The deconfinement phase transition from hadronic matter to quark matter in the interior of compact stars is investigated. The hadronic phase is described in the framework of relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory, when also the scalar- isovector $δ$-meson effective field is taken into account. To describe a quark phase the MIT bag model is used. The changes of the mixed phase threshold parameters caused by the presence of $δ$-meson field are investigated.
New parameter sets for the Lagrangian density in the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory, PK1 with nonlinear sigma- and omega-meson self-coupling, PK1R with nonlinear sigma-, omega- and rho-meson self-coupling and PKDD with the density-dependent meson-nucleon coupling, are proposed. They are able to provide an excellent description not only for the properties of nuclear matter but also for the nuclei in and far from the valley of beta-stability. For the first time in the parametrization of the RMF Lagrangian density, the center-of-mass correction is treated by a microscopic way, which is esse…
We develop a chiral SU(3) RMF model for octet baryons, as an extension of the recently developed chiral SU(2) RMF model with logarithmic sigma potential. For Sigma-meson coupling, strong repulsion(SR) and weak repulsion(WR) cases are examined in existing atomic shift data of Sigma^-. In both of these cases, we need an attractive pocket of a few MeV depth around nuclear surface.
The effects of strong magnetic fields on neutron star matter are investigated in the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model. The QMC model describes a nuclear many-body system as nonoverlapping MIT bags in which quarks interact through self-consistent exchange of scalar and vector mesons in the mean-field approximation. The results of the QMC model are compared with those obtained in a relativistic mean-field (RMF) model. It is found that quantitative differences exist between the QMC and RMF models, while qualitative trends of the magnetic field effects on the equation of state and composition of n…
We explore three different classes of relativistic approaches applied to the description of dense nuclear matter: a Walecka-type relativistic mean field model (RMF), an extension including an effective chiral potential (RMF-C) and a further extension with a chiral potential and confinement effects (RMF-CC). The parameters of the latter are controlled by fundamental properties such as the chiral potential, Lattice-QCD predictions, the quark sub-structure, as well as empirical properties at nuclear matter saturation. While these models are calibrated to the same properties at saturation density,…
Relativistic quantum molecular dynamics with scalar and vector interactions based on the relativistic mean meson field theory, RQMD.RMF, is developed. It is implemented into the microscopic transport code JAM.The sensitivity of the directed and of the elliptic proton flow in high energy heavy-ion collisions on the stiffness of the RMF equation of state (EoS) is examined. These new calculations are compared to experimental data at mid-central Au + Au collisions in the beam energy range $2.5 < \sqrt{s_{NN}} < 20$ GeV. This new RQMD model with the relativistic mean field scalar and vector meson in…
We study the hadron-quark phase transition in the interior of neutron stars. The relativistic mean field (RMF) theory is adopted to describe the hadronic matter phase, while the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model is used for the quark matter phase. The influence of the hadronic equation of state on the phase transition and neutron star properties are investigated. We find that a neutron star possesses a large population of hyperons, but it is not dense enough to possess a pure quark core. Whether the mixed phase of hadronic and quark matter exist in the core of neutron stars depends on the RMF par…
We have investigated the ground-state properties of carbon isotopes in the framework of the relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory. RMF calculations have been performed with the non-linear scalar self-coupling of the $σ$ meson using an axially symmetric deformed configuration. We have also introduced the vector self-coupling of the $ω$ meson for the deformed mean-field calculations. The results show that the RMF predictions on radii and deformations are in good agreement with the available experimental data. It is shown that several carbon isotopes possess a highly deformed shape akin to a super…
We study the effects of strong magnetic fields on antikaon condensation in neutron star matter using the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model. The QMC model describes a nuclear many-body system as nonoverlapping MIT bags in which quarks interact through the self-consistent exchange of scalar and vector mesons in the mean-field approximation. It is found that the presence of strong magnetic fields alters the threshold density of antikaon condensation significantly. The onset of $K^-$ condensation stronger depends on the magnetic field strength, and it even shifts beyond the threshold of $\bar K^0$ …
We propose a quantization procedure for the nucleon-scalar meson system, in which an arbitrary mean scalar meson field $ϕ$ is introduced. The equivalence of this procedure with the usual ones is proven for any given value of $ϕ$. By use of this procedure, the scalar meson field in the Walecka's RMFT and in Chin's RHA are quantized around the mean field. Its corrections on these theories are considered by perturbation up to the second order. The arbitrariness of $ϕ$ makes us free to fix it at any stage in the calculation. When we fix it in the way of Walecka's RMFT, the quantum corrections are …
We extend previous relativistic mean-field (RMF) calculations of multi-$\bar K$ nuclei, using vector boson fields with SU(3) PPV coupling constants and scalar boson fields constrained phenomenologically. For a given core nucleus, the resulting $\bar K$ separation energy $B_{\bar K}$, as well as the associated nuclear and $\bar K$-meson densities, saturate with the number $κ$ of $\bar K$ mesons for $κ> κ_{\rm sat} \sim 10$. Saturation appears robust against a wide range of variations, including the RMF nuclear model used and the type of boson fields mediating the strong interactions. Because $B…
Relativistic mean field (RMF) theory of nuclear matter with the isovector scalar mean field corresponding to the delta-meson [a_0(980)] is studied. While the delta-meson mean field vanishes in symmetric nuclear matter, it can influence properties of asymmetric nuclear matter in neutron stars. The RMF contribution due to delta-field to the nuclear symmetry energy is negative. To fit the empirical value, E_s=30 MeV, a stronger rho-meson coupling is required than in the absence of the delta-field. The energy per particle of neutron matter is then larger at high densities than the one with no delt…
It is shown that recently proposed RMF model with $σ$ and $δ$ meson interaction agrees with the observational data and presents an interesting structure with phase transition in the outer part of neutron star core.
Nucleon and meson effective masses in the nonlinear Relativistic Mean - Field Theory (RMF) introducing a nonlinear omega - rho and sigma coupling motivated by the Quark Meson Coupling model (QMC) is explored. It is shown that, in contrast to the usual Walecka model, not only the effective nucleon mass m_{eff,N} but also the effective sigma, rho meson masses (m_{eff, sigma}, m_{eff, rho}) and the effective omega meson mass m_{eff, omega} are nucleon density dependent.
We aim at drawing the hadron-quark phase transition line in the QCD phase diagram by using the two phase model (TPM) in which the entanglement Polyakov-loop extended Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (EPNJL) model with vector-type four-quark interaction is used for the quark phase and the relativistic mean field (RMF) model is for the hadron phase. Reasonable TPM is constructed by using lattice QCD data and neutron star observations as reliable constraints. For the EPNJL model, we determine the strength of vector-type four-quark interaction at zero quark chemical potential from lattice QCD data on quark num…
Nuclear effective interactions are considered as a vital tool to guide into the region of the high degree of isospin asymmetry and density. We take varieties of parameter sets of the RMF model to show the parametric dependence of the hyperon star properties. We add $ϕ_0$-meson to $σ$-$ω$-$ρ$ model. The effects of $ϕ_0$-meson on the equation of state and consequently on the maximum mass of the hyperon star are discussed. Due to the inclusion of $ϕ_0$-meson the threshold density of different hyperon production shift to higher density region. The effects of the hyperon-meson coupling constants on…
A Reflection ASymmetric Relativistic Mean Field (RAS-RMF) approach is developed by expanding the equations of motion for both the nucleons and the mesons on the eigenfunctions of the two-center harmonic-oscillator potential. The efficiency and reliability of the RAS-RMF approach are demonstrated in its application to the well-known octupole deformed nucleus $^{226}$Ra and the available data, including the binding energy and the deformation parameters, are well reproduced.
Based on the accurately calibrated interaction FSUGold, we show that including isovector scalar $δ$ meson and its coupling to isoscalar scalar $σ$ meson in the relativistic mean field (RMF) model can soften the symmetry energy $E_{\rm{sym}}(n)$ at intermediate densities while stiffen the $E_{\rm{sym}}(n)$ at high densities. We find this new RMF model can be simultaneously compatible with (1) the constraints on the equation of state of symmetric nuclear matter at suprasaturation densities from flow data in heavy-ion collisions, (2) the neutron skin thickness of $^{208}$Pb from the PREX-II exper…
The properties of the neutron stars are calculated for the hadronic matter within the density-dependent relativistic mean-field model (DD-RMF). The phase transition to the quark matter is studied and the hybrid star matter properties are systematically calculated using the Vector-Enhanced Bag model (vBag). The maximum mass of neutron star with DD-LZ1 and DD-RMF parameter sets is found to be around 2.55$M_{\odot}$ for pure hadronic phase and around 2$M_{\odot}$ for hadron-quark mixed phase using both Gibbs and Maxwell construction. The tidal deformability for the hybrid EoS at 1.4$M_{\odot}$, $…
In this paper, we compare the RMF theory and the model of deformed oscillator shells (DOS) in description of the quantum properties of the bound states of the spherically symmetric light nuclei. We obtain an explicit analytical relation between differential equations for the RMF theory and DOS model, which determine wave functions for nucleons. On such a basis we perform analysis of correspondence of quantum properties of nuclei. We find: (1) Potential $V_{RMF}$ of the RMF theory for nucleons has the wave functions $f$ and $g$ with joint part $h$ coincident exactly with the nucleon wave functi…
The relativistic mean field (RMF) model is applied to a system of nucleons and a $\bar K$ meson, interacting via scalar and vector boson fields. The model incorporates the standard RMF phenomenology for bound nucleons and, for the $\bar K$ meson, it relates to low-energy ${\bar K}N$ and $K^-$ atom phenomenology. Deeply bound $\bar K$ nuclear states are generated dynamically across the periodic table and are exhibited for $^{12}$C and $^{16}$O over a wide range of binding energies. Substantial polarization of the core nucleus is found for these light nuclei. Absorption modes are also included d…
The properties of the ground state of $^{178}$Hf and the isomeric state $^{178}$Hf$^{m2}$ are studied within the adiabatic and diabatic constrained relativistic mean field (RMF) approaches. The RMF calculations reproduce well the binding energy and the deformation for the ground state of $^{178}$Hf. Using the ground state single-particle eigenvalues obtained in the present calculation, the lowest excitation configuration with $K^π=16^+$ is found to be $ν(7/2^-[514])^{-1}(9/2^+[624])^{1}$ $π(7/2^+[404])^{-1}(9/2^-[514])^{1}$. Its excitation energy calculated by the RMF theory with time-odd fiel…
In this work we study the hadron-quark phase transition matching relativistic hadrodynamical mean-field models (in the hadronic phase) with the more updated versions of the Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio models (on the quark side). Systematic comparisons are performed showing that the predicted hadronic phases of the matching named as RMF-PNJL, are larger than the confined phase obtained exclusively by the Polyakov quark models. This important result is due to the effect of the nuclear force that causes more resistance of hadronic matter to isothermal compressions. For sake of comparison, we also…
The neutron star as a supernova remnant is attracting high attention recently due to the gravitation wave detection and precise measurements about its mass and radius. In the inner core region of the neutron star, the strangeness degrees of freedom, such as the hyperons, can be present, which is also named as a hyperonic star. In this work, the neutron star consisting of nucleons and leptons, and the hyperonic star including the hyperons will be reviewed in the framework of the relativistic mean-field (RMF) model. The popular non-linear and density-dependent RMF parametrizations in the market …
The properties of strangeness neutron star are studied within relativistic mean-field (RMF) model via including a logarithmic interaction as a function of scalar meson field. This logarithmic interaction, named as the $σ$-cut potential, can largely reduce the attractive contributions of scalar meson field at high density without any influence on nuclear structure around normal saturation density. In this work, the TM1 parameter set is chosen as the RMF interaction, while the strengths of logarithmic interaction are constrained by the properties of finite nuclei so that we can obtain a reasonab…
We have studied properties and shell structure of the superheavy elements from Z=102 to Z=120 within the framework of the RMF theory. The region of study spans nuclides with neutron numbers N=150-190. The Lagrangian model NL-SV1 with the inclusion of the vector self-coupling of the omega-meson has been employed in this work. We have performed RMF + BCS calculations for an axially deformed configuration of nuclei. The ground-state binding energies, single-particle properties and quadrupole deformation of nuclei have been obtained from the mean-field minimizations. Two-neutron separation energie…
This thesis focuses on a variety of active research topics, such as nuclear matter, neutron stars, and phase transition within the framework of the RMF model. We use the previously successful effective field theory-driven Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) and density-dependent RMF (DD-RMF)formalisms for analyzing hadron matter to examine the infinite nuclear matter and neutron stars. The presence of exotic phases such as quarks has been investigated using the MIT Bag model and its variants, such as the vBag model, at various bag constants. The other exotic phases, such as hyperons, have also been …
An improved quark mass density- dependent model with the non-linear scalar sigma field and the $ω$-meson field is presented. We show that the present model can describe saturation properties, the equation of state, the compressibility and the effective nuclear mass of nuclear matter under mean field approximation successfully. The comparison of the present model and the quark-meson coupling model is addressed.
The Maxwell and Glendenning construction scenarios of deconfinement phase transition in neutron star matter are investigated. The hadronic phase is described within the relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory, if also the scalar-isovector δ-meson field is taken into account. The strange quark phase is described in the frame of MIT bag model, including the effect of perturbative one-gluon exchange interactions. The influence of the δ-meson field on the deconfinement phase transition boundary characteristics is discussed.
The strange quark star is investigated within the enlarged SU(3) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL). The stable quark star exists till maximal configutation with rho_m=3.1, 10^15, g/cm^3 with M_m=1.61, M_Sun and R_m=8.74, km is reached. Strange quarks appear for density above rho_c=9.84 g/cm^3 for the quark star with radius R_c=8.003 km and M_c=0.77, M_Sun. The comparison of a quark star properties obtained in the Quark Mean Field (QMF) approach to a neutron star model constructed within the Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) theory is presented.
We investigate the role of the pion in Covariant Density Functional Theory. Starting from conventional Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) theory with a non-linear coupling of the $σ$-meson and without exchange terms we add pions with a pseudo-vector coupling to the nucleons in relativistic Hartree-Fock approximation. In order to take into account the change of the pion field in the nuclear medium the effective coupling constant of the pion is treated as a free parameter. It is found that the inclusion of the pion to this sort of density functionals does not destroy the overall description of the bu…
The equation of state of cold baryonic matter is studied within a relativistic mean-field model with hadron masses and coupling constants depending on a scalar field. We demonstrate that if the effective nucleon mass stops to decrease with a density increase at densities $n>n_*>n_0$, where $n_0$ is the nuclear saturation density, the equation of state stiffens for these densities and the limiting neutron star mass increases. The stabilization of the nucleon mass can be realised if in the equation of motion for the scalar mean-field there appear a term sharply varying in a narrow vicinity of th…
A new improved quark mass density-dependent model including u, d quarks, $σ$ mesons, $ω$ mesons and $ρ$ mesons is presented. Employing this model, the properties of nuclear matter, neutron matter and neutron star are studied. We find that it can describe above properties successfully. The results given by the new improved quark mass density- dependent model and by the quark meson coupling model are compared.
We generalize the Bogoliubov quark-meson coupling model to also include hyperons. The hyperon-$σ$-meson couplings are fixed by the model and the hyperon-$ω$-meson couplings are fitted to the hypreon potentials in symmetric nuclear matter. The present model predicts neutron stars with masses above 2$M_\odot$ and the radius of a 1.4$M_\odot$ star equal to 13.83 km.
The effects of the symmetry energy softening of the relativistic mean field (RMF) models on the properties of matter with neutrino trapping are investigated. It is found that the effects are less significant than those in the case without neutrino trapping. The weak dependence of the equation of state on the symmetry energy is shown as the main reason of this finding. Using different RMF models the dynamical instabilities of uniform matters, with and without neutrino trapping, have been also studied. The interplay between the dominant contribution of the variation of matter composition and the…
The deconfinement phase transition from hadronic matter to quark matter in the interior of compact stars is investigated. The hadronic phase is described in the framework of relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory, when also the scalar-isovector delta-meson effective field is taken into account. The MIT bag model for describing a quark phase is used. The changes of the parameters of phase transition caused by the presence of delta-meson field are explored. Finally, alterations in the integral and structural parameters of hybrid stars due to both deconfinement phase transition and inclusion of del…
We investigate quark potential by considering meson exchanges in the two flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model at finite temperature and density. There are two kinds of oscillations in the chiral restoration phase, one is the Friedel oscillation due to the sharp quark Fermi surface at high density, and the other is the Yukawa oscillation driven by the complex meson poles at high temperature. The quark-meson plasma is strongly coupled in the temperature region $1\le T/T_c \lesssim 3$ with $T_c$ being the critical temperature of chiral phase transition. The maximum coupling in this region is located …
Based on the quark mass density- and temperature- dependent model we suggest a model for nuclear matter where the meson field is introduced to be directly coupled to the quarks. The dynamic formation of the nucleon bag, the saturation properties of nuclear matter as well as equation of state for this model are studies.
We derive the equation of state of nuclear matter including vacuum polarization effects arising from the nucleons and the sigma mesons in the quark-meson coupling model which incorporates explicitly quark degrees of freedom with quark coupled to the scalar and vector mesons. This leads to a softer equation of state for nuclear matter giving a lower value of incompressibility than would be reached without quantum effects. The {\it in-medium} nucleon and sigma meson masses are also calculated in a self-consistent manner.
In this work we show the modifications of nucleon mass and nucleon radius with the help of the extended Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) model. We argue that even small departures above nuclear equilibrium density with constant nucleon mass require an energy transfer from the repulsive mean field to the quarks forming nucleon massive bags in Nuclear Matter (NM), together with the decrease in the nucleon volume. The transfer, which is proportional to pressure and absent in a standard RMF approach, provides good values for nuclear compressibility, symmetry energy and its slope. Different courses of…
By breaking both the axial and the spatial reflection symmetries, we develop multidimensionally constrained relativistic mean field (MDC-RMF) models. The nuclear shape is assumed to be invariant under the reversion of $x$ and $y$ axes, i.e., the intrinsic symmetry group is $V_{4}$ and all shape degrees of freedom $β_{λμ}$ with even $μ$, such as $β_{20}$, $β_{22}$, $β_{30}$, $β_{32}$, $β_{40}$, $\dots$, are included self-consistently. The Dirac wave functions are expanded in an axially deformed harmonic oscillator basis. The RMF functional can be one of the following four forms: the meson excha…
We considered the quark-meson coupling model for a nucleon. The model describes a nucleon as an MIT bag, in which quarks are coupled to the scalar and the vector mesons. A set of coupled equations for the quark and the meson fields are obtained and are solved in a self-consistent manner. We show that the mass of a dressed MIT bag interacting with $σ$- and $ω$-meson fields differs considerably from the mass of the free MIT bag. The effects of the density-dependent bag constant are investigated. The results of our calculations imply that the self-energy of the bag in the quark-meson coupling mod…
The phase transition to a deconfined phase is studied and the consequences in the formation of neutron stars are investigated. We use the quark-meson-coupling model for the hadron matter and the MIT Bag model for the quark matter in order to build the appropriate equations of state for the hybrid stars. The properties of the stars are then calculated. The differences between unpaired and color-flavor locked quark matter are discussed.
A quark model approach to the photoproduction of vector mesons off nucleons is proposed. Its starting point is an effective Lagrangian of the interaction between the vector meson and the quarks inside the baryon. This paper develops the formalism and highlights the dynamical roles of s-channel resonances. It is demonstrated that the proposed approach is ideal to support searching for the missing resonances in the vector meson photoproduction experiments proposed at TJNAF.
We determine the coupling constants of $Σ$ hyperon with mesons in relativistic mean field (RMF) models using $Σ^-$ atomic shift data and examine the effects of $Σ$ on the neutron star maximum mass. We find that we need to reduce the vector-isovector meson coupling with $Σ$ ($g_{ρΣ}$) from the value constrained by the SU(3)v symmetry in order to explain the $Σ^-$ atomic shifts for light symmetric and heavy asymmetric nuclei simultaneously. With the atomic shift fit value of $g_{ρΣ}$, $Σ^-$ can emerge in neutron star matter overcoming the repulsive isoscalar potential for $Σ$ hyperons. Admixture…
By using a previously developed phenomenological kernel for the study of the light quark QCD sector and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking effects we will examine the relative infrared and ultraviolet QCD dynamics for J=0,1 meson properties. For the same reasons we extend and explore a quark mass depended generalization of the kernel in the heavy quark region and we also compare with the original model. The relation between the dynamics of the quark propagator and the effective kernel with the J=0,1 QQ and qQ mesons and quarks Compton size is also discussed.
The meson photoproductions off nucleons in the chiral quark model are described. The role of the S-wave resonances in the second resonance region is discussed, and it is particularly important for the Kaon, $η$ and $η'$ photoproductions.
The quark-meson coupling model for a nucleon is considered. The model describes a nucleon as an MIT bag, in which quarks are coupled to scalar and vector mesons. A set of coupled equations for the quark and the meson fields are obtained and are solved in a self-consistent way. It is shown that the mass of a nucleon as a dressed MIT bag interacting with sigma- and omega-meson fields significantly differs from the mass of a free MIT bag. A few sets of model parameters are obtained so that the mass of a dressed MIT bag becomes the nucleon mass. The results of our calculations imply that the self-…
The properties of neutron stars are investigated by including $δ$ meson field in the Lagrangian density of modified quark-meson coupling model. The $Σ^-$ population with $δ$ meson is larger than that without $δ$ meson at the beginning, but it becomes smaller than that without $δ$ meson as the appearance of $Ξ^-$. The $δ$ meson has opposite effects on hadronic matter with or without hyperons: it softens the EOSes of hadronic matter with hyperons, while it stiffens the EOSes of pure nucleonic matter. Furthermore, the leptons and the hyperons have the similar influence on $δ$ meson effects. The $…
We divide the cross section for a meson-meson reaction into three parts. The first part is for the quark-interchange process, the second for quark-antiquark annihilation processes and the third for resonant processes. Master rate equations are established to yield time dependence of fugacities of pions, rhos, kaons and vetor kaons. The equations include cross sections for inelastic scattering of pions, rhos, kaons and vector kaons. Cross sections for quark-interchange-induced reactions, that were obtained in a potential model, are parametrized for convenient use. The number densities of pion a…
The relativistic mean field (RMF) model of the nuclear matter equation of state has been modified by including the effect of Pauli-blocking owing to quark exchange between the baryons. Different schemes of a chiral enhancement of the quark Pauli blocking have been suggested according to the adopted density dependence of the dynamical quark mass. The resulting equations of state for the pressure are compared to the RMF model DD2 with excluded volume correction. On the basis of this comparison a density-dependent nucleon volume is extracted which parametrises the quark Pauli blocking effect in t…
Background : The emergence of hyperon degrees of freedom in neutron star matter has been associated to first order phase transitions in some phenomenological models, but conclusions on the possible physical existence of an instability in the strangeness sector are strongly model dependent. Purpose : The purpose of the present study is to assess whether strangeness instabilities are related to specific values of the largely unconstrained hyperon interactions, and to study the effect of the strange meson couplings on phenomenological properties of neutron stars and supernova matter, once these l…

The rotating neutron star properties are studied with a phase transition to quark matter. The density-dependent relativistic mean-field model (DD-RMF) is employed to study the hadron matter, while the Vector-Enhanced Bag model (vBag) model is used to study the quark matter. The star matter properties like mass, radius, the moment of inertia, rotational frequency, Kerr parameter, and other important quantities are studied to see the effect on quark matter. The maximum mass of rotating neutron star with DD-LZ1 and DD-MEX parameter sets is found to be around 3$M_{\odot}$ for pure hadronic phase an…
An improvement in the treatment of the isovector channel of relativistic mean field (RMF) models based on effective field theory (E-RMF) is suggested, by adding an isovector scalar (delta) meson and using a similar procedure to the one used by Horowitz and Piekarewicz to adjust the isovector-vector channel in order to achieve a softer density dependent symmetry energy of the nuclear matter at high density. Their effects on the equation of state (EOS) at high density and on the neutrino mean free path (NMFP) in neutron stars are discussed.
We discuss a hybrid equation of state (EoS) that fulfills constraints for mass-radius relationships and cooling of compact stars. The quark matter EoS is obtained from a Polyakov-loop Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (PNJL) model with color superconductivity, and the hadronic one from a relativistic mean-field (RMF) model with density-dependent couplings (DD-RMF). For the construction of the phase transition regions we employ here for simplicity a Maxwell construction. We present the phase diagram for symmetric matter which exhibits two remarkable features: (1) a "nose"-like structure of the hadronic-to-qu…
In this contribution we present some results of potential energy surfaces of actinide and transfermium nuclei from multi-dimensional constrained relativistic mean field (MDC-RMF) models. Recently we developed multi-dimensional constrained covariant density functional theories (MDC-CDFT) in which all shape degrees of freedom $β_{λμ}$ with even $μ$ are allowed and the functional can be one of the following four forms: the meson exchange or point-coupling nucleon interactions combined with the non-linear or density-dependent couplings. In MDC-RMF models, the pairing correlations are treated with …
The critical densities and impact of forming \D resonances in neutron stars are investigated within an extended nonlinear relativistic mean-field (RMF) model. The critical densities for the formation of four different charge states of \D are found to depend differently on the separate kinetic and potential parts of nuclear symmetry energy, the first example of a microphysical property of neutron stars to do so. Moreover, they are sensitive to the in-medium Delta mass $m_Δ$ and the completely unknown $Δ$-$ρ$ coupling strength $g_{ρΔ}$. In the universal baryon-meson coupling scheme where the res…
