We consider the Dirichlet series associated to the number of representations of an integer as the sum of primes. Assuming the Riemann hypothesis on the distribution of the zeros of the Riemann zeta function we obtain the domain of meromorphic continuation of this series.
We consider a function-field analogue of Dirichlet series associated with the Goldbach counting function, and prove that it can, or cannot, be continued meromorphically to the whole plane. When it cannot, we further prove the existence of the natural boundary of it.
Spectral decomposition of pseudo-cuspforms, and meromorphic continuation of Eisenstein series, on $\mathbb{Q}$-rank one arithmetic quotients
Eisenstein series are ubiquitous in the theory of automorphic forms. The traditional proofs of the meromorphic continuation of Eisenstein series, due to Selberg and Langlands, start with cuspidal Eisenstein series as a special case, and deduce the general case from spectral theory. We present a "soft" proof which relies only on rudimentary Fredholm theory (needed only in the number field case). It is valid for Eisenstein series induced from an arbitrary automorphic form. The proof relies on the principle of meromorphic continuation. It is close in spirit to Selberg's later proofs.
We introduce the zeta function of the prehomogenous vector space of binary cubic forms, twisted by the real analytic Eisenstein series. We prove the meromorphic continuation of this zeta function and identify its poles and their residues. We also identify the poles and residues of the zeta function when restricted to irreducible binary cubic forms. This zeta function can be used to prove the equidistribution of the lattice shape of cubic rings.
We review some topics in the analytic theory of Eisenstein series, including meromorphic continuation, $L^2$-spectral expansion and Fourier coefficients. We also discuss some open problems.
We consider a Dirichlet series $\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}a_n^{-s}$, where $a_n$ satisfies a linear recurrence of arbitrary degree with integer coefficients. Under suitable hypotheses, we prove that it has a meromorphic continuation to the complex plane, giving explicit formulas for its pole set and residues, as well as for its finite values at negative integers, which are shown to be rational numbers. To illustrate the results, we focus on some concrete examples which have also been studied previously by other authors.
In this rather computational paper, we determine certain representation numbers of ideals in real quadratic number fields explicitly in order to obtain a representation of the associated Dirichlet series in terms of Dirichlet L-functions and a generalized divisor sum. A direct and important consequence is that the Dirichlet series has a meromorphic continuation to the whole complex plane and a simple pole at $s=2$ whose residue can be made explicit in terms of the Dirichlet L-functions and the generalized divisor sum.
Let $π=π_1 \otimes π_2 \otimes π_3$ be a unitary cuspidal automorphic representation of $\mathrm{GL}_3^3(\mathbb{A}_F)$ where $F$ is a number field. Assume that $π$ is everywhere tempered. Under suitable local hypotheses, for a sufficiently large finite set of places $S$ of $F$ we prove that the triple product $L$-function $L^S(s,π,\otimes^3)$ admits a meromorphic continuation to $\mathrm{Re}(s) >\tfrac{1}{2}$. We also give some information about the possible poles.
Let G be the group of points of a quasi-split reductive algebraic group over a local field F. It follows from the local Langlands conjectures that to every non-trivial additive character of F and every representation of the Langlands dual group of F one can associate certain meromorphic function on the set of isomorphism classed of irreducible representations of G (which we call gamma-functions). In this paper we describe a general framework for an explicit construction of these gamma-functions. We make this idea precise in certain special cases. As a byproduct we give explicit conjectural for…
We study the theta function and the Hurwitz-type zeta function associated to the Lucas sequence $U=\{U_n(P,Q)\}_{n\geq 0}$ of the first kind determined by the real numbers $P,Q$ under certain natural assumptions on $P$ and $Q$. We deduce an asymptotic expansion of the theta function $θ_U(t)$ as $t\downarrow 0$ and use it to obtain a meromorphic continuation of the Hurwitz-type zeta function $ζ_{U}\left( s,z\right) =\sum\limits_{n=0}^{\infty }\left(z+U_{n}\right) ^{-s}$ to the whole complex $s-$plane. Moreover, we identify the residues of $ζ_{U}\left( s,z\right)$ at all poles in the half-plane …
