In this paper, we investigate the weak Gorenstein global dimensions. We are mainly interested in studying the problem when the left and right weak Gorenstein global dimensions coincide. We first show, for GF-closed rings, that the left and right weak Gorenstein global dimensions are equal when they are finite. Then, we prove that the same equality holds for any two-sided coherent ring. We conclude the paper with some examples and a brief discussion of the scope and limits of our results.
We study the Gorenstein weak global dimension of associative rings and its relation to the Gorenstein global dimension. In particular, we prove the conjecture that the Gorenstein weak global dimension is a left-right symmetric invariant -- just like the (absolute) weak global dimension.
We expand on two existing characterizations of rings of Gorenstein (weak) global dimension zero and give two new characterizations of rings of finite Gorenstein (weak) global dimension. We also include the answer to a question of Y.~Xiang on Gorenstein weak global dimension of group rings.
In this paper, we introduce the notions of Gorenstein weak injective and weak flat modules respectively in terms of weak injective and weak flat modules, which is larger than classical classes of Gorenstein injective and flat modules. In this new setting, we characterize rings over which all modules are Gorenstein weak injective. Moreover, we also discuss a relation between weak cosyzygy and Gorenstein weak cosyzygy of a module, and the stability of Gorenstein weak injective modules.
In this paper, we mainly investigate the $\mathfrak{X}$-Gorenstein projective dimension of modules and the (left) $\mathfrak{X}$-Gorenstein global dimension of rings. Some properties of $\mathfrak{X}$-Gorenstein projective dimensions are obtained. Furthermore, we prove that the (left) $\mathfrak{X}$-Gorenstein global dimension of ring $R$ is equal to the supremum of the set of $\mathfrak{X}$-Gorenstein projective dimensions of all cyclic (left) $R$-modules. This result extends the well-known Auslander's theorem on the global dimension and its Gorenstein homological version.
In this note, we mainly extend some Gorenstein homological properties from special rings (Noetherian or coherent rings ) to arbitrary rings by introducing the notions of Gorenstein weak injective and weak projective modules respectively.
In this paper, we study the relative homological dimension based on the class of projectively coresolved Gorenstein flat modules (PGF-modules), that were introduced by Saroch and Stovicek. The resulting PGF-dimension of modules has several properties in common with the Gorenstein projective dimension, the relative homological theory based on the class of Gorenstein projective modules. In particular, there is a hereditary Hovey triple in the category of modules of finite PGF-dimension, whose associated homotopy category is triangulated equivalent to the stable category of PGF-modules. An A-module M will be said to be semi-Gorenstein-projective provided that Ext^i(M,A) = 0 for all i > 0. All Gorenstein-projective modules are semi-Gorenstein-projective and only few and quite complicated examples of semi-Gorenstein-projective modules which are not Gorenstein-projective have been known. The aim of the paper is to provide conditions on A such that all semi-Gorenstein-projective modules are Gorenstein-projective (we call such an algebra left weakly Gorenstein). In particular, we show that in case there are only finitely many isomorphism classes of indecomposable left modules whic…
Under semi-weak and weak compatibility of bimodules, we establish sufficient and necessary conditions of Gorenstein-projective modules over rings of Morita contexts with one bimodule homomorphism zero. This generalises and extends results on triangular matrix Artin algebras and on Artin algebras of Morita contexts with two bimodule homomorphisms zero in the literature, where only sufficient conditions are given under a strong assumption of compatibility of bimodules. An application is provided to describe Gorenstein-projective modules over noncommutative tensor products arising from Morita con…
Let $R$ be a Cohen--Macaulay normal domain with a canonical module $ω_R$. It is proved that if $R$ admits a noncommutative crepant resolution (NCCR), then necessarily it is $\mathbb{Q}$-Gorenstein. Writing $S$ for a Zariski local canonical cover of $R$, then a tight relationship between the existence of noncommutative (crepant) resolutions on $R$ and $S$ is given. A weaker notion of Gorenstein modification is developed, and a similar tight relationship is given. There are three applications: non-Gorenstein quotient singularities by connected reductive groups cannot admit an NCCR, the centre of…
In this paper we study the finiteness of global Gorenstein AC-homological dimensions for rings, and answer the questions posed by Becerril, Mendoza, Pérez and Santiago. As an application, we show that any left (or right) coherent and left Gorenstein ring has a projective and injective stable homotopy category, which improves the known result by Beligiannis.
Let $A$ and $B$ be rings, $U$ a $(B,A)$-bimodule and $T=\begin{pmatrix} A&0\\U&B \end{pmatrix}$ the triangular matrix ring. In this paper, several notions in relative Gorenstein algebra over a triangular matrix ring are investigated. We first study how to construct w-tilting (tilting, semidualizing) over $T$ using the corresponding ones over $A$ and $B$. We show that when $U$ is relative (weakly) compatible we are able to describe the structure of $G_C$-projective modules over $T$. As an application, we study when a morphism in $T$-Mod has a special $G_CP(T)$-precover and when the class $G_CP(…
The study of invariants of group actions on commutative polynomial rings has motivated many developments in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. It has been of particular interest to understand what conditions on the group result in an invariant ring satisfying useful properties. In particular, Watanabe's Theorem states that the invariant subring of $k[x_1,\ldots,x_n]$ under the natural action of a finite subgroup of $SL_n(k)$ is always Gorenstein. In this paper, we study this question in the more general setting of group actions on noncommutative non-connected algebras $A$. We develop …
In this paper we develop the homological properties of the $(\mathcal{L}, \mathcal{A})$-Gorenstein flat $R$-modules $\mathcal{GF}_{(\mathcal{F}(R), \mathcal{A})}$ proposed by Gillespie. Where the class $\mathcal{A} \subseteq \mathrm{Mod} (R^{op})$ sometimes corresponds to a duality pair $(\mathcal{L}, \mathcal{A})$. We study the weak global and finitistic dimensions that comes with $\mathcal{GF}_{(\mathcal{F}(R), \mathcal{A})}$ and show that over a $(\mathcal{L}, \mathcal{A})$-Gorenstein ring, the functor $-\otimes _R -$ is left balanced over $\mathrm{Mod} (R^{op}) \times \mathrm{Mod} (R)$ by …
We give an exposition and generalization of Orlov's theorem on graded Gorenstein rings. We show the theorem holds for non-negatively graded rings which are Gorenstein in an appropriate sense and whose degree zero component is an arbitrary non-commutative right noetherian ring of finite global dimension. A short treatment of some foundations for local cohomology and Grothendieck duality at this level of generality is given in order to prove the theorem. As an application we give an equivalence of the derived category of a commutative complete intersection with the homotopy category of graded ma…
We introduce the right (left) Gorenstein subcategory relative to an additive subcategory $\C$ of an abelian category $\A$, and prove that the right Gorenstein subcategory $r\mathcal{G}(\mathscr{C})$ is closed under extensions, kernels of epimorphisms, direct summands and finite direct sums. When $\C$ is self-orthogonal, we give a characterization for objects in $r\mathcal{G}(\mathscr{C})$, and prove that any object in $\A$ with finite $r\mathcal{G}(\C)$-projective dimension is isomorphic to a kernel (resp. a cokernel) of a morphism from an object in $\A$ with finite $\C$-projective dimension t…
本文在Artin代数的背景下从不同的角度研究了Morita环$Λ_{(ϕ,ψ)}=\bigl({smallmatrix} A &_AN_B_BM_A & B {smallmatrix}\bigr)$.
Let $R$ be any ring. We prove that all direct products of flat right $R$-modules have finite flat dimension if and only if each finitely generated left ideal of $R$ has finite projective dimension relative to the class of all $\mathcal F$-Mittag-Leffler left $R$-modules, where $\mathcal F$ is the class of all flat right $R$-modules. In order to prove this theorem, we obtain a general result concerning global relative dimension. Namely, if $\mathcal X$ is any class of left $R$-modules closed under filtrations that contains all projective modules, then $R$ has finite left global projective dimen…
