New superconformal extensions of d=1 Calogero-type systems are obtained by gauging the U(n) isometry of matrix superfield models. We consider the cases of N=1, N=2 and N=4 one-dimensional supersymmetries. The bosonic core of the N=1 and N=2 models is the standard conformal A_{n-1} Calogero system, whereas the N=4 model is an extension of the U(2)-spin Calogero system.
Using the superfield gauging procedure, we construct new ${\cal N}\,{=}\,2$ and ${\cal N}\,{=}\,4$ superfield systems that generalize Calogero models. In the bosonic limit, these systems yield rational Calogero models and hyperbolic Calogero-Sutherland models in the ${\cal N}\,{=}\,2$ case, and their ${\rm U}(2)$ spin generalization in the ${\cal N}\,{=}\,4$ case.
Novel $\mathcal{N}{=}\,2$ and $\mathcal{N}{=}\,4$ supersymmetric extensions of the Calogero-Sutherland hyperbolic systems are obtained by gauging the ${\rm U}(n)$ isometry of matrix superfield models. The bosonic core of the $\mathcal{N}{=}\,2$ models is the standard $A_{n-1}$ Calogero-Sutherland hyperbolic system, whereas the ${\mathcal N}{=}\,4$ model contains additional semi-dynamical spin variables and is an extension of the U(2) spin Calogero-Sutherland hyperbolic system. We construct two different versions of the ${\mathcal N}{=}\,4$ model, with and without the interacting center-of-mass…
A relativistic generalization of the rational Calogero model is obtained by using the deformation of a gauging matrix system with extra semi-dynamical variables. The Hamiltonian of this system is derived by imposing the gauge fixing conditions and eliminating gauge degrees of freedom. The integrability of the proposed relativistic model is proved.
The $\mathcal{N}{=}\,4$ supersymmetric $\mathrm{U}(2)$-spin hyperbolic Calogero-Sutherland model with odd matrix fields is examined. Explicit form of the $\mathcal{N}{=}\,4$ supersymmetry generators is derived. The Lax representation for the dynamics of the $\mathcal{N}{=}\,4$ hyperbolic $\mathrm{U}(2)$-spin Calogero-Sutherland system is found. The reduction to the $\mathcal{N}{=}\,4$ supersymmetric spinless hyperbolic Calogero-Sutherland system is established.
The $\mathcal{N}{=}\,2$ supersymmetric hyperbolic Calogero-Sutherland model obtained in arXiv:1902.08023 by gauging the $\mathcal{N}{=}\,2$ superfield matrix system is studied. Classical and quantum $\mathcal{N}{=}\,2$ supersymmetry generators are found. The difference in the structure of classical and quantum supercharges is established. It is shown that, unlike classical supercharges, quantum supersymmetry generators can be limited to an invariant sub-sector that does not contain off-diagonal fermion operators. The Lax pair for supersymmetric generalization of the hyperbolic Calogero-Sutherl…
We build up a class of N=2 supersymmetric non-linear $σ$-models in an N=1 superspace based on the Atiyah-Ward space-time of (2+2)-signature metric. We also discuss the gauging of isometries of the associated hyper-Kählerian target spaces and present the resulting gauge-covariant supersymmetric action functional.
We present a supersymmetric non-linear $\s$-model built up in the $N=1$ superspace of Atiyah-Ward space-time. A manifold of the Kähler type comes out that is restricted by a particular decomposition of the Kähler potential. The gauging of the $\s$-model isometries is also accomplished in superspace.
We report on the new approach to constructing superconformal extensions of the Calogero-type systems with an arbitrary number of involved particles. It is based upon the superfield gauging of non-abelian isometries of some supersymmetric matrix models. Among its applications, we focus on the new N=4 superconformal system yielding the U(2) spin Calogero model in the bosonic sector, and the one-particle case of this system, which is a new OSp(4|2) superconformal mechanics with non-dynamical U(2) spin variables. The characteristic feature of these models is that the strength of the conformal inve…
We constructed the most general N=4 superconformal 3-particles systems with translation invariance. In the basis with decoupled center of mass the supercharges and Hamiltonian possess one arbitrary function which defines all potential terms. We have shown that with the proper choice of this function one may describe the standard, $A_2$ Calogero model as well as $BC_2, B_2,C_2$ and $D_2$ Calogero models with N=4 superconformal symmetry. The main property of all these systems is that even with the coupling constant equal to zero they still contain nontrivial interactions in the fermionic sector.…
This talk summarizes the study of superfield gaugings of isometries of extended supersymmetric mechanics in hep-th/0605211, hep-th/0611247 and arXiv:0706.0706. The gauging procedure provides a manifestly supersymmetric realization of d=1 automorphic dualities which interrelate various irreducible off-shell multiplets of d=1 extended supersymmetry featuring the same number of physical fermions but different divisions of bosonic fields into the physical and auxiliary subsets. We concentrate on the most interesting N=4 case and demonstrate that, with a suitable choice of the symmetry to be gauged…
We argue that off-shell dualities between d=1 supermultiplets with different sets of physical bosonic components and the same number of fermionic ones are related to gauging some symmetries in the actions of the supermultiplets with maximal sets of physical bosons. Our gauging procedure uses off-shell superfields and so is manifestly supersymmetric. We focus on N=4 supersymmetric mechanics and show that various actions of the multiplet (3,4,1) amount to some gauge choices in the gauged superfield actions of the linear or nonlinear (4,4,0) multiplets. In particular, the conformally invariant (3…
Supersymmetric $\,\textrm{AdS}_{4}\,$, $\,\textrm{AdS}_{2} \times Σ_{2}\,$ and asymptotically AdS$_{4}$ black hole solutions are studied in the context of non-minimal $\,\mathcal{N}=2\,$ supergravity models involving three vector multiplets (STU-model) and Abelian gaugings of the universal hypermultiplet moduli space. Such models correspond to consistent subsectors of the $\,\textrm{SO}(p,q)\,$ and $\,\textrm{ISO}(p,q)\,$ gauged maximal supergravities that arise from the reduction of 11D and massive IIA supergravity on $\,\textrm{H}^{(p,q)}\,$ spaces down to four dimensions. A unified descript…
This paper tests a conjecture on discrete non-Abelian gauging of 3d $\mathcal{N} = 4$ supersymmetric quiver gauge theories. Given a parent quiver with a bouquet of $n$ nodes of rank $1$, invariant under a discrete $S_n$ global symmetry, one can construct a daughter quiver where the bouquet is substituted by a single adjoint $n$ node. Based on the main conjecture in this paper, the daughter quiver corresponds to a theory where the $S_n$ discrete global symmetry is gauged and the new Coulomb branch is a non-Abelian orbifold of the parent Coulomb branch. We demonstrate and test the conjecture for…
Starting from the Hamiltonian formulation of supersymmetric Calogero models associated with the classical $A_n$, $B_n$, $C_n$ and $D_n$ series we construct the ${\cal N}{=}\,2$ and ${\cal N}{=}\,4$ supersymmetric extensions of the their hyperbolic/trigonometric Calogero-Sutherland cousins. The bosonic core of these models are the standard Calogero-Sutherland hyperbolic/trigonometric systems.
We propose a new ${\cal N}$-extended supersymmetric $su(n)$ spin-Calogero model. Employing a generalized Hamiltonian reduction adopted to the supersymmetric case, we explicitly construct a novel rational $n$-particle Calogero model with an arbitrary even number of supersymmetries. It features ${\cal N}n^2$ rather than ${\cal N}n$ fermionic coordinates and increasingly high fermionic powers in the supercharges and the Hamiltonian.
In spacetime dimension two, pure Yang-Mills possesses no physical degrees of freedom, and consequently it admits a supersymmetric extension to couple to an arbitrary number, N say, of Majorana-Weyl gauginos. This results in (N,0) super Yang-Mills. Further, its dimensional reduction to mechanics doubles the number of supersymmetries, from N to N+N, to include conformal supercharges, and leads to a superconformal Yang-Mills quantum mechanics with symmetry group OSp(N|2,R). We comment on its connection to AdS_2 \times S^{N-1} and reduction to a supersymmetric Calogero model.
Exploiting the gauging procedure developed by us in hep-th/0605211, we study the relationships between the models of N=4 mechanics based on the off-shell multiplets (4,4,0) and (1,4,3). We make use of the off-shell N=4, d=1 harmonic superspace approach as most adequate for treating this circle of problems. We show that the most general sigma-model type superfield action of the multiplet (1,4,3) can be obtained in a few non-equivalent ways from the (4,4,0) actions invariant under certain three-parameter symmetries, through gauging the latter by the appropriate non-propagating gauge multiplets. …
New models of the SU(2|1) supersymmetric mechanics based on gauging the systems with dynamical (1,4,3) and semi-dynamical (4,4,0) supermultiplets are presented. We propose a new version of SU(2|1) harmonic superspace approach which makes it possible to construct the Wess-Zumino term for interacting (4,4,0) multiplets. A new N=4 extension of d=1 Calogero-Moser multiparticle system is obtained by gauging the U(n) isometry of matrix SU(2|1) harmonic superfield model.
We present a series of four self-contained lectures on the following topics: (I) An introduction to 4-dimensional 1\leq N \leq 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, including particle and field contents, N=1 and N=2 superfield methods and the construction of general invariant Lagrangians; (II) A review of holomorphicity and duality in N=2 super-Yang-Mills, of Seiberg-Witten theory and its formulation in terms of Riemann surfaces; (III) An introduction to mechanical Hamiltonian integrable systems, such as the Toda and Calogero-Moser systems associated with general Lie algebras; a review of the re…
The classical order parameters for the $\N=2$ supersymmetric SU(N) gauge theory with matter in the adjoint representation are exhibited explicitly as conservation laws for the elliptic Calogero-Moser system. Central to the construction are certain elliptic function identities, which arise from considering Feynman diagrams in a theory of free fermions with twisted boundary conditions.
We present a systematic and 'from the ground up' analysis of the 'minimal coupling' type of gauging of Yang-Mills symmetries in (2,2)-supersymmetric 1+1-dimensional spacetime. Unlike in the familiar 3+1-dimensional N=1 supersymmetric case, we find several distinct types of minimal coupling symmetry gauging, and so several distinct types of gauge (super)fields, some of which entirely novel. Also, we find that certain (quartoid) constrained superfields can couple to no gauge superfield at all, others (haploid ones) can couple only very selectively, while still others (non-minimal, i.e., linear o…
We use an extension of the method due to Batalin, Fradkin, Fradkina, and Tyutin (BFFT) for transforming the nonlinear $σ$ model in a non-Abelian gauge theory. We deal with both supersymmetric and nonsupersymmetric cases. The bosonic case was already considered in literature but just gauged with an Abelian algebra. We show that the supersymmetric version is only compatible with a non-Abelian gauge theory. The usual BFFT method for this case leads to a nonlocal algebra.
We provide the explicit gauging of all the SU(2,1) isometries of one N=2 supergravity hypermultiplet, which spans SU(2,1)/U(2) coset space parameterized in terms of two complex projective coordinate fields z_1 and z_2. We derive the full, explicit Killing prepotential that specifies the most general superpotential. As an application we consider the supersymmetric flow (renormalization group) equations for: (i) the flow from a null singularity to the flat, supersymmetric space-time and (ii) the flow that violates c-theorem with the superpotential crossing zero.
We present a surprising redefinition of matrix fermions which brings the supercharges of the $\cal N$-extended supersymmetric $A_{n-1}$ Calogero model introduced in [1] to the standard form maximally cubic in the fermions. The complexity of the model is transferred to a non-canonical and nonlinear conjugation property of the fermions. Employing the new cubic supercharges, we apply a supersymmetric generalization of a "folding" procedure for $A_{2n-1}\oplus A_1$ to explicitly construct the supercharges and Hamiltonian for arbitrary even-$\cal N$ supersymmetric extensions of the $B_n$, $C_n$ and…
$\mathcal{N}{=}\,2$ and $\mathcal{N}{=}\,4$ supersymmetric generalizations of the 3-particle elliptic Calogero system are proposed. Supersymmetry generators of the system are found in which the center of mass sector is described by the supermultiplet ${\bf (1,\mathcal{N},\mathcal{N}-1)}$, while the sector of relative coordinates is the supermultiplet ${\bf (2,\mathcal{N},\mathcal{N}- 2)}$. The $\mathcal{N}{=}\,2$ model described with three supermultiplets ${\bf (1,2,1)}$ is also presented.
We explicitly construct a supersymmetric $so(n)$ spin-Calogero model with an arbitrary even number $\cal N$ of supersymmetries. It features $\frac{1}{2}{\cal N}n(n{+}1)$ rather than ${\cal N}n$ fermionic coordinates and a very simple structure of the supercharges and the Hamiltonian. The latter, together with additional conserved currents, form an $osp({\cal N}|2)$ superalgebra. We provide a superspace description for the simplest case, namely ${\cal N}{=}2$ supersymmetry. The reduction to an $\cal N$-extended supersymmetric goldfish model is also discussed.
We present supersymmetric solutions for the theory of gauged supergravity in five dimensions obtained by gauging the shift symmetry of the axion of the universal hypermultiplet. This gauged theory can also be obtained by dimensionally reducing M-theory on a Calabi-Yau threefold with background flux. The solution found preserves half of the N=2 supersymmetry, carries electric fields and has nontrivial scalar field representing the CY-volume. We comment on the possible solutions of more general hypermultiplet gauging.
We propose a universal method of relating the Calogero model to a set of decoupled particles on the real line, which can be uniformly applied to both the conformal and nonconformal versions as well as to supersymmetric extensions. For conformal models the simplification is achieved at the price of a nonlocal realization of the full conformal symmetry in the Hilbert space of the resulting free theory. As an application, we construct two different N=2 superconformal extensions.
We analyze the integrability of the ${\cal N}$-extended supersymmetric Calogero-Moser model. We explicitly construct the Lax pair $\{L,A\}$ for this system, which properly reproduces all equations of motion. After adding a supersymmetric oscillator potential we reduce the latter to solving $\dot{U}\,{=}\,A\,U$ for the time evolution operator $U(t)$. The bosonic variables, however, evolve independently of $U$ on closed trajectories, as is required for superintegrability. To visualize the structure of the conserved currents we derive the complete set of Liouville charges up to the fifth power in…
The geometry of (2,1) supersymmetric sigma-models is reviewed and the conditions under which they have isometry symmetries are analysed. Certain potentials are constructed that play an important role in the gauging of such symmetries. The gauged action is found for a special class of models.
Subject to some relatively mild assumptions, we derive the complete form of all timelike half-supersymmetric solutions to N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity coupled to an arbitrary number of abelian vector multiplets. This is done using spinorial geometry techniques. Explicit examples are given for a simple prepotential. Among the solutions, there are near-horizon geometries of extremal rotating BPS black holes still to be discovered, with a nontrivial dependence of the scalar fields on one of the horizon coordinates.
We construct a new $N=4$ non-semisimple gauged supergravity in three dimensions with $E_{6(2)}/SU(6)\times SU(2)$ scalar manifold and $SO(4)\ltimes \mathbf{T}^6$ gauge group. Depending on the values of the gauge coupling constants, the theory admits both the maximally supersymmetric $AdS_3$ vacuum preserving $SO(4)$ gauge symmetry and half-supersymmetric domain walls with unbroken $SO(4)$ symmetry. We give all scalar masses at the supersymmetric $AdS_3$ critical point corresponding to an $N=(4,0)$ superconformal field theory (SCFT) in two dimensions. The scalar potential also admits two flat d…
In this work, we study a continuous quantum system of a mixture of bosons and fermions with the supersymmetry SU(m|n). The particles are confined in a harmonic well and interact with each other through the 1/r2 interaction. The ground state wavefunction is constructed explicitly for the most general SU(m|n) case, with the ground state energy given explicitly. The full energy spectrum of excitations in the SU(m|n) model is also equal spaced. In the limiting case where there are no bosons in the system, our results reduce to those obtained previously.
Motivated by the concept of shape invariance in supersymmetric quantum mechanics, we obtain potentials whose spectrum consists of two shifted sets of equally spaced energy levels. These potentials are similar to the Calogero-Sutherland model except the singular term $αx^{-2}$ always falls in the transition region $-1/4 < α< 3/4$ and there is a delta-function singularity at x=0.
We give a large class of supersymmetric domain walls in maximal seven-dimensional gauged supergravity with various types of gauge groups. Gaugings are described by components of the embedding tensor transforming in representations $\mathbf{15}$ and $\overline{\mathbf{40}}$ of the global symmetry $SL(5)$. The embedding tensor in $\mathbf{15}$ representation leads to $CSO(p,q,5-p-q)$ gauge groups while gaugings in $\overline{\mathbf{40}}$ representation describes $CSO(p,q,4-p-q)$ gauge groups. These gaugings admit half-supersymmetric domain walls as vacuum solutions. On the other hand, gaugings …
${\rm SU}(2|1)$ supersymmetric multi-particle quantum mechanics with additional semi-dynamical spin degrees of freedom is considered. In particular, we provide an $\mathcal{N}{=}\,4$ supersymmetrization of the quantum ${\rm U}(2)$ spin Calogero-Moser model, with an intrinsic mass parameter coming from the centrally-extended superalgebra $\widehat{su}(2|1)$. The full system admits an ${\rm SU}(2|1)$ covariant separation into the center-of-mass sector and the quotient. We derive explicit expressions for the classical and quantum ${\rm SU}(2|1)$ generators in both sectors as well as for the total…
A new generalization of the Jack polynomials that incorporates fermionic variables is presented. These Jack superpolynomials are constructed as those eigenfunctions of the supersymmetric extension of the trigonometric Calogero-Moser-Sutherland (CMS) model that decomposes triangularly in terms of the symmetric monomial superfunctions. Many explicit examples are displayed. Furthermore, various new results have been obtained for the supersymmetric version of the CMS models: the Lax formulation, the construction of the Dunkl operators and the explicit expressions for the conserved charges. The ref…
We study matter-coupled $N=3$ gauged supergravity in four dimensions with various semisimple gauge groups. When coupled to $n$ vector multiplets, the gauged supergravity contains $3+n$ vector fields and $3n$ complex scalars parametrized by $SU(3,n)/SU(3)\times SU(n)\times U(1)$ coset manifold. Semisimple gauge groups take the form of $G_0\times H\subset SO(3,n)\subset SU(3,n)$ with $H$ being a compact subgroup of $SO(n+3-\textrm{dim}(G_0))$. The $G_0$ groups considered in this paper are of the form $SO(3)$, $SO(3,1)$, $SO(2,2)$, $SL(3,\mathbb{R})$ and $SO(2,1)\times SO(2,2)$. We find that $SO(…
We discuss several applications and extensions of our previous operator solution of the $N$-body Calogero problem, \ie N particles in 1 dimension subject to a two-body interaction of the form $\half \sum_{i,j}[ (x_i - x_j)^2 + g/ {(x_i - x_j)^2}]$. Using a complex representation of the deformed Heisenberg algebra underlying the Calogero model, we explicitly establish the equivalence between this system and anyons in the lowest Landau level. A construction based on supersymmetry is used to extend our operator method to include fermions, and we obtain an explicit solution of the supersymmetric C…
We elaborate further on the static supersymmetric AdS_4 black holes found in arXiv:0911.4926, investigating thoroughly the BPS constraints for spherical symmetry in N = 2 gauged supergravity in the presence of Fayet-Iliopoulos terms. We find Killing spinors that preserve two of the original eight supercharges and investigate the conditions for genuine black holes free of naked singularities. The existence of a horizon is intimately related with the requirement that the scalars are not constant, but given in terms of harmonic functions in analogy to the attractor flow in ungauged supergravity. …
We first review the construction of the supersymmetric extension of the (quantum) Calogero-Moser-Sutherland (CMS) models. We stress the remarkable fact that this extension is completely captured by the insertion of a fermionic exchange operator in the Hamiltonian: sCMS models ({\it s} for supersymmetric) are nothing but special exchange-type CMS models. Under the appropriate projection, the conserved charges can thus be formulated in terms of the standard Dunkl operators. This is illustrated in the rational case, where the explicit form of the 4N (N being the number of bosonic variables) conse…
Dyonic gaugings of four-dimensional supergravity typically exhibit a richer vacuum structure compared to their purely electric counterparts, but their higher-dimensional origin often remains more mysterious. We consider a class of dyonic gaugings with gauge groups of the type (SO(p,q)xSO(p',q'))$\ltimes N$ with $N$ nilpotent. Using generalized Scherk-Schwarz reductions of exceptional field theory, we show how these four-dimensional gaugings may be consistently embedded in Type II supergravity upon compactification around products of spheres and hyperboloids. As an application, we give the expl…
We construct ${\mathcal N}=4 \,$ $\, D(2,1;α)$ superconformal quantum mechanical system for any configuration of vectors forming a V-system. In the case of a Coxeter root system the bosonic potential of the supersymmetric Hamiltonian is the corresponding generalised Calogero-Moser potential. We also construct supersymmetric generalised trigonometric Calogero-Moser-Sutherland Hamiltonians for some root systems including $BC_N$.
We explore the construction of supersymmetric solutions of theories of N=2,d=4 supergravity with a SU(2) gauging and SU(2) Fayet-Iliopoulos terms. In these theories an SU(2) isometry subgroup of the Special Kahler manifold is gauged together with a SU(2) R-symmetry subgroup. We construct several solutions of the CP3 quadratic model directly in four dimensions and of the ST[2,6] model by dimensional reduction of the solutions found by Cariglia and Mac Conamhna in N=(1,0),d=6 supergravity with the same kind of gauging. In the CP3 model, we construct an AdS2xS2 solution which is only 1/8 BPS and …
A supersymmetric extension of the color Calogero-Sutherland model is considered based on the Yangian $Y(gl(n|m))$. The algebraic structure of the model is discussed in some details. We show that the commuting conserved quantities can be generated from the super-quantum determinant, thus establishing the integrability of the model. In addition, rational limit of the model is studied where the Yangian symmetry degenerates into a super loop algebra.
We present a pedagogical discussion of the emergence of gauged supergravities from M-theory. First, a review of maximal supergravity and its global symmetries and supersymmetric solutions is given. Next, different procedures of dimensional reduction are explained: reductions over a torus, a group manifold and a coset manifold and reductions with a twist. Emphasis is placed on the consistency of the truncations, the resulting gaugings and the possibility to generate field equations without an action. Using these techniques, we construct a number of gauged maximal supergravities in diverse dimen…
It is shown that the Calogero-Moser models based on all root systems of the finite reflection groups (both the crystallographic and non-crystallographic cases) with the rational (with/without a harmonic confining potential), trigonometric and hyperbolic potentials can be simply supersymmetrised in terms of superpotentials. There is a universal formula for the supersymmetric ground state wavefunction. Since the bosonic part of each supersymmetric model is the usual quantum Calogero-Moser model, this gives a universal formula for its ground state wavefunction and energy, which is determined pure…
By using the technique of supersymmetric quantum mechanics, we study a quasi exactly solvable extension of the N-particle rational Calogero model with harmonic confining interaction. Such quasi exactly solvable many particle system, whose effective potential in the radial direction yields a supersymmetric partner of the radial harmonic oscillator, is constructed by including new long-range interactions to the rational Calogero model. An infinite number of bound state energy levels are obtained for this system under certain conditions. We also calculate the corresponding bound state wave functi…
Bianchi attractors are near horizon geometries with homogeneous symmetries in the spatial directions. We construct supersymmetric Bianchi attractors in $\mathcal{N}=2, d=4,5$ gauged supergravity. In $d=4$ we consider gauged supergravity coupled to vector and hypermultiplets. In $d=5$ we consider gauged supergravity coupled to vector multiplets with a generic gauging of symmetries of the scalar manifold and the $U(1)_R$ gauging of the $R$-symmetry. Analyzing the gaugino conditions we show that when the fermionic shifts do not vanish there are no supersymmetric Bianchi attractors. This is analog…
We propose to parametrize the configuration space of one-dimensional quantum systems of N identical particles by the elementary symmetric polynomials of bosonic and fermionic coordinates. It is shown that in this parametrization the Hamiltonians of the A_N, BC_N, B_N, C_N and D_N Calogero and Sutherland models, as well as their supersymmetric generalizations, can be expressed -- for arbitrary values of the coupling constants -- as quadratic polynomials in the generators of a Borel subalgebra of the Lie algebra gl(N+1) or the Lie superalgebra gl(N+1|N) for the supersymmetric case. These algebra…
We present an algebraic construction of the orthogonal eigenfunctions of the supersymmetric extension of the rational Calogero-Moser-Sutherland model with harmonic confinement. These eigenfunctions are the superspace extension of the generalized Hermite (or Hi-Jack) polynomials. The conserved quantities of the rational supersymmetric model are related to their trigonometric relatives through a similarity transformation. This leads to a simple expression between the corresponding eigenfunctions: the generalized Hermite superpolynomials are written as a differential operator acting on the corres…
We construct a kappa-symmetric Green-Schwarz action for type IIA string theory on AdS_2. As a candidate holographic dual, we consider superconformal matrix quantum mechanics, given by the Marinari-Parisi model with vanishing or logarithmic superpotential. We derive that the super-eigenvalues form a consistent subsector, and that their dynamics reduces to that of the supersymmetric Calogero-Moser model. The classical string action and the matrix model both have an infinite set of conserved charges, that include an N=2 target space super-Virasoro symmetry. As a microscopic test of the duality, w…
The development in the study of supersymmetric many-particle quantum systems with inverse-square interactions is reviewed. The main emphasis is on quantum systems with dynamical OSp(2|2) supersymmetry. Several results related to exactly solved supersymmetric rational Calogero model, including shape invariance, equivalence to a system of free superoscillators and non-uniqueness in the construction of the Hamiltonian, are presented in some detail. This review also includes a formulation of pseudo-hermitian supersymmetric quantum systems with a special emphasis on rational Calogero model. There a…
Intertwining relations for $N$-particle Calogero-like models with internal degrees of freedom are investigated. Starting from the well known Dunkl-Polychronakos operators, we construct new kind of local (without exchange operation) differential operators. These operators intertwine the matrix Hamiltonians corresponding to irreducible representations of the permutation group $S_N$. In particular cases, this method allows to construct a new class of exactly solvable Dirac-like equations and a new class of matrix models with shape invariance. The connection with approach of multidimensional super…
We discus all possible spherically symmetric black hole type solutions to an N=2 supergravity model with SO(3) gauging. The solutions consist of a one parameter family illustrating that the no-hair theorem does not hold and an isolated solution that a supersymmetric analogue of a coloured black hole.
We study a four-dimensional effective theory of the five-dimensional (5D) gauged supergravity with a universal hypermultiplet and perturbative superpotential terms at the orbifold fixed points. Among eight independent isometries of the scalar manifold, we focus on three directions for gauging by the graviphoton. The class of models we consider includes the 5D heterotic M-theory and the supersymmetric Randall-Sundrum model as special limits of the gauging parameters. We analyze the vacuum structure of such models, especially the nature of moduli stabilization, from the viewpoint of the effectiv…
We derive the exact spectra as well as partition functions for a class of $BC_N$ type of spin Calogero models, whose Hamiltonians are constructed by using supersymmetric analogues of polarized spin reversal operators (SAPSRO). The strong coupling limit of these spin Calogero models yields $BC_N$ type of Polychronakos-Frahm (PF) spin chains with SAPSRO. By applying the freezing trick, we obtain an exact expression for the partition functions of such PF spin chains. We also derive a formula which expresses the partition function of any $BC_N$ type of PF spin chain with SAPSRO in terms of partiti…
We show that the supersymmetric rational Calogero-Moser-Sutherland (CMS) model of A_{N+1}-type is equivalent to a set of free super-oscillators, through a similarity transformation. We prescribe methods to construct the complete eigen-spectrum and the associated eigen-functions, both in supersymmetry preserving as well as supersymmetry breaking phases, from the free super-oscillator basis. Further we show that a wide class of super-Hamiltonians realizing dynamical OSp(2|2) supersymmetry, which also includes all types of rational super-CMS as a small subset, are equivalent to free super-oscilla…
