We study the evolution of anticanonical line bundles along the
Kähler Ricci flow. We show that under some conditions, the convergence of
Kähler Ricci flow is determined by the properties of the anticanonical divisors of $M$. As examples, the Kähler Ricci flow on $M$ converges when $M$ is a Fano surface and $c_1^2(M)=1$ or $c_1^2(M)=3$.
Combined with the work in \cite{CW1} and \cite{CW2}, this gives a Ricci flow proof of the Calabi conjecture on Fano surfaces with reductive automorphism groups. The original proof of this conjecture is due to Gang Tian.
Let $M^n$ be a compact K$\ddot{a}$hler manifold with almost nonnegative Ricci curvature and nonzero first Betti number. We show that the holomorphic Euler number of $M^n$ vanishes, which gives a new obstruction for compact complex manifolds admitting K$\ddot{a}$hler metrics with almost nonnegative Ricci curvature. A crucial step in the proof is to show a vanishing theorem of Dolbeault-Morse-Novikov cohomology.
In this paper we prove that for a complete, connected and oriented Käler affine manifold $(M,G)$ of dimension $n,$ if it is Kähler affine Ricci flat or the K$\ddot{a}$hler affine scalar curvature $S\equiv0,$ ($n\leq 5$), then the universal covering manifold $\widetilde{M}$ of $M$ is isometric to the Euclidean n-space $E^{n}$.
We develop a parabolic pluripotential theory on compact K{ä}hler manifolds, defining and studying weak solutions to degenerate parabolic complex Monge-Amp{è}re equations. We provide a parabolic analogue of the celebrated Bedford-Taylor theory and apply it to the study of the K{ä}hler-Ricci flow on varieties with log terminal singularities.
We show the properties of the blowup limits of \KRf solutions on Fano surfaces if Riemannian curvature is unbounded. As an application, on every toric Fano surface, we prove that \KRf converges to a Kähler Ricci soliton metric if the initial metric has toric symmetry. Therefore we give a new Ricci flow proof of existence of Kähler Ricci soliton metrics on toric surfaces.
In this paper, we prove that on a Fano $\mathbf G$-manifold $(M,J)$, the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of Kähler-Ricci flow with initial metric in $2πc_1(M)$ must be a $\mathbb Q$-Fano horosymmetric variety $M_\infty$, which admits a singular Kähler-Ricci soliton. Moreover, $M_\infty$ is a limit of $\mathbb C^*$-degeneration of $M$ induced by an element in the Lie algebra of Cartan torus of $\mathbf G$. A similar result can be also proved for Kähler-Ricci flows on any Fano horosymmetric manifolds. As an application, we generalize our previous result about the type II singularity of Kähler-Ricci flows…
We consider the space KR(n,F) of Kahler-Ricci solitons on n-dimensional Fano manifolds with Futaki invariant bounded by F. We prove a partial C^0 estimate for KR(n,F) as a generalization of the recent work of Donaldson-Sun for Fano Kahler-Einstein manifolds. In particular, any sequence in KR(n,F) has a convergent subsequence in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology to a Kahler- Ricci soliton on a Q-Fano variety with log terminal singularities.
We construct a canonical Hausdorff complex analytic moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Ricci solitons. This naturally enlarges the moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Einstein metrics, which was constructed by Odaka and Li-Wang-Xu. We discover a moment map picture for Kähler-Ricci solitons, and give complex analytic charts on the topological space consisting of Kähler-Ricci solitons, by studying differential geometric aspects of this infinite dimensional moment map. Some stacky words and arguments on Gromov-Hausdorff convergence help to glue them together in the holomorphic mann…
The purpose of this paper is to calculate the support of the multiplier ideal sheaves derived from the Kähler-Ricci flow on certain toric Fano manifolds with large symmetry. The early idea of this paper has already been in Appendix of \cite{futaki-sano0711}.
By establishing two general quadratic inequalities, we obtain some inequalities related to Ricci curvatures for Lagrangian submanifolds of K$\ddot{\mathrm{a}}$hler QCH-manifolds, which generalize some results for Lagrangian submanifolds of complex space forms.
We prove that for any $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety $X$, the special $\mathbb{R}$-test configuration that minimizes the $H$-functional is unique and has a K-semistable $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano central fibre $(W, ξ)$. Moreover there is a unique K-polystable degeneration of $(W, ξ)$. As an application, we confirm the conjecture of Chen-Sun-Wang about the algebraic-uniqueness for Kähler-Ricci flow limits on Fano manifolds, which implies that the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of the flow does not depend on the choice of initial Kähler metrics. The results are achieved by studying algebraic optimal degeneration prob…
For any complete noncompact K$\ddot{a}$hler manifold with nonnegative and bounded holomorphic bisectional curvature,we provide the necessary and sufficient condition for non-ancient solution to the Ricci flow in this paper.
A short proof of the convergence of the Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds admitting a Kahler-Einstein metric or a Kahler-Ricci soliton is given, using a variety of recent techniques
In this article we prove the existence of Kahler-Ricci solitons on smoothable, K-stable Q-Fano varieties. We also investigate the behavior of twisted Kahler-Ricci solitons in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology under this smoothing family.
We consider Fano manifolds admitting an algebraic torus action with general orbit of codimension one. Using a recent result of Datar and Szekelyhidi, we effectively determine the existence of Kahler-Ricci solitons for those manifolds via the notion of equivariant K-stability. This allows us to give new examples of Kahler-Einstein Fano threefolds, and Fano threefolds admitting a non-trivial Kahler-Ricci soliton.
We study some estimates along the Kahler Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. Using these estimates, we show the convergence of Kahler Ricci flow directly if the $α$-invariant of the canonical class is greater than $\frac{n}{n+1}$. Applying these convergence theorems, we can give a flow proof of Calabi conjecture on such Fano manifolds. In particular, the existence of Kahler Einstein metrics on a lot of Fano surfaces can be proved by flow method. Note that this geometric conclusion (based on the same assumption) was established earlier via elliptic method by G. Tian. However, a new proof based on Kah…
In this short paper, we improve the result of Phong-Song-Sturm on degeneration of Fano Kähler-Ricci solitons by removing the assumption on the uniform bound of the Futaki invariant. Let $\mathcal{KR}(n)$ be the space of Kähler-Ricci solitons on $n$-dimensional Fano manifolds. We show that after passing to a subsequence, any sequence in $\mathcal{KR}(n)$ converge in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology to a Kähler-Ricci soliton on an $n$-dimensional $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety with log terminal singularities.
We establish a stability result for elliptic and parabolic complex Monge-Amp{è}re equations on compact K{ä}hler manifolds, which applies in particular to the K{ä}hler-Ricci flow. Dedicated to Jean-Pierre Demailly on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In this paper, we extend Tosatti's method to study the lower boundedness of modified $K$-energy on a Fano manifold and apply this result to study the relative $K$-stability of the deformation space of a Kähler Ricci soliton.
In this paper, we establish several sufficient and necessary conditions for the convergence of a Kähler-Ricci flow, on a Kähler manifold with positive first Chern class, to a Kähler-Einstein metric (or a shrinking Kähler-Ricci soliton).
We study the Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. We show that if the curvature is bounded along the flow and if the manifold is K-polystable and asymptotically Chow semistable, then the flow converges exponentially fast to a Kahler-Einstein metric.
In this paper, we give an alternative proof for the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano mnaifold $(M,J)$. This proof differs from that in [TZ3]. Moreover, we generalize the main theorem of [TZ3] to the case that $(M,J)$ may not admit any Kähler-Einstein metrics.
In this paper, we prove that a sequence of weak almost Kähler-Ricci solitons under further suitable conditions converge to a Kähler-Ricci soliton with complex codimension of singularities at least 2 in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology. As a corollary, we show that on a Fano manifold with the modified K-energy bounded below, there exists a sequence of weak almost Kähler-Ricci solitons which converge to a Kähler-Ricci soliton with complex codimension of singularities at least 2 in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology.
In this paper, we will establish a regularity theory for the Kähler-Ricci flow on Fano $n$-manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded in $L^p$-norm for some $p > n$. Using this regularity theory, we will also solve a long-standing conjecture for dimension 3. As an application, we give a new proof of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for Fano 3-manifolds. The results have been announced in \cite{TiZh12b}.
In this paper, we study the long-term behavior of the conical Kähler-Ricci flow on Fano manifold $M$. First, based on our work of locally uniform regularity for the twisted Kähler-Ricci flows, we obtain a long-time solution to the conical Kähler-Ricci flow by limiting a sequence of these twisted flows. Second, we study the uniform Perelman's estimates of the twisted Kähler-Ricci flows. After that, we prove that the conical Kähler-Ricci flow must converge to a conical Kähler-Einstein metric if there exists one.
In this paper, we prove that any solution of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano compactification $M$ of semisimple complex Lie group, is of type II, if $M$ admits no Kähler-Einstein metrics. As an application, we found two Fano compactifications of $\mathrm{SO}_4(\mathbb{C})$ and one Fano compactification of $\mathrm{Sp}_4(\mathbb{C})$, on which the Kähler-Ricci flow will develop singularities of type II. To the authors' knowledge, these are the first examples of Ricci flow with singularities of type II on Fano manifolds in the literature.
Let $(M^3,g_0)$ be a complete noncompact Riemannian 3-manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature and with injectivity radius bounded away from zero. Suppose that the scalar curvature $R(x)\to 0$ as $x\to \infty$. Then the Ricci flow with initial data $(M^3,g_0)$ has a long time solution. This extends a recent result of Ma and Zhu. We also have a higher dimensional version, and we reprove a K$\ddot{a}$hler analogy due to Chau, Tam and Yu.
We study the behavior of the Kähler-Ricci flow on compact manifolds developing finite-time singularities, in particular, when the flow contracts exceptional divisors or collapses the Fano fibers of a holomorphic fiber bundle. We present a technique using holomorphic vector fields to prove estimates related to the work of Song-Weinkove and Fu-Zhang.
In this short note we determine the greatest lower bounds on Ricci curvature for all Fano $T$-manifolds of complexity one, generalizing the result of Chi Li. Our method of proof is based on the work of Datar and Székelyhidi, using the description of complexity one special configurations given by Ilten and Süß.
We prove that on Fano manifolds, the Kähler-Ricci flow produces a "most destabilising" degeneration, with respect to a new stability notion related to the H-functional. This answers questions of Chen-Sun-Wang and He. We give two applications of this result. Firstly, we give a purely algebro-geometric formula for the supremum of Perelman's μ-functional on Fano manifolds, resolving a conjecture of Tian-Zhang-Zhang-Zhu as a special case. Secondly, we use this to prove that if a Fano manifold admits a Kähler-Ricci soliton, then the Kähler-Ricci flow converges to it modulo the action of automorphis…
In this paper, we study the uniformly strong convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold with varied initial metrics and smooth deformation complex structures. As an application, we prove the uniqueness of Kähler-Ricci solitons in sense of diffeomorphism orbits. The result generalizes Tian-Zhu's theorem for the uniqueness of of Kähler-Ricci solitons on a compact complex manifold, and it is also a generalization of Chen-Sun's result of for the uniqueness of of Kähler-Einstein metric orbits.
In this paper, we consider the twisted Kähler-Ricci soliton, and show that the existence of twisted Kähler-Ricci soliton with semi-positive twisting form is closely related to the properness of some energy functionals. We also consider the conical Kähler-Ricci soliton, and obtain some existence results. In particular, under some assumptions on the divisor and $α$-invariant, we get the properness of the modified log K-energy and the existence of conical Kähler-Ricci soliton with suitable cone angle.
We prove the existence of Kahler-Einstein metric on a K-stable Fano manifold using the recent compactness result on Kahler-Ricci flows. The key ingredient is an algebro-geometric description of the asymptotic behavior of Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. This is in turn based on a general finite dimensional discussion, which is interesting in its own and could potentially apply to other problems. As one application, we relate the asymptotics of the Calabi flow on a polarized Kahler manifold to K-stability assuming bounds on geometry.
In this paper, we extend the method in [TZhu5] to study the energy level $L(\cdot)$ of Perelman's entropy $λ(\cdot)$ for Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold. Consequently, we first compute the supremum of $λ(\cdot)$ in Kähler class $2πc_1(M)$ under an assumption that the modified Mabuchi's K-energy $μ(\cdot)$ defined in [TZhu2] is bounded from below. Secondly, we give an alternative proof to the main theorem about the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow in [TZhu3].
On a Fano manifold M we study the supremum of the possible t such that there is a Kähler metric in c_1(M) with Ricci curvature bounded below by t. This is shown to be the same as the maximum existence time of Aubin's continuity path for finding Kähler-Einstein metrics. We show that on P^2 blown up in one point this supremum is 6/7, and we give upper bounds for other manifolds.
We study pluripotential complex Monge-Ampère flows in big cohomology classes on compact K{ä}hler manifolds. We use the Perron method, considering pluripotential subsolutions to the Cauchy problem. We prove that, under natural assumptions on the data, the upper envelope of all subsolutions is continuous in space and semi-concave in time, and provides a unique pluripotential solution with such regularity. We apply this theory to study pluripotential K{ä}hler-Ricci flows on compact K{ä}hler manifolds of general type as well as on stable varieties.
We study the blowup behavior at infinity of the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold which does not admit Kahler-Einstein metrics. We prove an estimate for the Kahler potential away from a multiplier ideal subscheme, which implies that the volume forms along the flow converge to zero locally uniformly away from the same set. Similar results are also proved for Aubin's continuity method.
We explain a characterization of Einstein-Fano manifolds in terms of the lower bound of the density of the volume of the Kähler-Ricci Flow. This is a direct consequence of Perelman's uniform estimate for the Kähler-Ricci Flow and a $C^0$ estimate of Tian and Zhu.
In this paper, we prove the long-time existence and uniqueness of the conical Kähler-Ricci flow with weak initial data which admits $L^{p}$ density for some $p>1$ on Fano manifold. Furthermore, we study the convergence behavior of this kind of flow.
We obtain a compactness result for Fano manifolds and Kähler Ricci flows. Comparing to the more general Riemannian versions by Anderson and Hamilton, in this Fano case, the curvature assumption is much weaker and is preserved by the Kähler Ricci flows. One assumption is the boundedness of the Ricci potential and the other is the smallness of Perelman's entropy. As one application, we obtain a new local regularity criteria and structure result for Kähler Ricci flows. The proof is based on a Hölder estimate for the gradient of harmonic functions, which may be of independent interest.
We consider canonical metrics on Fano manifolds. First we introduce a norm-type functional on Fano manifolds, which has Kahler-Einstein or Kahler-Ricci soliton as its critical point and the Kahler-Ricci flow can be viewed as its (reduced) gradient flow. We then obtain a natural lower bound of this functional. As an application, we prove that Kahler-Ricci soliton, if exists, maximizes Perelman's $μ$-functional without extra assumptions. Second we consider a conjecture proposed by S.K. Donaldson in terms of $\cK$-energy. Our simple observation is that $\cF$-functional, as $\cK$-energy, also inte…
We prove the existence and uniqueness of Kähler-Einstein metrics on Q-Fano varieties with log terminal singularities (and more generally on log Fano pairs) whose Mabuchi functional is proper. We study analogues of the works of Perelman on the convergence of the normalized Kähler-Ricci flow, and of Keller, Rubinstein on its discrete version, Ricci iteration. In the special case of (non-singular) Fano manifolds, our results on Ricci iteration yield smooth convergence without any additional condition, improving on previous results. Our result for the Kähler-Ricci flow provides weak convergence in…
We introduce a flow of Kähler structures over Fano manifolds with formal limit at infinite time a Kähler-Ricci soliton. This flow correspond to a Perelman's modified backward Kähler-Ricci type flow that we call Soliton-Kähler-Ricci flow. It can be generated by the Soliton-Ricci flow. We assume that the Soliton-Ricci flow exists for all times and the Bakry-Emery-Ricci tensor preserve a positive uniform lower bound with respect to the evolving metric. In this case we show that the corresponding Soliton-Kähler-Ricci flow converges exponentially fast to a Kähler-Ricci soliton.
We examine various examples of horosymmetric manifolds which exhibit interesting properties with respect to canonical metrics. In particular, we determine when the blow-up of a quadric along a linear subquadric admits Kähler-Einstein metrics, providing infinitely many examples of manifolds with no Kähler-Ricci solitons that are not K-semistable. Using a different construction, we provide an infinite family of Fano manifolds with no Kähler-Einstein metrics but which admit coupled Kähler-Einstein metrics. Finally, we elaborate on the relationship between Kähler-Ricci solitons and the more genera…
We study the behavior of the Kähler-Ricci flow on some Fano bundle which is a trivial bundle on one Zariski open set. We show that if the fiber is $\mathbb{P}^{m}$ blown up at one point or some weighted projective space blown up at the orbifold point and the initial metric is in a suitable kähler class, then the fibers collapse in finite time and the metrics converge sub-sequentially in Gromov-Hausdorff sense to a metric on the base.
We study the behavior under Gromov-Hausdorff convergence of the spectrum of weighted $\barpartial$-Laplacian on compact Kähler manifolds. This situation typically occurs for a sequence of Fano manifolds with anticanonical Kähler class. We apply it to show that, if an almost smooth Fano-Ricci limit space admits a Kähler-Ricci limit soliton and the space of all $L^2$ holomorphic vector fields with smooth potentials is a Lie algebra with respect to the Lie bracket, then the Lie algebra has the same structure as smooth Kähler-Ricci solitons. In particular if a $\Q$-Fano variety admits a Kähler-Ric…
