We compute the Hochschild cohomology of any block of $q$-Schur algebras. We focus the even part of this Hochschild cohomology ring. To compute the Hochschild cohomology of $q$-Schur algebras, we prove the following two results: first, we construct two graded algebra surjections between the Hochschild cohomologies of quasi-hereditary algebras because all $q$-Schur algebras over a field are quasi-hereditary. We define a graded quasi-hereditary covering for the cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebras $\mathcal{R}^Λ_n$ of type $A$ when $e=0$ (the linear quiver) or $e\ge n$. We show that these algebras are quasi-hereditary graded cellular algebras by giving explicit homogeneous bases for them. Motivated by Brundan-Kleshchev's work on higher Schur-Weyl duality, we establish mixed Schur-Weyl duality between general linear Lie algebras and cyclotomic walled Brauer algebras in an arbitrary level. Using weakly cellular bases of cyclotomic walled Brauer algebras, we classify highest weight vectors of certain mixed tensor modules of general linear Lie algebras. This leads to an efficient way to compute decomposition matrices of cyclotomic walled Brauer algebras arising from mixed Schur-Weyl duality, which generalizes early results on level two walled Brauer algebras.
The affine quantum Schur algebra is a certain important infinite dimensional algebra whose representation theory is closely related to that of quantum affine $\frak{gl}_n$. The presentation is obtained by adding more relations to the usual presentation of the quantized enveloping algebra of type affine gl_n. We prove that the Schur algebras afford a stabilization construction in the sense of Beilinson-Lusztig-MacPherson that constructs a multiparameter upgrade of the quantum symmetric pair coideal subalgebras of type A III/IV with no black nodes. We show that the category O for a rational Cherednik algebra of type A is equivalent to modules over a q-Schur algebra (parameter not a half integer), providing thus character formulas for simple modules. We give some generalization to B_n(d). We prove an ``abstract'' translation principle. These results follow from the unicity of certain highest categories covering Hecke algebras. We also provide a semi-simplicity criterion for Hecke algebras of complex reflection groups.

Let k be any field. We consider the Hopf-Schur group of k, defined as the subgroup of the Brauer group of k consisting of classes that may be represented by homomorphic images of Hopf algebras over k. We show here that twisted group algebras and abelian extensions of k are quotients of cocommutative and commutative Hopf algebras over k, respectively. As a consequence we prove that any tensor product of cyclic algebras over k is a quotient of a Hopf algebra over k, revealing so that the Hopf-Schur group can be much larger than the Schur group of k.

In this paper, we define the Yokonuma-Schur algebra $\text{YS}_{q}(r,n)$ as the endomorphism algebra of a permutation module for the Yokonuma-Hecke algebra $\text{Y}_{r,n}(q).$ We prove that $\text{YS}_{q}(r,n)$ is cellular by constructing an explicit cellular basis following the approach in [DJM], and we further show that it is a quasi-hereditary cover of $\text{Y}_{r,n}(q)$ in the sense of Rouquier following [HM2]. We specify the definition for Klein graded Lie algebras and, motivated by well known results for Lie superalgebras, we prove similar results for Klein graded Lie algebras. We study on Weyl modules of cyclotomic $q$-Schur algebras. In particular, we give the character formula of the Weyl modules by using the Kostka numbers and some numbers which are computed by a generalization of Littlewood-Richardson rule. We also study corresponding symmetric functions. Finally, we give some simple applications to modular representations of cyclotomic $q$-Schur algebras.

We provide a combinatorial characterization of two-sided cells in modified $\imath$quantum groups of type AIII. Our approach is to lift a corresponding description of two-sided cells in $\jmath$-Schur algebras associated to Iwahori--Hecke algebras of type $B$.
