We find a new $4\times4$ solution to the $osp_q(1|2)$-invariant Yang-Baxter equation with simple dependence on the spectral parameter and propose $2\times 2$ matrix expressions for the corresponding Lax operator. The general inhomogeneous universal spectral-parameter dependent $R$-matrix is derived. It is proven, that there are two independent solutions to the homogeneous $osp_q(1|2)$-invariant YBE, defined on the fundamental three dimensional representations. One of them is the particular case of the universal matrix, while the second one does not admit generalization to the higher dimensional cases. Also the $3 \times 3$ matrix expression of the Lax operator is found, which have a well defined limit at $q \to 1$.
We generalize the classical study of (generalized) Lax pairs and the related $O$-operators and the (modified) classical Yang-Baxter equation by introducing the concepts of nonabelian generalized Lax pairs, extended $\calo$-operators and the extended classical Yang-Baxter equation. We study in this context the nonabelian generalized $r$-matrix ansatz and the related double Lie algebra structures. Relationship between extended $O$-operators and the extended classical Yang-Baxter equation is established, especially for self-dual Lie algebras. This relationship allows us to obtain explicit descrip…
We find the characteristic identities for the split Casimir operator in the defining and adjoint representations of the $osp(M|N)$ and $s\ell(M|N)$ Lie superalgebras. These identities are used to build the projectors onto invariant subspaces of the representation $T^{\otimes 2}$ of the $osp(M|N)$ and $s\ell(M|N)$ Lie superalgebras in the cases when $T$ is the defining and adjoint representations. For defining representations, the $osp(M|N)$- and $s\ell(M|N)$-invariant solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation are expressed as rational functions of the split Casimir operator. For the adjoint repres…
We study Yang-Baxter equations with orthosymplectic supersymmetry. We extend a new approach of the construction of the spinor and metaplectic $\hat{\cal R}$-operators with orthogonal and symplectic symmetries to the supersymmetric case of orthosymplectic symmetry. In this approach the orthosymplectic $\hat{\cal R}$-operator is given by the ratio of two operator valued Euler Gamma-functions. We illustrate this approach by calculating such $\hat{\cal R}$ operators in explicit form for special cases of the $osp(n|2m)$ algebra, in particular for a few low-rank cases. We also propose a novel, simpl…
We recently introduced a class of ${\mathbb{Z}}_N$ graded discrete Lax pairs and studied the associated discrete integrable systems (lattice equations). In this paper we introduce the corresponding Yang-Baxter maps. Many well known examples belong to this scheme for $N=2$, so, for $N\geq 3$, our systems may be regarded as generalisations of these. In particular, for each $N$ we introduce a generalisation of the map $H_{III}^B$ in the classification of scalar Yang-Baxter maps. For $N=3$ this is equivalent to the Yang-Baxter map associated with the discrete modified Boussinesq equation. For $N\g…
A construction of multidimensional parametric Yang-Baxter maps is presented. The corresponding Lax matrices are the symplectic leaves of first degree matrix polynomials equipped with the Sklyanin bracket. These maps are symplectic with respect to the reduced symplectic structure on these leaves and provide examples of integrable mappings. An interesting family of quadrirational symplectic YB maps on $\mathbb{C}^4 \times \mathbb{C}^4$ with $3\times 3$ Lax matrices is also presented.
We explicitly derive Lax pairs for string theories on Yang-Baxter deformed backgrounds, 1) gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories, 2) $γ$-deformations of S$^5$, 3) Schrödinger spacetimes and 4) abelian twists of the global AdS$_5$\,. Then we can find out a concise derivation of Lax pairs based on simple replacement rules. Furthermore, each of the above deformations can be reinterpreted as a twisted periodic boundary conditions with the undeformed background by using the rules. As another derivation, the Lax pair for gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories is reproduced from th…
A family of nonparametric Yang Baxter (YB) maps is constructed by refactorization of the product of two 2 by 2 matrix polynomials of first degree. These maps are Poisson with respect to the Sklyanin bracket. For each Casimir function a parametric Poisson YB map is generated by reduction on the corresponding level set. By considering a complete set of Casimir functions symplectic multiparametric YB maps are derived. These maps are quadrirational with explicit formulae in terms of matrix operations. Their Lax matrices are, by construction, 2 by 2 first degree polynomial in the spectral parameter…
Two-dimensional $σ$-models with $\mathbb{Z}_N$-symmetric homogeneous target spaces have been shown to be classically integrable when introducing WZ-terms in a particular way. This article continues the search for new models of this type now allowing some kinetic terms to be absent, analogously to the Green-Schwarz superstring $σ$-model on $\mathbb{Z}_4$-symmetric homogeneous spaces. A list of such integrable $\mathbb{Z}_N$-symmetric (super)coset $σ$-models for $N \leq 6$ and their Lax pairs is presented. For arbitrary $N$, a big class of integrable models is constructed that includes both the …
The quantum elliptic $R$-matrices of Baxter-Belavin type satisfy the associative Yang-Baxter equation in ${\rm Mat}(N,\mathbb C)^{\otimes 3}$. The latter can be considered as noncommutative analogue of the Fay identity for the scalar Kronecker function. In this paper we extend the list of $R$-matrix valued analogues of elliptic function identities. In particular, we propose counterparts of the Fay identities in ${\rm Mat}(N,\mathbb C)^{\otimes 2}$. As an application we construct $R$-matrix valued $2N^2\times 2N^2$ Lax pairs for the Painlevé VI equation (in elliptic form) with four free constan…
We study Yang-Baxter sigma models with deformed 4D Minkowski spacetimes arising from classical $r$-matrices associated with $κ$-deformations of the Poincaré algebra. These classical $κ$-Poincaré $r$-matrices describe three kinds of deformations: 1) the standard deformation, 2) the tachyonic deformation, and 3) the light-cone deformation. For each deformation, the metric and two-form $B$-field are computed from the associated $r$-matrix. The first two deformations, related to the modified classical Yang-Baxter equation, lead to T-duals of dS$_4$ and AdS$_4$\,, respectively. The third deformatio…
A discrete nonlinear system is analysed in case of open chain boundary conditions at the ends. It is shown that the integrability of the system remains intact, by obtaining a modified set of Lax equations which automatically take care of the boundary conditions. The same Lax pair also conforms to the conditions stipulated by Sklyanin [5]. The quantum inverse problem is set up and the diagonalisation is carried out by the method of sparation of variables. Bäcklund transformations are then derived under the modified boundary conditions using the classical r-matrix . Finally by quantising the Bäc…
Two universal spectral parameter-dependent Lax operators are presented in terms of the elements of the Drinfeld double $D(D_3)$ of the dihedral group $D_3$. Applying representations of $D(D_3)$ to these yields matrix solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation with spectral parameter.
New examples of the Yang-Baxter maps (or set-theoretical solutions to the quantum Yang-Baxter equation) on the Grassmannians arising from the theory of the matrix KdV equation are discussed. The Lax pairs for these maps are produced using the relations with the inverse scattering problem for the matrix Schrödinger operator.
We derive the Lax connection of the free fermion model on a lattice starting from the fermionic formulation of Bazhanov-Stroganov's three-parameter elliptic parametrization for the R-operator. It results in the Yang-Baxter and decorated Yang-Baxter equations of difference type in one of the spectral parameters, which is the most suitable form to obtain any relativistic model of free fermions in the continuous limit.
In this thesis we study the Darboux transformations related to particular Lax operators of NLS type which are invariant under the action of the so-called reduction group. Specifically, we study the cases of: 1) the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (with no reduction), 2) the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation, where the corresponding Lax operator is invariant under the action of the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-reduction group and 3) a deformation of the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation, associated to a Lax operator invariant under the action of the dihedral reduction group. These reduction gr…
Yang-Baxter (YB) map systems (or set-theoretic analoga of entwining YB structures) are presented. They admit zero curvature representations with spectral parameter depended Lax triples L1, L2, L3 derived from symplectic leaves of 2 x 2 binomial matrices equipped with the Sklyanin bracket. A unique factorization condition of the Lax triple implies a 3-dimensional compatibility property of these maps. In case L1 = L2 = L3 this property yields the se--theoretic quantum Yang-Baxter equation, i.e. the YB map property. By considering periodic 'staircase' initial value problems on quadrilateral latti…
We prove that one-dimensional elastic relativistic collisions satisfy the set-theoretical Yang-Baxter equation. The corresponding collision maps are symplectic and admit a Lax representation. Furthermore, they can be considered as reductions of a higher dimensional integrable Yang-Baxter map on an invariant manifold. In this framework, we study the integrability of transfer maps that represent particular periodic sequences of collisions.
In this paper, we construct a Grassmann extension of a Yang-Baxter map which first appeared in [16] and can be considered as a lift of the discrete potential Korteweg-de Vries (dpKdV) equation. This noncommutative extension satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation, and it admits a $3 \times 3$ Lax matrix. Moreover, we show that it can be squeezed down to a system of lattice equations which possesses a Lax representation and whose bosonic limit is the dpKdV equation. Finally, we consider commutative analogues of the constructed Yang-Baxter map and its associated quad-graph system, and we discuss thei…
We have constructed series of the spectral parameter dependent solutions to the Yang-Baxter equations defined on the tensor product of reducible representations with symmetry of quantum algebra. These series are produced as descendant solutions from the $sl_{q}(2)$-invariant Hecke type $R^{r\;r}(u)$-matrices. The analogues of the matrices of Hecke type with the symmetry of the quantum super-algebra $osp_q(1|2)$ are obtained precisely. For the homogeneous solutions $R^{r^2-1\;r^2-1}$ there are constructed Hamiltonian operators of the corresponding one-dimensional quantum integrable models, whic…
We propose a construction of 1+1 integrable Heisenberg-Landau-Lifshitz type equations in the ${\rm gl}_N$ case. The dynamical variables are matrix elements of $N\times N$ matrix $S$ with the property $S^2={\rm const}\cdot S$. The Lax pair with spectral parameter is constructed by means of a quantum $R$-matrix satisfying the associative Yang-Baxter equation. Equations of motion for ${\rm gl}_N$ Landau-Lifshitz model are derived from the Zakharov-Shabat equations. The model is simplified when ${\rm rank}(S)=1$. In this case the Hamiltonian description is suggested. The described family of models…
We propose Drinfeld's second realisation of the quantum group relevant to the Lax-operator approach developed in the work of Bazhanov, Frassek, Lukowski, Meneghelli and Staudacher.
We find new solutions to the Yang-Baxter equations with the $R$-matrices possessing $sl_q(2)$ symmetry at roots of unity, using indecomposable representations. The corresponding quantum one-dimensional chain models, which can be treated as extensions of the XXZ model at roots of unity, are investigated. We consider the case $q^4=1$. The Hamiltonian operators of these models as a rule appear to be non-Hermitian. Taking into account the correspondence between the representations of the quantum algebra $sl_q(2)$ and the quantum super-algebra $osp_t(1|2)$, the presented analysis can be extended to…
We proceed to study Yang-Baxter deformations of 4D Minkowski spacetime based on a conformal embedding. We first revisit a Melvin background and argue a Lax pair by adopting a simple replacement law invented in 1509.00173. This argument enables us to deduce a general expression of Lax pair. Then the anticipated Lax pair is shown to work for arbitrary classical $r$-matrices with Poincaé generators. As other examples, we present Lax pairs for pp-wave backgrounds, the Hashimoto-Sethi background, the Spradlin-Takayanagi-Volovich background.
In this paper we show that there are explicit Yang-Baxter maps with Darboux-Lax representation between Grassmann extensions of algebraic varieties. Motivated by some recent results on noncommutative extensions of Darboux transformations, we first derive a Darboux matrix associated with the Grassmann-extended derivative Nonlinear Schrodinger (DNLS) equation, and then we deduce novel endomorphisms of Grassmann varieties, which possess the Yang-Baxter property. In particular, we present ten-dimensional maps which can be restricted to eight-dimensional Yang-Baxter maps on invariant leaves, related…
We derive the solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation associated with a supersymmetric nineteen vertex model constructed from the three-dimensional representation of the twisted quantum affine Lie superalgebra $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}\left(2|2\right)^{\left(2\right)}]\simeq U_{q}[C\left(2\right)^{\left(2\right)}]$. We found three classes of solutions. The type I solution is characterized by three boundary free-parameters and all elements of the corresponding reflection $K$-matrix are different from zero. In the type II solution, the reflection $K$-matrix is even (every element of the $K$-mat…
We propose a classification of the reflection $K$-matrices (solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation) for the $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}^{\left(2\right)}\left(2|2m\right)]=U_{q}[C^{\left(2\right)}\left(m+1\right)]$ vertex-model. We have found four families of solutions, namely, the complete solutions, in which no elements of the reflection $K$-matrix is null, the block-diagonal solutions, the $X$-shape solutions and the diagonal solutions. We highlight that these diagonal $K$-matrices also hold for the $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}^{\left(2\right)}\left(2n+2|2m\right)]=U_{q}[D^{\left(2\right)}\left(n+1,m…
The Lax-Sato approach to the hierarchies of Manakov-Santini type is formalized in order to extend it to a more general class of integrable systems. For this purpose some linear operators are introduced, which must satisfy some integrability conditions, one of them is the Rota-Baxter identity. The theory is illustrated by means of the algebra of Laurent series, the related hierarchies are classified and examples, also new, of Manakov-Santini type systems are constructed, including those that are related to the dispersionless modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation and so called dispersionless …
The minimal irreducible representations of $U_q[gl(m|n)]$, i.e. those irreducible representations that are also irreducible under $U_q[osp(m|n)]$ are investigated and shown to be affinizable to give irreducible representations of the twisted quantum affine superalgebra $U_q[gl(m|n)^{(2)}]$. The $U_q[osp(m|n)]$ invariant R-matrices corresponding to the tensor product of any two minimal representations are constructed, thus extending our twisted tensor product graph method to the supersymmetric case. These give new solutions to the spectral-dependent graded Yang-Baxter equation arising from $U_q…
Tensor solutions ($r$-matrices) of the classical Yang-Baxter equation (CYBE) in a Lie algebra, obtained as the classical limit of the $R$-matrix solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (QYBE), is an important structure appearing in different areas such as integrable systems, symplectic geometry, quantum groups and quantum field theory. Further study of CYBE led to its interpretation as certain operators, giving rise to the concept of O-operators. In [3], the O-operators were in turn interpreted as tensor solutions of CYBE by enlarging the Lie algebra. The purpose of this paper is to exten…
We investigate the Yang-Baxter algebra for $\mathrm{U}(1)$ invariant three-state vertex models whose Boltzmann weights configurations break explicitly the parity-time reversal symmetry. We uncover two families of regular Lax operators with nineteen non-null weights which ultimately sit on algebraic plane curves with genus five. We argue that these curves admit degree two morphisms onto elliptic curves and thus they are bielliptic. The associated $\mathrm{R}$-matrices are non-additive in the spectral parameters and it has been checked that they satisfy the Yang-Baxter equation. The respective i…
The Lax operator of the Gaudin type models is a 1-form on the classical level. In virtue of the quantization scheme proposed in [Talalaev04] (hep-th/0404153) it is natural to treat the quantum Lax operator as a connection; this connection is a particular case of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov connection [ChervovTalalaev06] (hep-th/0604128). In this paper we find a gauge transformation which produces the "second normal form" or the "Drinfeld-Sokolov" form. Moreover the differential operator naturally corresponding to this form is given precisely by the quantum characteristic polynomial [Talalaev04]…
A new set of discrete integrable equations, called face-centered quad equations, was recently obtained using new types of interaction-round-a-face solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. These equations satisfy a new formulation of multidimensional consistency, known as consistency-around-a-face-centered-cube (CAFCC), which requires consistency of an overdetermined system of fourteen five-point equations on the face-centered cubic unit cell. In this paper a new formulation of CAFCC is introduced where so-called type-C equations are centered at faces of the face-centered cubic unit cel…
The article is devoted to the study of $R$-matrix-valued Lax pairs for $N$-body (elliptic) Calogero-Moser models. Their matrix elements are given by quantum ${\rm GL}_{\tilde N}$ $R$-matrices of Baxter-Belavin type. For $\tilde N=1$ the widely known Krichever's Lax pair with spectral parameter is reproduced. First, we construct the $R$-matrix-valued Lax pairs for Calogero-Moser models associated with classical root systems. For this purpose we study generalizations of the D'Hoker-Phong Lax pairs. It appeared that in the $R$-matrix-valued case the Lax pairs exist in special cases only. The numb…
We consider a special class of quantum non-dynamical $R$-matrices in the fundamental representation of ${\rm GL}_N$ with spectral parameter given by trigonometric solutions of the associative Yang-Baxter equation. In the simplest case $N=2$ these are the well-known 6-vertex $R$-matrix and its 7-vertex deformation. The $R$-matrices are used for construction of the classical relativistic integrable tops of the Euler-Arnold type. Namely, we describe the Lax pairs with spectral parameter, the inertia tensors and the Poisson structures. The latter are given by the linear Poisson-Lie brackets for th…
By exhibiting the corresponding Lax pair representations we propose a wide class of integrable two-dimensional (2D) fermionic Toda lattice (TL) hierarchies which includes the 2D N=(2|2) and N=(0|2) supersymmetric TL hierarchies as particular cases. Performing their reduction to the one-dimensional case by imposing suitable constraints we derive the corresponding 1D fermionic TL hierarchies. We develop the generalized graded R-matrix formalism using the generalized graded bracket on the space of graded operators with an involution generalizing the graded commutator in superalgebras, which allow…
We construct the Lax-pair, the classical monodromy matrix and the corresponding solution of the Yang--Baxter equation, for a two-parameter deformation of the Principal chiral model for a simple group. This deformation includes as a one-parameter subset, a class of integrable gauged WZW-type theories interpolating between the WZW model and the non-Abelian T-dual of the principal chiral model. We derive in full detail the Yangian algebra using two independent methods: by computing the algebra of the non-local charges and alternatively through an expansion of the Maillet brackets for the monodrom…
An operator deformed quantum algebra is discovered exploiting the quantum Yang-Baxter equation with trigonometric R-matrix. This novel Hopf algebra along with its $q \to 1$ limit appear to be the most general Yang-Baxter algebra underlying quantum integrable systems. Three different directions of application of this algebra in integrable systems depending on different sets of values of deforming operators are identified. Fixed values on the whole lattice yield subalgebras linked to standard quantum integrable models, while the associated Lax operators generate and classify them in an unified w…
In this paper we discuss $R$-matrix-valued Lax pairs for ${\rm sl}_N$ Calogero-Moser model and their relation to integrable quantum long-range spin chains of the Haldane-Shastry-Inozemtsev type. First, we construct the $R$-matrix-valued Lax pairs for the third flow of the classical Calogero-Moser model. Then we notice that the scalar parts (in the auxiliary space) of the $M$-matrices corresponding to the second and third flows have form of special spin exchange operators. The freezing trick restricts them to quantum Hamiltonians of long-range spin chains. We show that for a special choice of t…
A new type of quantum transfer matrix, arising as a Cholesky factor for the steady state density matrix of a dissipative Markovian process associated with the boundary-driven Lindblad equation for the isotropic spin-1/2 Heisenberg (XXX) chain, is presented. The transfer matrix forms a commuting family of non-Hermitian operators depending on the spectral parameter which is essentially the strength of dissipative coupling at the boundaries. The intertwining of the corresponding Lax and monodromy matrices is performed by an infinitely dimensional Yang-Baxter R-matrix which we construct explicitly…
We present a family of novel Lax operators corresponding to representations of the RTT-realisation of the Yangian associated with $D$-type Lie algebras. These Lax operators are of oscillator type, i.e. one space of the operators is infinite-dimensional while the other is in the first fundamental representation of $\mathfrak{so}(2r)$. We use the isomorphism between the first fundamental representation of $D_3$ and the $\mathbf{6}$ of $A_3$, for which the degenerate oscillator type Lax matrices are known, to derive the Lax operators for $r=3$. The results are used to generalise the Lax matrices …
Yang--Baxter maps (YB maps) are set-theoretical solutions to the quantum Yang--Baxter equation. For a set $X=Ω\times V$, where $V$ is a vector space and $Ω$ is regarded as a space of parameters, a linear parametric YB map is a YB map $Y\colon X\times X\to X\times X$ such that $Y$ is linear with respect to $V$ and one has $πY=π$ for the projection $π\colon X\times X\toΩ\timesΩ$. These conditions are equivalent to certain nonlinear algebraic relations for the components of $Y$. Such a map $Y$ may be nonlinear with respect to parameters from $Ω$. We present general results on such maps, including…
We study the transfer matrix spectral problem for the cyclic representations of the trigonometric 6-vertex reflection algebra associated to the Bazhanov-Stroganov Lax operator. The results apply as well to the spectral analysis of the lattice sine-Gordon model with integrable open boundary conditions. This spectral analysis is developed by implementing the method of separation of variables (SoV). The transfer matrix spectrum (both eigenvalues and eigenstates) is completely characterized in terms of the set of solutions to a discrete system of polynomial equations in a given class of functions.…
