We calculate the regional fractional Laplacian on some power function on an interval. As an application, we prove Hardy inequality with an extra term for the fractional Laplacian on the interval with the optimal constant. As a result, we obtain the fractional Hardy inequality with best constant and an extra lower-order term for general domains, following the method developed by M. Loss and C. Sloane [arXiv:0907.3054v1 [math.AP]]
We study the Hardy type inequalities in the framework of equalities. We present equalities which immediately imply Hardy type inequalities by dropping the remainder term. Simultaneously we give a characterization of the class of functions which makes the remainder term vanish. A point of our observation is to apply an orthogonality properties in general Hilbert space, and which gives a simple and direct understanding of the Hardy type inequalities as well as the nonexistence of nontrivial extremizers.
In the present paper we shall establish n-dimensional Hardy's inequalities with non-doubling weight functions of the distance to the boundary, where the boundary is a $C^2$ class bounded domain of $R^N$. This work is essentially based on one dimensional weighted Hardy's inequalities with one-sided boundary condition and sharp remainders. As weights we admit rather general ones that may vanish or blow up in infinite order such as $e^{-1/t}$ or $e^{1/t}$ at $t=0$ in one dimensional case.
In this paper we deal with a class of inequalities which interpolate the Kato's inequality and the Hardy's inequality in the half space. Starting from the classical Hardy's inequality in the half space $\rnpiu =\R^{n-1}\times(0,\infty)$, we show that, if we replace the optimal constant $\frac{(n-2)^2}{4}$ with a smaller one $\frac{(β-2)^2}{4}$, $2\le β<n$, then we can add an extra trace-term equals to that one that appears in the Kato's inequality. In this paper we study some improvements of the classical Hardy inequality. We add to the right hand side of the inequality a term which depends on some Lorentz norms of $u$ or of its gradient and we find the best values of the constants for remaining terms. In both cases we show that the problem of finding the optimal value of the constant can be reduced to a spherically symmetric situation. This result is new when the right hand side is a Lorentz norm of the gradient.
In this paper we establish several Hardy and Hardy-Sobolev type inequalities with homogeneous weights on the first orthant $\displaystyle \mathbb{R}_{*}^n:=\{(x_1, \ldots, x_n):x_1>0, \ldots, x_n>0 \}$. We then use some of them to produce Hardy type inequalities with remainder terms. Furthermore, we obtain some interpolation inequalities and Maz'ya type inequalities with remainder terms with the help of Maz'ya inequality and Sobolev inequality of Cabré and Ros-Orton on the upper half space $\mathbb{R}_{+}^n:=\{x=(x_1, \ldots, x_n)|\, x_n>0 \}$.
In this paper we study Hardy and Rellich type inequalities for Baouendi-Grushin vector fields : $\nabla_γ=(\nabla_x, |x|^{2γ}\nabla_y)$ where $γ>0$, $\nabla_x$ and $\nabla_y$ are usual gradient operators in the variables $x\in \mathbb{R}^m$ and $y\in\mathbb{R}^k$, respectively. In the first part of the paper, we prove some weighted Hardy type inequalities with remainder terms. In the second part, we prove two versions of weighted Rellich type inequality on the whole space. We find sharp constants for these inequalities. We also obtain their improved versions for bounded domains.
We give sharp remainder terms of $L^{p}$ and weighted Hardy and Rellich inequalities on one of most general subclasses of nilpotent Lie groups, namely the class of homogeneous groups. As consequences, we obtain analogues of the generalised classical Hardy and Rellich inequalities and the uncertainty principle on homogeneous groups. We also prove higher order inequalities of Hardy-Rellich type, all with sharp constants. A number of identities are derived including weighted and higher order types.

Firstly, this paper establishes useful forms of the remainder term of Hardy-type inequalities on general domains where the weights are functions of the distance to the boundary. We consider the series expansion of the $L^p$-Hardy inequality of \cite{BFT2}, in the particular case where the distance is taken from an interior point of a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^n$ and $1<p\neq n$. For $p<n$ we improve it by adding as a remainder term an optimally weighted critical Sobolev norm, generalizing the $p=2$ result of \cite{FT} and settling the open question raised in \cite{BFT1}. For $p>n$ we improve it by adding as a remainder term the optimally weighted Hölder seminorm, extending the Hardy-Morrey inequality of \cite{Ps} to the series case.
The paper gives an improvement of the Trudinger-Moser inequality, in which the constraint set is defined not by the squared gradient norm, but with the squared gradient norm minus a remainder term of the weighted L^p-type. In this note, we obtain a reverse version of the integral Hardy inequality on metric measure spaces. Moreover, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the weighted reverse Hardy inequality to be true. The main tool in our proof is a continuous version of the reverse Minkowski inequality. Also, we present some consequences of the obtained reverse Hardy inequality on the homogeneous groups, hyperbolic spaces and Cartan-Hadamard manifolds.
The Hardy-Sobolev trace inequality can be obtained via Harmonic extensions on the half-space of the Stein and Weiss weighted Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. In this paper we consider a bounded domain and study the influence of the boundary mean curvature in the Hardy-Sobolev trace inequality on the underlying domain. We prove existence of minimizers when the mean curvature is negative at the singular point of the Hardy potential.
We compute the optimal constant for a generalized Hardy-Sobolev inequality, and using the product of two symmetrizations we present an elementary proof of the symmetries of some optimal functions. This inequality was motivated by a nonlinear elliptic equation arising in astrophysics.
In this work we improve the sharp Hardy inequality in the case $p>n$ by adding an optimal weighted Hoelder semi-norm. To achieve this we first obtain a local improvement. In this paper, we prove Hardy-Leray inequality for three-dimensional solenoidal (i.e., divergence-free) fields with the best constant. To derive the best constant, we impose the axisymmetric condition only on the swirl components. This partially complements the former work by O. Costin and V. Maz'ya \cite{Costin-Mazya} on the sharp Hardy-Leray inequality for axisymmetric divergence-free fields.
In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of radial extremal functions to an inequality involving Hardy potential and critical Sobolev exponent. Based on the asymptotic behavior at the origin and the infinity, we shall deduce a strict inequality between two best constants. Finally, as an application of this strict inequality, we consider the existence of nontrivial solution of a quasilinear Brezis-Nirenberg type problem with Hardy potential and critical Sobolev exponent.
We study linear and non-linear equations related to the fractional Hardy--Sobolev inequality. We prove nondegeneracy of ground state solutions to the basic equation and investigate existence and qualitative properties, including symmetry of solutions to some perturbed equations.
We consider the second best constant in the Hardy-Sobolev inequality on a Riemannian manifold. More precisely, we are interested with the existence of extremal functions for this inequality. This problem was tackled by Djadli-Druet [5] for Sobolev inequalities. Here, we establish the corresponding result for the singular case. In addition, we perform a blow-up analysis of solutions Hardy-Sobolev equations of minimizing type. This yields informations on the value of the second best constant in the related Riemannian functional inequality.
We consider the best constant in the Rellich-Hardy inequality (with a radial power weight) for curl-free vector fields on $\mathbb{R}^N$, originally found by Tertikas-Zographopoulos \cite{Tertikas-Z} for unconstrained fields. This inequality is considered as an intermediate between Hardy-Leray and Rellich-Leray inequalities. Under the curl-free condition, we compute the new explicit best constant in the inequality and prove the non-attainability of the constant. This paper is a sequel to \cite{CF_MAAN,CF_Re}.
In this article, we prove a weighted Hardy inequality for $1<p<+\infty$ and dimension $d\ge1$. If $p>d$, then we can deduce from our weighted Hardy inequality a Poincaré inequality. The proof of the weighted Hardy inequality is based on the method of vector fields firstly introduced by Mitidieri \cite{MR1769903}. By the same method, we show for $1<p<+\infty$ and $d\ge1$ that weighted Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequalities hold true. As an application of our weighted Hardy inequality, we prove a non-existence result for a p-Kolmogorov parabolic equation.
Two-sided bounds for the efficiency of the torsion function are obtained in terms of the square of the distance to the boundary function under the hypothesis that the Dirichlet Laplacian satisfies a strong Hardy inequality. Localisation properties of the torsion function are obtained under that hypothesis. An example is analysed in detail.

We prove all the maximizers of the sharp Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality are smooth. More generally, we show all the nonnegative critical functions are smooth, radial with respect to some points and strictly decreasing in the radial direction. In particular, this resolves all the cases left open by previous works of Chen, Li and Ou on the corresponding integral systems.

This paper is mainly devoted to the study of the reversed Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev (HLS) inequality on Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^n$ and CR sphere $\mathbb{S}^{2n+1}$. First, we establish the roughly reversed HLS inequality and give a explicitly lower bound for the sharp constant. Then, the existence of the extremal functions with sharp constant is proved by subcritical approach and some compactness techniques. We prove an improved version of Poincaré-Hardy inequality in suitable subspaces of the Sobolev space on the hyperbolic space via Bessel pairs. As a consequence, we obtain a new Hardy type inequality with an improved constant (than the usual Hardy constant).
