The rotating neutron star properties are studied with a phase transition to quark matter. The density-dependent relativistic mean-field model (DD-RMF) is employed to study the hadron matter, while the Vector-Enhanced Bag model (vBag) model is used to study the quark matter. The star matter properties like mass, radius, the moment of inertia, rotational frequency, Kerr parameter, and other important quantities are studied to see the effect on quark matter. The maximum mass of rotating neutron star with DD-LZ1 and DD-MEX parameter sets is found to be around 3$M_{\odot}$ for pure hadronic phase and decreases to a value around 2.6$M_{\odot}$ with phase transition to quark matter, which satisfies the recent GW190814 constraints. For DDV, DDVT, and DDVTD parameter sets, the maximum mass decreases to satisfy the 2$M_{\odot}$. The moment of inertia calculated for various DD-RMF parameter sets decreases with the increasing mass satisfying constraints from various measurements. Other important quantities calculated also vary with the bag constant and hence show that the presence of quarks inside neutron stars can also allow us to constraint these quantities to determine a proper EoS. Also, the theoretical study along with the accurate measurement of uniformly rotating neutron star properties may offer some valuable information concerning the high-density part of the equation of state.
We investigate the slowly rotating general relativistic superfluid neutron stars including the entrainment effect in a two-fluid model, where one fluid represents the superfluid neutrons and the other is the charge-neutral fluid called the proton fluid, made of protons and electrons. The equation of state and the entrainment effect between the superfluid neutrons and the proton fluid are computed using a relativistic mean field (RMF) model where baryon-baryon interaction is mediated by the exchange of $σ$, $ω$, and $ρ$ mesons and scalar self interactions are also included. The equations govern…
In the Ginzburg-Landau limit, a possible texture without singular cores in a rotating neutron spin-triplet superfluid is studied. It is constructed the lattice of non-singular vortices with a vorticity diffusely distributed over the entire unit cell. The upper limit of the free energy associated with this structure is estimated, and the result shows that non-singular vortices are more preferable in the core of rotating neutron stars than ordinary linear singular vortices. The order parameter of the studied neutron system belongs to the unitary class. This implies that the superfluid under cons…

In this work we present a newly constructed equation of state (EoS) --applicable to stellar core collapse and neutron star mergers--, including the entire baryon octet. Our EoS is compatible with the main constraints from nuclear physics and, in particular, with a maximum mass for cold beta-equilibrated neutron stars of 2 solar masses in agreement with recent observations. As an application of our new EoS, we compute numerical stationary models for rapidly (rigidly) rotating hot neutron stars. We consider maximum masses of hot stars, such as proto-neutron stars or hypermassive neutron stars in…
In this paper, we use a three flavor non-local Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model, an~improved effective model of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) at low energies, to investigate the existence of deconfined quarks in the cores of neutron stars. Particular emphasis is put on the possible existence of quark matter in the cores of rotating neutron stars (pulsars). In contrast to non-rotating neutron stars, whose particle compositions do not change with time (are frozen in), the type and structure of the matter in the cores of rotating neutron stars depends on the spin frequencies of these stars, which o…
We study rapidly rotating hybrid stars with the Dyson-Schwinger model for quark matter and the Brueckner-Hartree-Fock many-body theory with realistic two-body and three-body forces for nuclear matter. We determine the maximum gravitational mass, equatorial radius, and rotation frequency of stable stellar configurations by considering the constraints of the Keplerian limit and the secular axisymmetric instability, and compare with observational data. We also discuss the rotational evolution for constant baryonic mass, and find a spinup phenomenon for supramassive stars before they collapse to b…
Neutron stars are among the densest known objects in the universe and an ideal laboratory for the strange physics of super-condensed matter. While the simultaneously measurements of mass and radius of non-rotating neutron stars may impose constraints on the properties of the dense nuclear matter, the observation and study of maximally-rotating ones, close to the mass-shedding limit, may lead to significantly further constraints. Theoretical predictions allow neutron stars to rotate extremely fast (even more than $2000 \ {\rm Hz}$). However, until this moment, the fastest observed rotating puls…
A set of theoretical mass-radius relations for rigidly rotating neutron stars with exotic cores, obtained in various theories of dense matter, is reviewed. Two basic observational constraints are used: the largest measured rotation frequency (716 Hz) and the maximum measured mass ($2\;M_\odot$). Present status of measuring the radii of neutron stars is described. The theory of rigidly rotating stars in general relativity is reviewed and limitations of the slow rotation approximation are pointed out. Mass-radius relations for rotating neutron stars with hyperon and quark cores are illustrated u…
In this paper, we have investigated the structural properties of rotating neutron stars using the numerical RNS code and the equation of states which have been calculated within the lowest order constrained variational approach. In order to calculate the equation of state of nuclear matter, we have used UV$_{14}$ $+$TNI and AV$_{18}$ potentials. Here, we have computed the maximum mass of the neutron star and the corresponding equatorial radius at different angular velocity. We have also computed the structural properties of Keplerian rotating neutron star for maximum mass configuration, $M_{K}…
Neutron stars are attractive places to look for dark matter because their high densities allow repeated interactions. Weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) may scatter efficiently in the core or in the crust of a neutron star. In this paper we focus on WIMP contributions to transport properties, such as shear viscosity or thermal conductivity, because these can be greatly enhanced by long mean free paths. We speculate that WIMPs increase the shear viscosity of neutron star matter and help stabilize r-mode oscillations. These are collective oscillations where the restoring force is the C…
Using the nuclear equation of states for a large variety of relativistic and non-relativistic force parameters, we calculate the static and rotating masses and radii of neutron stars. From these equation of states, we also evaluate the properties of rotating neutron stars, such as rotational and gravitational frequencies, moment of inertia, quadrupole deformation parameter, rotational ellipcity and gravitational wave strain amplitude. The estimated gravitational wave strain amplitude of the star is found to be $\sim 10^{-23}$.
The prediction of the equation of state of hot, dense nuclear matter is one of the most complicated and interesting problems in nuclear astrophysics. At the same time, knowledge of it is the basic ingredient for some of the most interesting studies. In the present work, we concentrate our study on the construction of the equation of state of hot, dense nuclear matter, related mainly to the interior of the neutron star. We employ a theoretical nuclear model, which includes momentum-dependent interaction among the nucleons, along with the \textit{state-of-the-art} microscopic calculations. Therm…
In this contribution nuclear constraints on the equation of state for a neutron star are discussed. A combined fit to nuclear masses and charge radii leads to improved values for the symmetry energy and its derivative at nuclear saturation density, $S_{\rm{v}}= 31$ MeV and $L=68\pm 8$ MeV. As an application the sensitivity of some properties of rotating supramassive neutron stars on the EoS is discussed.
The equations of state for neutron matter, strange and non-strange hadronic matter in a chiral SU(3) quark mean field model are applied in the study of slowly rotating neutron stars and hadronic stars. The radius, mass, moment of inertia, and other physical quantities are carefully examined. The effect of nucleon crust for the strange hadronic star is exhibited. Our results show the rotation can increase the maximum mass of compact stars significantly. For big enough mass of pulsar which can not be explained as strange hadronic star, the theoretical approaches to increase the maximum mass are …

We suggest to compare the deep inelastic scattering structure functions measured in the unpolarized charged-lepton scattering off a transversely polarized proton and off a longitudinally polarized proton at larger Bjorken variable $x$, one may get a direct evidence concerning the valence quark orbital angular momentum in the proton. This possible rotating effect is estimated by using a proton-ensemble model.
We have studied the effect of free space nucleon radius on the nuclear matter and slowly rotating neutron star properties within a relativistic mean field model with the inclusion of omega-rho mixing nonlinear term. We use the same density dependent radius as in our previous work. However, in the present work we utilize the parameter sets with more proper symmetric nuclear matter (SNM) predictions for a number of different nucleon radii. To this end, the isoscalar parameters in each parameter set and the cutoff parameter $β$ are adjusted by fitting the corresponding SNM properties at sub-satur…
We derive the hydrodynamical equations of r-mode oscillations in neutron stars in presence of a novel damping mechanism related to particle number changing processes. The change in the number densities of the various species leads to new dissipative terms in the equations which are responsible of the {\it rocket effect}. We employ a two-fluid model, with one fluid consisting of the charged components, while the second fluid consists of superfluid neutrons. We consider two different kind of r-mode oscillations, one associated with comoving displacements, and the second one associated with count…
We study the rotational collective motion of the quark-gluon plasma in relativistic heavy ion collisions using the widely-adopted AMPT (A Multi-Phase Transport) model. The global angular momentum, the average vorticity carried by the quark-gluon plasma, and the locally defined vorticity fields are computed for Au+Au collisions, with detailed information of their time evolution, spatial distribution, as well as the dependence on beam energy and collision centrality.
