A model of compact object coupled to inhomogeneous anisotropic dark energy is studied. It is assumed a variable dark energy that suffers a phase transition at a critical density. The anisotropic Lambda-Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations are integrated to know the structure of these objects. The anisotropy is concentrated on a thin shell where the phase transition takes place, while the rest of the star remains isotropic. The family of solutions obtained depends on the coupling parameter between the dark energy and the fermion matter. The solutions share several features in common with the gravastar model. There is a critical coupling parameter that gives non-singular black hole solutions. The mass-radius relations are studied as well as the internal structure of the compact objects. The hydrodynamic stability of the models is analyzed using a standard test from the mass-radius relation. For each permissible value of the coupling parameter there is a maximum mass, so the existence of black holes is unavoidable within this model.
Some anisotropic Bianchi V dark energy models are investigated in a scale invariant theory of gravity. We consider two non interacting fluids such as dark energy and a bulk viscous fluid. Dark energy pressure is considered to be anisotropic in different spatial directions. A dynamically evolving pressure anisotropy is obtained from the models. The models favour phantom behaviour. It is observed that, in presence of dark energy, bulk viscosity has no appreciable affect on the cosmic dynamics.
The possibility of strange stars mixed with dark energy to be one of the candidates for dark energy stars is the main issue of the present study. Our investigation shows that quark matter acts as dark energy after a certain yet unknown critical condition inside the quark stars. Our proposed model reveals that strange stars mixed with dark energy feature a physically acceptable stable model mimic characteristics of dark energy stars. The plausible connections are shown through the mass-radius relation as well as the entropy and temperature. We particularly note that a two-fluid distribution is …
In this paper, we present a model of transitioning universe with minimal interaction between perfect fluid and anisotropic dark energy in Bianchi I space-time. The two sources are assumed to minimally interacted and therefore their energy momentum tensors are conserved separately. The explicit expression for average scale factor are considered in hybrid form that gives time varying deceleration parameter which describes both the early and late time physical features of universe. We also discuss the physical and geometrical properties of the model derived in this paper. The solution is interest…
We discuss a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type-I space-time with two fluids as the content of the Universe: matter and holographic dark energy in the framework of general relativity. To get the exact solutions of Einstein's field equations, we choose the scale factor as a hyperbolic function, specifically, $a\left( t\right) =\sinh ^{\frac{1}{n}}\left( γt\right) $, where $γ$ and $n>0$ are arbitrary constants, which gives us a time-dependent deceleration parameter. Then we study our cosmological model under the conditions of the parameters as: $γ$ fixed and $n>1$. Our cosmologic…
This paper studies generalized Ellis-Bronikov (E-B) traversable wormholes in $f(R)$ extended gravity. We assume that these wormholes are supported by anisotropic dark matter (DM) according to the most often used phenomenological models, namely those of Navarro-Frenk-White (NFW), Thomas-Fermi (T-F), and Pseudo-isothermal (PI). Initially, we obtain the field equations in a general scenario of $f(R)$ theories in the metric formalism for the static and spherically symmetric Morris-Thorne spacetime. Then we particularize to a $f(R)$ model with power-law, including the Starobinky modified gravity. F…
Recently introduced exact solution of the Einstein gravity coupled minimally to an anisotropic fluid representing dark matter can well represent supermassive black holes in galactic nuclei with realistic distribution of dark matter around the black hole, given by the Hernquist-like density distribution. For these fluid-hairy black hole spacetimes, properties of the gravitational radiation, quasinormal ringing, and optical phenomena were studied, giving interesting results. Here, using the range of physical parameters of these spacetimes allowing for their relevance in astrophysics, we study th…
Plane symmetric cosmological models are investigated with or without any dark energy components in the field equations. Keeping an eye on the recent observational constraints concerning the accelerating phase of expansion of the universe, the role of magnetic field is assessed. In the absence of dark energy components, magnetic field can favour an accelerating model even if we take a linear relationship between the directional Hubble parameters. In presence of dark energy components in the form of a time varying cosmological constant, the influence of magnetic field is found to be limited.
The properties of exotic stars are investigated. In particular, we study objects made entirely of dark matter and we take into account intrinsic anisotropies which have been ignored so far. We obtain exact analytical solutions to the structure equations and we we show that those solutions i) are well behaved within General Relativity, and ii) are capable of describing realistic astrophysical configurations.
We introduce a generalization of the usual vacuum energy, called `deformed vacuum energy', which yields anisotropic pressure whilst preserving zero inertial mass density. It couples to the shear scalar in a unique way, such that they together emulate the canonical scalar field with an arbitrary potential. This opens up a new avenue by reconsidering cosmologies based on canonical scalar fields, along with a bonus that the kinetic term of the scalar field is replaced by an observable, the shear scalar. We further elaborate the aspects of this approach in the context of dark energy.
We investigate the luminosity of the accretion disk for a static black hole surrounded by dark matter with anisotropic pressure. We calculate all basic orbital parameters of test particles in the accretion disk, such as angular velocity, angular momentum, energy and radius of the innermost circular stable orbit as functions of the dark matter density, radial pressure and anisotropic parameter, which establishes the relationship between the radial and tangential pressures. We show that the presence of dark matter with anisotropic pressure makes a noticeable difference in the geometry around a S…
It is always interesting to investigate how well can a future experiment perform with respect to others (present or future ones). Cosmology is really an exciting field where a lot of puzzles are still unknown. In this article we consider a generalized dark energy (DE) scenario where anisotropic stress is present. We constrain this generalized cosmic scenario with an aim to investigate how gravitational waves standard sirens (GWSS) may constrain the anisotropic stress, which according to the standard cosmological probes, remains unconstrained. In order to do this, we generate the luminosity dis…
We study a novel interacting dark energy $-$ dark matter scenario where the anisotropic stress of the large scale inhomogeneities is considered. The dark energy has a constant equation of state and the interaction model produces stable perturbations. The resulting picture is constrained using different astronomical data aiming to measure the impact of the anisotropic stress on the cosmological parameters. Our analyses show that a non-zero interaction in the dark sector is allowed while a non-interaction scenario is recovered within 68\% CL. The anisotropic stress is also constrained to be smal…
Anisotropic Signatures: Neutrinos -- Dark Energy Interaction and Its Effect on the Transition from Radiation to Matter, and Dark Energy Dominated Phases
We use anisotropic fluid cosmology to describe the present, dark energy-dominated, universe. Similarly to what has been proposed for galactic dynamics, the anisotropic fluid gives an effective description of baryonic matter, dark energy and their possible interaction, without assuming the presence of dark matter. The resulting anisotropic fluid spacetime naturally generates inhomogeneities at small scales, triggered by an anisotropic stress, and could therefore be responsible for structure formation at these scales. Solving the cosmological equations, we show that the dynamics of the scale fac…
We study superdense relativistic stars with anisotropic matter distributions with spheroidal spatial hypersurfaces. We propose a methodology to make an anisotropic generalization of the Vaidya-Tikekar superdense star model. The anisotropic Einstein field equations can be solved in terms of hypergeometric functions for our choice of gravitational potential and anisotropy. Particular parameter choices allow us to generate models of anisotropic stars in terms of elementary functions. Also, isotropic stars can be generated in the limit of vanishing anisotropy. In particular, we obtain the well kno…
In this paper, we have studied the new exact model of anisotropic star in $f(T)$ theory of gravity. The dynamical equations in $f(T)$ theory with the anisotropic fluid have been solved by using Krori-Barua solution. We have determined that all the obtained solutions are free from central singularity and potentially stable. The observed values of mass and radius of the different strange stars RX J 1856-37, Her X-1, and Vela X-12 have been used to calculate the values of unknown constants in Krori and Barua metric. The physical parameters like anisotropy, stability and redshift of the stars have…
A charged compact star models have been determined for anisotropic fluid distribution. We have solved the Einstein's- Maxwell field equations to construct the charged compact star models by using radial pressure, metric function $e^λ$ and electric charge function. The generic charged anisotropic solution is verified by exploring different physical conditions like, causality condition, mass-radius relation and stability of the solution (via. adiabatic index, TOV equations and Herrera cracking concept). It is observed that the present charged anisotropic compact star is compatible with the star …
In this paper, aniostropic dark energy cosmological models have been constructed in a Bianchi-V space-time with the energy momentum tensor consisting of two non-interacting fluids namely bulk viscous fluid and dark energy fluid. Two different models are constructed based on the power law cosmology and de Sitter universe. The constructed model also embedded with different pressure gradients along different spatial directions. The variable equation of state (EoS) parameter, skewness parameters for both the models are obtained and analyzed. The physical properties of the models obtained with the …
Tidal deformability of a coalescing neutron star subjected to an external tidal field plays an important role in our probe for the structure and properties of compact stars. In particular, the tidal love number provides valuable information about the external gravitational field responsible for deforming the star. In this article, we compute the tidal love number of a particular class of anisotropic stars and analyze the impacts of anisotropy and compactness on the tidal love number.
In the context of the dark energy scenario, the Einstein Yang-Mills Higgs model in the SO(3) representation was studied for the first time by M. Rinaldi (see JCAP 1510, 023 (2015)) in a homogeneous and isotropic spacetime. We revisit this model, finding in particular that the interaction between the Higgs field and the gauge fields generates contributions to the momentum density, anisotropic stress and pressures, thus making the model inconsistent with the assumed background. We instead consider a homogeneous but anisotropic Bianchi-I space-time background in this paper and analyze the corresp…
In the present article we have obtained new set of exact solutions of Einstein field equations for anisotropic fluid spheres by using the Herrera et al.[1] algorithm. The anisotropic fluid solution so obtained join continuously to Schwarzschild exterior solution across the pressure free boundary. It is observed that most of the new anisotropic solutions are well behaved and utilized to construct the super-dense star models such as neutron star and pulsars.
We study the dynamics of dark energy in the presence of a 2-form field coupled to a canonical scalar field $ϕ$. We consider the coupling proportional to $e^{-μϕ/M_{\rm pl}} H_{αβγ}H^{αβγ}$ and the scalar potential $V(ϕ) \propto e^{-λϕ/M_{\rm pl}}$, where $H_{αβγ}$ is the 2-form field strength, $μ, λ$ are constants, and $M_{\rm pl}$ is the reduced Planck mass. We show the existence of an anisotropic matter-dominated scaling solution followed by a stable accelerated fixed point with a non-vanishing shear. Even if $λ\geq {\cal O}(1)$, it is possible to realize the dark energy equation of state $w…

We analyze the state space of a Bianchi-I universe with anisotropic sources. Here we consider an extended state space which includes null geodesics in this background. The evolution equations for all the state observables are derived. Dynamical systems approach is used to study the evolution of these equations. The asymptotic stable fixed points for all the evolution equations are found. We also check our analytic results with numerical analysis of these dynamical equations. The evolution of the state observables are studied both in cosmic time and using a dimensionless time variable. Then we …
A new class of solution describing an anisotropic stellar configuration satisfying Karmarkar's condition i.e. spherically symmetric metric of embedding class 1, is reported. It has been shown that the compact star model is physically well-behaved and meet all the physical requirements for a stable configuration in hydrostatic equilibrium. Our model describes compact stars like Vela X-1 and 4U1608-52 to a very good approximation.
In this paper, we study the late time cosmology of a non-canonical scalar field ($k$-essence) coupled to a vector field in a Bianchi-I background. Specifically, we study three cases: canonical scalar field (quintessence) with exponential potential as a warm up, the dilatonic ghost condensate, and the Dirac Born Infeld field with exponentials throat and potential. By using a dynamical system approach, we show that anisotropic dark energy fixed points can be attractors for a suitable set of parameters of each model. We also numerically integrate the associated autonomous systems for particular i…
