state properties for most of the even $N$ isotopes. We need separate studies not only for odd nuclei but also for $^{16}$C and $^{22}$C. The density of the carbon isotope is constructed by eliminating the effect of the center of mass motion. For the calculations of the cro…
Ground and isomeric states of the neutron-deficient odd-$A$ isotopes $^{183}$Hg, $^{185}$Hg, and $^{187}$Hg are described from a microscopic calculation based on a self-consistent, axially-deformed Hartree-Fock mean field with the Skyrme functional and pairing within BCS approximation. For each equilibrium shape and different odd-neutron states, results on mean square charge radii and magnetic dipole moments are given and analyzed in the context of their sensitivity to the nuclear deformation and to the spin and parity. Spin-isospin correlations within proton-neutron quasiparticle random phase…
Superheavy isotopes are highly neutron rich nuclei in the vicinity of neutron drip-line, stabilized by shell effect against the instability due to repulsive component of nuclear force, analogous to superheavy elements similarly stabilized against Coulomb instability. Here we discuss the stability and fission decay properties of such nuclei in the $^{254}$Th region and show that they are stable against $α$ and fission decay and have $β$-decay life time of several tens of seconds. In particular, the $^{254}$Th nucleus has a low fission barrier and unusally large barrier width. This makes it an i…
We compute the populations of isotopes of Boron, Carbon and Nitrogen measured experimentally in intermediate energy heavy ion collisions. A two component soluble statistical model is used to find the initial populations of different nuclei at a finite temperature. These initial populations are both in particle stable and particle unstable states. The particle unstable states then decay. The final populations after these decays are computed and compared with experimental data.
The calculations of the alpha decay half-lives of some Polonium isotopes in the mass range 186 - 218 have been carried out using the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) semiclassical approximation. The alpha-nucleus effective potential used contains the Coulomb potential, centrifugal potential, and the nuclear potential. The nuclear potential is obtained via the double folding model, with the microscopic NN effective interactions derived from relativistic mean field theory Lagrangian (termed R3Y). Different parametrizations of the R3Y interactions have been employed in the computation of the nucle…
First-forbidden (FF) transitions can play an important role in decreasing the calculated half-lives specially in environments where allowed Gamow-Teller (GT) transitions are unfavored. Of special mention is the case of neutron-rich nuclei where, due to phase-space amplification, FF transitions are much favored. We calculate the allowed GT transitions in various pn-QRPA models for even-even neutron-rich isotopes of nickel. Here we also study the effect of deformation on the calculated GT strengths. The FF transitions for even-even neutron-rich isotopes of nickel are calculated assuming the nucl…
Systematic analysis of the deformations of proton and neutron densities in even-even C isotopes was done based on the method of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. The $E2$ transition strength was discussed in relation to the deformation. We analyze the $B(E2;2^+_1\to 0^+_1)$ in $^{16}$C, which has been recently measured to be abnormally small. The results suggest the difference of the deformations between proton and neutron densities in the neutron-rich C isotopes. It was found that stable proton structure in C isotopes plays an important role in the enhancement the neutron skin structure as …
Proton-rich nuclei possess unique properties in the nuclear chart. Due to the presence of both continuum coupling and Coulomb interaction, phenomena such as halos, Thomas-Ehrman shift, and proton emissions can occur. Experimental data are difficult to be obtained therein, so that theoretical calculations are needed to understand nuclei at drip-lines and guide experimentalists for that matter. In particular, the $^{16}$Ne and $^{18}$Mg isotopes are supposed to be one-proton and/or two-proton emitting nuclei, but associated experimental data are either incomplete or even unavailable. Consequentl…
The ground state and first intrinsic excited state of superheavy nuclei with Z=120 and N=160-204 are investigated using both non-relativistic Skyrme-Hartree-Fock and the axially deformed Relativistic Mean Field formalisms. We employ a simple BCS pairing approach for calculating the energy contribution from pairing interaction. The results for isotopic chain of binding energy, quadrupole deformation parameter, two neutron separation energies and some other observables are compared with the FRDM and some recent macroscopic-microscopic calculations. We predict superdeformed ground state solutions…
We present systematic large-scale shell-model calculations for Rn isotopes with $A=$ 207 to 216. For the $^{207-212}$Rn isotopes, we perform calculations with KHH7B interaction, while for $^{213-216}$Rn isotopes with KHPE and KHH7B interactions. The calculated energies and electromagnetic properties are compared with the available experimental data and predicted where experimental data are not available. We also suggest spins and parities of several unconfirmed states available from the recent experimental data. Comprehensive study of several isomeric states from the calculated shell-model con…
Microscopic investigations for the observed properties of the recently reported five unstable new isotopes are carried out. The ground state properties are calculated in the relativistic mean field (RMF) framework and the results reproduce the experiment well as expected. The α - decay lifetimes are calculated in the double folding model using WKB approximation which requires the relevant Q values of α - decay and the α - daughter potential. The latter is obtained by folding the effective M3Y nucleon nucleon potential with the RMF nucleon density distributions for the daughter nucleus and that…
Amongst iron regime nuclei, $β$-decay rates on titanium isotopes are considered to be important during the late phases of evolution of massive stars. The key $β$-decay isotopes during presupernova evolution were searched from available literature and a microscopic calculation of the decay rates were performed using the proton-neutron quasiparticle random phase approximation (pn-QRPA) theory. As per earlier simulation results electron capture and $β$-decay on certain isotopes of titanium are considered to be important for the presupernova evolution of massive stars. Earlier the stellar electron…
First-forbidden (FF) charge-changing transitions become relatively important for nuclei as their proton number increases. This is because the strength of allowed Gamow-Teller (GT) transitions decreases with increasing Z. The FF transitions play an important role in reducing the half-lives as against those calculated from taking the GT transitions alone into account. In this paper we calculate allowed GT as well as $0^{+} \rightarrow 0^{-}$ and $0^{+} \rightarrow 2^{-}$ transitions for neutron-rich Zn and Ge isotopes. Two different pn-QRPA models were used with a schematic separable interaction…
An influence of the phonon-phonon coupling (PPC) on the $β$-decay half-lives and multi-neutron emission probabilities is analysed within the microscopic model based on the Skyrme interaction with tensor components included. The finite-rank separable approximation is used in order to handle large two-quasiparticle spaces. The even-even nuclei near the r-process pathes at $N=82$ are studied. The characteristics of ground states, $2^+$ excitations and $β$-decay strength of the neutron-rich Cd isotopes are treated in detail. It is shown that a strong redistribution of the Gamow-Teller strength due…

In this article we report the results of detailed interacting boson model calculations with configuration mixing for the neutron-deficient Pb isotopes. Calculated energy levels and $B(E2)$ values for $^{188-196}$Pb are discussed and some care is suggested concerning the current classification on the basis of level systematics of the $4_1^+$ and $6_1^+$ states in $^{190-194}$Pb. Furthermore, quadrupole deformations are extracted for $^{186-196}$Pb and the mixing between the different families (0p-0h, 2p-2h, and 4p-4h) is discussed in detail. Finally, the experimental and the theoretical level s…
Weak decays in superheavy nuclei with proton numbers Z = 118 - 120 and neutron numbers N = 175 - 184 are studied within a microscopic formalism based on deformed self-consistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean-field calculations with pairing correlations. The half-lives of beta+ decay and electron capture are compared with alpha-decay half-lives obtained from phenomenological formulas. The sensitivity of the half-lives to the unknown Q-energies is studied by comparing the results obtained from different approaches for the masses. It is shown that alpha-decay is always dominant in this mass region. Th…
The structure of neutron-rich Cr isotopes is systematically investigated by using the spherical shell model. The calculations reproduce well the known energy levels for the even-even $^{52-62}$Cr and odd-mass $^{53-59}$Cr nuclei, and predict a lowering of excitation energies around neutron number N=40. The calculated $B(E2;2_{1}^{+}\to 0_{1}^{+})$ systematics shows a pronounced collectivity around N=40; a similar characteristic behavior has been suggested for Zn and Ge isotopes. Causes for the sudden drop of the $9/2_{1}^{+}$ energy in $^{59}$Cr and the appearance of very low $0_{2}^{+}$ state…
We have calculated the binding energy, root-mean-square radius and quadrupole deformation parameter for the recently synthesized superheavy element Z=117, using the axially deformed relativistic mean field (RMF) model. The calculation is extended to various isotopes of Z=117 element, strarting from A=286 till A=310. We predict almost spherical structures in the ground state for almost all the isotopes. A shape transition appears at about A=292 from prolate to a oblate shape structures of Z=117 nucleus in our mean field approach. The most stable isotope (largest binding energy per nucleon) is f…
