We present a systematic and 'from the ground up' analysis of the 'minimal coupling' type of gauging of Yang-Mills symmetries in (2,2)-supersymmetric 1+1-dimensional spacetime. Starting from the Hamiltonian formulation of ${\cal N}{=}\,2$ supersymmetric Calogero models associated with the classical $A_n, B_n, C_n$ and $D_n$ series and their hyperbolic/trigonometric cousins, we provide their superspace description. This talk summarizes the study of superfield gaugings of isometries of extended supersymmetric mechanics in hep-th/0605211, hep-th/0611247 and arXiv:0706.0706. The gauging procedure provides a manifestly supersymmetric realization of d=1 automorphic dualities which interrelate various irreducible off-shell multiplets of d=1 extended supersymmetry featuring the same number of physical fermions but different divisions of bosonic fields into the physical and auxiliary subsets. A relativistic generalization of the rational Calogero model is obtained by using the deformation of a gauging matrix system with extra semi-dynamical variables. The Hamiltonian of this system is derived by imposing the gauge fixing conditions and eliminating gauge degrees of freedom. The integrability of the proposed relativistic model is proved.
We gauge the abelian hierarchy of tensor fields in 4D by a Lie algebra. The resulting non-abelian tensor hierarchy can be interpreted via an equivariant chain complex. In this paper we reopen the discussion of gauging the two-dimensional off-shell (2,2) supersymmetric sigma models written in terms of semichiral superfields. The associated target space geometry of this particular sigma model is generalized Kahler (or bi-hermitean with two non-commuting complex structures). The gauging of the isometries of the sigma model is now done by coupling the semichiral superfields to the new (2,2) semichiral vector multiplet. Exploiting the gauging procedure developed by us in hep-th/0605211, we study the relationships between the models of N=4 mechanics based on the off-shell multiplets (4,4,0) and (1,4,3). We make use of the off-shell N=4, d=1 harmonic superspace approach as most adequate for treating this circle of problems. We present basics of the gauged superfield approach to constructing N-superconformal multi-particle Calogero-type systems developed in arXiv:0812.4276, arXiv:0905.4951 and arXiv:0912.3508. This approach is illustrated by the multi-particle systems possessing SU(1,1|1) and D(2,1;α) supersymmetries, as well as by the model of new N=4 superconformal quantum mechanics.
